London Chef Jackson Berg Is Opening a Restaurant in Margate | Eater London

"A seafront fairground in Margate described as a fashionable local attraction and photogenic backdrop that is positioning itself as a hub for the town’s burgeoning food scene by hosting chef-driven venues. The venue’s leadership has welcomed previous pop-ups and framed the partnership with incoming operators as a natural fit, highlighting the combination of creative, flavourful food with an exciting, sociable setting that appeals to summer visitors and the local community." - Adam Coghlan

Nice vibe for a weekend. We went in to get away from the rain and was pleasantly surprised. Loads of stuff to do for the kids. There is lots of funfair rides, a roller disco, an arcade and lots of places to eat.The arcade could be a little more well maintained. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

Rides are lovingly kept and the operators make it fun. Facilities are clean as is the park. Yes the tokens are expensive and it can rack up if you have more than one person on the rides, but it's an experience, it's nostalgia driven and it's wholly Margate. Love it.

Bustling with youngsters, the Dreamland park is a wondeful gateway to enjoy a wild day outside in summer. We visited for the very first time and had a wonderful time riding the roller coaster, pirate bay and water ride. There are attracting offers in terms of tokens. Brought back childhood memories in the rides. The scenic railway is temporarily closed now which is one of the oldest roller coaster rides in UK. Would recommend anyone to visit this place visiting Margate this summer. 😊

Really loved the afternoon there. £40 for 20 tokens, best buy. Every ride is 1 token. On some rides if the child requires an adult its still 1 token, which we thought was really good. I really do wish they would reopen the scenic railway though.

Visited for UB40 on the 12/7/25. Quick entry and through the security quickly. The venue was well equipped with food vans , bars, and ample toilet areas. Security were fantastic on dealing with a few who couldn't handle their beers and busy puffing out their chests rather than enjoying the show. UB40 was amazing as always.

Dreamland Margate is truly one of the oldest and most iconic amusement parks in the world! 🎡✨ The vintage charm mixed with modern fun makes it a must-visit for families and friends. Every time we come here, it’s full of excitement, great rides, and an amazing atmosphere. Don’t forget to watch our Sanjee with Randi content on YouTube, and follow our page on Instagram for more fun adventures! 📸🎥 Highly recommend visiting Dreamland if you want a mix of history, nostalgia, and entertainment all in one place. 🌊🎶

Came down to Margate for a Reggae Festival, the weather was glorious. Music, atmosphere, food & drink was Top Notch!! Definitely recommend this place. Came to see my pal Rompa’s Reggae Shack as he has a stage there.

Yelp
Do you have a young kid who is taller than 1.2 meter? This is the place for you! We went there as a small group and got wristbands for unlimited rides for the day - we arrived there at 11am and the place was pretty empty- so a brilliant time to try as many rides as possible with no queues!! We had a break at lunch - the sun was shining so we enjoyed ourselves in the courtyard in the middle where the stage and giant screen were. There were 3 food vendors- we tried 2 of them. For both of them the food was nice, fresh and tasty. 1 bar was open (no queues so no need to open another one at the same location, but the amenities are there for the high season), not a super wide range but everything was decent and prices were reasonable for a theme park / venue by the sea. After lunch, as the sun was shining there was more people, but still didn't have to queue for any of the rides. We went to the indoor arcade as well - there is also an indoor roller disco. Looking at the ceilings, it's not the best view- clearly it needs a bit of renovation. Within Dreamland , there are a few toilet facilities, all of them were clean. Good news - new water ride coming in July!

Yelp
This was my first ever visit to Margate and we managed to pick a rare rainy day during the hottest Summer on records ... if the sun had been out we probably would have given the fun park a miss, but it was pissing down with rain all afternoon, so we went in. I love the art deco exterior and the derelict nature of the indoor amusements. Excited to spot the signs for a Roller Disco - what a shame they stop selling tickets at 4pm as the whole thing closes at 4.30 (wondering if that's every Friday only the miserable days with just a few stragglers like us hiding from the rain). We actually never made it into the actual fun park that sits behind the old building. Unfortunately, you can't just go for a wander but instead need a ticket to enter the outdoor space. The cashier reeled off a long list of rides closed because of the weather, so no dodgems for us today. Overall a disappointment - but strangely one that made us happy, this is proper English seaside stuff, and you can see how it served as inspiration for Banksy's Dismaland. Would have loved to give the rollerskates a spin though - there's always next time!

Yelp
I had seriously the best time at Dreamland. I came with my family on Boxing Day. We went on the Ferris wheel, the roller coaster, and the bumper cars. The staff was really nice and super welcoming. The whole place was clean seemed well maintained. I was surprised by how much I liked it here. The only bad thing was the fried shrimp I got that tasted awful and like they'd gone bad. I want to come back when it's warmer.

Yelp
Dreamland is a cheap and cheerful take on the seaside amusement park. It has recently been resurrected with Lottery funds after closing after years of decay. The entrance is through a building located on the seafront containing an amusement arcade. The rides are pay as you go, with the roller coaster costing 5 tokens, the ferris wheel costing 4 tokens and the dodgems costing 3 tokens. It was quiet so they gave us a free second go on the dodgems. They have food on site too and there is also a bar. Dreamland is fun, worth checking out if you find yourself in Margate,

Yelp
As theme parks go this really is a tired old girl in need of some major overhauls, as is Margate in it's entirity really. OK it's cheap and cheerful and has most of what you'd expect but that spark that you get from Blackpool is just not here. Sad but true but worth a visit

Yelp
Dreamland is very fun and for all ages. I've never been to a trendy theme park before so was unsure what to expect- but I was so pleasantly surprised. Obviously best to go on a sunny day but plenty of interesting covered bits before you even get into the paid rides section. The shop has lots of funky souvenirs and bits from local independent companies (even unique tatty Devine necklaces) and there are old skool amusement arcade machines and penny pushers and those games where you collect tickets for winning and dreAm of getting the big prize but make enough for a penny chew and a key ring. Also roller disco. The actual them park has a good collection of rides to cater for the scaredys and braves. Including the original (rebuilt) wooden roller coaster and a pedalo style rollercoaster - you cycle yourself. Add to this the very different from the norm food options - including healthy smoothies, Thai food and churros when I went - even pro secco if you feel like it, accompanied by live entertainment. Recommend the short train ride from London to try it out.

Yelp
I love Dreamland! Yes there could be more rides that are aimed at people older than 6 but who really cares. It's a great thing to have in Margate and during the summer the whole town is buzzing. I loved the free shows that they offered last year at weekends. I know they are now charging on entry which is a bit crap but as I'm a member it doesn't matter to me.
