Downtown Joe's

Lots of TVs and one huge projection screen if you're looking to watch sports. They have a great selection of locally brewed beers. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We had the beer battered onion rings which were okay but not as good as Buffalo wild wing if those are more your style. We also had the chicken wings and they were amazing! Great flavor and not super spicy, But enough kick to satisfy someone who loves things really spicy. We then had the bacon jam burger but we substituted real bacon instead of the bacon jam. The burger was cooked medium to slightly medium rare and was heavenly!

This was an absolutely fabulous place to eat. Being hungry, we went down Main Street. The mixed Buffalo and Angus beef patty was so juicy and yummy, you would die for 🥰🤤😋. Same with the brisket burger 🍔 Both with cross fries 🍟 .

Very delicious little breakfast spot. The dining room that overlooks the Napa river is really quiet and nice. They have a great patio as well! The servers and waitress were so nice and accommodating for my toddler. I got the breakfast sandwich and swapped the cheddar cheese with Gouda. Omg - it was amazing. Highly recommend! Historical artifacts on the walls make this a quaint little eatery.

My wife and I really enjoyed our late lunch here yesterday. Big John, our everything man was outstanding. From bartending, to helping guide us to a great beer ( Lazy Summer) and great menu. This place is always amazing! I had house made corned beef and hash. Yummy. The service was perfect! As usual. And I got a great hat!! I had another amazing burger today. Perfectly cooked and yummy😋

Always good food and friendly, helpful staff. The drinks are good too. Indoor back room seating is nice for winter, and the back patio for summer - both with a nice view of the water.

We are from St. Louis and go to Downtown Joe's every year because of the friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and great food! The owner Joe is very engaging and welcoming. Alfonso is the best and we look forward to seeing him and the rest of the staff every year. We met Iris this year who is absolutely adorable! Thanks for the fun time as usual! Craig and Laura

The look of Downtown Joe's is a little worn, but we have found the food consistently good on our last few visits. DH often opts for the two-piece fish n chips. (Three pieces also available.) The chips (fries here in the US) have a light beer batter coating. I tried one ... delicious. My turkey club with avocado came on a toasted "seeded" bread which was a nice change from the more traditional sourdough. It came with a very generous side of potato salad. Tasted homemade ... not like something from the grocery store. But next time I may try to substitute the fries. Didn't I say they are delicious? It was a warm day and we were happy to escape the dark bar and sit on the patio. We were offered a "river view." The Napa River in early May is nothing to get excited about. Actually a rather depressing view with low water level. There is also an inside upper level with the river view. Service is pleasant and the food tasty. Prices reasonable for Napa. Atmosphere is nothing to get excited about. Probably would not bring out-of-town guests or recommend to folks who have saved for a year to visit Wine Country. So many other options. Downtown Joe's seems more suited for locals and "almost locals" like us who come to Napa every few months to pick up a wine club selection. Certainly keeping this one on our list.

Quinn was our server and did an amazing job. Our app came out with our entrees, which was fine but offered us something for free anyway, which we declined because we were already so happy with everything. Would recommend! Ambience by the river was cozy and quiet.

Live music for St. Pattys Day! And the bar area is amazing. The bartenders are zippy fast and nice. The Sorry Lot were perfect for the celebration!

Location is 5/5, music/views/cozy atmosphere 5/5, food 4/5 (got lemon chicken piccata which was very tasty! Group also got smash burger, bison burger, impossible burger, burnt ends, salmon) but unfortunately service was 3/5 due to several forgotten items delaying dinner for some of our group, although staff was very kind.

Was excited to eat here when checking online reviews. Got seated relatively quick. Ordered wings for starters but the wings were definitely old. Ate 1 wing and it tasted worse than 7-11 wings left over night. I had another person try a wing and same result. Sadly, did not pass the vibe check. They asked me if I wanted something else but declined. Bad experience for me. From my experience, I won't recommend.

We were here a few weeks ago and they were having a local animal shelter fundraiser. Between Good food, Football, Dogs in costumes and a nice welcoming staff it's definitely our go-to Sports bar when we are in Napa. I bought raffle tix and won a Tito's water bowlpassed it on...

Downtown Joes has been a fixture on Main Street for a long time. Great location and close to other things to do. Easy parking too. Food was good. No complaints! Don't be put off if any of the older servers are gruff- they're really not! Come by and watch college football, nfl, etc on the numerous tvs and there's a ginormous tv wall too.

This SUPER dog friendly spot on the river has a nice outdoor seating area. Luckily we love all the pups but some may want the FYI. The service while we were there was friendly but slow. The mocktail unfortunately tasted more like a cocktail than my martini. We thought our blue cheese was ranch but then told, their blue cheese is ranch based with added blue cheese crumbles so that was a bummer. It was pretty warm out and we only got our water filled once when a lady from the hostess booth noticed our waters were empty while waiting for our bill. It may have been the time of day, staffing issues or whatever have you but we will probably wait awhile before we try again. The server was all over the restaurant and doing her best and the gals in the front outdoor hostess booth were friendly and full of smiles but I have to keep the full experience real.

We dropped in about 5pm on a Friday for the happy hour M-F 4-6pm. It's half off appetizers, beers, wines and $8 cocktails. The happy hour is only inside and near the bar area. There's also outdoor seating. Food was your normal bar food. We were surprised how cheap the appetizers and alcohol were. And the wines were well known and good too. Our waiter was nice to let us sample beer and wine too. Great service! It was kind of busy during happy hour. Their fries are the best!! They also have garlic fries. A good spot for drinks and socializing! They have fun themed shots and drinks, and a nice selection of beers. They have a dining room overlooking the river. Their burgers are really solid too! I love their gnocchi pesto dish that's on the menu right now. They have fun theme nights like karaoke, wing eating contests, chili cook offs, DJ nights, etc.

We have been here a few times years ago but just seemed to have forgotten about it. Hubby always loved the beer and I forgot they have a full bar. Place was packed but strangely enough everyone was sitting outside in 90 degree heat so it was easy for us to find a table indoors where it was cooler. Staff was friendly and attentive. Came in for drinks and appetizers. We ordered the pretzel bites, the esquites, spinach artichoke dip, and burger. I ordered a strawberry cocktail and hubby ordered a beer. The strawberry cocktail was yummy- not aesthetically pleasing but it's fitting since this place seems to be a no frills type of place. All the food was delicious and hubby was happy with the beer. My faves were the esquites (corn) and burger (super juicy)!

Reluctantly stopped by this place over the weekend, was concerned after reading some the reviews, but we ended up having a good experience. It was a beautiful day, the place wasn't busy in the late afternoon, and we were sat outside in the back which had a wonderful ambiance and great view of the Napa river -- exactly what we were hoping for. The drinks (beer & wine) were good, and the service was fantastic. I'd say the food was "just okay," and nothing spectacular -- I had the Ruben and my partner had the fish taco's; portion size of the Ruben and fries seemed small, and we've had better fish taco's other places -- but we didn't expect a michelin star meal when choosing this place. During nice weather, I'll definitely swing by again for drinks on the back patio and perhaps get an appetizer or try a different dish.

Whew this place was absolutely delicious. You have three seating options here since they have a nice bar, outside seating and upstairs dining with a view of the bridges and small lake. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the kindest women working at the bar that took note it was our first time here and explained where we could dine. We chose the upstairs area as it's more spacious and private. Eating with such a nice view was an added plus. Our server Iris was so pleasant and went above and beyond. She answered all of our questions and her recommendations were great. We truly enjoyed the food here. From the award winning chili bean soup to the French dip sandwich. Also, not sure if it's every Saturday but they had 90s night after 9pm and it was pretty fun however it got really packed so just be aware of that. Everyone from the bartender to the waiter and the server were so kind to us and we will definitely be back. Thank you for such great service !

Ehhhh. Service needs major improvement. Food was mediocre, nothing to brag about. Location is cute if you sit in the far back. We ordered calamari, spicy shrimp leaf wraps, bbq pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. Now the potato salad was the BEST! However they give you a small serving. Needless to say, I wouldn't come back.

Amazing food!! BUT the Rueben is a MUST HAVE! Oh and the sweet potatoe fries are amazing too! Service was great and it's a cool vibe! Wish we had a Downtown Joe's in downtown Roseville, Ca!!!!!

Went to downtown joes for restaurant week and it was amazing. I've never got such a big plate of corn riblets before and the brisket was very tender and barbecue sauce was amazing. I ordered the bees knees for alcohol and it was the bartenders first time making it. It was delicious but could've used more honey. Lots of tvs to play games you can tell that it's a historic building everything inside was made of wood !

Once came here for dinner. Ordered ribs plate. The ribs were bland and the bbq sauce was just on the side. More like bottled sauce poured in a small dipping cup. The loaded baked potatoe was dry and cold. Not enough cheese,bacon, & sour cream. The only thing on the plate which was good was the elote corn. The food was cold though. Then we also got new york steak medium rare. Came out well done. No warm red center. Mashed potato was bland and cold. This plate was also cold. Nothing to rave about the food here. How disappointment to have wasted money here.

We were looking for a nice place to eat on a sunny day and Downtown Joes was there for us! The out door seating is along the river and it's just so nice! The staff was so nice and welcoming. We got drinks and ordered food. The food was so good and delivered in good time - we had such a great time and felt so relaxed after getting some time outside. The bathrooms were nice as well!

Wyatt & Dylan are awesome! Wyatt makes awesome drinks! We appreciate the great time for anniversary!

The corn ribs were better then expected. The aioli was great with the cheese. I'd order it again. Out door seating along the river is quaint. If you have allergies sit inside. The trees are in full bloom. Service is attentive and quick. The meatloaf special was as expected and Mom was happy. The Reuben was fatty more then usual and a bit soggy with too much dressing. The fish and chips were good. We'd come again. Mostly for the ambiance.

Downtown Joes was our favorite go to... until the last 2x we have been there. The menu has changed and all the favorites are gone. Portions are smaller, drinks are smaller with more ice. Just not the same anymore. The only thing I would get there was the fish tacos and the new general manager took them off the menu!! replaced with Quesabirria Tacos$19.95. Which were horrible. Dry brisket , tasted like cardboard. We had a bison burger for $26 and two drinks. $85 with tip it was $100. We love the staff there and would go a couple times a month. We will now have to find another go to place can't afford $100 for 2 drinks and tacos/burger. Wish they would get rid of the general manager and bring back the food like it used to be. Seems like the place has changed.

My friend and I wanted to sit outside by the river but the chairs were so narrow, we could barely fit in them. We asked our server for different chairs and she rudely motioned over to the front, grab some chairs over there, then walked away. At least offer to help us get the chairs but she didn't want to. My friend asked if they still have the pastrami sandwich and before she could finish her sentence, our server cut her off and rudely said that they don't offer that item anymore. She didn't suggest anything else, just stood there annoyed, acting like she didn't want to be there. We got our order and was surprised on how little amount of fries we got. Just barely any! And my friends sweet potato fries were really burned, so bad that she couldn't bite into them. Her burger was drenched in some kind of sauce and not cooked all the way as she ordered it. My pesto chicken sandwich was ok but I paid the price later. I had massive stomach ache the rest is the day with severe diarrhea. My stomach was rolling with pain and I got very bloated. I felt sick the rest of the day and through the night. I don't recommend going here. The service is horrible and so is the food!! Don't waste your money here!

Mediocre food and service. I came to Napa to hang out with my boyfriend and friend at night as it was only a 20 minute drive from Suisun. Downtown Joe's was one of the few places that is open til late. I came here around 10PM on a Friday night and it wasn't terribly busy. When my party and I arrived, there was no one at the host podium and we were told to sit down at any table and someone will serve us. It took a bit of a while for a waiter to notice us. One of the waiters asked us if we wanted drinks or food and we said both. The server then told us he said he needed to see our IDs first and he checked ours INTENTLY as if they were fake. That was strange, and I felt he was a bit rude to us while checking our IDs. He gave us our menus after checking them, and only gave us 2 sets of utensils even though we were a party of 3. We were served by another waiter who was much pleasant than the first and he was apologizing to us. I ordered the tri tip salad and my boyfriend and friend both ordered a burger. They both enjoyed their burger, however my salad was lackluster. Then salad included veggies with craisins, and apples with a vinaigrette dressing but I did not like how the tri tip was cold. I also ordered the cherry blossom drink, it was alright, a bit too artificial tasting. It reminded me of a Shirley Temple drink. Not sure if I would come here again, but this seems to be only one of the few places open for food late at night.

Two lady friends and I (and dog Cabo) had a delightful lunch today at Downtown Joe's. We sat on the patio. One had the JD Smoked BBQ Tri-Tip Sandwich with sweet potato fries. The other had the same but with their homemade potato salad. I had the Double Smash Burger but subbed in chicken breast, and it came with with beer batter French fries. The service was awesome, meeting great friends was awesome too. OH, the homemade potato salad was delicious!!! I had some too. We had a little problem with bees, but only for a short time.

I've been many times to Downtown Joe's, and always had a good experience, hence I'm keep returning. I cannot say the same about my last visit. I ordered Avocado toast. I received one slice of bread, with sliced less than half avocado on it, topped with lots of crumbled feta cheese and very little smoked salmon. I believe it was $21!

Downtown Joe's was a whole EXPERIENCE! GREAT service and GREAT food! Thank you Iris and Do (Doreen) for making my mom's birthday memorable! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and advised that I could sit any where I wanted. I was waiting for my family and ordered a Strawberry Cucumber Margarita at the bar. Iris did her thing as it was equally delicious and strong! I didn't realize they had an upstairs area with its own bar and Iris advised our party was seated there. The view overlooked Napa and the water with huge windows that let lots of natural light in. Def a great spot for a romantic date or even a girls day out! Now let's talk about their food! Everything was fire and I'm craving their meatloaf and mashed potatoes even as I'm writing this. The Elote Corn Riblets are a must! Calamari was crispy and well seasoned and came with little broccoli bits. The Artichoke Spinach dip was thick and creamy. I'm literally in love with this place and can't wait to go back. On top of that, they have KARAOKE that starts at 830 PM during the week and even though I didn't stay for that, a lot of regulars piled in as I was leaving. You can tell that this place serves their customers well because the staff are like your friends. They care and that's rare in this day and age! I will be back Downtown Joes and I can't wait!

We went in on Cinco de Mayo with 2 reservations total 9 people. They were a Le to get us all at one table in the bar. They had margaritas on special as well as shrimp tacos and chicken quesadillas. All were great. Noisy but fun. Got some handouts from the tequila girl. Great location and our server was awesome! Somehow I didn't get pics... sorry!

Great food but service was a little lacking. I ordered the reuben sandwich on sourdough. The order came back on rye instead of sourdough so had to send it back. The replacement came back real fast though. The food itself was very good and the waitress was very nice. The beer selection is small, but the beer was good. It took a long time to get the check. Eventually 15 minutes after asking for the check, someone just took my card without me ever reviewing the bill.

Cynthia is the best server in Napa Valley. She is attentive, sweet and and a baddie !!! She is truly so personable

I was in Napa Downtown a few times. Yesterday, just feel like going to Downtown Joe restaurant. It is saturday, early like 6pm. Not crowded. 1) Decor look old and historic. (has history). 2) There is a bar and regular tables. Yesterday is cold, otherwise, could sit outside. 3) The employees/waiter/waitress are very friendly and nice. 4) Ordered fish taco and Cesar Salad with grill chicken. Both food arrived very fast. And taste very very good. 5) This is not those white table cloth upscale restaurants in Downtown Napa. But their food's taste, their Chef definitely very good. And the food's price is very good, reasonable. I will go again sometimes to try other dishes/food. When weather is nicer, hope to sit outdoor.

Nice way to spend a couple of hours on the back patio, overlooking the Napa River. Especially during the daily happy hour. We had a couple of ice cold local wheat beers and a really good, warm spinach artichoke dip that was accompanied by what appeared to be homemade tortilla chips. Service was nice and relaxed and very friendly. I would not go do this after a three winery day long tour (when you consume way too much really good wine) but if you are on a day in between wine marathons in Napa, this is nice way to spend happy hour.

Stopped by DT Joes over the weekend as the weather was wonderful. Had the smash burger and fish and chip along with a couple of blonde ales which were great. But the service from Tha as she was friendly, knowledgeable and on point was what made our experience exceptional! Thank you Tha!!

We sat at the bar during happy hour. Everyone was friendly. The employees and locals talked with us like we belonged there. Easy going atmosphere. The food was great. We ordered the wings, corn ribs, onion rings with a couple of craft beers. I do wish they would add a few more onion rings to the order. We will go again.

Iris is the best!! So funny and a great addition to the team. St patty's was a zoo, but the team is rocking as usual.

This place is a great local place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I prefer sitting at the bar, and all the staff takes care of you. Party is awesome, and you will see her in the day. Wyatt and Michael are great too. The manger Doreen is great too. I like the Joe's scramble, and the fish and chips. Sometimes I will get a burger with their garlic fries. Their Bloody Mary's are great too. DT Joe's is locally owened, and lot of the staff have been there for a long time.

We had dinner here on Valentines. They made our evening special. we had a seat with river view, candles on the table, very nice. The staff was sweet and very attentive. We had the fish tacos, yummy guacamole and salmon salad. Both delicious. They brought a long stemmed rose to our table. They have outside seating on the River will for warmer weather and a great lookin happy hour.

So impressed with their new dining room! They set up a bar in there now with two huge big screen TVs! And the food was amazing as well! The chicken piccata was tender, and so flavorful, and the mashed potatoes were probably the best I've ever had! Our server was Iris, and she was a doll! Loved her! We always avoid downtown because it's just too crowded with tourists but we decided to risk it and found a place to park in the parking garage and walked to Joe's... So happy we made that decision! And just so you know, they do serve their Joe's scramble all day if you're craving a breakfast! I usually get the fish and chips but now I will probably get the chicken piccata every time! I came in for dinner on a Friday evening with my kids, who are 10 and 12 years old. We were on our way to a show just down the street. Food was pretty good, but what was absolutely worthy of the 5 star rating was the service. Every person we came in contact with made us feel very welcome. Our server, "Big Joe" was awesome. This place is a great spot to go to. Highly recommend!!

Received amazing service from both Iris and Mark. Drinks were great as was food. If your looking for a casual dining place in Napa with a chill environment, this is the place! Two indoor bars and outdoor waterfront seating, wine, beers and cocktails, a little something for all different tastes. Definitely will be coming back to try the desserts.

Great location to eat in downtown Napa with tables along the river Menu has lots of variety & good food choices to pick from. Our choices were capellini chicken & asiago (asked for extra asiago) as the pasta was shy of the garlic flavor & chicken lemon picata was flavorful with tasty mash potatoes. Service from bar to table was 5 star. Very helpful in drink choices and full of smiles to brighten the afternoon. I would recommend this place for BBQ lovers too! Overheard they just bought a new smoker and it smells good.

In love with the fact that Joe's is a local favorite to hang out at. Casual. Unpretentious. Fun food place! Bar upstairs has a view of the river! Watch your favorite game upstairs on the big screens with your peeps with rotating home made brews and seltzers. Come weekdays for 1/2 off appetizers and discounted home brews made on site upstairs.
