Dragon Inn

"This restaurant is known by almost everyone in the neighbourhood and was revamped in 2017 to include more private rooms alongside the main dining hall. Most guests pick their seafood from the nearby wet market for the chefs here to cook up; others choose from the catch of the day without looking at the menu. Baked baby lobster with cheese and baked oysters with port are not to be missed. It also serves dim sum during the day." - Michelin Inspector

The interior is nothing fancy but reveals a certain atmosphere of HK in the old days. I appreciate the spaciousness and the abundance of daylight and greenery visible through the windows. It definitely brings back nostalgic memories for many Hong Kong generations, especially the seniors. There are many highly regarded dishes but I believe simple dishes best reflect the quality of a good restaurant. I am always happy with their dim sum, succulent cha siu, and roasted goose, which always deliver a satisfying gastronomic experience and remind me of what you might miss from a Chinese restaurant. This is one of the few remaining historical Chinese restaurants in HK that we should treasure.

Our generation of over 60 ... will remember the name Dragon Inn ... in its original location it was a place where movies were shot & talk of the town personalities would show up for afternoon teas ... This current incarnation focused on traditional Cantonese cuisine rather than the huge open patio where the original venue used to boast. Highlights ... Roasted Squab ... crispy skin & succulent a classic, a sprinkle of five spiced salt gives it a kick .. a perfect starter! Their Dim Sum ... I would say most items on their dim sum menu are done very well, all items are freshly steamed to order and came out pipping hot! Ask them for their XO sauce as an accompaniment! Service is very friendly and professional, a few times we tend to over order and they are kind enough to stop us! Parking .. they have ample private covered parking, make sure you register with he reception!

Went there due to their fame -- recommended by Michelin for 15 years continuously. Felt a bit disappointed as food was not as good as expected. Environment was good as there was sufficient space between tables.

Well worth the trip out to Tuen Mun, for some of the best dim sum. Everything is freshly made and they also have different dishes not seen elsewhere in HK. They do very traditional, but difficult to find Cantonese dishes, such as braised oysters in Port wine. Corkage is a very reasonable HK$100 per bottle. We visit 4-5 times per year.

This is the type of Chinese restaurants that you bring your own seafood and they cook it for you. Tried their specialty cheese lobsters (basically lobsters served in half topped with crispy molten cheese) and it was quite good. They also properly prepare the different seafoods in different ways, turning them into amazing dishes. One downside is that they are rather pricey, particularly taking in the fact that you're bringing seafood that you paid for at the wet market. Service was amazing and they gave us free red bean soup.

Super Super tasty for handling all the seafood , it’s completely and absolutely the seafood you brought from the market, they cook for the way according to your request , their BBQ Pork, Roast Duck and Sweet & Sour Pork are very good, oh! Their soup of the day is marvellous , superior stock and can see is full of ingredients Master chef will walk around the restaurant and check the guest satisfaction. Even recommend some special cooking methods for the specific seafood cooking . Restaurant is clean and tidy , big and comfortable Very friendly service

Huge lunch course here. Tried a lot of dishes which were all very good. Some were a bit of a miss (sorry can't remember) but the steamed coconut 🥥 dessert was great! Sadly, half the toilets were under renovation and it was very wet in there. Detracted from the whole experience.
