Dr. Stravinsky - Review - El Born - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"Not into weirdly pungent cocktails full of wacky ingredients like beetroot and goat’s cheese? Then keep it moving. Dr. Stravinsky is a booze-fueled fever dream for fermentation and distillation geeks. Old-school medicine bottles line the walls of this cocktail lounge that looks like a Wes Anderson pharmacy, beckoning you in from the pretty medieval alleyway outside like a moth to a flaming glass of absinthe. The remedies they contain are mainly in-house-distilled spirits, with ingredients like kefir, kombucha, and mushrooms often playing starring roles. Dr. Stravinsky isn’t everyone’s shot of foie-gras-flavored whisky (yes, they serve that too), but if the idea of a Negroni made with black truffle-infused mezcal, Campari, vermouth, and pungent Tête de Moine cheese makes you go all gooey inside, prioritize a visit—just don’t even think about asking to order off-menu, as the answer will be a curt yet succinct “no.”" - Isabelle Kliger

"Imagine a cross between a laboratory and a cocktail bar and you’ll have the successful experiment that is Dr. Stravinsky. In this dimly lit, dual-level space, surrounded by herb-filled glass jars, bubbling flasks, and test tubes, bartenders precisely pour, stir and shake various ingredients—including house-made tinctures, bitters, and syrups—with the skill of scientists. Expect inventively flavored concoctions like the Camp Nou, a refreshing mix of house-distilled gin and dill, thyme and cilantro syrup, and El Suculento, with tequila, mezcal, pepper syrup, and fresh coriander. No wonder that it garnered 2017’s Best New European Bar at the Mixology Bar Awards."

By far the best drinks so far! No surprise for a place on the world’s top 50 bars (previously). We love their menu with the mapping of different flavors. The decor is pretty cool with bottles labeled with the Stravinsky logo and the additional seating area being completely surrounded by the bottles herbs. All ingredients are house made!! Even the chips were delicious.

Google
I’ve had the chance to visit many of the world’s top 50 bars, and while this one had a cool atmosphere and a menu design reminiscent of M Bar in Singapore, it ended up being my least favorite. Our group of four each tried a different cocktail, but unfortunately, the flavors didn’t quite land for us. The drinks were overly complex and hard to enjoy—we found ourselves slowly sipping, struggling to finish even after 20 minutes. While I appreciate the creativity, the execution just didn’t work for our taste.

Google
Probably the best cocktail place in Barcelona now. Cocktails are unique and delicious. Take your time to choose the one you would like based on your preferences. Also some of the cocktails might be too unique or weird for you so consult your waiter. Also they have nice snacks. The price is not over the top - up to 14€ per drink. And the atmosphere and interior is really cool. Definitely worth a visit. Come early, it can get busy.

Google
Unreal cocktails - so unique and delicious. The team especially was amazing, from Danni, one of the barmen working on the door, to Davide who was amazing with explaining the cocktails. The drinks were incredible, the people working here makes this place even more special. Couldn’t recommend coming here more!

Steven Devore

Google
The cocktails here are absolutely amazing! They were some of the best I’ve ever had. The different flavor profiles and pairing of garnishes were incredible and I would highly recommend anything on the menu. Between my wife and I, we tried 3 different cocktails and all 3 were expertly crafted.

Google
You can understand why this bar has been voted one of the best in the world. From the service to the drinks (and even the snacks), the vibe is incredible, the drinks are incredible. It’s not your typical drinks menu, but that’s what makes it special. We stopped by prior to dinner and as we were a little hungry we ordered the crisps and they are possibly some of the best “bar” crisps we’ve ever eaten.

Google
Amazing local cocktail bar with unique menu. Absolutely a must do if you like cocktails. Everything was awesome. You might have a wait on a popular night the later you go.

Jonathan Lo

Google
Very meticulous from the drinks to the types of water glasses used depending on where you are sitting. Very particular about how many people can enter based on how many seats they have available, otherwise one has to wait outside until there is availability. Very creative drinks where one can select the specific flavor based on your preferred palate.

Yelp
Rated as one of the best cocktail bars in the world, and for good reason. It's small and there's usually a wait, but in my experience, they turned tables quickly and the wait wasn't too bad. Interior is funky, with a bunch of weird jars holding various animal parts -- odd, but just part of the whole science-y vibe of the place. The most fun way to order is to look at their "cosmos" and find the intersection of flavor profiles you like, and then be surprised. But there's also regular menu descriptions if that's more your comfort level. Everything we tried was delicious, but our favorite was a tomato-based drink, which was super creative and surprising (wish I could remember the name, but again, we used the cosmos to order!). Overall, a unique experience and great cocktails. A must-visit in Barcelona.

Yelp
We had an amazing night with all the drinks. It was definitely interesting trying some of these drinks. Some ingredients were more appealing than others but it was an experience to try it all from the menu. Loved the ambience. Food: olives, salmon, chips, anchovies Drinks: we love the Caribbean Love. Fatty Paloma was a bit too smoky for me. My friend also loved the No Other Whey. Services: the waiting staff were very informative, attentive and friendly. They were able to recommend a drink based on our preferences.

Yelp
Another unique bar hidden along the alleys of the Gothic Quarter. We came on a weeknight and waited about 15 minutes with about 4 parties ahead of us, but it went by quickly. The walls are decorated with bottles and portions to feel like you're in a laboratory. All of their cocktails are homemade, so that's pretty cool. When you're presented the menu, there's a flavor Venn diagram to help you choose your drink with the various flavor profiles. But there's also a full description in the menu booklet to help you understand the ingredients in the cocktails too. I ordered the Cheese Knees (€13) while the boyfriend had the Coffee Break (€13). If you're not able to get a reservation at Sips or Paradiso, Dr. Stravinsky is a more affordable option that is also just as unique listed as a top 50 bar as well. They did warn that the cheese knees was very strong on the goat cheese, so pass if it's not your thing as they're not kidding. Unfortunately, we didn't have the energy to try more cocktails, but such a fun ambiance for innovative cocktails.

Yelp
Really really cool spot. All of the bartenders and servers were very into the craft and truly cared. Drinks were amazing and the atmosphere was on par Wait time was around 5 minutes

Yelp
Brilliant menu of drinks, definitely a must try place. We randomly stumbled upon this bar and are very happy we stumbled all the way in. Drinks are amazing and a festive crowd!

Yelp
Dr. Stravinsky was a recommendation from a friend. They're known for their cool, inventive cocktails made from ingredients that they make in-house. We stopped by around 5:30pm on a Tuesday and were able to grab a table no problem. I've been told that it can get pretty busy on weekends, so make sure you come early if you don't want to wait forever. For our first drinks, I had the Cheese Knees, which has Roku Gin, Laphroaig, cheese and ginger syrup, lemon, and honeycomb. This was so cheesy, but also oddly good at the same time. The gin and Laphroaig made it a bit smokey alongside the sweetness of the honey. X has the Crack the Beet, with tequila, fat wash with cheese, beetroot cordial, and a yogurt cracker. For my second drink, I had the Date Me, which has Zacapa rum, Branca Menta, strawberry shrub, sage cordial, cocoa bitters, and chocolate dates. This was fruity with just a touch of sweetness and acidity. Zacapa is always a crowd favorite in our household, so this was a solid use of it. X had the No Other Whey with Santa Teresa pineapple rum, wasabi sake, green chartreuse, plum, lime, and cherry and citrus perfume. This was quite pleasant, citrusy and spicy. The interior of the bar is super interesting and we had a great time. We never felt rushed - or that we had to get more drinks. It's laid back, and chill.

Yelp
I tried about 5 cocktail bars during my short time in Spain and this one was my favorite so far. Their focus is on narrowing on flavors that pop in the cocktail. If you're looking for that unique drink yet specific in a flavor profile this is that place for you. For parents: You can bring your kid here before 9p or certain hours that isn't too busy. Although, not exactly "kid friendly" if your kid can sit for a bit while you enjoy your drinks, you can make it work.
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
We had to wait less than 10minutes for a table of 6. We sat downstairs, and ordered a few cocktails. They were generally good, the dry ones were a bit strong, the fruity ones were very good. I tried ordering something healthier but they refused to serve me a vodka soda, as they only want to make their own cocktails, which I found odd.

Yelp
"One of the worlds 50 best bars" Has some very unique cocktails. Might wait in a short line outside! Cool vibes but slow-ish service. I liked the Return drink!

Yelp
Great ambiance good service, both English and Spanish menus. The drinks were very unique and the area where Stravinskys is located is GREAT for walking around. Put it on your list!!

Yelp
We got there right at opening time and they ended up opening late. Drinks- highly delicious. Service- meh. While bartenders were very skilled, we sat a good five minutes at the bar before our existence was acknowledged. Ambience good. The lowly lit bar offered a reality from the summer heat and the drink was amazing. Watch your head if you need to use the loo- its low and tight.

Yelp
Dr. Stromboli will be my favorite part of Barcelona. From delightful and intriguing Foie Gras infused splendid cocktails mmmm, to the mind boggling truffle Negroni oooooo. Yessirski this place was Litty as a mother f'er!! Amazing chips service and ambiance. When I go back home, I will be so sad I can't go to Stromboli for quite some time :-(

Yelp
Great ambiance and location. Drinks were great - known for one of the best 25 bars in the world. Definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Dr. Stravinsky's cocktail menu takes you on a journey through the flavour cosmos, where you navigate through their interactive menu to find the cocktail with the exact flavour profiles that you're looking for. You won't find wine or beer on the menu here as everything being served at Dr. Stravinsky's is made in house. This cocktail bar is every bit of a mad scientist's lab, using old school preparation techniques like fermentation, low temp vacuum cooking, milk and fat washes and more. The results of which are one-of-a-kind cocktails like the Gregale and familiar drinks with added complexity. The bartenders are hyper focused and talented, and their skills and finesse are a show in itself. Here's everything we tried: Sir Sazerac (€13), Fatty Paloma (€12), Turtle Island (€12) Tiki Nativo (€14), Gregale (€12), Golden Keffir (€12) New Fashion (€11), Farm in Quindio (€10) Only complaint is when we were seated upstairs, someone must have spilled a drink because it was really wet and slippery.
google avatar

Dino D.

Yelp
What a neat concept this bar has. They have a roadmap with several flavor profiles. You choose the flavors you like and follow the paths to which they intersect and, voila, your drink is there at the intersection. Had the Fatty Paloma one night and La Cabra Seca another night. The workers were very helpful and explained everything clearly. Don't sleep on the house made chips doused in their homemade malt vinegar.

Hayward L.

Yelp
Amazing cocktail bar in the heart of El Born. The menu is thoughtful and well constructed, with a range of flavors to suit many different preferences. Helpfully they provided a flavor map to narrow down the options. I personally like stronger, spicier cocktails with less sugar, so their spin on the Negroni was perfect. Staff is very professional and knowledgeable about cocktails. There are a fair number of tourists here and English is widely spoken. We arrived soon after opening so it was not crowded, but I can imagine it gets a lot more popular after dinner.
google avatar

Annabelle K.

Yelp
This is one of the cooler bars I've been to!! The drinks are all liqueurs made in-house, and fantastic quality. The menu is part of the experience and helped me decide what to pick based on the flavors I was going for. Great staff and relaxed feel, different seating options but probably better for a small group.

Yelp
This bar in Barcelona deserves its designation as one of the top 50 bars in the world. It is unique the ambiance is great. The drink menu is a treasure map that guides you to the creative drink that suits you. It is worth the wait. Go - you will be glad you did

Yelp
This was a great mixology place recommended to us on a city tour. Apparently it is supposed to be on of the top 50 cocktail bars in... Europe? Spain? I can't remember, but it was extremely good. The inside is dark and intimate with fun decor such as a chemistry set on the wall. We asked the bartender where the name came from. It comes from a composer (Igor Stravinsky) who utilized unique strategies to create music and they used doctor rather than Mr. because mixing cocktails is a science. How cool is that! The drinks are amazing. My favorite was their version of a whiskey sour. Everything was so well balanced. I absolutely loved it here. Must go if you are in Barcelona.
google avatar

Jessa D.

Yelp
Great attention to detail and personable bartenders. We sat at the bar and chatted with our bartender. The drinks are very unique and many of the liquors are made in house, meaning they aren't equipped to make classic cocktails. However, the menu is very well thought out and through. There is something for anyone feeling adventurous! No wine or beer.
google avatar

Jackie C.

Yelp
Cool concept- with the specialty cocktail menu, subpar service. Don't recommend sitting anywhere but the bar. We were sat in a room off to the side of the bar that was muggy, likely why we don't have the best service. After our first drink, no one came back to take our order for the second, so we left.
google avatar

Dustin H.

Yelp
Friendly bartenders, amazing craft cocktails, it's like nothing you have ever had before! Their menu is so unique and leads you to the drink you want! Very welcoming and classic spot, highly recommend checking out when you are in Barcelona
google avatar

Jillian D.

Yelp
We had to check this place out as a top 50 bar in the world. Our expectations were very high and I can't say that they were met. The concept they have of choosing your cocktail was very unique and fun. The drinks were also full of unique ingredients but a lot of them were just kinda weird. Over the course of 2 visits in 2 days with my whole group I probably tried over 75% of the menu. Although they were all unique, none of them were something I'd want again. I'd say it's worth it to see the space and say you did it, but if you missed it, I'd say it wouldn't be a big deal.
google avatar

Lee B.

Yelp
Really fun bar with lots of good drinks and a fun atmosphere. Try to sit on the upper level if possible. They limit the number of people inside so there's usually a line outside.
google avatar

Melyn N.

Yelp
I honestly found this bar by accident. I was walking back to my hotel and was trying to find my way out of the Gothic Quarter when I notice this place. So I decided to stop in for one more drink. The place was very cool. It was dark and kind of ominous with all the jars on the wall. The bartender was very attentive and he tried to explain the menu the best he could, in English and I greatly appreciated his help. He was also very charismatic with his flares as he composed the drink, putting on a show. I can't recall the name of the drink, but it was very unique because the drink was garnished with dried broccoli. I thought to myself, how odd and different. The drink was strong and it had intense flavor notes. I enjoyed the creativity this bar has. The menu, itself, is very different from any other menu I have seen. This place was definitely worth stopping in. I recommend this place to anyone who is up for some innovative drinks because this place got them!

Nicole K.

Yelp
Incredible drinks--the most crazy unique flavor combinations I've ever seen on a menu, and everything we tried tasted delicious.
google avatar

Noel W.

Yelp
The drinks here were unique but nothing amazing. The atmosphere was very cool, but the first floor was horribly humid and felt like a gross sweaty club. They kept us waiting outside for 15 minutes, but when we were finally let in, there were more than a few open areas for us to sit in. It seems like a manipulation to hype up the place when there's more than enough free seats inside. We were let in and a waiter tells us we can take the seats at the table upstairs. Another waitress proceeds to tell us that our group can't take two small tables since we don't have enough people and would have to move if a larger group comes. This is when there's a group of 3 next to us seated in a booth for 5. We graciously share one small table between the 3 of us, but the waitress spitefully decides to force another couple to sit uncomfortably at the table nearby when there's more open seating nearby. We asked for another menu to order more drinks but decided that it was never coming after 15 minutes and just got the check. If you like overpriced gimmicky drinks for tourists with horrible service, this is the place for you!
google avatar

Colleen L.

Yelp
Great bar! Small interior...expect a wait. Service staff was polite, helpful in choosing drinks and explaining the menu. Bartenders were talented, putting on a show during the execution of the drinks. Not too loud for conversations. Good atmosphere.

Mike S.

Yelp
Nile (doorman) was super friendly and informative. He remembers each person's name that enters/exits the bar. We waited around 30mins to get in. The approach to selecting a drink is very unique. Drinks looked better than they tasted, but overall it was a great experience.
google avatar

Yelp
What an amazing bar and what a creative way to present the menu. All ingredients are made in-house, cocktails are well balanced and creative. I will definitely come back to try more once I am in Barcelona again.

Yelp
Before we booked our trip to Barcelona, I saw Dr. Stravinsky on a website where it mentioned top 100 bars in the world. I saw the pictures and immediately put it in my itinerary! Dr. Stravinsky is in the el born area of Barcelona - and that was about a 7 minute drive from our hotel, or a 25 minute walk. My family and I took a cab from Camp Nou after the game, to go have a drink at Dr. Stravinksy and Dux (a bar near by). We get there around 10:45pm and the neighborhood is virtually empty. In order to get to Dr. Stravinsky, you need to walk in these narrow alleys, which my sister and I were fine with but my parents were terrified because there was no one else walking around. After 10 minutes, we left because the navigation wasn't helping, and neither were my parents! Two days later, on Saturday, we decided we needed to go to these two bars which were one minute away from each other. Cabs were on strike so we had to manage to find our way via train - and let me tell you, if you're by Passeig de Gracia, that train will save your life. The train drops you off right by those alleys and now it's Saturday and it's lively and not creepy at all! Going into the actual bar was a bit tight because they put the sign directly in front of the door. Once you're in, you're greeted with a beautiful red and green bar. They have two areas where they seat customers - upstairs and on the same floor you enter. Everyone was classy, and enjoying their time at Dr. Stravinksy, as well as the drinks! We were given a menu and the first page is like a diagram which could help you pick the perfect drink for yourself, based on what you like. I ordered the Alma (Vodka drink with elderflower, lychee + egg whites), my dad ordered an Old Fashioned, and my sister got the Lion's Lamb (A special tequila drink in a Jamaican pepper cup). My dad liked the Old Fashioned, but regretted not getting a cooler, handcrafted, unique cocktail. Alma was a great drink and gave you the perfect buzz! My sister's Lion's Lamb was strong and very spicy, but she loved it. The drinks were ~10euros each, so you're getting great cocktails for a decent price! If you're sitting upstairs, service will get slow so just keep an eye out! Also, if you're looking for some food after (since they don't offer food here), La Fabrica is a super reasonable and yummy empanada place that's a 2 minute walk from there, and next door to it, they have doner! Drink, eat and enjoy!
google avatar

Greg L.

Yelp
My son and I were looking for a place in Barcelona where we can enjoy something different than the usual tourist or standard cocktails. My son recommended Dr.Stravinsky; I'm very happy that he did because I've been to over 60 countries; this bar had some of the most innovative and delicious cocktails that I've ever enjoyed. The menu starts with a chart that helps you examine choose your cocktail taste preference (e.g., bitterness, creaminess, spice and salt, etc) to use the interplay between these factors to choose a new beverage rather than maybe one of your old favorites. I ended up with two different ones that were spectacular, and I think just about anyone would have a similar experience because of the ease of use of their taste preference chart. Bartenders also discuss what you might like, the mood you're in and what you might experience that's different from more standards. And then they just bring you liquid deliciousness. I will come back every time I return to Barcelona!
google avatar

Eunice C.

Yelp
Everyone we met seemed to recommend this place. We Went on a Sunday night, pretty much from opening til close! Slow night which was best to grab the best seats at the bar and watch the bartenders did their tricks. Drinks were phenomenal, and very pretty to look at! They infused, barrel aged, & even fermented all their ingredients in house. We also ordered their olives which I loved (we ordered twice and they came in big portions!), little cured sausages, and potato chips (thick cut & addictive!). This place could get crazy crowded on weekends even though it is kinda hidden.
google avatar

Carina F.

Yelp
We read up on this place before we came to Barcelona. We only had a four day trip here so we packed as much in as possible. We read that this bar was named one of the top 50 bars in the world and so we said we just had to go! I loved all the jars and handmade ingredients. Our drinks were all very tasty and unique. We arrived early between 5-6pm and did not have to wait but they have an area outside to stand and wait and when we left there was quite a queue so think about visiting during a less popular time and you will likely enjoy the experience more. I was happy that we were offered water when we sat down instead of having to buy a bottle. It does take a little time to receive the drinks given the small size of the bar and how many patrons there are for craft cocktails but as we were expecting a difference pace to life in Barcelona, we were not bothered. I do think this bar is mentioned in many American publications or something. Most of the people inside were American and/or English speaking and while our drinks were delicious, there are definitely plenty of other great cocktail spots that you might not hear about as much. Next time we plan to try to live like the locals a bit more and hope to have more time to explore.
google avatar

Satoe S.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. I LOVED the map of drinks that allowed you to pick which flavors you were looking for (like salty, sweet, smokey) and follow the lines to find a drink that you would like. There was a line when we got there, but definitely worth waiting for. It is one of the 50 top bars in the world and the line moves pretty quickly. We wanted to get one drink, but stayed for 4 each. The last drink we just told our server "Can you make something with gin?" and they came out with a popcorn buttery drink that was absolutely amazing. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Riley K.

Yelp
Vibes are impeccable here, love the aesthetic. Our waiter was also incredibly nice. But we ordered 3 drinks and the third one (tiki) tasted nothing like the description - my friend even said it tasted like bile, and I don't think she's wrong. We liked the Golden Keffir a lot, and the Bee Trigona was fun while still keeping it interesting. But I wouldn't recommend the Tiki Native, especially if you don't like complex flavors.
google avatar

Alexa M.

Yelp
Prepare to have the best drinks of your life. My boyfriend and I were absolutely blown away by this place. You HAVE to try the 90 Millas!! It's an award winner so you can't go wrong. It was such a perfect blend of sweetness that suddenly half way through the drink you would realize that that nice warm happy feeling was the tipsiness sneaking out of the beautiful blend of flavors and hitting you. The service is great here! Very friendly staff and they always make sure you have plenty of water and whatever else you need. The overall vibe was really nice and laid back. Also, the decor is really cool/interesting and it was honestly a joy coming here. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona! The drink prices were not bad at all for the quality. They were around 9-10 euros each. Prepare to embark on a wonderful drinking adventure.
google avatar

Carlos A.

Yelp
Service is better than most bars in BCN and I've been bar hopping. Vibe is eerie and interesting that lives up it's mysterious name. And the drinks.. weeeeeiiiird and even more weird, they're delicious! Homemade gin which is hard enough to find in Barcelona. Can't miss this place. No pictures, you gotta see it for yourself
google avatar

Lucy H.

Yelp
really cool atmosphere and cool concept! came here around 9pm and got seated really quickly. the menu has an intricate matching idea where you pick from the flavors you want and it recommends you cocktails that fulfills that palette. i got the tiki one which was really strong, but the chocolate bit was amazing! the prices are pretty decent, both drinks were 12€ and 11€!
google avatar

Trekforbeer B.

Yelp
One of the best ambiance I've been too. Old school but feels modern and not try hard. This place is all about flavors and they nail them. The best 2 drinks I've had all trip. Must stop.
google avatar

Lucas W.

Yelp
amazing vibe, but for both drinks to be lacking is insufficient. cool idea of map, but didn't work - strong, saline was super salty shana got something lighter but had a bad aftertaste super showy in terms of shaking drinks & mixing When you walk in, it looks like you're entering a chemist lab. It's a great interior with all the unlabeled bottles of liquours and bottles aging herbs and other things to create flavours. I also really liked the idea of a cocktail map. So if you want a smokey and sweet cocktail, you just find the cocktail on the line between those two flavours. It was a unique approach. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, the cocktails just weren't any good. A lot of show (the guys coordinated the long pours between mixing cups). But one cocktail was kinda devoid of flavour and the other tasted soooo salty. I've never had a salty cocktail before but it tasted like the seawater we had been swimming in earlier. The menu was disappointing too. They said they'd switched to their summer menu but it really wasn't that diverse a menu and there weren't any intriguing boozy cocktails. Definitely not worth it. Just go to Dux

M K.

Yelp
Came here and were one of the only tables since it was early. Waited literally an hour for them to make 3 cocktails. Meanwhile tables around us got their drinks delivered. They were apologetic but didn't quite make up for burning over an hour for some overpriced drinks! And if we're being honest? They're not really the bees knees.... I'd say if you're an American used to cocktail bars, skip this one. Also there was a gross girl coughing by us.

Yelp
I had been really, truly looking forward to visiting this place, and saved it as a special treat for my last night in Barcelona. I regret it and I was left offended and disappointed. We arrived around 8 PM, and there were plenty of seats inside. We stepped past a family of 5 with a toddler waiting outside (we did not realize they were there for Dr. Stravinsky, as it seemed odd that someone would bring a baby to a cocktail bar, even though it was still early in the evening). As soon as we stepped in, walking towards two out of several available seats at the bar, we were loudly shouted at, I quote, "you need to go back outside and have some respect for the queue." We were wholly unaware that there was a queue, as they had no employees outside to provide guidance, and there were plenty of unreserved seats inside that could have accommodated my boyfriend and myself, a party of two in an uncrowded bar. But fine, we went outside to wait. The family of 5, toddler included, were led in, and we were left standing outside, waiting for someone to come out for us. We waited 10 minutes before I finally just walked back in. They looked surprised that we were still here, and directed us at the still-vacant bar stools... I have absolutely no idea why they made us wait outside when we could have very easily been accommodated by the many available seats. Our drinks were underwhelming. I found mine to be unpalatably sweet and I was left nauseous - it could have used a splash of club soda to thin out its syrupy thickness. The drinks weren't as good as I thought they'd be, and the service was so snappish and disrespectful, I wish we'd just left when they first barked at us to wait outside. I am from New York City, and I've been to all manner of exclusive bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, and I can still say I've never been treated so coldly in my life. It left a terrible taste in my mouth, figuratively and literally, and I can't believe I had ever been so excited to go in the first place.

Yelp
Agreed with the person with the honest review. This place only has one bartender, so the seating and service is extremely slow. I asked the waitress for a recommendation of a fruity but not sweet drink and she said "it's impossible", and proceeded to recommending a drink that's too sweet still. I think it's just how Spaniards like their cocktails. Two stars for the cool decor and the Paloma drink - it's definitely closer to what we'd get at a good cocktail bar in the States or London.

Yelp
Dr. Stravinsky is fun and inventive cocktail bar in a great location. If you are in Barcelona, you must go at least once. They don't serve any typical or basic cocktails. Every drink has a twist that makes it unique and unlike any drink you can find elsewhere. The bartenders and so friendly and have great guidance and recommendations. It feels much more like an experience than a bar. Be aware that this is a popular bar with limited seating, so be prepared to wait a bit unless you get there right at the time it opens.
