Thirteen of us went to Dragon Gate in Pembroke Pines, and they actually had a huge round table that fit all of us—super convenient! We had never noticed this Cantonese restaurant before, probably because their online photos make it look like a takeout spot. But a friend said it was amazing, so we gave it a try—and it was such a nice surprise! We ordered a ton of dishes. The spicy fish was bold and full of flavor, and the bitter melon with salted egg was crispy and super unique. The roast pigeon had crispy skin, the stir-fried beef chow fun was nice and chewy, and both lobster dishes were delicious. The crispy pork made that satisfying crunch when you bite into it! Almost every dish was great, and the service was really friendly too. Definitely worth checking out!

Visited for lunch. Pictures of my bill and the fatty pork serves at my table. ***The last picture is the one taken by someone else who review this restaurant and I screenshot and posted for reference. Her pork platter was much more presentable, ours was laid flat in a row without so much as a leaf with all the fat in a long row. The only aspect that was pleasing to me was the presence of the waitresses at all times. The food was bland and the crispy pork was mostly fat and it cost $18.95 prime prices but pork mostly fat. I don't ever write reviews unless I am really upset. The main reason for this review is because of my dissatisfaction with the standard of service. The waitress took my leftover food to package in the back whilst the 3 other customers where packaged at there table.WHY????? I have a problem with my food leaving the table. The other customers were served oranges at the end of the meal and my husband and I won't. This is not about money but about businesses aspiring to be more professional and valuing there customers. I will never eat there again or recommend this place all because of not treating all customers the same. ALL customers should be treated equally! I felt a level of unfairness since the other customers were of a certain ethnicity and we obviously weren't. Discrimination is real and all business places should be sensitized to this and ensure that noone feel wronged. Come on you all do better please. I am so glad for the 3 Chinese restaurant I patronize and receive tasty food and the my oranges at the end. First and last time at this place.

Perfectly cooked Cantonese style cooking. We need more places like this in Miami. Excellent attentive service too.

We've been to Dragon Gate previously but not for awhile since it's a bit further than we usually go. We were in the area and quickly remembered Chinese food! We were so happy we returned after awhile! The food and service are on point! The food was delicious and plenty for leftovers! Service on point, a yummy experience! Looking forward to our next visit!

Google
I am going to start this off by saying this place blew the roof off of my expectations. From the outside it looks very ordinary , and honestly the inside does too , but… The service was extremely prompt and polite ; The food was in front of us before we even finished ordering, it was hot and flavorful . The price very reasonable for Pembroke Pines . 5/5 will come back

Google
Service sucks! Placed an order of 5 combo meals, 10 rangoons and pork pot stickers…Over$100! 1 hour later they sent me 5 a la carte meals instead of my order. Called and was told they need a supervisor to correct and that they would call me back in 5 minutes! They never called back and then every time I would call they would not answer. I had to call from another phone for them to answer and when they realized it was me they would put me on hold again. Total was put on hold 10 times! My son drove to them! What did we get attitude! Will I be going there again!!!! NO! I do not recommend them anymore!!!! They have gone downhill. 20 years being a loyal customer and they could care less.

Dear Management of Dragon Gate, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding an experience my daughter and I had at your restaurant last night. I have been a loyal customer of Dragon Gate for over twenty years and have always spoken highly of your food. It has been one of my favorite go-to restaurants for takeout and Uber Eats orders. I even had the opportunity to attend one of your Chinese New Year celebrations years ago with former Mayor Ortis, who often spoke highly of your establishment. Unfortunately, our recent visit was extremely disheartening. It was the first time my daughter and I decided to dine in rather than order takeout. From the moment we were seated, we noticed a clear difference in how we were treated compared to other guests. As we observed other tables being set for Asian patrons with elegant dishware and beautiful, colorful hardcover menus. It became painfully clear that we were being treated differently because of our appearance. My daughter and I felt humiliated, unwelcome, and deeply disappointed that such behavior would occur in a place we have long supported and admired. We were given paper takeout menus instead of the hardcover menus that other patrons received. Our table was set with paper napkins and a small, worn bowl containing fried noodles and dipping sauces, while other tables occupied by Asian patrons were provided with white China dishes, tea cups, and cloth napkins. When I asked our waitress why we were not given the same menus, she replied that the hardcover menu was for “authentic Chinese food.” I explained that we had come to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine, yet we were still not offered the same service or options. Her limited English prevented further discussion, but by that point, both my daughter and I felt uncomfortable, singled out, and discriminated against. It was deeply hurtful to experience this type of treatment, particularly in a place that I have supported and recommended for so many years. As a customer of Hispanic descent, I felt unwelcome and disrespected, and it was painful for my daughter to witness such unequal treatment. Last night, however, was my first time dining in, and sadly, it will be my last. I am sharing this not out of anger, but out of disappointment and concern. No guest should ever feel excluded or treated differently based on their appearance or background. I hope you will take this matter seriously and ensure that all your staff provide the same level of hospitality and respect to every customer who visits your establishment. Thank you for your time and attention. I would appreciate a response acknowledging this issue and any steps you intend to take to prevent this from happening to others.

Yelp
We visited this location this afternoon after doing some errands with my wife. She wanted some Chinese place and she heard this is a great location with great reviews. We gave it a try and I am glad that we did. The food was great. The server was on point and it's not expensive for all the food that we got. I will recommend this business and I will definitely come again

Yelp
Stopped by here to pick up shrimp curry. I called in advance and they were a bit busy with constant traffic of people being seated and getting to go orders. I was not able to enjoy the food as I am unaware if they are gluten free but I was told the food was really good.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered online for pick-up. Food was good and ready within 15 minutes. Prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Monique Y.

Yelp
I used to eat here all the time but lately I've been pretty disappointed with the quality of my food and customer service. I always order for pickup the Singapore rice noodles spicy. This was the 3rd time my meal was not made as requested. The noodles weren't spicy and there were flakes of burnt egg pieces. The meal was also lukewarm at best. I called to make a complaint and was told they don't really make spicy noodles....then why not say that when I placed the order. Prices have also increased and the portions have decreased. I ordered crab rangoon and they now charge extra for sweet and sour sauce.

Yelp
Tonight is Chinese New Year 2025. I was craving Chinese food and decided to order hot and sour soup along with beef with snow peas and black mushrooms. The food was ready when I arrived 15 minutes after placing my order. I have been going here for years. I have fond memories of eating here with my family and having fabulous food. It is good but it just doesn't taste the same as in the past. The hot and sour soup was more like mild instead of medium. The vegetable were chopped and not as abundant as before. The beef dish was good too. This is an occasion that I would give 3.5 stars if I could.

Yelp
Go for the early dinner specials - a limited but good menu that gets you some good bang for your buck. Super easy to order over the phone and pick up - they do have a large dining room as well.

Yelp
Great option for traditional, family style Chinese food. There are plenty of menu and special options-- from a variety of vegetables and different proteins, I recommend ordering some items that sound good to try it out! Each shareable plate averages around $15 - $20, which is a bargain. Our party of four ordered four plates, which came out to about $75. My favorite was the kalbi style stir fry. Despite visiting around 8:30PM, we waited very long for the food to come out. There were only two other tables of guests. This is unusual for Chinese restaurants like these, but I'll have to give this place another try!

Yelp
We got take out a few weeks ago and were very disappointed. (Sauces were separated) We called and they told us to come in so they could make it right. We appreciated it but went back tonight and we still weren't impressed with the food and flavors.

Tadeu L.

Yelp
Food... service...and price!! Kudos to the Dragon and the people who works there!! You should try for yourself!
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
Food was so good! Not greasy!! We will definitely order from here again! Way better than China City!

Jai L.

Yelp
Ordered take out. The food is pretty good but get your cholesterol pills ready. The fried rice is very Oily! This one's gonna slide right thru my system....

Yelp
Quick fast service. Large menu with many options. Plenty of parking in a strip mall. I ordered won ton soup, pork dumplings, and Mongolian Beef. The won ton soup was my favorite. The dumplings were ok, and the Mongolian beef wasn't the flavors I am used to. There were plenty of other items on the menu I might try next time.

Rebeca T.

Yelp
This used to be my family's go to spot for tasty Chinese food. Ever since they changed owners, we have noticed a steady decline in the quality. The rice would be hard and tasted reheated. The crab rangoons would be super greasy and limp. The chicken from the honey garlic chicken would be tasteless with large globs of the breading tasting uncooked. I tried to keep giving this place chances hoping it was just them having an off day, but it just keeps getting worse. Today was the last and final time I will be buying from them. The pork fried rice had old moldy bean sprouts that were blue/green. I am not even going to waste my time going back to the restaurant to try to get a refund as I fear that with this new management, it will be a waste of time. Goodbye Dragon Gate!

Yelp
The food is always amazing time after time! Services were great. This restaurant has the authentic Chinese food. You can also special order to your taste.

Yelp
Very delicious and fresh. I see what all the hype was about. It's going to be our go to place from now on.

Yelp
The food was ok. The food needed a bit more flavor, but it was okay. I added more soy sauce to the rice, and it turned out fine. The meat didn't have much taste, but it was well-cooked. Good portion size. I liked the eggroll.

Jay R.

Yelp
New owners, be careful Raised the prices drastically and the quality of the food is sub par Waiter was very rude, this restaurant is due for failure

Yelp
We have never eaten at a Chinese restaurant that served such awful food, poor ambience and lousy service We stumbled on this and decided to take a chance and never again Place is small, poor welcome we were seated and they served some pretzel like dipping sh with mustard sauce Waitress ( the only one we could see) was in a great hurry to take our order , veggie spring rolls and was tasteless Main dish General Chengs chicken and that was poorly made , poorly presented and tasted bad We could hardly eat half of what wad served and did not bother to take the rest. Go figure Finally as we left the person at the counter was busy checking her phone messages and needless to say no courtesy thanks you Never again

Yelp
This is our favorite local Chinese restaurant. Standard dishes, but a little better. I really like the healthy options and usually get the Chicken Delight. The soups are really good too, Won Ton and a special won ton. I see a lot of people getting the hot and sour soups as well. Husband gets honey garlic chicken or fried rice and gives them a thumbs up.

Yelp
OK, so Dragon gate... I have mixed feelings about this one. The food was hot and fresh, but I noticed that the mushrooms in my veggie stir fry were canned. They have meal deals available, but they are not " substitute" friendly. If you have certain dietary restrictions or preferences you'll find it difficult to order from their lunch or dinner meal menu. You'll have to order your items as separate entrees. Which means that you have to pay more for sides of everything else to accompany your main entrée instead of having an option as a combo meal like everyone else. Two other members in my party ordered egg foo young shrimp, style and pork style, pork, fried rice, white rice, and shrimp fried rice. They stated that the egg foo young was under flavored including the light gravy sauce. The fried rice was good. My veggie chow mein with white rice was average, the ice tea was watered down, and the environment was casual so everyone was relaxed. I'd like to have more to say but I don't besides that they're trying to or have tried to remodel their look. Again I have mixed feelings because my visit was a 50-50 experience at this establishment. The classics like fried rice and soup were good but the other items were not.

Yelp
I was looking for a local Chinese restaurant that servers authentic Chinese food and came across this restaurant. It's Christmas Day, and this place is open. The person on the phone was courteous despite how busy they are (one of the few places open Christmas Day for dinner). She told me they have the standard menu, one for take out and one for dine in. They also offer authentic Chinese food if we order it in Chinese with the owner. What a plus!! I've been searching for another restaurant in the miramar/ pines area that serves authentic Chinese food and with good service/ courteous staff. We ordered Peking pork chops, beef &scallops with vegetables, snow pea tips, beef chow fun. All were cooked very well, fresh, good flavor, not overly salty or filled with msg. I will definitely be ordering here or dining in here for my home comfort foods.

Jl J.

Yelp
As a vegetarian, I find myself going out of my way for the food here. I enjoy the vegetable fried rice and garlic eggplant. Today, after ordering and getting home 40 minutes later, I thought I had been given the wrong order. I spoke to the manager who, during our conversation, hung up on me near the end of the conversation. At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe we were disconnected. Then thought, if that were the case, he would have called back because he knew my number as he told it to me earlier. He never did. This left a bad impression on me. Have to rethink were I will be getting my Chinese food now. For this reason, I can only give 2 stars.

Yelp
Order for delivery. Delivery was in time and order arrived perfect. The food was great and was hot

Yelp
Very good food, the ambiance is amazing also the service this is not our first visit, sometime ago we bought our family and the feeling was the same, congratulations!

Yelp
Absolutely inedible. This used to be my go to place for Chinese. Ordered chicken chow fun, spring rolls, meatless wontons and Broccoli with garlic sauce at 5:50pm Thursday night. Called again at 6:50 to be told it was on the way, called again at 7:06 still not here and was about to call to cancel at 7:35 when driver finally arrived! Spring rolls were cold, broccoli was too spicy to eat, asked for mild and chow fun was just saucy and gross looked like ground chicken pieces noodles overcooked and floating in sauce. Meatless wontons were just fried strips with sweet and sour sauce! My order was over fifty dollars and just ended up in the trash. I will never order from here again and you should think twice!

Luis D.

Yelp
This place is a great come and go. They are quick with orders and the staffs are nice. I ordered the sesame chicken and the special pan fried noodle. Both of them have sauce and it wasn't dry at all! The young chow fried rice was so delicious and not dry. The prices are convenient and the atmosphere is welcoming. 10/10 recommended. Great place to go

Emily K.

Yelp
Great everything, we dine there at least once a week! We highly recommend the clay pot dish, and much more.
google avatar

Deborah F.

Yelp
We always have excellent food and service. This is our favorite place to go for Chinese.
google avatar

Luis M.

Yelp
This restaurant is under new management and ownership. when they first took over, I had ordered a family meal for dinner and also ordered a crab Rangoon and when we got the crab Rangoon that it didn't have it not have any filling inside. I complained to the manager about it and they said they were going to correct the issue. Fast forward six months later, I ordered the same thing and again same; hardly no fillingI felt ripped off.
google avatar

Anthony O.

Yelp
Food was ok I'll give you the run down. Mixed soup is different but ok, ribs was sweet my gf liked it but I didn't thought it was alright. Eggroll was ok, crab Rangoon was ok, rice was ok, the wings though was good I'll admit. Service was cool, he forgot our rice but all good still got the tip. Ambiance was appropriate, they were suppose to have Thursday night football on though but whatever lol. Overall 3 stars!

Thandika T.

Yelp
The best food and it's clean- and I love that it is family owned and I think I've been eating there since I was a teenager and they have maintained their authenticity

Timothy P.

Yelp
Just tired of bad food from here. How hard is it to cook fried rice, really? The owner needs to taste it because today was honestly probably the WORST shrimp fried rice Ive tasted in my entire life. Seriously. I've ordered the same fried rice 5 times from here. 1 time the shrimp fried rice is what I would call delicious, other times were mediocre, today was just bad. I kept trying this place out. I wont be back.
google avatar

Kim A.

Yelp
Excellent Chinese food and dim sum. We had a large party of 12 people and were seated immediately. The table is set up for large parties and family style dinner. We ordered sweet and sour soup, various dim sum, fried rice, lo mein, roasted chicken, duck, and beef and broccoli. The food was placed in the middle of the table which spins around making it easy for everyone to enjoy. The service was good. They were attentive and helpful. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
This is usually a good spot but last night was a big fat zero. We were happy that it was open on Christmas. They didn't allow us to order combo meals they said "not on big holidays". So everything was alacarte. The tables were not set but someone came by with looked like dirty forks and knives and placed them on the table. Only 2 napkins for a table of 5. Had to ask to replace and more 2 times. The egg rolls came ice cold. Then cashew chicken was unbearably spicy. The sweet and sour chicken subpar. I told the waitress several times that I could not eat that but she just said really? It's just a one level. I'm very disappointed with that meal.

Terry G.

Yelp
I both dined in and taken out from Dragon Gate more times I can remember over the 12 years living here in Pembroke Pines. In the last 5 years the food looses more and more flavor each time I order in . Tonight was the worst . My dishes were tasteless and skimpy along with quite an increase in price. I had given in and ordered from Dragon Gate because they deliver but NEVER again. it isn't worth the bland small entrees !!!
google avatar

Thomas M.

Yelp
Lots of classic Chinese and Americanized favorites accommodating if you want something customized too. Generally very good but it does seem to vary possibly due to different cooks - sometime the moo shu is amazing, other times just good. Overall, everything is usually nicely prepared, cut up nicely, seasoned just right, good sized portions, normally fresh. Really good egg foo yong. Sometimes they do duck moo sho which we've found varies a lot. Could be really good, or could be terribly mushy and fatty. Anyway, this was always a favorite for classic Chinese. We recently moved away and definitely will miss them.

Jen J.

Yelp
Went to eat some chinese food and our server was extremely friendly and energetic and aimed to please!! Her name is Shirley and there should be at least one Shirley in every restaurant!! I cant say enough about what an asset she is to Dragon Gate! The food was alright but the best part about the experience was the service!! The older man with the glasses at the register was exremely rude to her which i overheard!! Zero tolerance for that kind of behavior!! She should be treated with RESPECT!!

Yelp
I came here today August 28th 2024 around 4:30 5:00 p.m.. I got waited on by a male server. He's been working here for years. I ordered shrimp and vegetables I told them no carrots and I wanted extra bok choy in it. The Wonton soup was very delicious the egg roll was not good and my main meal had a lot of carrots in it and Tiny bits of bok choy the sauce was lousy. The server rushed through my meal and he didn't listen to me on how to prepare the food he could have cared less. I was not happy with the service nor the food. I went there last week with the friend they had Young beautiful women serving Us and the food was absolutely excellent and so was the service we were very very happy. Evidently the food is not consistent depending on the cook in the service is not consistent either. I thought I finally found a restaurant I could go to and relax and have some fantastic Chinese food. Today was very disappointing. Also I want to add that the place is very clean and the ambience is not as beautiful as it used to be with the original owner. He had beautiful Chinese artwork all over the place but he must have taken it with him when he retired LOL I might add the original owner had much better food but he was very grumpy and very unfriendly and I did not miss him being there at all.

Yelp
Food was amazing and it had great quality. The sesame chicken was delicious. It was all chicken, not chewy or skin. Very impressed y the quality of the food. Pork fried rice and crab Rangoon were very good as well. We will only be eating here for authentic Chinese food.

Yelp
Pretty good Chinese food. It's been very difficult to find reasonably priced Chinese food in Hollywood/Pembroke Pines. You search around on Yelp and you either find really bad reviewed resturants or mixed ones. I have yet to find a location where there is mostly only high praise. My mom and I went to this location tonight to try out this location despite its wishy-washy reviews. We both got the dinner combinations, which I must admit, is a great deal. It's the main dish of your choice and includes, a wonton/eggdrop soup, an eggroll, fried rice, and a dessert. I decided to try the sesame chicken and my mom got the beef lo mein. Both of us were impressed with the soups we got. I tried the egg drop which was rich and full of flavor and my mom thoroughly enjoyed the wonton soup which was light and refreshing. We also ordered an order of crab rangoons which included five. They were very tasty and full of cream cheese and crab. Finally, we got our dinners which included the eggrolls and main courses. I liked the sesame chicken but I was not blown away by it. The fried pork rice was just okay, but not anything that exciting. My mom said that she liked the flavor of the beef lo mein, but was not impressed by the cut of beef they added. She said most of it was quite fatty. We both liked our egg rolls, though. At the end of the meal, we were offered three options or dessert: Vanilla ice cream, Chocolate ice cream, or Orange sherbert. I got the Orange sherbert and my mom got the chocolate ice cream. Both were quite tasty. To finish it off, we both were given two fortune cookies. The service was pretty good. Our waiter was fast, attentive and very efficient. I was also surprised that our bill was only $35 with the amount of food we got.

Yelp
I tried m dragon gate several years ago and was not too impressed. We decided to give them another shot this week and had a pretty good experience. Let's do a quick run down... Fried rice- Really good! We were impressed. Pepper Steak- Good flavor but very watery consistency in the sauce. Still would recommend. Egg rolls- Nothing special but they will get the job done. Krab rangoon- More like cream cheese rangoon. Flavor was good. The side of sweet and sour dipping sauce was very thin and watery. Wonton soup- Super salty. Wontons were under cooked. Overall it hit the spot for our Chinese craving. Nothing compares to my favorite spot in Hollywood but this will suffice in a pinch.

Yelp
Good Chinese traditional cuisine, nothing incredible just plain good. I've taken out and eaten in, restaurant is clean and service is fast and courteous.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
I came here for lunch on a Friday. Service was prompt and efficient. Decor is very dated. Food came quickly, I ordered a sweet n sour chicken lunch special. This came with a pot of tea which was free, and a nice touch. The egg drop soup was pleasant. The sweet and sour chicken was a little tasteless. The sweet n sour sauce that came with it was a bright luminous red, which consequently made me worry about unnecessary food colouring n chemicals! The egg fried rice was also dry. I would not come back.
google avatar

Justina B.

Yelp
The food is one of the best Chinese food restaurant. The delivery service is great food and always delicious.

Rose Marie C.

Yelp
For many years, it was my favorite restaurant, this is the first time we ordered since it changed ownership and believe to be the last, food is greasy, tastes and the sauces are watery. Too bad.

Yelp
We are in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. I get that we should support local businesses. I get more that I should be grateful this restaurant is open. However, not one ounce of this is a valid excuse for bland, flavorless food. It was Sunday afternoon and we ordered take out. My boyfriend claimed he hadn't had their food in awhile, and so, I guess he must have forgotten what it tasted like because one bite of this food and I immediately regretted ordering. Well, minus the egg roll (more on that later). We ordered four items: 1) Two egg rolls; 2) Pork gyoza; 3) Chicken lo mein; 4) Pepper steak. The egg rolls, while smaller than what I am used to, were amazing. They were seasoned well and had a crunchy exterior. A bite of this alone made you salivate for more, and given that this was one of two appetizers, it opened up our appetites. We moved onto the gyoza next and they were cold. They also packed it with some weird sauce that I dared not touch. I thought it was soy, but it smelled funny, so I passed on it. The gyoza was cooked fine, but again, cold and nothing spectacular. Basic. Didn't try the pepper steak, but I sampled the chicken lo mein and I wonder if they even put salt in it. The noodles were dry, the onions barely cooked, and the chicken was just edible. You could eat it, but you couldn't savor it. There was no flavor. It was boring. I have no idea if it was what I ordered, but I am severely underwhelmed. So much so that rather than eat leftovers I asked my boyfriend to throw them out. That should say something. I don't like wasting food, but this? I wouldn't feed it to anyone! Well... except the egg roll, which is the only reason this review is two stars.

Yelp
In the mood for Chinese food, we decided to try a new place (for us) out because of the reviews it had received. Located in Pembroke Pines, the restaurant features items from Hunan and Szechuan region. The menu is extensive and features a great selection of lunch specials. The restaurant is following COVID-19 guidelines so there are fewer tables when dining in and the servers are all wearing masks and gloves. It does seem to have a pretty good delivery/take out customer base (which is always a good thing cause it means the food is good) The food didn't take long to arrive once the order was placed. The egg drop soup was yummy, the egg roll was good too. We also ordered the special fried rice amd the honey chicken. The honey chicken actually had the honey syrup on the side which I thought a great idea. The chicken wasn't dry, either. The only thing I didn't like was that the rice tasted a little burnt but no biggie, the overall experience was good. The only waiter that was there was very knowledgeable and friendly and would stop by the table to check that everything was good.

Yelp
My family had I had the best service from Shirley last nite at Dragongate. The food was really good too! 5 stars

Yelp
The food is delicious and good service a little bit overpriced but it is better to pay a little more and have delicious and hygienic food
