San Diego’s Best Sports Bars and Restaurants | Eater San Diego

"Watch games on a 31-foot LED screen at this Belmont Park restaurant and bar that serves rich American pub fare — favorites include the fried pickles, loaded baked potato tots, a wagyu patty melt, and its behemoth one-pound fried mozzarella stick topped with marinara, pesto, and Parmesan — and offers deals on beer buckets during every NFL game." - Eater Staff

Late-Night Kebab Spot Lands in Pacific Beach | Eater San Diego

"As one of the local residencies for the Christmas-themed Miracle pop-up running Friday, November 17 to Sunday, December 31, Draft at Belmont Park will be decked out in over-the-top holiday decorations and offering festive cocktails in kitschy glassware, including Santa mugs, paired with seasonal dishes and snacks such as wagyu lasagna and winter squash soup with grilled cheese." - Candice Woo

If you’re looking for a place where the beer flows like the Pacific tide and the sports vibes are as high as the roller coasters next door, Draft at Belmont Park is your go-to spot. With over 50 beers on tap, including a solid selection of San Diego’s finest craft brews, it’s a haven for hopheads and casual sippers alike. The service here? Top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to recommend a brew that suits your palate. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, you’ll feel right at home. Now, let’s talk food. It’s decent—nothing to write home about, but it does the job. Think classic sports bar fare: burgers, wings, and fries. Perfect for soaking up the suds but not necessarily a culinary adventure. The atmosphere is where Draft truly shines. With a massive 31-foot LED screen and numerous TVs, it’s a sports fan’s paradise. Add to that the oceanfront views and the lively buzz of Belmont Park, and you’ve got a winning combo.

Great pub, with great comfort food, and amazing location Staying at San Diego in January and we decided to go to Mission Beach on a lovely sunny day. We decided to grab a late lunch at Draft House on the “boardwalk” of Mission Beach. Great location to grab some comfort food and drinks steps from the beach! Loved the food, great portion sizes, overly large chicken wings that I’ve never seen this large and this juicy, and what seemed like endless crispy fries. Had a table right on the boardwalk which was perfect to people watch the local San Diego folk. It was a little chilly, but they have plenty of patio heaters and did not hesitate to turn on two just for our table. Could have stayed they all afternoon! Highly recommend!

Not a friendly bartender. The place felt dirty and not up to hygiene standards for somewhere you’d want to eat. The bar area, which is visible to everyone, didn’t look clean at all. It makes me wonder what the hidden areas—like the kitchen—might look like. 😧

We came in for a couple of beers and an order of french fries. We sat at the bar. There was hardly anybody there the bartender and the wait staff were talking amongst themselves for at least 10 minutes before we were offered any service. We ordered two nonalcoholic beers and Parmesan fries. The Parmesan fries came Very quickly, but we’re only warm and soft. Clearly somebody else’s order that was cooked prior. They only came to us another drink and ask us how our food was 15 minutes later. And when we got the bill, it was $40. I would never go back

Excellent spot on the beach. The food was excellent and copious amounts were delivered. The ambience of the place is great and it helps that it’s right next to the beach. I did ding them one star because service was spotty at some point. Bonus stars because they actually have cider . I’m not really a beer drinker so having a few options of cider is fantastic. They were fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed his burger, and I had the veggie burger, which was quite different, but really quite good for veggie burger. We arrived there in time to watch the sun, go down while chatting with friends . I highly recommend it. Important note: If you’re walking on the beach and have Sandy feet like we did, you’ll have to use the showers that are right next-door to get all the sand off as you must have shoes on when you enter the restaurant.

Good beer, solid food. We ordered the 1 lb mozzarella stick (was good, probably wouldn’t order again though) and the salmon (absolutely fabulous!).

Fabulous! We went here for my sister's Bachelorette party. The 1 lb Mozzarella stick was the perfect dish. The service was incredible!

Draft House is located right on Belmont Park Boardwalk and has a direct view of the ocean. The smell of the salty air, the sound of crashing waves and the kiss of an ocean breeze makes this place perfect for relaxed dining. Unfortunately, the hostess was meandering, looking busy without being busy, oblivious that there were patrons that needed to be seated. When she finally made it to the hostess stand, she was lackluster and apathetic. Without uttering a single word, she walked away toward an empty table holding menus, which we only assumed was for us. We followed her to the table and like a soundless fart in the wind, she was gone. Thankfully, our waiter was the complete opposite of the hostess. He was friendly, attentive and efficient. My daughter ordered their chicken fingers with fries and I had their fish and chips. Both the chicken and the fish were incredibly bland. Breading and frying it just isn’t enough, it needs to be seasoned too. The fries however, were flavorful. Paid about $60 (with tip). I may come back to enjoy the view and have some drinks, but definitely wouldn’t be the first place I’d go.
