Amazing food!! HUGE, HUGE portions!! Service is always top notch!! Christina is our server every Thursday and she is just the sweetest!!! Always takes such great care of us. You definitely get the biggest bang for your buck here!! Super clean inside. Our #1 go-to Chinese place always!!! Oh and the crab ragoons are the BEST!!!

Food was delicious! My daughter and I shared a couple entrees but our new favorite is the Szechuan Chow Mei Fun 😋 The hostess/server was super nice & took great care of us.

For over 10 years I've been a customer here, and for over 10 years I've had my expectations exceeded. I've been here to eat in, ordered to take out and have had it delivered. Each experience was fast, friendly and efficient. I can't find an order of Mongolian Beef anywhere else that I like this much. The woman who hosts is always so sweet, helpful and also stylish. If I could give 6 stars I would. Sometimes ordering on the phone takes a minute due to others ordering before you, but it's never long at all and you are politely put on hold. I went here for.my birthday dinner. I dined in jack the waiter was awesome prompt attentive service The Mongolian Beef was excellent portion was excellent. Couldn't of asked for a better birthday dinner. Thanks so much. Definitely will be back.

The main street to all my favorite restaurants isn’t easily accessible at the moment, due to construction. A google search brought me to this restaurant and I can say, I was not disappointed. The guy at the front desk was nice and friendly. And my food was hot, fresh and delicious! I will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a good first impression!

I ordered the sesame chicken and Mongolian beef to share with family, and nobody could eat the chicken as it tasted Bad. I had to throw it out. I believe it was spoiling.

We have eaten here for years. The prices are higher than most, the portions are large and for the most part we've been satisfied. However, we will not frequent them again! We recently placed an order for 6 meals. i Ordered online and paid as we normally do. I left a tip which I felt was more than fair for the driver inspire of him getting lost and being over the hour in delivering our food. shortly after I received a call from the restaurant asking me why my tip wasn't at least 10%. Our bill was 130.00, my tip for him delivering was more than adequate to drive the few miles to deliver the food but I agreed to her charging my credit card at total if 13.00 to avoid them doing something to my food. We will never eat there again. When we eat in the restaurant we've always left a 20% tip for the service. To call and ask for a higher tip is just not acceptable and they've now lost a frequent customer Tami S.

I've order to go food from here a few times. I can't find my go to meal yet. I ordered the pineapple chicken last time. The sauce was pretty good. I got an egg roll and a crab rangoon and both were tasty. They said 10 minutes to pick up, i walked in and she had it in here hand. So they are quick, I don't think it took me 10 minutes to get there. the gal that checked me out was chatty and friendly and efficient. I;ll keep trying to find my meal of choice there, then they won't be able to get rid of me.

I am gonna have to give this place a "meh". The main was great worth going back and seeing if they can redeem themselves. The problem lies with the sides. The fried rice was full of peas and carrots, I ordered it with no vegetables, it was explained to me when I got there to pick up our order that it comes pre made with veggies. The spring roll was cold And oily. And the egg drop soup was bland. I ordered 2 generals chicken dinners and a sweet and sour dinner. It was honestly enough food for 9 people. I can not stress this enough the main was amazing! No complaints at all about the chicken dishes!

I had a great experience here! The food is very goo, especially for the cost. The portions are also great. I did not catch our servers name but she was so helpful with the menu and overall a very nice person. I also really love the decoration in the restaurant.

Whenever I'm on my "Fat-Boy-Shit"!!! That's "My Spot"... The combination Lo Mein with the supersize wonton soup and the pot stickers with the hot oil, Shit, tell me I'm not on my fat boy! Since 2015

I've been eating Dragon House food for longer than I'd like to admit. As a special treat we used to order their lunch when I worked downtown. I've always appreciated the tasty food and it's certainly plentiful. I usually have enough for 3 meals.

Love this place always good always on time, unfortunately everyone I order I never get my drinks. Ordered yet again tonight and no drinks. ‍ I tried three times now so I'll probably order from somewhere else.

Dragon house has to be the worst tasting Chinese food I have ever experienced, I ordered the sesame chicken and every single piece of chicken had a rubber texture and couldn't even be chewed. If I could give this place a 0 star I most definitely would. I wouldn't doubt it if there food is rotten

I order from Dragon house east, and when i got the food, the bag was filthy, rice wasn't cooked and customer service to fix the issue was terrible as well. just a horrible experience.

We regularly order from Dragon House. For 10 years it's been our favorite Chinese. I've never had cold food, they've never once messed up our order, I've never had rude service and the drivers are always very friendly. We even order oddly like "Mongolian beef, $3 extra beef and please keep the rice noodles in a separate container." Sesame chicken is great, General Tso's chicken is good, the best crab Rangoon and egg rolls. My husband loves their fried pot stickers.

Bad delivery service took 1.5 hrs to get to the hotel and food was bad did not taste good or look appealing

This is the second time we have taken advice of people telling us the food was good. We ordered an appetizer platter, the beef and shrimp were burnt to start and found the sweet and sour to have a very distinct taste of vinegar as did the sesame chicken which was spongy not crisp. In all fairness some of this is subject to taste but burning things is just bad. On a side note we also got onion rings and they were good hence the 2 star.

We're in Des Moines for work & staying in the east side downtown. This restaurant pulled up in our Uber eats app for Chinese food with 4.0 star so we ordered from them. We got their combination fried rice & the shrimp & beef chef's specialty. The food was bland, there's no spice in it. No salt no nothing. The meat in the fried rice doesn't taste anything at all. It's BLAND. So since I also got that beef & shrimp chefs special and that has a sauce I figured I'll use the sauce & mix it with my fried rice. Same thing it's bland. It's like they run out of soy sauce or garlic or onions that you use to sauté things in.

We love their food, I would have given them 5 stars.....but they seem unable to get delivery orders right! You order 2 white rice, you get one white and one brown. You specify "No Soup" they still send soup, just 2 different kinds. You order 2 crab Rangoon, they send one. It's kind of ridiculous!

VERY disappointed! This has to be the worst Chinese place in all of Des Moines. I ordered for delivery. I got the Mongolian Beef meal it came with 8 tiny pieces of beef and I mean when I say small they where the size of a quarter. it came with soup which was okay, but very bland, it also came with an egg roll, which was also very small and not just small it was cold on the inside. I'm pretty sure they freeze these and re heat them and Because I got delivery I had to order at least $10 worth of food so I added fried beef wontons they were nothing but chewy breading I didn't even find meat in 2 of them and the other 4 the beef was so small the pieces were the size of my pinky nail I promise I am not over exaggerating. If I could up load that picture on here I would. My total for this sloppy mess was $17 with delivery fee and tip. I will never be eating here again. **** ADDED A PHOTO OF MY BEEF WONTON

Just spent 36$ to toss it in the trash! Got sesame chicken, crab Rangoons, egg rolls and paid an extra 4$for lo mein. I did carry out everything is already cold and I live right down the street. Re heated it but it still taste like it sat out all day. The lo mein has no color and no taste like they forgot to add the seasoning. Extremely dissatisfied and won't be back! Wish I could give 0 stars

When I lived on the east side of Des Moines, we always used to come here or get delivery. The great part is they do deliver literally all over the metro! My favorite dishes are the empress chicken and chicken lo mein. The rice is decent and the soup is decent. Not the best Chinese I've ever had but definitely crave once in awhile. If your on that side of town and are wanting Chinese, make sure to check it out!

We frequently order delivery from Dragon House East. Usually, it's good or at least acceptable. (They aren't really consistent.) Tonight, out of the 3 meals we ordered - 2 of them contained spoiled ingredients and had to be thrown out. We have spent a considerable amount of money ordering from this restaurant, but now I think we have to stop. Which is sad, because there are no other Chinese restaurants that deliver to our house.

They don't answer the phone when I've called the last few times for ordering thus I ordered online. I obviously ordered a variation of what I intended to order, my mistake. I took the delivery order back to them. It was a bunch of noodles and left it there and they wouldn't give me a refund or even offer to correct the order. First and last time for terrible customer service as I've always ordered from them w/o issues. I talked to the manager even... she didn't care. It's awful!

First time trying this place I was going to have them deliver our food but it said it would be about 50 minutes so I decided to do pick up since it would be ready within 20 minutes. I'm pregnant and very hungry! My husband went to pick it up alone since our baby had just fallen asleep, he messaged me that they had given our order to someone else and now we had to wait another 10 minutes! He still hasn't arrived! Not sure how the food will taste but at this point that doesn't even matter to me.

Food was garbage wife and kids got lo mein no sauce undercooked noodles egg rolls soggy the fried rice didn't even seem to be fried might as well been steamed rice and worst of all the beef and onion a couple tiny slivers of beef with a giant pile of onion. Worst of all I call to at least get a new order of beef and onion as im not happy paying 13 dollars for a pile of onion and the guy who answered says oh ill talk to my chef and thats it no offer to bring a new one or a credit for next order pitiful will never get food there again!

Fast delivery and pick up is ready in 15 minutes. I recommend the Beef broccoli or mu shu beef.

My favorite food is Chinese-when I moved from the Central Coast of CA- I needed to find a Chinese restaurant that 1-delivered 2-had fresh veggies in their recipes3-didn't fry everything(meat/poultry)unless it's supposed to be fried-egg rolls- I found these folks & their food is great! Consistent- I have never had a bad experience in 13 years- I tried I can't tell you how many others. I usually get their chicken cho Mein Fun- white rice noodles with veggies -I am also found of their shrimp & vegetables- I have eaten here but I usually will come and pick it up-you don't have to wait long-pleasant atmosphere.

Went here for lunch and it was almost empty. Service was good and food came out pretty quickly. Food was dang good. Had an authentic Asian food feel to it. Would definitely go again for supper. Also the meals are not too pricey for the quality.

I place my order online at 7:04 p.m. said that of my order would be here within 45 minutes to an hour. I called the restaurant 45 minutes later. they proceed to tell me that sorry we did not get your order but it's right here we can start making it and get it to you within 45 more minutes. I'm hungry just wanted my food to not be told I have to wait another hour to eat my dinner. Ugh poor service and no dinner

This is by far one of the worst meals I have ever had. Used their on line app for the first time which was easy and convenient. We ordered the following: Crab Rangoon ( dried with hardly no filling and was hard as a rock) Friend Wontons ( hard as a rock, had to use all your strength just to break it in half) Chicken Sautee (dried and looked like it had been sitting there for a few days) Was charged for extra sauce which they never put in the bag. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

I placed my order at 8:30pm and received a call at 9:51pm that they had just received my order and hadn't even began it, then the lady said that they will be closed so the driver would be delivering it in his own car and asked about a tip, I said you have a $2.00 service fee and I put $2.00 on the card (also I tip cash at my door depending on delivery) she said that is a very little tip. I reminded her that I placed the order over an hour ago and they were just now filling it, not to mention since when is a tip mandated? This is based on service and I find it very unethical that anyone would ask about a tip especially knowing that they misplaced my order. The food arrived at 10:20pm they didn't put my drinks in that I paid for and my daughter refused to eat it because of the poor attitude on the phone she was worried they spit in it. Their was no apologies for their mistake and no thank you for our business. I of course couldn't call because they were closed and as of today 11:30am they haven't called to tell me they forgot our drinks that I paid for so I am assuming they used that as a tip without my consent?

What a disappointing meal. Never again Dragon House East, your duck was Crispy because it was burnt, The shrimp toast had a rotten seafood smell to it and my other item was just wrong, the Hot and Sour soup was gloopy from to much cornstarch and bland and the eggrolls just sucked. Thank you for helping me waste $32 of my money.

I've ordered here about a year now and order pretty often and the quality has gone down hill and I ordered extra meat and told them I want beef not chicken said please and thank you and when it got here guess what I got Chicken!

We have always enjoyed this place before but lately the last 2 times we have ordered food to go, the food has been way salty, they gave us the wrong soup(I asked for egg drop and was given hot sour) nasty. I always order an order of crab rangoon it was barely warm. Even when I was told it would be 15-20 minute wait I always show up before the time and my order was already there which leads me to believe the food is NOT cooked to order. We ordered Beef egg foo young and the vegetables were hard as rocks and food was mediocre at best. It ysed to have beansprouts in it mow it has cabbage. I am sad about these past few experiences. When I called to order the phone rang and rang and when answered I was put on hold. Always before there was an older gentleman there to handle things..I am wondering if ownership has channged or if he is on vacation. I probably wont be back.

Took 1hour 10minutes to get here. Brought somebody else's order and then tried to sell us the order he was supposed to give that other person.

I've been eating dragon house regularly for the past 10 years and the food has always been great! Hot n sour soup is a must especially in the winter! And their orange chicken is excellent. Ask for orange chicken extra crispy and you wouldn't be disappointed.

I ordered the hot braised pork it seems like they use the same sauce for all the meals just change the meat and name. the crab Rangoon didn't have any crab in it just cream cheese. the egg roll was a joke and the egg drop soup the peas, carrots and corn was old and hard almost chalky I will never order from here again

Before the other night when we ordered delivery from this location I would have given a 5 star review. Food was always good and delivery times were acceptable. It's not uncommon for us to order a $30-$40 order each week from here. When we placed our last delivery order it arrived on time and the food was correct, but the attitude of the delivery drive was very unacceptable. He told us that we were basically too far from their location and that we should be ordering from our local Chinese restaurant and not from them. There's a reason we order from this restaurant, because we like their food. We get consistent food and even though the prices might be a little high, I've always enjoyed their food and they were always my first choice when it came to Chinese food. But to hear them basically tell us they don't want our business anymore and they would prefer if we ordered from some place else is very disrespectful and they have most certainly lost long-time customers for good. If this restaurant feels that delivering to our area is too far for them and they would prefer not to deliver to us, then maybe they should change their delivery area.

This was some of the worst chinese food I've ever experienced. The Chicken and Broccoli was disgusting and the chicken was under-cooked. Would never eat here again.

I used to love this place. It's been awhile since I have ordered. I was craving it tonight and somewhat let down. Yes it's good but not as amazing add it used to be. Maybe it was just a bad night for them. I will try a few more times before I give up.

Good traditional Chinese food in pleasant surroundings and fast, courteous wait staff. Very small tables make managing the huge servings somewhat of a problem.
