‘Love Is Blind’ Season 3 Cast Pick Their Favorite Dallas Restaurants | Eater Dallas

"Bartise Bowden and Colleen Reed both picked this hot-spot steakhouse with a club vibe in Park Cities. For Bartise, the perfect meal at Drake’s means starting with the calamari, ordering a bone-in rib eye, and finishing with an espresso martini at the bar. Colleen calls it “my go-to spot for a celebration,” and recommends the mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, filet pizza, and the “heavenly” martinis." - Courtney E. Smith

Google
Had a great dinner experience at Drake's Yoke after visiting Weatherford for the peach festival. Atmosphere is very nice, and our server Natalie was wonderful. I had the brisket tacos, they were really good. Very flavorful with a good spice.

Google
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Second time here and the food and service has been impeccable each time. The atmosphere reminds you of the Texas Country and oil field settings. Very relaxing. Even have outdoor covered sitting area with fans and heat surrounding an old Whitaker oil pump. The meat servings are not small. It’s the baked potatoes are like super sized andgreat flavor.

Google
Are at the bar and Tye was awesome. He kept up with the heavy pace and always checked on us. The brisket tacos were delicious. Nice selection of beers. I will definitely be back .!

Billy Bob Thornton would find this “land-grab” of a meal worth every penny! The advocado toast was unexpectedly deliciousio! The candied brussel sprouts danced with sweetness on my tongue. Mac and cheese (shells weren’t they?). Outside of that any child would enjoy but for an adult I found it to be a bore. The smothered chimi was an excellent fusion of southern BBQ and “San Antonio” great Tex-Mex! My 18 yr old devoured Drake’s Hash like a wild hog to the crisp freshly fallen apples from an orchard. Unfortunately, they had run out of the St. Louis style ribs so that will have to wait until next time. Our second choice to the ribs was a 2 meat special…brisket and sausage. I found the brisket to have beautiful smokey mesquite overtones which purely complimented the Black Angus. No BBQ sauce was needed. The side of cheesy grits hit home like your grandma making them for their favorite grandchild. & $1 mimosas to boot!! Please like and subscribe for the BEST restaurants!

Google
We came here to celebrate an early Mother’s Day and it was truly the best experience ever. Izzy was our server and she was absolutely stellar. Fantastic service, great atmosphere, and the best fish tacos I’ve ever had! The mimosas were great too!

Google
Started off good sitting at bar it’s 3:30pm on a Friday so not too busy and I’m at bar so easy access. I order a tall TX and coke not bad but mix could be better amount of ice diluted it fast. I order the Shrimp, Burnt ends and fired green tomato from appetizers and a side of the Candied Brussels Sprouts. Food shows up with good presentation and the shrimp, burnt ends and fried green tomato is very good. The Candied Brussels Sprouts could have used more break apart and crisping because at serving it was a bit green and a bit tart. Several servers walked by during dining and never once asked how food was. Not to say they weren’t staying busy prepping for the evening run but a little more attention would go a long way. All in all I give them a 4.0/5.0

Google
Delish!!! Surprise Surprise $1.00 Mimosas 😁 both of our meals were delicious, although hubby was a little sad he couldn't get his ribs until 1:00 p.m. I guess we'll have to plan accordingly next time.... AND there will be a next time!!!

Sean C.

Google
Brisket and sausage on the 2 meat plate…AMAZING! Smoked to perfection! Smothered chimi was an excellent vessel that fulfilled my craving for brisket. Mac and cheese was a bit bland but the candied Brussel Sprouts were to kill for! Really nice decor. Suitable for family meals and even for taking a date.

Yelp
Food was great and Jessica did a great job serving a large group!!! We had smoked plate, deviled eggs. Brunt ends and fried shrimp and we few drinks! The peach cobbler was also amazing!

Yelp
My wife and I (party of 2) came in at 6pm on a Saturday. The place was fairly busy and the patio was booked out for a private event. After sitting down in the waiting area, a second non-reservation patron (single) came in. Despite us being there first, and despite there being single space availability at the bar, the single patron told the hostess that he couldn't sit at the bar because he was alcoholic and connected with the manager over his sobriety. He was promptly seated at a 2-top over us. This complete lack of professionalism and blatant preferential treatment was a complete disgrace... we ended waiting a little while longer before being seated. Suffice to say, it ruined my evening and I won't be back. I'd give them zero if I could - the food might as well have been sawdust after my experience at the front-of-house.

Yelp
Chicharrones 10/10. It's the sauce! Dessert, delicious, drinks 10/10, bar tenders great! Food. Okay!
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Sunday at 11am for brunch! We got the avocado toast, burrito, queso and chip. Can't forget the chicken and waffles! The portions were HUGE and the price was great! The food was excellent, fresh and hot! The server- Lillian was awesome! She was attentive and gave us recommendations on what they served. The atmosphere was nice, the booths were cute and the hostess were very kind. We will be back!
google avatar

Jody R.

Yelp
Super fun look inside, I had a blueberry cocktail and the loaded baked potato which was amazing.
google avatar

Carren R.

Yelp
From the decor, service and the quality of food, this place was awesome. I had two of my friends bring me here. They raved about it. They were right. The burnt ends and shrimp-amazing! Baked potato delicious! Can't wait to go back!

Isabelle D.

Yelp
Our server had a killer mustache, but ruined the vibe. $1 mimosas dont have champagne & our waiter was awkward trying to rush us out to visit his girl.
google avatar

Miguel G.

Yelp
Had a great time with our friends. The chili was fantastic, the wings were great and our server John was very good and pleasant

Josh R.

Yelp
Came in for a late dinner. Brisket sandwich was great. Drinks were good too. Izzy was awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by while traveling. Our table ordered everything to share. The Charcuterie board was fantastic. Loved the inclusion of tortilla instead of a traditional bread. Deviled eggs were tasty, but lacked the mayonnaise taste of homemade versions. Chicken Fried Steak was phenomenal in every way. Definitely get that. If you're into Bloody Mary's, have a little time to wait, and want something fun, ask for "The Colonel".
google avatar

LYNSAY H.

Yelp
Brunch, lunch, patio seating or bar. Friendly staff, awesome espresso martinis, fried chicken salad & fried green tomatoes. It's my go to lunch place from now on!
google avatar

Jessie B.

Yelp
I think this place is great. We've never had an issue with food or service here! I LOVE the charcuterie board. That's what I usually have as a meal. The deviled eggs are yummy. Honestly, everything I've eaten here has been very good!!!! We love sitting outside. The kids enjoy the play area. We love coming here!!
google avatar

Diana A.

Yelp
Great food! Although they forgot our appetizer ... but the ambience was great- we had our dogs and the food was delicious Avocado Bacon Burger was really good. Blackened Redfish was really good- the sauce on top and sides were huge.

Dusty S.

Yelp
Great service, they did cut me off at brunch. I feel like that needs to be noted. Food was great they just won't let you order more than 5 mimosas.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Food is always amazing here. Had some burnt ends and then the BBW plate. Was perfect sizes for both and had a little to bring home as well. It was a light night there is the ambiance was great (not being so crowded).

Yelp
1:20 pm later lunch: Service was really good, but Burger bun was soggy and fries were old, must have been from lunch service. Love their dinners but I wouldn't do a late lunch again.

Yelp
Well I'm going to start off and say the host is the worst rude no f's giving employee I have ever seen . We walked in and know body was around. So we stood there and finally my girlfriend went and found someone. Then he couldn't seat us so here comes the laziest hostess I have ever seen . It was like she was trying to rewrite the seating chart . Long story short I would have liked to had more food and drinks but I can deal with restaurants with rude lazy people. Every time she walked by she did a creepy grin . But food was good beer was cold . But I will say I won't be back cause of her . That's why the 2 star maybe management will see this and rethink there employees . But like I said food was good .

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited for the first time on a Sunday. The crowd was not too busy when we were seated, but eventually grew by the time we left. Loved the ambiance - Well decorated and a bright, comfortable atmosphere. Our server was very kind by answering our questions about the restaurant and food suggestions. Though i'm sure it may not have been their most famous dish, I had a strong craving for a baked potato, and so I opted for the Rig Hand potato and my boyfriend chose the brisket tacos. My boyfriend gave an immediate yes to the brisket tacos - I didn't even get a chance to try them they were gone so quickly. I asked for the Mac and Cheese on the side for my Rig Hand potato, and I'm glad I did. I wasn't a complete fan of it, but the rest of the ingredients were tasty. Good portions sizes as well. I look forward to trying different items on the menu.

Yelp
Excellent food and service, food was served fresh and was an excellent birthday gathering.

Teia P.

Yelp
The food was delicious, atmosphere was awesome. Not a whole lot on the menu, which has its advantages & dis advantages. Again the food was delicious.

Yelp
Came here for lunch/brunch on a Saturday and no wait line. Food is phenomenal, fairly priced, and generous portions. 1.00 mimosas for brunch! Patio area is super nice with a play area for kids. Pet friendly. I wish they would change the bench seat on the wall though. Not comfortable to sit in as it's too high and makes you lean forward. Only other complaint is the tap water has an awful taste and glasses are very dirty. All food seems to be scratch made. Nicole was our server and took great care of us. GET THE COLONEL BLOODY MARY!!! But know it will take about 15 minutes to get out together. Well worth it.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
Dropped into for lunch while passing through. Excellent appetizers. We tried three items off the appetizer menu and liked them all. The Bloody Mary's had good flavor and the Los Vaqueros martini was very good. The Colonel was a meal in its own. Loved the fried green tomatoes that accompanied the Bloody Mary and the Burnt Ends. I wish a whole order was an option but I didn't inquire. The banana pudding was great as an ended. Christian our server was on point attending to our every need and checking in on a regular basis without being overbearing. The furnishings everywhere are well done and the patio is heated. Nice stop on our way down I 20

Tanner B.

Yelp
Only had breakfast here, but would go again. Some of the staff are young and don't know how to hustle, but you can tell the ones that know how to serve. Would recommend to anyone.
google avatar

Krystal P.

Yelp
First of all the decor inside is classic, industrial and comfy all in one. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable we sat at the bar and our bartender was Caden. He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable! The manager even made his way over and was very nice and shows he cares for his customers and staff. Which is a +++++! The place is perfect for a date night, a patio experience, or even to catch a beer and a game! We will be back and I highly recommend anyone to try it out! The chicken fried steak was amazing. The backed potatoes are massive! And who doesn't love a good pork rind!
google avatar

Yelp
Came in on a Friday evening. Had the blackened redfish and it is fantastic. Great place, has a covered patio that's out of the sun in the afternoon/evening. Will be back, service was great. Overall impressed

Yelp
It was just okay. We finally made it to Drakes Yoke. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. We wanted patio seating but there were no clean tables so we were seated indoors. It took about 10 minutes for a server to stop and ask if we'd been helped yet. She was very nice and took our orders. Food took a while but was presented well. Our server had our main meal split for us - that was nice. The Fried Shrimp and Burnt Ends Small Plate was served on a cool board. Great presentation. The shrimp and the goat cheese were real nice. The single slice of fried green tomato was super greasy. And unfortunately, the cubes of burnt ends were tough and chewy. The 2-Meat Smoke Plate was presented nicely and our server had it split for us - thank you :) We had Ribs and Brisket. Similar to the burnt ends, both the ribs and brisket were dry. That said, the flavor was nice. I really wanted Drakes Yoke to be a better experience for us as they're nearly local to us. That all said, I am sure like all area restaurants, they are short-staffed and this likely contributed to our overall experience. I will give them a rest for now but I will try them again down the road.

Toni S.

Yelp
Amazing food, fantastic menu and super fun atmosphere! Great service from Marissa, she was very attentive!

Yelp
Its been 3 years since I reviewed Drakes Yoke and they are always.... amazing. Tonight my husband was asking our sweet waitress Kay about certain beers, light versus IPAs and hoppy beers. Next thing the manager, Daniel, came sat with Ed and offered him three beer samples. It was classy ! I've dined at a couple of upmarket San Francisco restaurants back in the day and never encountered this level of service and personal attention. Thank you Daniel and thank you Kay for being so genuine and making dinner memorable.

CAROL L.

Yelp
Had lunch with a friend. Ordered salads which were very good. Large menu. Liked the decor of the restaurant. Would recommend

Yelp
Having driven past Drakes Yoke a myriad of times since moving out this way earlier this year, we actually made it our first dine-in restaurant visit since Covid began, mainly because of their large, open air patio. For any place that offers BBQ, normally I would defer to any dish that has smoked meats in it, but I was in the mood for something different and the Shrimp and Grits jumped out at me, while The Wife ordered the Asparagus and Brisket Salad. I couldn't have been happier with my choice as this was the best shrimp and grits I've had in some time. Drakes caught the balance of good ol' fashioned southern grits, combined with almost New Orleans-Style BBQ shrimp by serving them deliciously blackened, butterflied, and with their heads to boot. The sauce from the blackened shrimp combined nicely with the creamy grits. The wife's brisket salad came with several slices of thick-cut brisket that did have a nice smokiness to it and pulled apart well. Nice brisket for a place that doesn't really advertise itself as a BBQ-only restaurant. Given its proximity, we definitely plan on coming back to try more of their unique menu, or god willing, when Covid is finally vanquished, perhaps some jovial drinks on their large patio.

Enie B.

Yelp
Nice place to eat and hang out love the menu. Courteous staff! Generally this joint is a great for groups and for date nights too! Great selection of alcoholic drinks.
google avatar

Krystal H.

Yelp
Food was a C/C- My kids waffle was burnt beyond being edible and the chicken tender was hard, cold, and flavorless. I got a cramp in my hand trying to cut it up for him. Just because it's a kids meal, doesn't mean it's okay to serve bad burnt food. My husband's chicken and waffles were much better but the "candied" bacon was burnt as well. I like very crispy bacon but this was just like charcoal. I got the asparagus brisket salad and it was ok. Brisket was all fat which I'm not going to eat so I left hungry. Definitely not worth the price (except for the $1 mimosas) also, their water tastes like a swimming pool. Service was ok, they were short staffed. Also, this place is LOUD so don't expect to be able to have a relaxing meal and a conversation.
google avatar

Monica J.

Yelp
Nicole was awesome server! Hubby and I came out for a quick lunch and she was a breath of fresh air on a dreary day. She had us giggling so much and had amazing energy. The food was really good today, came out in a timely manner and the portion sizes were perfect. Long story short, came for the food and stayed for a long lunch because our server was amazing and didn't rush us, just laughed with us and made us feel so welcome. Someone give her a raise!!
google avatar

Drew D.

Yelp
We went a busy weekend evening. The wait was short. The service here is excellent and our server was extremely helpful. Our food was excellent and we had a wide variety of items. What a pleasant surprise!

Yelp
Visited today with my mom & we had a really great time here for lunch! What we ordered: - Orange juice mimosa (mom loved it!) - Grapefruit juice mimosa (sweeter than expected) - Charcuterie board (FAV thing we ordered!!!! The goat cheese & Brie were fabulous, everything on it was the perfect combo) - Grilled Salmon Spinach Salad (it was a bit spicy for my mom, but to me the spice was great & we both loved the asparagus & the vinaigrette it came with) - Shrimp & Grits (unfortunately not my fav - the jalapeño grits weren't quite spicy enough to me, and the grits & shrimp were both WAY too salty......as someone who is cool with a good level of salt, that's saying something lol! Pretty much felt like all I could taste was salt so I won't order this again, but would def return to try something else!) - Motown Mule (LOVED!!!) Our server was super sweet & overall we liked it! I like the atmosphere a lot, would be a great date night spot!

Lynn D.

Yelp
We usually have a good experience and love the food but today missed the mark horribly. We ordered the redfish and it was over cooked. The candied Brussels were so dark brown that they were nearly burned. The grits and baked potato were so lukewarm that the cheese didn't even melt on top. The potato and Brussels honestly tasted like yesterdays food. If this was my first experience I would never come back. Will give them another chance. Hopefully this was an off day. The service was good tho.
google avatar

Danny C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this spot for lunch. The vibe is great and everyone was super nice. If you haven't experienced "The Colonel" then we suggest making the trip for brunch, just for that item. It will be the best $15 you spend. Very innovative food options on the menu.... And all tasted great. We will definitely be back to enjoy some more.
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
This is downright the best place I've ever eaten at in Weatherford, Texas. We stopped here after dealing with unreasonable traffic and it was an amazing decision. The food was delicious, drinks were just what I wanted and the atmosphere was great. Eric, however, is who really made the experience. He let us complain about the drive, kept the beers coming and made excellent food suggestions (dip your fries in the peppercorn aioli). It's always great to have a friendly ear, especially on a day like today. Thanks, Eric! I would definitely recommend this place if you're driving by or close to the area. It's family friendly but DEFINITELY desperate traveler friendly as well.
google avatar

Lex H.

Yelp
We have been to Drakes Yoke several times since moving to the area a year ago. We like the food, especially the brisket and "comfort food" like the chicken fried steak. This visit I got just a Blue Cheese Side (trying to watch carbs) and normally I am not a salad lover but this one was an exception! It was delicious, a great mix of the usual things but a killer blue cheese dressing. In fact I liked it so much I ordered a 2nd side salad as one was not enough. One recommendation to the owner would be to put a full 1/2 wedge as a salad entree- I think it would be a big hit. Still keep the side salad of course, just promote it to the full menu - it deserves it!!
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
Extremely good food! Awesome atmosphere! Great drinks! Will definitely be back! The best ribeye I've had in a very long time! Salad was really good too, their homemade honey mustard was great also! We got banana pudding to go!

Ken K.

Yelp
In area visiting and used Yelp to find a restaurant. Another success! We found this place to be very good, staff was very friendly, and service good. Deviled eggs were awesome, BBQ delicious, sides unique. We will definitely be back.

Trumanell M.

Yelp
Very comfortable patio seating. Our server was charming and gave us good advice on the menu. The blacked redfish - yum! Not extremely spicy, but nice texture with crunchy veggies. The candied Brussels sprouts - well no one else at my table wanted to share them. More for me! This place is easy to get to, right off the highway. We all agreed to meet there for brunch sometime. Yes, we will go back!
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
We are big fans of Drakes Yoke. We have been coming here since it opened for special occasions. Today, our server, Kodi, has been great and very attentive. Thanks for making our birthday celebration special.

Holly V.

Yelp
Great food great service and cool atmosphere . Both inside and outside seating are comfortable and very nicely decorated. Good cocktails great craft beer selection. Brisket tacos are AMAZING . Mac and cheese is awesome!! The bloody Mary's are the biggest bomb with or without the snacks! Highly recommend Drakes !
google avatar

Bella V.

Yelp
Koti was very helpful. The place is very clean and neat. I will definitely come back for dinner. The food was very tasty!
google avatar

Brandon W.

Yelp
The Service is amazing, Travis was so kind and helpful with the menue. And the eggs were delicious

Jeff F.

Yelp
Koti was great as our server. She was happy to help and exhibited a sunny attitude. The fries with my burger were a little too salty and my wife's waffle was over done but the gravy and chicken were excellent. We'll be back.
google avatar

Alexandrea C.

Yelp
The decor and layout were nice and open. I noticed a patio but I didn't get a good look but seems like it would be great once the weather warms up. Server (blonde female) was very very sweet and training another server. This did not cause any issues, both were very attentive and friendly. I kept it simple with an Avocado Bacon Burger. Nothing special about it but it certainly hit the spot. I can't find the name of the drink I got but jeez it was HUGE!! I didn't expect it to be as large of a drink as it was lol. It was delicious and I will absolutely get it again, but at least next time I'll be more prepared! I would really like to come back for brunch sometime! I live in the neighborhood and for some reason always assumed it was a brunch spot? Not sure why I thought that. But I did notice they added a larger brunch selection and am excited to check that out.
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
If you're looking for good barbecue, this is not the place for you. They've obviously spent a lot on the building and skimped on their meat suppliers and pit master.
