"This is the third Austin-area bakery shutter in a month. First, there was gluten-free Wells Branch bakery Dream in late August." - Nadia Chaudhury

"Wells Branch’s gluten-free Dream Bakery is closing this week. Its last day of service at 14735 Bratton Lane, Suite 210 is on Friday, August 26. The reason behind the shutter is a “combination of skyrocketing costs, supply issues, and labor shortages,” as the owner Karen Fry explains on Instagram, as well as the pandemic impact. “While we had hoped to make it through the holidays, we’ve had some recent setbacks, and the time has come now,” she writes. The impending closure was announced on August 19. Originally, Dream was opened by founder Azar Owlia in Anderson Mill in 2005. Fry took over in 2016, and expanded with the Wells Branch location in 2018 (taking over what had been Bribery Bakery). The Anderson Mill bakery closed in 2019. The bakery is known for its gluten-free cakes, croissants, and other baked goods. as well as low-carb, and keto options." - Nadia Chaudhury

"Dream Bakery Cafe, known for its custom cakes in Anderson Mill, expanded with a new bakeshop up in Wells Branch. It took over what was Bribery Bakery’s original location at 2013 Wells Branch Parkway, Suite 109. It opened in late March. The new bakery will serve up cakes, as well as pastries, like muffins, croissants, cinnamon rolls, tarts, scones, and cookies, along with savory lunch dishes like mac and cheese, soups, and vegetable wraps. Plus there will be ready-made whole cakes and cakes by slice. Then there’s coffee, tea, juices, and sodas. As for the space, Dream kept the cute look of the bakery, from the pink wallpaper to the pink pastry display case to light fixtures. Because of the new location, the Anderson Mill bakery will cut back and only focus on customized cakes, including ones that look like beer cans, burgers, or whiskey kegs." - Nadia Chaudhury

This was my first time requesting a custom cake ever and I had this idea of a cheeseburger shaped cake for my husband. This shop blew our minds with what they came up with! Not only did it look awesome, but it tasted amazing. I went with a non gluten free option this time since I just wanted a basic cake and it was strawberry butter cream with fondant. It was delicious, smooth, sweet, and I can’t wait to try more cake and pastries from this place in the future. Side note, I ate what looked like a toaster stroodle/pop tart thing when I went to pick up the cake and that was delicious too! It had strawberry filling. Thank you!

We had 2 cakes and they were both wonderful. Art work was top notch without that nasty fondue that is so tough. The cake was beautiful and very tasty. I'll post pics later. I also had a late and it was great. They have keto deserts which is amazing! Staff was friendly. Definitely will be back.

I am on an endless mission to find the best cookies. Luckily, I stumbled across Dream Bakery because they make a strong case to take home that title. Their cookies are wonderful! A slight crisp on the outside, chewy in the middle, but not so much that the cookie falls apart in your hand. Their chocolate chip cookies have a great balance where there is chocolate in every bite but not so overpowering that you lose the flavor of the cookie. (I ate the chocolate chip cookie before I could take a picture. Will power is not my forte) Mark me down as a fan! They have a wide selection of gluten-free and keto items available for sale. Also, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. If you are looking to indulge yourself, Dream Bakery should definitely be on your list.

I ordered two cakes from them- one for a gender reveal and one for a birthday- and 6 cupcakes! I sent in pictures and told them exactly how I wanted everything done. I go in to pick up the cakes and they look nothing like the pictures. They decided to change up the design I had asked for. They used icing instead of fondant like I had originally asked. And the cakes were just overall falling apart. I asked for the cupcakes to be vanilla as well, and they decided to make me 3 vanilla and 3 chocolate. These people do not listen to what you want- nor do they care. Their work is messy and not worth the price. Their cakes look like they could be bought at heb for less than $50. I paid $300. I definitely do not recommend this bakery for custom cakes. Attached are pictures for reference. What I asked for were the last 2 pictures- vs what I got.

I purchased this cake for my gender reveal party and it was AMAZING. The cake was so soft and sweet but not to sweet. My guest raved about the taste and just for that I will go nowhere else for my event baking needs. Thank you all so much for making my event a success!

Dream Bakery has nailed it yet again for my son's first birthday party cake! We have used them for our wedding, husband's 30th birthday, and now my son's first birthday. Their cake is sooo good and a big plus being gluten free and dairy free!

I have enjoyed all of the GF baked goods we've purchased. My birthday 🎂 last year to muffins and cookies. Just very much enjoyed eating everything. Good location, friendly staff, quaint atmosphere. I highly recommend you come by and check them out.
