70 New Restaurants and Bars That Have Opened in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"I visited the newest Draft Republic that occupies part of a 30,000-square-foot entertainment complex in North City shared with Rouleur Brewing Company, featuring bowling lanes, arcade games, a golf simulator, shuffleboard, live music nightly in a beer garden, and a beer-centered restaurant experience." - Candice Woo

10 San Diego Spots for a Great Old Fashioned | Eater

"A sports bar with an eight-lane bowling alley, a full-swing golf simulator, an arcade and a dog-friendly patio is cool; but a sports bar that also makes a great Old Fashioned is an absolute dream come true. The Big Kid Mac N’ Cheese is a no-brainer here, where house-smoked brisket, roasted poblanos, and sharp cheddar smothers tender cavatappi pasta. Its classic flavors are enhanced by notes of sweet oak and hints of smokey chipotle found in Elijah Craig Small Batch." - Mary Beth Abate

Google
We celebrate our work Christmas party and the food was great. The environment is fun and family friendly. There is a bowling lanes you can reserve. The only issue is the location of parking it is a bit of walk.

Bonnie Y.

Google
This is my go to place for group gatherings. The place is big and has different games in different areas. There are multiple sections for both indoor and outdoor dining. It’s nice that they have a QR code for each table. We can scan the QR code and order whatever I want for my group and pay for only my tab, no need to wait for the check and split the check among many people/groups. It’s very convenient. There are many food and drink choices ranging from burgers, fries to salad and ceviche. I liked their burgers, fries and chicken tenders. They things for everyone to do and eat. The parking garage offers two hours free parking which is great. I would go back whenever I’m in the area.

Google
Came here after moving our daughters into CSUSM. I had seen this place on maps before I came down. It did not disappoint. Our server was very friendly and very attentive. Food was amazing and there was a lot of activities to do in the restaurant from bowling alley to video games and even a small library room.

Google
Great location with an upbeat vibe. Lots of outdoor space for friends get together and family meetups. They have games like cornholes that you can play outside. They also have a bowling alley! It's a wonderful place to hang out! Service was so so. We all individually ordered our food using the QR code. The server came to drop off the food that didn't bother to tell us the name of the person who ordered the food. We had a big party and we all ordered similar food. It got quite messy and it was very inefficient. Food was mediocre. I was expecting so much more. Looking at the pricing of the food, I was expecting quality food. I had surf and turf quesadilla and it was greasy. Salad was okay but it was overpriced. Cauliflower appetizer would have tasted so much better if it was grilled/roasted. Lastly I tried the s'mores dessert and was extremely disappointed that it was placed in a plastic jar. would have been nice if it was in a mason jar... Overall, I think I will come back if I just need a place to hang out with friends. I wouldn't come back for the food/beer.

Google
Super fun place to go and have a lot of different games, food and drinks. Full bar, very high-end alcohols and all of the different food is yummy. Also a good brewery, enjoyed all the beers. I had the burger with a beer combo for happy hour is the best deal ever!

Pascal S.

Google
Great place and good atmosphere. We were seated near the arcade area with lots of traffic and noises. Good selection of beers and drinks. The food looked good. I picked the Fairy Mozzarella Burger which was a big disappointment. For whatever reason it had raisins in it which is not mentioned on the list and Mozzarella was bon existent. One key issue with this burger was it lacked any spiciness. The ketchup on the side was more spicy than the burger. I would not recommend this burger. Our party had a variety of items and they all seemed good and enjoyed them. The place also offers arcade games for kids and adults to enjoy.

Don N.

Google
Went there with neighbors after walking the farmers market. The atmosphere was friendly and not overly noisy. The food was decent and the service was up to par. I'd go again with friends as it is a good locale for a friendly dinner.

Tony A.

Google
Visited 3 years ago and last night's visit was just as great. Service was friendly, food came out quickly and delicious. The beer selection was more than enough. I had the Philly Cheesesteak for $21.90 and included garlic fries and small but delicious salad.

Yelp
Just wanted to write this review to say a BIG THANK YOU to Draft Republic in SM for having a speakeasy pop-up for the movie, Wicked. I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

Yelp
I've been to Draft Republic a handful of times and have always had a good experience. It's a large location with a lot of outdoor room, a game area (for kiddos), a small bowling alley, some regular seating as well as a good bar area. The staff have been good too. It's really cool that Tarantula Hill Brewing makes beer there as well (Liquid Candy is my go-to for a New England IPA/Hazy). They have a pretty good happy hour as well. I love their Soft Pretzel sticks, the Bo-beau's Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the Sausage Sampler for appetizers (not all at once!) The pizzas, burgers and salads are also good. Depending on the time of day, there can be a lot of children around, so that's something to keep in mind. For a good place for groups, with beer, appetizers and food, this is the place.

Yelp
Just left Draft Republic, and while the food and arcade were totally fine, the service absolutely tanked the experience. Our waitress was easily the biggest frustration of the night. She acted like she had somewhere better to be every time she came to the table. Instead of offering suggestions or helping us decide, she just stood there staring at us like we were wasting her time. It was uncomfortable, unwelcoming, and honestly kind of ridiculous. On top of that, the bowling area was closed off for two separate events which also sucked, because we actually came planning to play. No warning, no heads-up, nothing. Not the end of the world, but definitely added to the irritation. We're generous tippers and still left 20%, but the service made us regret it. A better waitress alone could've turned this into a 5-star visit and a 30% tip. Instead, the whole thing felt like a night that should've been great but got derailed by attitude and poor communication.

Yelp
We heard about a wicked pop up at this location and wanted to check it out. It was really cute. They really put in effort to decorate and even was playing the movie. The drinks and food offered were also theme based and fun. The staff were all super welcoming and friendly. I also loved how on a warmer day they have outdoor activities that looked fun. They even have a bowling alley inside, but after hearing the cost, we definitely would Not be interested. Overall, good drinks, decent food, would be back.

Yelp
Service is lacking, food is mediocre but you can't beat a kid-friendly restaurant with a bowling alley and arcade games!
google avatar

Stephanie E.

Yelp
I was really impressed by the size of this place! The service was excellent, and very friendly and attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed. The food was really good - my favorite was the Brussel sprouts which was perfectly cooked and flavorful! This is the perfect place to throw a birthday party. They have a ton of space and the atmosphere is lively and fun. They have plenty of TVs, food and drink selections. If I didn't live so far, I would go every weekend!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
I want to love this place because it's such a cool concept. However, the food prices are outrageous. The last time I went here for fish and chips and one drink, it cost me over $40 for my bill with tip for one person. It would be great if they had better happy hour special or incentives so bring more students and families in other than just the games.

Yelp
I have been here several times and am always pleased. The selection of beers is insane and the vibe is really chill. Usually the servers are knowledgeable if you have questions and can point you in the right direction. Parking was also pretty easy.
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
Service was great, fun atmosphere. But food was mehh. Be aware you get 6 mid sized chicken wings for $19.. and they were nothing special. Go with a burger.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
Draft Republic had some solid dishes on our visit. I had the shrimp and grits; good flavor overall, with just the right amount of spice and a nice touch from the tomatoes, though I did wish the grits were a bit creamier. My husband had the surf and turf quesadilla, which was packed with flavor and came in a generous portion. Service was friendly and attentive, and while it can get a little loud inside, that's pretty much expected for the type of atmosphere. A fun spot with tasty food and a lively vibe.
google avatar

Dan H.

Yelp
Bowling alley has a nice setup. Video game room needs some help. Too many games not operational. Great place to watch sports, many TV's and projector TV is great for prime-time games. Lots of good food options. Large open space is comfortable.
google avatar

Wayne W.

Yelp
This was a really cool spot! Tucked away by CSUSM! They have a parking garage, first 2 hours are free but the restaurant will validate your parking if you are there longer! They have a really good social hour with a burger, fries, salad, and beer for $21 The burger was DELICIOUS! Service was really great! Always checking in on us and very fast! The ambiance was super chill! Lots and lots of games for all ages. EVEN had a bowling alley in there with about 7 lames! The biggest Foosball table that I have ever seen! And shuffleboard that was outside. Will definitely return here!!!

Yelp
This place never disappoints! If you're looking for somewhere to go where everyone will be pleased, this is the place for you. They've got salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and pasta dishes just to name a few. If you're looking for small bites, they have great appetizers and the best time to give those a try is during happy hour. My favorite apps are the crispy Brussels sprouts and the crispy buffalo cauliflower. I have yet to find any other restaurant that actually makes their Brussels sprouts crispy like Draft Republic. And the crispy buffalo cauliflower is pretty addicting! Just the perfect amount of spice to it. They also have a great drink menu covering beers, wine, and spirits. If you have kids with you, they have arcade games and bowling to keep them busy.
google avatar

Landon B.

Yelp
Really good mac n cheese choices. Really cool stuff games for the kids and a small bowling lanes to give a fun vibe. Games also out on patios. Service is always welcomed n never a super long wait. Cool bar area with plenty of TVs.

Yelp
First time eating at Draft Republic. We had a large group, 35-40, and they were able to accommodate us seating us outside at multiple tables. The servers were friendly and once you ordered your food it came out really fast, using the tables QR Code made it extremely easy and efficient, especially with this large group. The food was tasty and plentiful. The San Marcos Hazy was not too hoppy. Overall a great place for a large group with early teen age kids.
google avatar

Todd M.

Yelp
I recently visited Draft Republic and was really disappointed to discover a 5% "supplemental fee" added to my bill with no clear explanation up front. After I paid, an employee told me it's "on the menu," but that doesn't make it any less misleading. From what I was told, this fee is not for employee health benefits or staff support, it's simply an added revenue generator for the corporation. That feels deceptive. If a business wants to raise prices, it should do so transparently, not by tacking on hidden fees at the end of the meal. In my opinion, this is a corporate money grab, and I'll be requesting this charge be removed on any future visits, if I decide to return at all. Customers deserve clarity, not surprise fees disguised as something meaningful. Do better

Yelp
The place is huge! They have games, food, and lots of space for hanging indoors or outdoors. The food was solid. Tried the chicken wings and shrimp appetizers. For entrees tried the mahi sandwich and the Philly cheesesteak. Mahi was a miss for me but I enjoyed the cheesesteak. Service was good, fun place to hang out.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
We went with a large party for dinner while some of our group went to Mesa Rim next door to go climbing. The food was fantastic with large portions and came out perfectly prepared and hot, the wings were juicy and the garlic ketchup was unique for the fries. Our waitress checked on us frequently and kept our drinks filled. There's a bowling alley, a giant foosball table, and arcade games. Plenty of TVs if you want to watch a game too (we went to also watch a game). Parking is kind of a pain since you either need to park at the parking deck or on the street. But otherwise there's a huge indoor and outdoor space with a lively atmosphere. ----TL;DR---- Pros: great service, large portions, food quality was fantastic. Service was attentive Cons: parking is not right up next to the restaurant so if you have any mobility issues like wheelchair or walking issues it may be a little bit of a distance. Bottom Line: fun and large place, great food and service. Some entertainment for families too (arcade, bowling, next door to Mesa Rim).
google avatar

Danny W.

Yelp
What a fun place and I definitely want to come back with a large group. This establishment has it all, bowling, games, music, food, drinks and a nice outdoor patio. We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and Mahi Mahi Sandwiches. Both were delicious served with fries and a small salad. The waitress was on point and made sure that we were taken care of. This restaurant allows dogs which is a big plus. The only downside is the parking which is a parking structure that is a little confusing. Make sure that the restaurant redeems your parking before you leave.
google avatar

Rhys O.

Yelp
I've been here more times than I could count because I couldn't figure out if I like it. But... I figured it out. Come here for drinks, appetizers (beware), and to WATCH SPORTS. Do not come here for high quality food worth the price. Without fail, every single time I eat here my stomach hurts. Probably because everything on the menu is pretty heavy in oils and processed ingredients. I've tried it all. Trust me. This doesn't mean I don't necessarily recommend this place, because I do recommend it for a drink and watching games. Just beware of the quality of food and how your bill will rack up quickly.
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Fun for the kids! It is EXPENSIVE to bowl, but fun do do with a group. Drinks were delicious, and food good. Service was great too.
google avatar

Jill H.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed with this place. It has so much potential, but it just falls short left and right. I suppose it should have been a red flag that half the games in the arcade were broken. The the buffalo cauliflower appetizer and my husband's beer were easily the highlight of the night. In fact, they were the only things anyone at our table enjoyed, with the exception of my 7 year old who liked his spaghetti. My cousin's short rib pasta was so bad she sent it back. There was practically no meat or pasta, so it was just a pile of sauce! My husband's fried chicken was both burnt and squishy as though the fryer was up too high to actually cook all the batter. My chopped salad didn't have enough dressing, nor "goat cheese medallions" mentioned on the menu, and the shrimp wasn't chopped at all (that's part of what makes a chopped salad). So it was basically just a a bite of just shrimp followed by a bite of dry kale and other greens. And all of that cost $123!?! That's utterly insane to me. Especially because that's not including the cost of my cousin's pasta that they took off the bill. As if the high prices and poor food won't bad enough, this place is one of those places that sneaks in a 5% surcharge "to offset rising costs" rather than just increasing the price of menu items. That feels super dishonest. This could have been a cool place to hang, but I will not be coming back.
google avatar

Andrea A.

Yelp
So my roommate and I came here to finally enjoy the food. We had come to this location to celebrate a friend's birthday but did not get to enjoy the food. Honestly, the food was amazing. My roommate and I are gym girlie's and chose our empty calories to be in alcohol haha The Brussel sprouts were sooo crispy and delicuous..I would definitely order again. The chicken wings are so good. They definitely fulfilled the craving my roommate had for wings. When it comes to drink I opted for the Old Fashioned and truly loved the candy honey provided. At some point I had a different bartender and had to request it. I would say if they're going to make a drink they should all be on the same page. I was already 2 or 3 drinks in when I got a different bartender and was a bit disappointed having to ask for it. The service at the bar was a bit hit or miss. Never had someone ask how everything tasted or the type of attentiveness you look for. It wasn't too busy that day either. Did love the photo booth though! I would say one thing about this location is the parking situation. Make sure you go to the parking garage and absolutely don't forget to have them validate the ticket. If you forget it'll be a pain..say that due to an experience someone had.
google avatar

Lindsey A.

Yelp
This used to be my go to spot in San Marcos for friendly staff, good food, and good ambience. My how that has changed. Went in the other day to kill a little bit of time between errands. I got there at 8:15 and they close at nine. I generally try to be really respectful with trying not to linger bc I've worked in the restaurant industry before. But 45 mins is usually not too close - I've had to keep whole restaurants open because the one. table wasn't done. I sat down and had no plans of staying past their closing or being a bother. Right off the bat the bartender was really rude and clearly he did not give a **** about the diners' experience. Tried to start rushing me out of the restaurant pretty much right as I sat down. I usually come here for the cauliflower bites bc they're super tasty. They came out and were just . . . bleh. Mediocre would be putting it nicely. NOT $18 worth. I also ordered an order to go for my partner who loves the cauliflower bites. You know how they come with celery? I got a big order of cauliflower bites to go and literally 3 tiny sad pieces of celery. Like really? You can't afford to put more than scraps of celery on a meal that almost cost $20 and was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay below quality. Also ordered a Cali creaming on Nitro and it was completely flat. Really disappointing. I've noticed that their quality has been declining for a bit and I might consider going back one more time to give them a last chance, but probably taking this one out of the lineup for tasty bites

Yelp
I really enjoyed Draft Republic. I had Beer and it was good. I heard the cocktails were also good. The food surprised me the most. I had the Big Kid Mac and Cheese and really loved it! I am really picky with Mac and cheese and this one was delicious. I would gladly order it again. We also tried their buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer and that also exceeded expectations. We always order some hoping that it tastes as good as the buffalo cauliflower from CPK but I'm always disappointed. But this one was definitely a close second. The vibe was cool here. There's a small arcade close to the tables where little ones and kids at heart can go play. I did not bowl but it looked fun and like a nice bowling area. I would say, check this place out. It would be a great option for a night out with friends or on a date. Definitely a place you can come and celebrate special occasions. Or just enjoy a nice beer or cocktail,

Yelp
Food: 3 Service: 3 Ambiance: 3.5 Came here on a Saturday evening. There was no wait and we were seated at a high top table. Service was ok as we had to wait for a while before we were able to order as we had to track someone down but someone was else checked up on us. I honestly don't even know who our server was. Food was ok and was lively and fun. The short rib sandwich and smoked brisket sandwich looked good but was so dry. Definitely needed a bit more sauce and flavor. The brussel sprouts however were very tasty! I don't know if I would return.
google avatar

Mel H.

Yelp
Got the classic burger with fries and salad. Pretty good burger with crispy fries. Very busy place on Saturday night located close to campus. They have games there too in a sports bar setting. Good for big parties too. They have outside tables seating as well. If you drink beer, they have plenty to choose from.
google avatar

Stacie D.

Yelp
Love it had a great time and will be back...Great Ambiance food and drinks...Even though they were busy they were on it.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
Start off with the good. Good service, lots of entertainment options and decent happy hour. Hamburger, fries, salad and beer deal are great. Very tasty burger and loved the fries. Ketchup is in one small container. Getting more is just too difficult on a Friday night. Fried buffalo cauliflower was ok but wasn't crispy nor very spicy. Came with ranch dressing which also is in one small container. Huge disappointment was the nachos. Dry, very little sour cream and jalapeños then salsa and guacamole came in the same small container that the ketchup came in. Small amount of black beans and very little cheese. The chips were supposedly corn but tasted and look more flour to me but worse was how dry the nachos were. Anyways, could only eat half of them before giving up. Don't understand why the host put all the customers in one area making it overly crowded when there were lots of open tables elsewhere. Beers were nothing special but the prices were reasonable. Worse thing is parking...maybe 6 spots in front which means driving around the block to find the parking structure that you have to pay for because they don't validate. The signs in the parking lot don't direct you to Draft Republic...no ADA paths, several sets of stairs to navigate. Sorry, food isn't worth the trouble of parking and the noise level makes this place more of a Dave and Busters...good for teenagers and parents that like video games and bowling alleys.
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
Love this place! The service is awesome, as is the food. The drinks at the bar are also amazing! The whole vibe is very friendly and the staff is wonderful! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
I corresponded with management for the restaurant and they let me know that the supplemental fee was actually just due to rising costs and had nothing to do with my vegetarian sandwich. I still would only give the place 3 out of 5 stars because I've been there a few other times and the service is average. They take a long time to help you if you're sitting at the bar.
google avatar

Rusanne A.

Yelp
2 stars is for our waitress, otherwise this was a horrible dining experience and would have rated it a negative. My daughter & I both ordered fish & chips. The fish was pre-frozen small nuggets that were thrown into a fry basket, overcooked and then served. Hard little nuggets - not flaky batter or fish. The tartar sauce - if you want to call it that - was so funky in taste that it was not edible. BTW - this restaurant charges an additional 5% called a "Supplemental Fee" over and above your meal prices, tip & taxes. Gauging the diner. Won't be back. Hugely disappointed in a restaurant that is a Wanna-Be Dave & Busters.
google avatar

Angela D.

Yelp
Fast service and great food! The fries... Omg! So good. Great patio. Lots of beers on tap. Arcade games and fun. A perfect date night. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
They don't take reservations but luckily they were not busy when we went on a Thursday evening and needed a table for 10. At least half your party needs to be there before they will seat you. We were given a table fairly quickly and we were served by Alicia. I thought she was great. She was really nice and helpful. I ordered the Loaded Supreme Pizza and a Moscow Mule. Pizza tasted great. It has thin crust and a variety of delicious toppings including pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, red onions, and bell peppers. The Moscow Mule was also really good. I'll definitely coming be coming back here to try more food and drinks!

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend love coming here to bowl and have their appetizer's. Good vibes, great selection of drinks and overall a great experience. Service is excellent at the bowling alley and would recommend to everyone
google avatar

Chhai M.

Yelp
Between the shrimp and grits, draft burger, and poke tacos I have to say the food is highly variable. I would recommend coming with a group who likes to share to figure out which dishes are actually to everyone's liking. With that being said, the space is beautiful. Wide space in the back for both kids to run around in and dogs to relax next to you while you eat. Inside, some generic arcade games and private rooms, and all the bathrooms are immaculate. Add to it all the friendly service that left all of us smiling. I give it my recommendation for group dinners, but likely not solo or date night.
google avatar

Annie D.

Yelp
I've been here for happy hour and restaurant week. Per the hubby, their beer is not the greatest. The cocktails are standard. But the space is very big both indoors and outdoors. They let us keep our dog next us by the inside bar which was great! We really liked the smoked wings and sausage platter. As a bread connoisseur, the pretzel roll was the best thing on the platter! Wouldn't get the nachos again. Looks big but it's just a bunch of chips. Their chop chop salad is good if you like fig. Also their Mac n cheese is excellent. Burgers and desserts were standard. Not bad but nothing to write about. Overall, Draft is a great place to come for big groups and if you have a dog or kids!
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
We visited this place for a co-worker's farewell celebration, and it was our first time here. It's a fantastic spot for happy hour or just hanging out. They have a bowling area, which we didn't try this time but plan to on our next visit. We ordered the regular fries, wings with buffalo sauce, sweet chili-lime sauce, and a mojito. The food and drinks were great! The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the service was outstanding. We'll definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Angela H.

Yelp
Went here to go bowling for a friend's birthday and will not be back. Let's start with the bowling area. The tables are so much wider than they need to be. You have all this table space but then when everyone's sitting on the couch they have to stand up so you can walk by to have your turn to bowl. Or move their legs to the side like you do in a movie theater. So this place needs to have smaller tables and more walking space. People are at the bowling section to bowl not eat. Now for the food and beverage. Prices are ridiculously expensive for a few bites of food. We had four adults and one two year old and for the appetizers we had to order so many items as they were not really shareable. Also the kids mac and cheese comes on a hot Skillet and the server even worn this careful the skillet is hot. It's on the kids menu why would you give a hot Skillet to a child. Our server was also horrible as we put in our food order and after about 40 minutes I was like I don't think they put anything in and sure enough when she came by and I said the order about the food she was oh yeah let me go check on that. AKA she was just putting it in. As we waited quite a bit longer and then still did not get the kids mac and cheese and had to ask again for that and she was like oh it should be out any minute and then that took an additional 15 to 20 minutes as she had forgot to put that in as well. She also never asked us if we needed water refills or more beer. Also the beer there is very expensive and they don't do pictures which to me is a standard at bowling. So if you want an overpriced place with horrible service then by all means go here but I will not be back.

Yelp
What a great place to just have a beer, or watch a game, or bring the kids. I saw all kinds of folks just eating and having a good time, including me and my girlfriends! We had a really good server, and our drinks were very decently poured. But I was surprised over how tasty the food was for such big location that has arcade games and a bowling alley. It was nice having actually good food for a place with all these amenities. Definitely one of the best spots in town!

Yelp
I love love Draft republics burger! After having a disappointing burger at Copper Kings, we needed to have a redemption night. We're super fond of DRs burger. We came on a Wednesday. This place is huge!! Definitely looks like a fun place for adults and kids, especially in the summer or game nights. The bar area was super nice. Cohn group sure went all in here. The menu is different here compared to our usually Carlsbad joint. We're closer to this one now so it's our new joint! We get their draft republic burger with white American cheese, 2 patties, bacon, bun and veggies with their extra crispy fries. And it comes with a salad to make you feel not so bad for eating a high caloric burger. Fries are addicting. This burger is the best. We also go their wings, naked with sauce on the side. It was delicious as well. So crunchy. Their garlic ketchup is delicious, but I don't think they have to us this time. We'll ask for it next. Service was friendly and we had several people ask us if everything was good.

Yelp
Draft Republic is a solid place that's good for groups. But be aware of their added "service tax" and "no check splitting" policy. Like all restaurants of the Cohn group, you'll get a consistent atmosphere and better food. You'll also get their signature "service tax" added to every bill. For many people who live in San Diego, that's a hard pass. Tourists don't know any better. This is a place for larger groups. The food is definitely a cut above standard restaurants. That's why I still put this place at 4 stars. But what really causes me to pause is that service tax. It's not just an extra fee, it's the fact that their service just doesn't justify it. This became very apparent when our group met up mostly consisting of 1's and 2's. They refused to split the check. I understand that's extra work for them, but we're also being taxed with a "service" charge. Applebee's and other chain restaurants have figured out splitting checks, so why not this place? - if you're with a group, you'll have to assign one person to pay everything, and you'll have to venmo your money to that person. - Great value on Taco Tuesday - If you want to bowl and reserve your own lane with a group, they will require a $200+ deposit. - Parking sucks and is confusing just where to park if it's your first time. There is parking available under one of the apartments complexes. 2 hours free, need validation if longer.

Yelp
Went here for a bite after a rock climbing session at North City Mesa rim. So satisfying after a climbing workout and love how convenient it is to just walk over! I got the wings appetizer (so flavorful) and the Baja fish tacos (a nice lighter option if you don't want a super heavy burger meal). Everything was decently priced for a brewery. Staff were friendly and helpful, and assisted us right away. Would highly recommend bringing your friends here or your SO for a date night! There's an arcade, a bowling alley, and plenty of other games you can play, and a nice outdoorsy area to sit in.

Yelp
When you head out here, you have to be aware that your GPS will take you to the restaurant, but parking is actually on a different street. The next thing you will notice is the large outdoor area and the extra large front door. You pass a foosball table when heading past the host counter and see the dining area, bar and arcade. We were seated quickly and met almost immediately by our server. We ordered a couple appetizers (pound of wings - dry, and the bang bang shrimp), which were both amazing. Our main dishes were pretty good as well. I had the fish and chips, which were okay. The fries were really good, but the fish had a thicker batter and they use rockfish instead of cod, so that could be why it wasn't what I am used to. I was told that the other items ordered were great. We also had dessert, which everyone seemed to enjoy. I had the brownie which was really good, except the edges were a little dry. One of the best aspects of the night was the service. Our server was awesome. He and the team brought out everything quickly and refreshed our drinks regularly. I would definitely visit this place again.

Yelp
Talk about great ambiance for gathering! They've got a new golf simulator, there's also a bowling alley, arcade games, and outdoor games! This is a great spot for big chatter and loud laughters. I went here for a reunion and the service was fantastic. The food is great and so are the drinks. Recommendations: Spirited Drinks- Bees Knees ( I got mine with Tito's Vodka ) Appetizer- Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower ( You'd never know it's vegans ! ) Appetizer- Bavarian Pretzel Bites ( Perfectly Salted and Soft with Beer Cheese ) Dessert- Brownie Ala Mode ( Bomb.com )

Yelp
This is a cool spot to accommodate a large or small group of family and/or friends. The food is good and prices are standard for this type of establishment. There is a small arcade area to play games and a bowling alley. Restrooms were clean. There is no close parking, you will have to walk unless you get dropped off at the front. The servers are very friendly and accommodating. Food Ratings: - Poke Tacos: Hard to eat, but decent. 7/10 - Mozzarella Burger: There was a nice kick! 7.5/10 - Mahi-Mahi Burger: My mom ate half of it and my dad finished it. 9/10 - White Pizza: We finished it, but wasn't the best white pizza I've had 7.5/10 - Supreme Pizza: Standard, finished half. 7/10 - Fish and Chips: Huge portions! 8/10 - Brussels Sprouts: Just try it! 9/10 - French Fries: Crispy! 8/10 - Bread Pudding Dessert: This was okay. 6/10 - Kid's meal: My niece enjoyed it! 9/10 *Limited Restaurant Week Menu: Good deal at $30 The bill came out to slightly under $200 with tip for family of 6. We also had leftovers. The customer service experience was definitely the best part for me!
