I am absolutely in-love with Doyle and Doyle - the quality of the vintage jewelry is like no other, not to mention it's always a unique conversation piece. The store itself is also gorgeous and the people are extremely helpful. I recently purchased clip on earrings that I had altered by Doyle and Doyle to have a post (for extra security while wearing) and they turned it around in 1-2 weeks. So quick and easy to work with. Special thanks to Juliet to coordinating and prompt responses.

The team at Doyle and Doyle were able to offer exactly what my wife and I wanted in our hour of need. We were looking for vintage or vintage styled wedding bands in platinum which would match my wife's engagement ring and they delivered a pair of beautiful rings which not only match her engagement ring, but one another as if they were made for one another. Doyle and Doyle were incredibly responsive to every request we made, have the inventory to meet a variety of style needs, and resized my ring 3 times to make sure the fit was perfect. I cannot recommend Doyle and Doyle enough, whether you plan to shop in person or online. The selection of vintage and estate pieces is top notch and reasonably priced. I bought a beautiful Edwardian ring from them that they resized in just a couple of days and shipped with care. Their customer service is excellent and they are very responsive.

I had a fantastic experience working with Elizabeth and her team. I know nothing about jewelry and was lucky to find Doyle & Doyle based on their reviews/reputation. Believe the hype! They have an amazing selection of vintage/antique jewelry, great communication and they answered all of my newbie questions with patience and kindness. Doyle & Doyle is the gem of gems! My husband and I couldn’t afford the perfect ring when we first got married. Doyle & Doyle has been a favorite store for unique jewelry for many years. They have amazing vintage pieces. The prices come in a wide range. The service is excellent - knowledgeable, responsive (for example, they worked with me on adjusting the shipping timing to accommodate some travel dates).

Doyle & Doyle has the most exquisite jewelry in NYC. My engagement ring was purchased here and I get compliments about it all the time. The best part of owning jewelry from Doyle & Doyle is that it is unique and by buying estate jewelry you are basically...helping the planet! The location is sumptuous and the icing on the cake is our interaction with Arturo. He made us feel so welcome and he is knowledgable and patient. If you are looking for one-of-a-kind pieces, you don't need to go anywhere else.

I was very excited to visit this pretty little store. I bought three pieces of vintage Picasso jewelry from them, so I was more then ready to be wowed! I wasn't wowed at all. This is a fairly pretentious store. There aren't counters but rather glass enclosed displays on the walls. It's hard to look at everything and there is really not much to see. They graciously offered us water and this was nice for my son to sit down and relax for a few minutes. It doesn't take long to see the displays. There are some nice pieces but nothing I went crazy over. It's funny because I get their catalog and really thought the store would be special. I did see one pair of earrings and a ring. When I asked the sales lady what the price would be, I was shot down pretty quickly with, "We price everything correctly so that's the price." Okay. First the prices are very very high. They can price their jewelry at anything they want. I just think it would have been so much smarter if she got the pieces out so I could see if they are truly wonderful. Maybe I would have fallen in love with something if I could have seen what they are like rather then trying to see them in the case. Just a thought for the sales team. Also, knowing that I love Picasso, she could have directed me to something she could imagine I'd like. Suffice to say, we didn't buy anything. Then she said, "Thank you for gracing us with your presence today." What a strange comment. As I said, pretentious. I wasn't impressed at all. I didn't buy anything but it was nice of them to offer a glass of water. Total visit time, under 7 minutes.

Extensive and beautiful collection of one of a kind vintage and antique jewelry. Owners are extremely knowledgeable and very nice. I highly recommend this business!

I ultimately did not find my engagement ring from here but just wanted to say that the 2 times I visited were both really pleasant! Both Pam and Kathryn were super patient and not at all pushy, but I really have to thank Pam for helping me understand that searching for an engagement ring isn't about "oh it's so pretty, I like it", but more about what it makes you feel when you wear it. She totally shifted my outlook when going ring shopping and it was invaluable. They have a great selection and really lovely pieces, definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking for some unique jewelry!

Fabulous service and very friendly and helpful sales associate, Jessica. We were greeted by her and she helped us through the process of finding the most suitable bands for us. They don't really have a lot of big and gorgeous engagement rings. Their strong suit is idefinitely the estate and antique pieces. The price is good and you can definitely see some unusual pieces.

I got lucky and stumbled upon D&D early on in my search for an engagement ring. Like other reviewers, I initially assumed it might be much to expensive for me but I ended up with a wonderful custom ring that was well within my budget. I know very little about jewelry and all the associated terminology but being guided by D&D's Catherine DeGraw & Darren was unbelievably helpful, both before & after purchase. The store is extremely nice and all the jewelry is wonderfully displayed & lighted. Nice mix of vintage & new pieces (which can also be customized). My fiancé and I also bought our wedding bands here and couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.

I have been a customer of Doyle & Doyle for years. Every single piece that I have purchased is even better than the picture and description you see online. I recently purchased several antique gold bands. The jewelers at Doyle and Doyle resized them to fit me like a glove. Additionally the original inscriptions inside the bands are untouched and such an important part of my decision to buy them. If you are looking for a beautiful gift for a loved one or a special treat for yourself you cannot go wrong with something lovely from Doyle & Doyle.

never in my life could I have imagined service and beauty like this. Anna was SO thoughtful, on top of my search, communicative and lovely. She listened to every request and truly did help my fiancé find the PERFECT sapphire ring for me. as if that wasn't enough, when I was ready to look for an engagement gift for my soon to be wife, she held my hand through every step and went out of her way to search for the desired outcome -- an Art Deco gold pocket watch. I can not recommend this place enough. if you want to own ANY piece of antique jewelry look no further. they care and their eye is perfection!

Going to Doyle & Doyle is like falling into a treasure chest. The antique pieces are beautiful and well cared for, and there's such a vast selection of jewelry, I once spent an entire afternoon perusing... which takes me to my next comment. Anna R. is a gem (pun intended). She's helpful and honest, offering real feedback when the pieces are too blindingly beautiful to choose. My pieces from D&D are my favorites and the people are warm and friendly and accommodating which is why I'll be visiting again soon no matter how hard my wallet tugs me the other way!

I'm not a sunglasses person. I have UV resistant contacts, and I use that as an excuse to not wear sunglasses, no matter how bright it is. It's weird I know. But even more than wearing sunglasses, i dislike being around people who wear sunglasses. I focus so much on a person's eyes, that I find it difficult to understand--or sometimes even recognize--people without seeing their eyes. Anyway, if you are at all sensitive to light, you may want to wear sunglasses in this place. They have an incredible collection of sparkly stuff in every color imaginable. I know, I don't sound all that sophisticated when it comes to jewelry and I'm really not. Laura was very helpful in picking out a gift for my girlfriend here. The presentation of the jewelry is interesting....they have a mixture of estate and commercial jewelry at all price levels, all styles, all types in various cases that are scattered throughout the store. It is kind of fun to look around if you're the kind of guy who likes to spoil your girlfriend--especially if she spoils you in her own way. I had an idea that I was going to get earrings in green for her...or maybe red because red is sexy, but she wants green, so--yes--green. What a selection, is all I can say. She confidently requested my price point to avoid wasting time (typical New Yorker, haha) and found the most gorgeous pair of peridot earrings. Let me tell you, those things sparkled like diamonds--I thought it was some sort of optical illusion caused by the store's lighting. Laura then spent several minutes explaining to me the store's very attractive return policy: 7 day return, 14 day exchange. Not bad. I was impressed. And so was my girlfriend. Turns out it wasn't a lighting trick at all, these babies sparkle in the warm California sun like you've never seen. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my experience at Doyle & Doyle. I know that there are only a few jewelry places that get gems with good cuts, but the great thing about D&D is that they have them at fairly affordable prices as well. This place gets the clueless boyfriend stamp of approval.

Hidden Gem! (pun intended..) I found this place through way of my old-bling loving cousin. It is classy, smart and classic. I love the LACK in marketing both inside and outside the store. Its not the ginormous Tiffany flooded with tourists. Who wants a ring or bracelet that ANYBODY can find. D&D is secret...special and the perfect spot to pick up some romantic gems for anyone! pps...love the door. so antiquey. ppps and you dont need to be afraid to enter...you can easily browse without buying. ..and YES there is totally gift-friendly affordable stuff here, all wrapped in a cute navy blue box.

In the young and reckless summer of my life, my boyfriend caressed my ring finger in longing and I knew exactly what he meant. I also knew exactly where to go. Though the selection at Doyle & Doyle appears limited, the highly curated collection always has a "sigh, I wish, I hope, is it time yet" ring waiting. I selected a perfect platinum and yellow gold Edwardian ring, noted the item number, and it was quickly sold to a mysterious buyer. Six months later, as the coolness of winter reality fell over me, my ringless finger wised up. My lovely choice was hidden somewhere in our house. I quickly found it and wore it the entire weekend I packed my bags to leave that psycho.

This place saved us. We aren't ready to buy a diamond ring for me, but in the meantime we wanted wedding bands. After going to Tiffany's (one of my many misguided forays into midtown Manhattan, each time burdened with the mistaken impression that you can't go wrong if you do what everyone else appears to do), where everything was overpriced, and the ambiance was tacky, we actually took a taxi downtown and ended up at Doyle and Doyle, where we were helped right away by a nice girl who measured us and promptly produced many attractive options for plain gold wedding bands. For two yellow gold wedding bands, which we liked and which, mysteriously, had a warmer sheen than at Tiffany's (maybe it's the lighting...) we spent under 1000 dollars. They are resizing my ring slightly, which costs about $40. Engraving is $10/character and takes 2 weeks. We'll do it after the wedding. The other jewelry in the store was very beautiful, antique and unique. I was really struck by a lovely coral necklace and by some of the Art Deco platinum diamond rings... The ambiance is unpretentious, a little vintage, youthful and very LES/Brooklyn. If you feel more comfortable in Brooklyn than Manhattan, if you don't really like doing things as other people do them, if you HATE midtown, if you are getting married without registering at pottery barn, but you still want something elegant and high quality, this is the place for you.

When my wife and I decided to shop together for an engagement ring, we headed to NYC for a day in the diamond district. TERRIBLE IDEA. Within an hour, my poor wife, who just wanted a nice estate ring, was crying and saying "I don't even want a ring anymore. I don't even want one!" She didn't do well with high-pressure sales folks. Luckily, we had an ace up our collective sleeves- somehow, she had stumbled on a recommendation for Doyle and Doyle. We hopped on down there, walked in, and it was like the clouds parted and a single ray of sunlight fell on the lower east side. The selection was amazing. We had not found a single ring we liked anywhere else, and here we were trying to choose between six different rings, all of which were gorgeous and very, very reasonably priced. If you're looking to avoid the ethical problems of the diamond industry, but you still gotta have that sparkly, estate rings are a great way to go. And Doyle and Doyle is the #1 shop for great estate rings. The staff was incredibly helpful, and their sizing/appraisal service did a great job. The new rings (mostly wedding bands) were great and very vintage-inspired, and it's helpful to have that on hand as matching a band to an estate ring can be difficult. They were mostly (maybe entirely, my memory is fuzzy) made with Canadian, not African, diamonds.

I asked my bestie, brother Francis if he'd be my date to Doyle & Doyle. I hadn't been since I lived there (before they moved), I was really looking forward to this being my one gem-stop during this trip. You know how it goes, family and friends--it's hard to fit it all in. . Anyhoo, when I pressed the buzzer, my first impression was that D&D looked like a museum, with its treasures glimmering from behind crystalline glass. And then came GIA Jodi. The beautiful look-but-don't-touch displays were immediately counteracted by her warmth. . A former teacher, Jodi was eager to inform me about certain antique jewelry terms (i.e., swag) and has in depth knowledge of each piece, though the museum-like descriptions of the encased pieces serve as a nice cheat-sheet. So, I gave Jodi my list: non-blue sapphires, opals, Alexandrite, and lockets/ pendants. There was no "Alex" because as soon as they come in, they're out again, but everything else was there. I'm still dizzy-giddy from the visit.

A tiny store, but lovely. Their estate pieces are displayed in frames on the walls, just like everyone else said in their reviews, but it really is a great way to use the small space they have. The staff is friendly and attentive. I'm sure they make a commission on their sales, but it doesn't show at all. I don't buy a lot of jewelry, and i was there with a friend who had no idea what they wanted when we walked into this store, but the staff treated us like adults instead of an annoyance. Our questions were answered, our concerns addressed, and my friend walked out an hour later poorer but delighted. Should i ever need to shop for jewelry, this will be my first stop.

You would think that beautiful diamond rings would be abundant in New York...not the case if you're looking for something with character and one-of-a-kindness. When my fiance and I started looking for rings last year, we saw a lot of generic rings that didn't speak to us. Everyone said to try the diamond district, so we did...and realized that the same people who tell you to go there are the same people who tell you that everyone MUST visit Vegas. It's just not true and I don't know why that myth is propelled. I started to think that I wasn't going to fall in love with any rings and I would just have to accept that. But one trip to Doyle and Doyle rejuvenated my faith in jewelry. I loved their well-curated selection of estate rings (although they also have non-estate jewelry, too). The ring we fell in love with at Doyle and Doyle is from the 1930's with deco styling. We picked out a stone with an Old European Cut, which gave the ring further charm...perfection! The one thing I'd disagree with other reviews here is that the employees here are friendly. They're certainly not mean, but they're not trying to be your friend...I'd describe them all as competent, professional, informed, patient and stylish.

The first time I walked into Doyle & Doyle, I immediately thought it was too fancy and expensive for me. I was looking for a wedding band - simple but just a wee bit special - and happened here almost on accident. I described to Anna what I was going for and she brought out multiple options that fit my description and were in the range of my (measly) budget. Anna was patient and kind and honest and fun to talk to. She helped me pick the band I wanted, not the one that I thought I was supposed to have (based on society/family/wedding blog expectations). Post-wedding, I can happily report that I love my wedding band more and more and that, thanks to Anna, I made the right choice. I would heartily recommend Doyle & Doyle to anyone looking for a special piece of jewelry. They'll take care of you and make you feel super fancy and special in the process.

I like the museum-like layout of the store, where it feels like you're walking through an art gallery...which it kind of is! The space is wide and open, with plenty of mirrors so you can be tempted to imagine what you'd look like wearing the jewelry. I was a tad bit put off by the double doors almost made me feel like I was in a Skinner box. They have a great but limited selection of jewelry on display, though a saleswoman told me this was only 30% of their stock. I was drawn to a gold bracelet shaped like a key turned in on itself, with a padlock hanging off on a chain. It was here that I discovered how beautiful moonstones are. However, I was there with a friend to look at a graduation gift for her sister, so I can't vouch for their wedding rings. We didn't find anything that suited her, but it seemed like the other customers were pretty satisfied. We felt a little pressed by the service there, as we were asked multiple times if we wanted help when we were just browsing, but that can be subjective.

I stopped in at Doyle and Doyle during my marathon, three-day-long, try on every ring in NYC search for an engagement ring, which of course ended with me deciding on the first ring I tried on. On a weekday afternoon, the store was quiet, and the staff let me browse until I asked for help. I was struck by the way the merchandise is displayed here- the store is really quite small, but it feels spacious because there are no big display cases to clutter things up. I spent a couple minutes looking at the rings, which are displayed in shadowbox frames, and then asked to try a few on. The salesgirl who helped me was friendly and willing to bring out any ring I asked for. However, she was not great at suggesting other rings for me to look at, nor did she offer to bring anything out from their stock. I was impressed by the stock they had, though- a nice selection of estate rings, mostly Edwardian and Art Deco, all in good condition, and most in the $4K-$10K range. Compared to the other estate pieces that I looked at during my search, their prices seemed to be a little on the high side. However, the store seemed reputable, and I like that they offer ring sizing and will service any piece they sell, since I would not want to take something with delicate workmanship to just any jeweler for repairs. I would have been more comfortable buying an estate ring from D&D than from one of the booths in the diamond district, or from eBay (both places I checked out). Honestly, if the salesgirl had been more proactive in helping me find a ring, it's likely I would have found one here, but she wasn't, so I didn't. That being said, D&D has a great selection of estate jewelry and I would definitely recommend it to friends who are considering estate rings. I would probably come back, too, if I'm in the market for antique jewelry.

Curated. Lovely. Perfect. This little gem of a shop is so perfect. We stopped by to look at some pieces they had advertised on their site. In person, the presentation is a cross between a gallery and someone's special jewelry closet. The saleswoman was really sweet, not pushy, and showed us pieces not exhibited in the style we were interested in. They have a backstock of merchandise they can pull from so just ask. The prices are quite reasonable, especially compared to other NYC vintage jewelry dealers. Their selection us always tops and exquisite. Whether searching for an engagement ring or special gift, I highly recommend a trip here... D&D will make the experience special.

My now-fiance purchased my engagement ring from here and I cannot say enough good things about Doyle & Doyle. Not only is my 1929 Art Deco engagement ring absolutely stunning, but the service that my MoH and I received when we went back to inquire about sizing and wedding bands was superb. After a quick online search for other NYC vintage/antique-jewelers that carried wedding bands, I now know that I will definitely be returning to Doyle & Doyle. Even if not for the specific ring I found yesterday, I can tell that their selection, and even their prices, are hard to match. My fiance was lucky enough to work with Jodi for a little over a month on the selection of my engagement ring. I happened to meet her during my afternoon visit, and she was so impressive in helping me find a wedding band that beautifully complimented my ring. There were a few on the floor that I THOUGHT I liked, and she ended up bringing three out from the back room that I actually fell in love with. I could go on and on. Doyle & Doyle is so great. I look forward to returning for our wedding bands purchase.

This place is simply a gem with, well, gems! Exquisite, carefully chosen pieces of the antique or vintage variety sparkle out from boxes on the walls in this teeny shop. They have their own line of jewelry too, which is really cute and typically less expensive than the real antique stuff. Good variety of prices. The thing I like best about this place is that even though it is teeny tiny, it feels so laid back and just fun to shop around here. The salespeople are all young and friendly and do not give off that dreaded snooty salesperson vibe you get in some jewelry stores. I shopped for engagement rings here to figure out what I liked, and I'm lucky that my guy paid attention! I ended up with a gorgeous ring he based on a unique art deco ring we spied at Doyle & Doyle.

I love this place so much. Great customer service, and the sales girls are very helpful and approachable. It's a great place with character and somehow manages to offer high-quality jewelry without intimidating customers. Fortunately, I've had good boyfriends (and a soon-to-be husband) who have good taste, and have bought me nice jewelry from here. My fiance bought my engagement ring here, and it is absolutely stunning and always gets compliments -- even from men! We also bought our wedding rings here; very pleased with them. This place is absolutely worth checking out. My only critique is that I've often wanted to know more about my jewelry, what year it was made and things like that; it is, after all, an estate shop. If you're going to offer jewelry with character, know more about the pieces for your customers. I took my ring to a gemologist-type person who could tell me more about the ring than the sales girl. This is a minor point, however, and I will continue to shop here when I'm looking for something special.

My fiance and I went all over Manhattan searching for the perfect ring for our engagement. We finally found our ring at Doyle and Doyle, where we saw a rather extensive collection of antique/estate/vintage jewelry. The costumer service at Doyle and Doyle put me and my boyfriend at ease. They were really upfront about pricing and return policy. After dealing with the hustlers in the Diamond district, being treated so well at Doyle and Doyle was really refreshing. What I really loved about this place was how good their jewelry looked. Most places with antique jewelry carried many pieces that didnt look well taken care of, or pieces without the most skilled craftsmanship. You can tell that Doyle and Doyle selects only the highest quality antique jewelry, all the pieces had maintained their beauty, but also you can tell that these pieces were crafted by master jewelers. Doyle and Doyle is a true gem, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a beautiful and quality piece of jewelry.

I recently went on a jewelry store excursion in NYC to buy my girlfriend the ultimate birthday present. I didn't have any particular piece in mind but I knew eventually I would stumble upon something perfect for her. Let me just say I went to a lot of stores before I found this tidy store. Reviewing jewelry stores seems very subjective seeing that it's art and therefore viewed differently by each person. Let me say though, that I knew I was looking for a vintage-style necklace and I tried many stores that stated they sell such jewelry. There are a few reasons why I enjoyed my experience here so much, but let me just start with the fact that D&D sells real vintage (heirloom) jewelry and their own custom designs that follow similar patterns and techniques - exactly what I was looking for, albeit missing from many other stores. The entrance to the store is very unassuming and prior to entering you have to be buzzed in twice (wait for the first door to close behind you before trying to enter...). The layout looks like a gallery which is very nice. Also, all the prices are displayed clearly, which is always a plus if you have a budget. I was greeted upon entering the store and wasn't pressured or rushed at all. I don't enjoy sales people clinging to you, I'd rather have some space. Especially when I'm not looking for a precise item or style. I immediately identified 3-4 pieces that my girlfriend would love (which is 3-4 more than I found in the first 10+ stores I visited). The sales woman (sorry, I forgot her name) was helpful and in addition to showing me all the pieces I picked out, she pulled some additional ones from the back. Needless to say, my girlfriend loved the necklace. Granted this place is her style, but I would come back here to shop for the quality, service, and reasonable prices that D&D offers.

My fiance and I had searched high and low for the perfect estate or antique ring. Doyle and Doyle was the "diamond in the rough" that provided a selection far more unique and beautiful than any other place we looked. There were rings in absolutely every price range, not to mention the wide selection of necklaces, earrings, pendants, pins and men's cuff links and bands in some of the most interesting styles I have ever seen. I am SO SO happy with my ring- it's a true art deco piece and the most beautiful thing I have ever owned. Jessica, who works at Doyle and Doyle, was fantastic and very helpful. I highly recommend this store to everyone!

I have to stop wandering in here. No more gazing at the Victorian lavalieres and diamond encrusted deco earrings. Bad Janna! Seriously, though, if I ever were to get engaged, Doyle and Doyle is where I'd direct the fiance. Their selection of unique estate rings is quite staggering. They do have some less expensive selections, and there are quite a few pieces under $1,000, but Doyle and Doyle is still, sadly, just for dreaming, at present. Dream away!

The store is a real treasure. They have the most beautiful, interesting items. Have made several purchases there and all have worked out well. The staff is tremendously helpful and welcoming. It is truly a pleasure to work with them. We lost an earring and they were able to send us a single replacement. So nice.

The atmosphere of Doyle and Doyle is very relaxed. I came here to scoop out their engagement rings and at no point was anything shoved down my throat. They let me try everything on, told me the history of the rings, and offered up advice on how to choose. They didn't try to sell me on the most expensive ring but the one that was right for me (which incidentally turned out to be the cheapest =) ). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The ring selection is amazing - all of the pieces are original and one of a kind. Check out their website to get a sense of their collection. Also, if you don't see exactly what you like just ask them...I think they have some special stuff in the back =)

This place was the greatest when it was in the East Village. A little bit of rock and roll and a lot of timeless elegance. Something changed when they moved to the meat packing district...presumably the Doyle sisters' net worth. I get it, there's a lot of money to be made selling finance bros their engagement rings. But some of the magic was lost. They still have a remarkable collection but it used to be THE spot for stunning, one-of-kind pieces, across the whole price and weight spectrum, and now it seems a lot more hit or miss. I don't begrudge them their upgrade in life, but I do miss the thrill of walking into the old shop knowing that you were sure to have your breath taken away every time.

Bought an engagement ring here this past summer. Hala helped me out and I couldn't have been happier with the relationship her company and I have created by how understanding they are to my budget, wants, and needs. I NEVER felt pressured to buy up and was given honest opinions about each ring I looked at. Hala conversed and helped me really pin-point which ring was the right ring for my fiance. Her and her company, after speaking with the other sales associates, really wanted to take the time and get to know me and my fiance so all bases were covered. I really cannot speak more highly of the sales associates and the company in general. It's not just a business. It's a business that cares about the happiness of their customers through their product, which they are noticeably proud of. Many many thanks, after a few months after purchase, to Hala.

Poor Post-Purchase Customer Service; Makes Empty Promises to Close Sales Doyle & Doyle has gorgeous jewelry, but their after-purchase customer service and unclear exchange/return policy leave something to be desired. --We will not be purchasing our wedding bands here or recommending Doyle & Doyle to our friends. Knowing how particular I am, my fiance expressly asked about their exchange & return policy, to which the salesperson said she'd extend the date out based on his proposal date. Thinking I had time to decide, I got the ring re-sized, thinking I'd eat the cost ($100) if I decided to swap. When the ring came back, I came clean to my fiance and expressed how I felt that the ring didn't reflect me, my style or how I felt about our relationship. Fraught with mixed emotions, we went to the store and asked if an exchange was possible. We were told we were a week late. Turns out, the other salesperson never extended the exchange date. I offered to pay for the "free" re-size. The salesperson said that the owner said that they could not, especially after the re-size (wish they would have said so much prior to the re-size). No apology for the exchange date mix-up, no acknowledgment of just how difficult and emotional it was for us to stand there trying to do this. Such a bad memory. Doyle & Doyle--since you ARE in the engagement ring business, at least have the decency to acknowledge that an engagement ring is a significant purchase and treat your customers like people who just put down a chunk of their life savings at your business!

Last fall, my best friend and I decided to go "get ideas" for my upcoming engagement. We went to Tiffany's where I became so overwhelmed by the negative, pushy atmosphere that we left midway through trying on the rings we liked. Our very next stop was Doyle and Doyle. After Tiffany's, the store itself seemed like a breath of fresh air. The staff were extremely helpful and it felt like they enjoyed the process of trying on the jewelry as much as we did! I fell in love with a stunning Art-Deco ring and went running home to tell my then-boyfriend all about it. Two months later, we went back to Doyle and Doyle, hoping it was still there. By some miracle, it was! As soon as my fiancé walked into the story to purchase the ring with me, he was so impressed by the charm of the store and the friendliness of the employees and so he decided to purchase his wedding ring there as well. We've now both had to get our rings re-sized and appraised at Doyle and Doyle, so we end up in the store every few weeks for one reason or another. Each time, we feel welcomed like old friends. Wendy, Matthew, and Jacob, in particular, have been so sweet and patient with my fiancé who can be very finicky and isn't thrilled with the idea of wearing jewelry (I always tell him I don't care if he wears a ring and he always says that he wants to...). Wendy also helped me with a bridal meltdown as my diamond came loose a month before the wedding. She wiped my tears and told me they'd take care of it and sure enough, my ring came back looking even more spectacular than when I first bought it. We're both thrilled with our rings and thankful that Doyle and Doyle made the entire process one of the easiest and most fun parts about our entire engagement/wedding planning process!

I was told that Doyle & Doyle was the premier jeweler for antique rings. I made a beeline there to have my great grandmother's engagement ring and wedding band re-sized. I only wanted experienced professionals to handle the job. i went on a Saturday afternoon, and was buzzed into the store. When I inquired with the receptionist about getting my ring re-sized, she said sure, that she would get someone to help me. However, when she found out that the ring was not purchased at their store, she changed her tune. Apparently it is their policy NOT to re-size rings that weren't purchased at Doyle & Doyle. I'm so disappointed. I was really looking for a reliable jeweler to buy a second antique band from. But Doyle & Doyle will not be that jeweler.

Doyle & Doyle carries gorgeous antique and estate fine jewelry. The website has a comprehensive listing of available and sold pieces. The store is very small and displays their collection like a gallery. Pieces are tastefully framed. The staff is helpful and polite. Doyle & Doyle gets heavy fashion editorial coverage, thus price tags are hefty. Any piece from here would make a special gift for someone or yourself. They have unique vintage engagement rings as well.

This is officially my favorite jewelry store in the world. When I walked in, I realized how much the taste of the jeweler matters, because I saw jewelry unlike anything I'd seen at other antique stores. Everything is displayed beautifully, framed and inset into the wall--curated, really. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly; in fact, the greatest thing I can say (besides the fact that I finally found my engagement ring here) is that when the woman offered to bring pieces out from the back for me to look at, I loved everything she brought out, and everything was less expensive than the rings I already had out. They have lovely pieces you could buy a car for as well as gorgeous stuff that really won't break the bank. They truly care about the magic of a piece and not how much it costs (although there's plenty to shell out for, too).

I've never actually been to D&D, but I found their website through Martha Stewart Weddings (I think) and recently ordered my wedding band through them. They have a beautiful collection of antique/estate jewelry, at really reasonable prices. I was expecting to spend a lot more on my wedding band but it ended up being under $400, which was fantastic. Customer service was excellent and they shipped my ring very carefully. I would definitely recommend this place for unique wedding bands w/history.

i actually activated my yelp profile to write this review. i'm shocked that anyone could give them less than 5 stars. this place is incredible - an immaculately curated collection of antique and vintage jewelry. you feel like you're in a museum - but get customer service like that of a great mom & pop shop. i'd been shopping around looking for rings (neither i nor my fiancé trust his taste in jewelry) and similarly to other reviewers, was underwhelmed by everything in our price range. but coming to doyle & doyle, matthew gave me a range of amazing options - and never once did i feel pressured to look at anything out of our budget, or given shade about how low it was, even though they have rings that are actually thirty times that range. i found *the* ring but came home sad because i knew that by the time my fiancé would be ready to ask, it'd be sold. or so i thought. my partner went to the shop, asked what i'm sure were endless nervous questions, put the ring on hold, and then came back for it within a week. i know that doyle & doyle played some small part in his being ready to pop the question. he didn't have time to get it sized, so i had to get it done after the proposal. it was super hard to part with. matthew told me that july is jeweler's month off, so i was shocked to receive my ring resized 16 DAYS before he'd promised it. and when i wound up thinking that the ring size i'd picked was a little bit too small, matthew was honest and agreed with me, and sent the ring back, even though it meant more work for him and his colleagues. i cannot wait to get my ring, and have nothing but amazing things to say about the experience. we went to doyle & doyle on the recommendation of some good friends, and i will happily recommend them whenever i'm asked about my ring.

My boyfriend and I have been searching for an antique engagement ring. I found Doyle & Doyle online and was excited to go to the shop. The actual shopping experience was great. Audra was friendly and helpful and we ended up finding 2 rings we both liked. The problem came afterwards. We weren't yet ready to purchase a ring because we were still looking at other shops so we filled out an information card to have Audra email us photos and information about the two rings we liked best. The email never arrived. I'm not sure if our information card was lost or if we didn't look serious enough about buying something, but I was disappointed. Since visiting Doyle & Doyle we have been to shops where the salespeople have been just as friendly and helpful and have even gone so far as to take professional photos of my favorite rings on my finger and email them to us along with the ring information. My ring will certainly come from one of these stores, not Doyle & Doyle.

Staff was very nice when we walked in - however this is vintage jewelry! We walked in expecting regular jewelry! It should say this in the description.

We ordered our wedding bands from Doyle & Doyle and were told they would take 1 month. The date we were given to pick them up, my husband called to confirm they were ready and the order was no were to be seen in their system. We had asked them if they would have enough time to make & engrave our wedding bands and they said yes, of course. The day came, and of course they weren't ready. I got very upset because of this undelivered promise (which we had written proof on the receipt). They said, ok yes, we will have it to you in 2 days. So, we picked the rings up. My husband was treated with extreme disrespect and attitude, as if we were the ones in the wrong. Upon realizing that they had made a mistake, they rushed them and provided us with rings that were of inferior quality, not even engraved (as per our request- and payment), and just looked plain dreadful. The lady we spoke with on the phone said that the saleswoman had no right to give us that date, that she was wrong but in the end it was too little, too late. We decided to return the rings. We recommend Satomi Kawakita, who not only delivered on time, but also gave beautiful, simple wedding bands that were really worth it. Although Doye & Doyle has a beautiful vintage collection, the costumer service is horrible. Good luck!

Went to buy engagement rings today and was floored by the excellent staff. They have a really cool selection of vintage pieces as well. Beautiful location. We went here based on the recommendation of a friend, and we both couldn't have been happier.
