DOZO JAPANESE CUISINE

They were very nice but I personally would never recommend and won’t be returning. I ordered the steak and scallop hibachi. I asked for my steak to be medium rare it was practically raw. I felt bad complaining since the chef already left out table and turned off the grill. I went home and tried to cook it more but it’s just awful. It was also I feel a little too expensive for the quality and portion. We were in and out the door in under 40 minutes, it was very fast.

My husband and I visited Dozo on our 29th wedding anniversary. This was the first time we had been there, and it will not be the last. Service was quick so we food not have to wait to receive our meals. From the time we walked in, we were greeted with kindness. Our server was so sweet and attentive. We ordered Crab Rangoon as an appetizer. The order had 5 savory filled pockets of deliciousness on the platter. My husband loves sushi and so he ordered the Amazing Roll, and he said it lived up to its name. It was loaded with tempura shrimp and cream cheese and topped with crab. Our entrees were next. I chose combo shrimp and steak while my husband chose tempura shrimp and vegetables. Both were delicious, seasoned well, and very large portions. I chose soup with mine while his came with the salad. The portions were large enough for us to have plenty for at least 2 more meals. This was a great choice for us to celebrate our anniversary, and we look forward to our next visit.

New to area for now. The service was great and attentive probably due to slower hours on a Sunday. There is a lunch menu that ends at 3pm, but pricing (sushi) didn't seem reasonable. Their serving ware like plates and glasses were different. That didn't change the taste of the foods. The sushi was very good. The sushi rice was perfect. Very good rolls. If u try the fried ice cream, ask what flavor it is before ordering. My table got a freezer burn strawberry. Everything is going up in cost. My bill was over $100 for 4.

We had our 29th anniversary supper here. The food was tasty and plentiful. The staff was cheerful and attentive. Good sushi and tempura.

This place is definitely worth going to. I wish I had gotten the lunch special, because despite the beauty of the dish I got I felt it was a little high in price for the amount of food I got. Service was courteous and not too frequent. The table near us was having a wonderful. time getting Hibachi, their laughter was infectious. I wish this place a lot of success as a lover of Asian cuisine!

Amazing the food is awesome and the service is top notch . It’s clean and well taken care of and this was a lunch meal. Big plates of food. You will not be disappointed

The Sushi and Roll lunch plate was fantastic! Fresh fish, good sized cuts, with miso soup, and a roll, very filling! Service was great, but the atmosphere was a little interesting with drink coolers in the eating area along with trinkets you can also buy lining the wall. Overall I god back. They also have a hibachi which is good for those that are down for a show and some Chinese food.

I went in super hungry so I ordered two rolls, an order of salmon sashimi (3 piece), and a margarita! The rolls (Jessie's roll and Sunkist roll) were large, and the salmon sashimi melted in my mouth like butter!! I did take half of my rolls home because I could not finish them haha the service was very prompt and polite. No wait to be seated on a Friday night.

This family owned restaurant is one of our favorites. The staff is very friendly and will absolutely accommodate your needs. The food is abundant and perfectly prepared. The menu is complete. My wife and I are regulars.

Food was amazing! Steak and chicken Hibachi was on point, the service was prompted, and the ambiance was just perfect for a dinner for two. Come try them out. Friendly staff and food was greats.

Top notch sushi and hibachi. The Amazing Roll was as good as any sushi Roll I've ever had. The hibachi was excellent. I ordered the NY Strip hibachi, but got to try the Chicken and the Filet. Both were good - but the NY Strip was by far the most flavorful. The salad, fried shrimp, and edamame were all great. The chefs and servers and servers were fun and efficient. Great place!

I have been going here for Hibachi since Dozo has been open. I will say this food is in my opinion the best in town for the price. Place is clean and the food is great. I read some reviews where it said the food was bland? Nope, very tasty and the service is awesome! Very friendly folks! I'm done with other places in town such as Yellow T, and RNT Sushi. This place has really good sushi! A must go to!

What can I say about this place other than, everybody needs to check it out at least once. I promise you after one visit, you'll want to become a regular. The food was amazing! I had the chicken and shrimp hibachi, crunchy shrimp tempura, and the crab ragoon. All were extremely delicious and very filling. Loved the decor, and the set up of the restaurant. Definitely felt like I had space to move around, and the lighting was perfect. Can't leave this post without talking about the amazing staff. From the beginning to the end, everybody was very attentive, extremely nice, and made sure the birthday boy (well man, he's 41) really had a great time. Will visit this establishment again (next time I'll have some pics to go with it, all I have is a few videos).

The food is great! The restaurant is clean and the staff is attentive. This is a solid choice and the lunch pricing was very reasonable for the big portion!!

Mike the owner served and cooked our Hibachi -- it was fantastic !! The flavor was very good and was not as heavy or used as much ginger thats in other Hibachi places in Clarksville -- it was a welcomed change. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 They have wine, beer, and liquor although not mentioned on their online menu. We will be back -- Thanks Mike !! Also, I liked that everything is new and clean at this restaurant ... so no slipping around on their floors.

Dozo is a great experience! The interior was clean and well kept, my kids loved the fish tank and the turtle. I really enjoyed the smaller Hibachi table! The servers were very attentive and kind, always making sure we had drinks and any refills. The Hibachi chef was very talented and funny. We were fortunate enough to get the wonder and wow did he know how to cook! By far the best tasting Hibachi I have had in Clarksville. The portions were very good sized. I just can't say enough how wonderful this experience was. They were so kind and again the chef was such a fun person!

We thought the hibachi filet mignon was very good. The price was reasonable and the server very friendly. Lovely environment as well. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and they brought out the cutest little spinning candle thingy and ice cream.

Great food, fun chefs. We have been there multiple times. If you want a really great deal, eat hibachi at lunch. The price is phenomenal for the amount of food you receive

such delicious food, great lunch prices and such nice people. The hibachi. Is fun to watch and the cooks are so nice. Love this place. We go there every chance we get and take everyone we know there.

Why all the 1 star reviews??? In all honesty Yelp reviews are worthless and biased. It's where people come just to complain about crap, you can ignore them. You want to see the real reviews? Look on Google Reviews, this place is a 4.3 out of 5. We've ate there several times since they opened up and have had no issues or complaints. The service is always excellent, the ambiance was cozy and modern, and the food was superb. We ordered the filet and shrimp, which came with steak, shrimp, fried rice, vegetables, soup, and salad. The steak was juicy and tender, the shrimp was succulent and crispy, and the rice was fluffy and flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the soup and salad were refreshing and satisfying. We were served by Mike, the chef and owner and he was very skilled and entertaining. It was just my wife and I and no one else at the table so we were all able to talk freely with Mike while he was preparing our meal. We got to learn a little about him and his journey and he made the whole experience fun and interactive. The restaurant also has a great selection of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. I've tried several of the sushi platters and they were all delicious. The fish was fresh and smooth, and the rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The spicy tuna roll had a nice kick to it, and the salmon nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The presentation was also very appealing, with colorful sauces and garnishes. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Mike expressed several times how important quality was to him. The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. They made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our visit. They also followed all the safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant also has a full bar with sake, beer, wine, and cocktails. I highly recommend Dozo Japanese Cuisine to anyone who loves Japanese food or hibachi. It is hands down the best Japanese restaurant in Clarksville, and one of the best I have ever been to. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes. It was ok. the rice was very salty (too much soy sauce?) The filet mignon doneness was good but the steak was under seasoned. The dipping sauce was bland as was the Thai Iced Tea. FYI: cooking on an iron griddle is NOT Hibachi. This is Teppanyaki. Why every "Japanese" restaurant in Clarksville calls is Hibachi is confusing.

It's beautiful inside, but the food is awful. I hate to say that, but it's bland, and just yuck. Especially for the price point. Just save yourself and go somewhere else.

I've never written a review but this place was so trash I gotta let people know I have been all over the place and all over the world. This place is the worst food I've ever paid $40 for. It was bland ... not even picture worthy.... Tasted like literally nothing. I got the Dozo special noodles .... Trash, I could of warmed up some top ramen and it would of been better, my sweet tea was not even sweet ... it tasted like watered down regular tea My wife got a shrimp lo mein... I donot even know how you mess that up... but they somehow did .. tasted like literally nothing ... governor square mall has better lo mein on a Sunday right before they close and want to get outta there Between our two entrees I swear there was 3 full onions cooked mixed with some frozen Walmart broccoli This place is trash

I've eaten here multiple times as well as take out. I've only ever had great service there and the food is so good! You get so much food for what you pay for! The owner, Mike, is super nice and personable and I love having a date night here. The decor is lovely and inviting and I look forward to the opportunities to patronize this business. Highly recommend!

Sashimi was yucky- the salmon was grey and the tuna smelled really fishy and the crab was fake crab sticks. Just a bummer

I have been to Dozo several times and have enjoyed it! The owner and the servers are very friendly! The food was good and the service was outstanding! The place is clean and I like the music that they play! Positive and Uplifting!

The place is beautiful.. but the food is not flavored, at all. I got a soup, that tasted like water with noodles. The appetizer was bland as well.

I truly enjoyed Dozo, the ambiance was beautiful but the food was even better. We had filet and shrimp hibachi. The rice, veggies and meat was delish. I had a glass of plum wine that didn't disappoint either. I was very impressed.

Absolutely awful. Ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi to go with veggie fried rice. The chicken was very obviously just boiled, the one piece I ate went right into my napkin. Zero seasoning or flavor anywhere. My vegetable fried rice had massive chunks of chicken in it. 0/10

I just had dinner with my boyfriend here and it was so delicious. I couldn't believe it wasn't crowded. The staff took care of us, the decor was beautiful and the food was so tasty. Definitely worth the short drive to come out and enjoy the restaurant.

Absolutely horrible. Took my ladies daughter here for hibachi at lunch. Ordered 2 meals to be made there, and 2 to go. Received the amount of food for the 2 meals only. The food: flavorless. All for a cool $136 Spend your money somewhere else. Pure disappointment

I've been there twice in a week -- lunch with friends lead me to returning for dinner with my husband and another couple for hibachi. The food was very good and service was fast and friendly. We'll be back!

I have been looking for a good Japanese restaurant in Clarksville and Dozo's is it!! The food is amazing, the service is great !! The owner is definitely involved with the guests . Five stars for me!

This place is the worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. They just recently opened, but somehow their Google page has 57 five star reviews. The reviews are fake. The sushi was terrible, and fell apart instantly. They were out of the first two wines we ordered, and the sent over a roll we didn't order without telling us that they were out of the roll we ordered. The waitress said "I don't know" to every question we had. Also, they are extremely overpriced. I will never go here again.
