Canadian Roasting Society Opens the Dreamy Coffee Supermarket, Serving Southern Biscuits | Eater Montreal

"After a December beta with Montrealers, I learned Dreamy Coffee Supermarket is launching as a weekend-only venture inside the Canadian Roasting Society that pairs the city's largest retail selection of freshly roasted coffee with a café and a bakery doing Southern-style biscuits. The team plans to stock anywhere from 14 to 18 different roasters at a time, with head barista Vassily Lissouba curating a regularly refreshed lineup based on what people ask for, what they're excited about, and ways to get customers curious; everything sold is freshly roasted and unsold beans are redistributed to cafés and mailboxes on Monday. On the food side, the biscuits—developed through methodical A/B testing by baker Missy Hansen Murphy—are served with seasonal jams and a viscous sweet cream, and the team highlights how the biscuit's salt and fat amplify coffee flavors from fruity to roasted chocolate. For now service is to-go only, with plans to convert the front parking lot into a sizeable terrasse in summer." - JP Karwacki

Amazing selection of coffees. Had a great conversation with one of the staff members and we got to nerd out about coffee. He told me the coffee I got was a very special one. Looking forward to my next visit! My one wish is they had some vegan options for pastries.

Google
we love this place. roasters and also sells coffee from roasters all over the city. great selection of coffee and pastry. well curated cozy warehouse energy. we got the cream and jam plain scone and the croissant pinwheel pastries. the coffee is super flavourful and well roasted and made. come here on the weekend or weekday to work or as a destination on your hot girl walk.

Google
Cute coffee shop/ coffee roaster. They have a huge variety but the coffee is very pricey. I asked a few questions and the person at the cash was rude and told me all the prices varied and didn’t offer to help me find anything. I think some price tags on the bags could be helpful, as only the bags of 1 brand around 40$ + have prices listed. I ended up picking a 30$ 350g bag, a bit pricey but is very good coffee; worth the price but not necessarily my daily coffee budget. If you need a specialty coffee this is the spot. They have a nice seating area, great location next to the canal to take coffee roaster go for a walk.

This used to be one of my favourite coffee spots because the coffee is always great, but the service has really dropped off. The cashier won’t greet you unless you greet her first. She seemed a bit impatient when I asked about the desserts. She asked the customers ahead of me if they wanted their biscuits heated, but I had to ask for mine. Not rude—just very cold.

Google
Probably one of the best specialty coffee in Montreal , best selection of beans, brands, roasters and coffee parafernalia . The baristas know what they’re doing. They create exceptional drinks that stand out with most coffee places in town . Keep up that amazing work.. you’re place is really …dreamy!!!

Dreamy Cafe in Montreal is not just a coffee spot; it's a captivating journey into the heart of coffee craftsmanship. The concept of a coffee factory processing for various brands and local cafes is both innovative and fascinating. During my visit, the owner's warm welcome and a personal tour added a layer of authenticity to the experience. Exploring the intricate process of coffee production within the cafe was enlightening. The passion for quality coffee was palpable, and it reflected in every cup served. The diverse range of beans and blends showcased the dedication to both traditional and unique flavors. The ambiance, with the subtle hum of coffee machines and the rich aroma of freshly roasted beans, creates a delightful sensory experience. Dreamy Cafe stands out not only for its excellent coffee but also for the immersive journey it offers into the world of coffee production. A must-visit for coffee enthusiasts seeking a blend of education and exceptional hospitality.

Google
Food & drink were quite good, but we journeyed here with the intent to buy several bags of beans to try at home, unfortunately of the large selection that they have, almost none of them are priced and when I asked at the cash, they said they don't have a price list. Really soured the experience; we had one bag in hand and decided to buy it, but left without buying more as we had planned. There wasn't even any pricing visible for the food.

Dreamy is an absolute gem! Their coffee is fantastic, brewed with beans from various local roasters. The biscuits are a delightful treat too! The space is large and inviting, perfect for working solo or catching up with friends. Plus, it's car-friendly, making it super convenient. Dreamy is my go-to coffee spot!

Yelp
Like a lot of coffee options near the canal, this is a spot that does a good job catering to cyclists. Coffee was fine but unmemorable, which is the theme for most of the 6 Montréal coffee shops I tried (Crew Coffee, Osmo x Murasan, Dispatch, Noble Café, Aube Boulangerie, Dreamy) with the exception of White Heron which was striking. Likewise the pastries. So when all things are otherwise equal, you look at other aspects. The service was very pleasant and helpful. The staff bilingual. The interior space is divided from a much larger industrial space, so it feels like a coffee shop in a warehouse -- but they did enough to delineate the area. It would've been nice to see more outdoor seating or low-tops. Overall not a bad neighborhood coffee shop but I wouldn't rush to go out of the way to go here.

Yelp
An interesting Café that I discovered during my drive. It's an industrial café spot. So I entered inside, I was surprised, it's like 75% factory, 15% boutique and 10% coffeeshop. The service was good. I took a latte. It was good but way to strong for my taste. At the shop, there is no sitting area, so that was a bummer, but outside there are few picnic tables by the parking lot. Everything thing there is unusual but with unique concept.

Yelp
This spot right on the canal has just opened it's doors to the public and is selling some great coffee but also THE best buttery biscuit I have ever tasted! Served with a dollop of jam and cream, these little fluffy treats are addictive! Enjoy these and other baked goods with a nicely breed coffee by the water. Pick up a bag of coffee beans while you are at it too; they have a selection of Montreal's best coffee roasters to choose from. May I add that the super friendly service is surely reason enough to return.

Yelp
Really good coffee. Cool spot too! Inside a warehouse where there is plenty to buy, and obviously they must package & ship from here. Makes for a neat place to sip. Also right by the canal which is ideal.
