"Drawl Southern Cookhouse and Whiskey Room in Lincoln Park wants to feed everyone ribs. On Tuesday nights, chef Justin Stadler sells an off-menu rack of smoked barbecue ribs ($27). To prepare them, he brines the ribs for 24 hours, dry-rubs them with spices, then smokes them low and slow for six hours. Afterward, he finishes them in a wood-fire oven, dressed Texas-style, with a Coca-Cola barbecue sauce." - Kat Odell

"The replacement restaurant for LP Stadium, the shuttered Lincoln Park sports bar, opens today with jerky smoked onsite, wood-fired flatbreads, and a whisky room. Drawl appears radically different compared to its predecessor at 2423 N. Clark Street. Ownership took down all the TVs that once littered the space and are focusing on life as more of a restaurant than bar compared to other spots along that stretch of Clark Street." - Ashok Selvam

Good place for brunch. Has good selection of whiskey and cocktails are descent. Food tasted great. Good balance taste. Only problem I had was the chicken and biscuit. I wanted more texture difference since most of the components of the dish are mainly soft. I did try it with the steak fried chicken which surprisingly work well with the gravy and biscuit.

I really "wanted" to love this place because the location is great and convenient to where I live and the decore and ambiance is excellent. It's got a cute southern charm and a whiskey tasting room that is really cool! Unfortunately though, we didn't think the food was all that good. I had the Nashville Hot Wings and they...were...HOT! I was warned beforehand by the waiter, but was up for the challenge as I like spicy food... but these were over the top.. which would be fine if you could order them a different way and have options, but unfortunately they only come one way... spicy as HELL! They had to bring me a pitcher of water, a Sprite and a milk to cool the flames. My g/f had the flat bread which we found to be thick and doughy...not good at all. The gumbo was pretty good but small. Those items and two drinks came to $75, which is over the top for what it was. Unfortunately we will not be going back.

Great experience. Went with my girlfriend for brunch on a Saturday. First off, the staff was amazing. Our waitress (Megan) was the nicest waitress I've had in a long time with a really bright smile. The food was great and we'll portioned (not too much, not too little). The ambiance definitely gave a homely, southern feel. Definitely would go back.

This place is a breath of fresh air in Lincoln Park! Outstanding food - fried green tomatoes, shrimp & grits, risotto to name a few favorites. Whiskey and cocktails are fantastic and the service is the best! Our waitress Cassandra remembers us and our favorite drinks every time we’re in - she makes excellent suggestions too! Be sure to check out the whiskey room. Love everything about this place!

I'm from Oklahoma. People argue whether OK is considered "The South" or "The Midwest." What's not disputed is that OK is more southern than Chicago. Meaning the traditions, culture, and cuisine have more of a southern drawl. See what I did there? As far as food and aesthetic, this place hits the mark. The music, the pictures, the decor, the place settings, all really made you feel like you were in a formidable southern restaurant, not in a northern neighborhood of Chicago. There were even pictures of dogs fixated behind the whiskey filled bar - more on that later. The food was good. Albeit I didn't try everything, the burger and chicken sandwich my friend and I ordered was in fact, satisfying. Menu wasn't extensive, which is a good thing, so I'd venture to say I would try different items upon my return. We both ordered a cocktail, and those were both satisfying also. Little did we know those were going to be the first of more than a few cocktails we were going to have - more on that now. Each Thursday from 7-9pm, there's a whiskey room in the back, and the expert bartender showcases and serves several whiskeys, for free. Needless to say, we had our fill, and learned about some special whiskeys. This little feature came as a pleasant surprise, I recommend this for a nice date night or even for someone who is in from out of town. Very authentic experience, and really brings the whole southern theme they're going for to life. I feel almost like I'm giving away the game with this free whiskey tasting. Oh well. Paying it forward if you've gotten this far in my review. 4 stars; the free whiskey tasting takes it over the edge. Looking forward to bringing more friends here!

Had a fantastic brunch at Drawl! Fried tomato Benedict was amazing. Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. Can’t wait to go back and tick off the rest of the menu.

Amazing service, awesome drink selection and love the idea of having the bar tender create a random drink for you based on one thing you like. I called my drink, "The Godfather"...

Really good food, good and fast service, and a very nice atmosphere. I had the Chicken Andouille Gumbo soup to start and it was delicious. They have a whiskey room and a long list of options. The bar was packed by the time we were living. Definitely coming back.
