PSA for incoming young professionals WITHOUT prior full-time work experience, think twice before applying!!!
I'm set to start my job around one month after the move-in date I applied for at Drewery Place. I submitted an official, detailed offer letter, which is standard practice for verifying income when starting a new job and this is my first full-time position. My income listed on the offer letter more than satisfies Drewery Place's income requirements. Despite this, my application was rejected for not having current pay stubs. Obviously, you can't provide pay stubs for a job that hasn't started yet.
Nowhere on the website or application does it state that offer letters are not accepted. The external document uploaded that they use even have an option for uploading an offer letter, but Drewery Place will then tell you that's the uploader's issue, not theirs and they don't accept offer letters. You only find this out after applying and paying a non-refundable $150 application fee.
The leasing agent I spoke to was professional and tried to help, but the leasing manager, Nicole, was inflexible and repeatedly asked for current pay stubs (apparently, an offer letter = currently have pay stubs???), which I clearly explained multiple times I wouldn't have until after starting work. The response came off as dismissive and ignored basic context.
The building looks great, but the leasing process was disappointing to say the least. If you're a new grad or young professional starting your first full-time job, especially without a guarantor, I recommend looking elsewhere. You'll save yourself time, money, and a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth.
