18 Best Myrtle Beach Restaurants to Try | Eater Carolinas

"Drift, located within the Grande Dunes Marketplace on the north end of Myrtle Beach, gives off cool vibes in a cafe that offers classic and creative dishes for breakfast and brunch on the patio or swanky indoor dining room. Inventive egg Benedicts drift into quinoa poke and protein power bowls, scrambles, and more." - Ashley Daniels

7 Spots for a Fulfilling Breakfast in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"The ocean-inspired aesthetic is so robust that it’s almost whimsical at Drift — but it works. Situated across the street from the posh Marina at Grand Dunes, Drift’s menu is just as rich as the decor. There’s French toast topped with flame-roasted Fuji apples and lobster egg Benedicts. Customers can opt for the built-a-omelette and the Paloma mimosa is a must." - D.R.E. James

I have been wanting to come here for a few years and decided to finally do it! The inside is so beautiful. We arrived around 8 AM on a Saturday, and I wanted to come earlier because I know they get very busy. Our server was Dulcia, who was so nice! I ordered a Build Your Own omelet with cheddar cheese, bacon, spinach, and caramelized onions. My sister ordered french toast with turkey sausage. We waited about ten minutes for our food. When the french toast was brought out, I noticed that the sausage was not turkey, and tried it to confirm that it was pork. We let Dulcia know, and she immediately corrected the issue. The turkey sausage was so juicy, which can be tough to achieve with turkey, so we really enjoyed that! My omelet came with a side, so I chose the baby potatoes. The baby potatoes were okay- they were basically plain baby potatoes that I paired with ketchup. The omelet was absolutely delicious! The toast was great, and I got to put some jelly on it, which made it taste really nice. The prices were very reasonable for the atmosphere, portions, and quality of the food. I would definitely return to Drift.

Came here with my best friend and I absolutely loved it!! The environment is more upscale than a casual dining establishment and the menu was expansive! My friend got the steak and eggs and I got the chicken and waffles. Her steak was cooked to perfection and the chicken was nicely seasoned. I would definitely come back here. It’s perfect for a date a casual get together or even a work event!

Seated fast, Andrea gave excellent service. A little pricey but that's the economy we are in right now. Breakfast Burrito with Chipotle sauce excellent. Wife had French toast and Eggs. Delicious she says.

The staff and ownership are very friendly accommodating. I have had several meals at Drift and have not been disappointed! You can't go wrong with breakfast or lunch. Enjoy!

Google
Recommend everything we ordered, salmon bagel, egg Benedict (best I even have) and octopus starter. Outdoor seating is nice and they have the little thing to put on table to keep flies away. Very thoughtful. Will visit again when we are in town!

Google
Food was good from the breakfast menu. Didn’t blow me away but it was a good bite. The grits were delicious so I’ll have to try the shrimp and grits next time. They were in that empty bowl, lol. Small place super crowded.

Google
Loved the place, the vibe, food and the aesthetics. We went two times in a single weekend. I tried the protein bowl - it was fresh and well balanced. I had butter cake and it was also delicious. I couldn’t finish it since those two dishes together were too much for a lunch 🫣 On second visit I had Shrimp&grits - very flavourful, creamy and the sauce was excellent. It was served with garlic bread and although in the beginning i thought it excessive combination it was in reality very well balanced together. My partner had the burger - good meat and it was a beast. He was very happy with his choice. The terrace was beautiful, surrounded by greenery, french style tables and chairs. Great place to start your weekend morning.

Google
Jamie was our server today. Great food at reasonable prices. They had issues with the Internet/ credit cards and we had to wait but they graciously provided a supplementary cheesecake for that extra 30 min wait.

Yelp
I've heard that people liked this place so I tried it. We both enjoyed what we ordered. Food was not greasy or oily and tasted very good. I had the spinach scrambler and the vegetables were fresh. And what I also liked was that the food was NOT salty. I find that a lot of food in restaurants very salty these days but not here. Service was good. It is off peak season and restaurant was not busy. With Xmas around the corner the restaurant was decorated and it was enough to feel festive.

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise. We stayed across the road at the dunes for a weekend getaway. This place was fabulous bunch location. My wife had be here for and event for work. We started with bacon wrapped shrimp As an app. I had a pork belly blt. Which was amazing. Service was great. The decor in this restaurant is amazing. This is a great restaurant.

Yelp
Drift is a very nice restaurant close to Grand Strand Medical Center. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I've eaten here twice over the past few days. Service and atmosphere are both great, and the food is high quality and delicious. I highly recommend the French Toast and the Steak Sandwich. Price point is reasonable. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
This place was great! It had a cool, modern vibe and was just minutes from our hotel, which made it super convenient. I ordered the Duck Benedict with potatoes, and it did not disappoint. The duck was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, while the potatoes were perfectly crispy--just the way I like them. Overall, it was a fantastic meal.

Yelp
This was such a cute place! The food was good and our service was excellent. We had about a 35 min wait for our party of 7, which was not bad on New Years. They also accommodated my daughter's food allergies. There is parking right outside of the door. The location was in a plaza. Overall I would come back if I lived in the city.

Yelp
Food was excellent- one ham.benadict, French toast and a trio. Service was fast. Atmosphere was really nice given it's in a tourist beach town. Thumbs up!!
google avatar

Malcolm F.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday and had the shrimp and grits with a side of French toast. The grits were so flavorful and creamy. The restaurant was packed but we waited about 35mins to be seated. The staff were very professional, quick and considerate. The restaurant had a beach vibe and had a welcoming laid back energy to it. They have wonderful mocktails as well. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
We intentionally planned for a 7 hour layover in Myrtle Beach last Sunday to try a couple of restaurants that I had bookmarked. I had planned our day that as soon as we land at 1:05 PM, we will be heading over to Drift as they close at 3 PM. Drift was a brunch place that we were really excited and looking forward to try. Our server was Jeanine - a sweet filipina who provided us with the friendliest service that made me finally experience and understand what "southern hospitality" really meant. In SC, all the servers offer to refill your drink so you can take it to-go. Our food was amazing, generous portions yet reasonably priced. I could not decide at first whether to go with something sweet (Bananas Foster) or something savory. I ended up ordering the Grilled Octopus over grilled potatoes. The octopus was really tasty and very tender, I just devoured it really quickly. My husband enjoyed his Shrimp and Grits as well. We will definitely come back here as I have to try their Bananas Foster.

Yelp
My first time here while visiting. The food was amazing! I was in the mood for breakfast and mimosas. I had the French toast, eggs, and bacon. We also tried the poke appetizer and the octopus. My family enjoyed everything and we had no leftovers! The service was great. We sat outside to enjoy the fresh air. The server and the manager came out to check on us several times. The interior is super cute. There's a selfie mirror and other cute lighted signs throughout the restaurant. They also have Drift merch. There's a bar inside which looked great for gathering with friends after work or on the weekend. I will definitely come back here when I'm in town.

Yelp
Drift is a popular brunch restaurant in Myrtle Beach. They are located in the Grand Dunes Marketplace off of Highway 17, and open from 7 AM - 3 PM. My family and I stopped in a Sunday afternoon. There was a slight wait, but our table was ready ahead of time. The Duck Benedict caught my eye immediately. The dish consists of duck confit, sautéed spinach, caramelized onions, two poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce served on a toasted croissant. Amazing! Best Benedict I've ever had. Service was good throughout our entire visit. The hosts were welcoming and our server Janine was fabulous. Parmesan Truffle Fries - 8.2 Duck Benedict - 8.3 Food - 8.3 Service - 8.4 Value - 8.2 Restaurant score -83

Yelp
Had this place on my weekend itinerary and it did not disappoint! We were so happy to find this place!! Good and service was outstanding! We tried a variety of items from chicken and waffles, steak and eggs and avocado toast. Love the aesthetic with the greenery and neon signs for photo ops as well!

Yelp
A friend and I stopped in soon after arriving in Myrtle Beach at around 9 AM on Friday. We were immediately seated as there was no wait. Our server immediately came to our table and took our drink order which arrived quickly after which she took our food order. She was very friendly and made conversation with us. My friend and I both got different omelettes. I ordered an omelette with mushroom spinach feta and I added ham. I also got a side of fruit as my side. It also came with a side of toast. This omelette was delicious and so was the toast my friend also enjoyed her meal. Our coffees were also very good. Many times at diners, the coffee isn't very good, but it was here. I loved the decor inside of the restaurant. It was almost tropical looking. There's an outdoor patio but the weather was cold, so there was no one out there. I would highly recommend having breakfast here because the breakfast was so good, as well as probably any other meal. The restaurant was clean, And the staff was friendly, in addition to the food being being very good.

Yelp
Overall, a good experience. Decor is very nice and there are lots of selfie spots for those who like that. Server was efficient and friendly. I ordered the Fuji apple waffle with caramel and pecans. It had deliciously done fresh whipped cream and sautéed apple done well among with pecans and caramel. The waffle could've used another 30 seconds in the iron to add crisp and color. It had an ever so slight raw taste but was cooked. Just needed some love. The apple wasn't too sweet but the caramel sweetness made it hard to finish the dish. If the caramel could be toned down a bit it would be better. My friend got the duck Benedict and she enjoyed it; she did state it was a bit heavy. One of the eggs was over poached and the croissant was a bit hard to find. The breakfast potatoes were buttery and delicious with a crisp on the skin and a divine taste and texture. Coffee was kept full and overall, a good experience.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Service was even better! Karyn P was very attentive & ensured a great experience on Valentines Day!

Yelp
Had my daughter's Bridal Shower here! Fabulous The food was great Great presentation Staff was amazing

Yelp
This was delicious! I ordered because I haven't had a BLT in years. It has plenty bacon and avocado. As ordered, it comes on panini toast, but I requested a croissant instead. The potatoes were delicious as well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waitress mentioned that the portion may be (or seem) smaller than ordered with panini toast. I was satisfied with the portion. It was just enough. The service was great! My friends were happy with their selections with included the shrimp and grits, fried fish sandwich, and duck benedict. The establishment doesn't waitlist or do reservations so prepare in advance.

Yelp
Food was incredible. Atmosphere was a 10 as well and the service was on point I highly recommend. One big plus is that don't charge you to use a credit card and try to scam an extra 4% from you.
google avatar

Cady P.

Yelp
We went for breakfast and loved the atmosphere, our waitress, the food, and the drinks. I started with black coffee and a Hugo spritz. Both came quick and were perfect. I got the Avocado BLT add runny egg- it was VERY good. I upgraded the fries to truffle and they were amazing - the aroma filled the table. Husband got French toast, bacon and scrambled eggs, they looked great & he enjoyed it. I'd imagine on a cooler morning the patio would be PERFECT. If I lived here, this would definitely be a girls brunch spot, or breakfast on the patio with my pup.
google avatar

Yelp
Your food and service is great but do I really need to listen to rap music at 8 AM? It happen so often when I come in for breakfast waiting on my husband having infusions at the cancer center

Dennis B.

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere to match an excellent breakfast. I ordered ham & poached egg Benedict with small golden potatoes. Delicious! My wife ordered croissant bacon and egg sandwich. She loved it. Our first time here and not our last!

Yelp
If you're staying in Myrtle Beach you should travel an extra 10 minutes to this absolutely lovely place called Drift. We've been enjoying many local restaurants and they always tend to have the best food and service. Drift did not disappoint! Allison was our server and she greeted us warmly and quickly took our coffee order and brought us water. They have a full coffee bar, but if you just want a great cup of coffee you will appreciate the large mug that is served. I had a caramel macchiato and hubby had a double espresso. The menu has many options. The chorizo hash is what drew hubby to choose Drift, so he had the chorizo benedict. It was delicious and had just the right kick of spice. I ordered the spinach scramble which was excellent. It also had mushrooms, caramelized onions, peppers, mozzarella cheese and was served with your choice of potatoes or grits; I chose grits. These are not Cracker Barrel tasteless grits...these are delicious, creamy grits! Everything was amazing and I felt bad leaving half of my food behind. Hubby helped but the portions are generous! Other reviews mention the cute decor and the neon pink affirmation in the ladies room is a testament to this. We will be stopping by on our way out of MB later this week to try some of the other menu options.

Yelp
This breakfast/brunch place is fantastic ! From the ambiance, service and food! The egg Benedict were fantastic. The mimosas and coffee drinks out of this world.
google avatar

Brooke W.

Yelp
Absolutely worth a visit! Tips: - it's cold inside so dress warm and bring a jacket (in February). You might even be warmer outside because there are heat lamps - the lighting here is lovely for eating but not for photos so the food is gonna look twice as good in person! I was very impressed - it gets crowded on weekends so make a reservation if you can - I VERY MUCH recommend the Salmon Power Protein Bowl! So flavorful and filling and salmon was cooked PERFECTLY! I was worried it would be boring and I was wrong - service was great! Shoutout to my server (a young, sweet, black haired girl with perfect skin)
google avatar

Adrianna S.

Yelp
Food was great. The coffee drinks are always top tier and delicious. The holiday themed drinks were cute! The service was fast and the staff is always super nice. The restaurant continues to impress for brunch and I've been there multiple times. I keep coming back for more.

Yelp
We were in town visiting family and this restaurant was recommend to us. It was such a great breakfast spot! There was minimal wait for 3 at brunch time and the vibe is so beachy and fun. I ordered the Sunrise Spinach Scrambler (Scrambled eggs over sauteed spinach, wild mushroom blend, caramelized onions, roasted red bell peppers and spicy pepper jack cheese). I loved the mushrooms and the potatoes were so crispy and delicious. I also ordered their special Barbie mimosa which was served with edible glitter! It was such a fun and festive drink. My husband ordered the shrimp omelette that was served with a spicy hollandaise sauce. It was also very good and came with those super delicious potatoes. Everyone absolutely loved everything we ordered and there was so much food left over that we ate the rest for lunch later. If we find ourselves in the Myrtle Beach area again, we will certainly return.

Cynthia P.

Yelp
This restaurant is a must visit. The atmosphere is cozy, clean and friendly. They also have outside dinning. The food was delicious and the prices are not bad at all. They have a really good breakfast and lunch menu. Service was awesome. It wasn't a wait and we got there around 12pm on a Sunday. Our server Keiverg was so nice and attentive. He also gave great recommendations being it was our first time there. I 100% recommend . I will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Upscale brunch!!! I absolutely love the atmosphere and setting! Indoor or outdoor seating. Feels tropical ! The drinks are amazing and well priced. Such a great selection with great taste!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful patio brunch on our Myrtle Beach vacation . Dark and stormy cocktail, grilled octopus, caprese burrata salad were my choices, while husband had a classic breakfast. The octopus was charred to perfection, with a tomato confit. The caprese burrata was wonderful with clearly fresh cheese, all melty and soft inside and firm on the outside. The cocktail was rich and strong just as it should be. This is a gorgeous restaurant with a very luxurious patio. I loved the neon sign that said I was exactly where I needed to be. And the fantastic Driftwood sculpture in the lobby made my day !
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
This is a quaint breakfast and lunch spot that seems to always be busy. They have an adorable bar in the opening waiting area and the restaurant features seating both indoor and outdoor. Had a great eggs Benedict Florentine here with potatoes - definitely enjoyed this dish
google avatar

Jacob J.

Yelp
Nice, inviting breakfast / brunch / lunch spot. Enjoyed the Lobster and Bacon Omelette immensely. It exceeded expectations. A terrific blend of taste that proved very satisfying to the palette. Server was very professional, very helpful and very knowledgeable.
google avatar

Stephanie F.

Yelp
We got the hash Benedict and the filet Benedict. Both were the best we've ever had. Coffee was great too. Our waiter was very attentive and the patio is beautiful. Can't wait to come back. Ate too quick to take pics.
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
Just an update, this place is still a great place to eat! The service staff were wonderful, made the experience even better. Had the steak tip Benedict today, delicious! If you haven't tried it out yet, definitely worth the stop.
google avatar

Yelp
Blueberry's Grill has competition. Fabulous selection of classic and updated Eggs Benedict's, waffles, omelets, amazing stone-ground grits and more. We hesitated ordering the Duck Confit Benedict, so glad we took the plunge. It was outstanding. They have a cute covered patio seating beside a landscaped area we used both times. The staff is efficient, attentive and friendly. The food was brought quickly and both times the server brought an extra warm plate since we were sharing without being asked. Looking forward to trying them again.
google avatar

Lori S.

Yelp
Everything from amazing service, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food. We shared the banana's foster French toast and it's on a level of deliciousness all by itself. Cheeseburger 10/10 Pesto chicken sandwich 10/10 Huavas rancheros 9/10 My daughter loved their roasted potato side as well.
google avatar

Maurice M.

Yelp
Beautiful interior and outdoor dining areas. The service was really good and the food was delivered relatively quickly. My better half got the standard eggs/bacon/toast with a fruit cup and it was cooked well perfectly. I ordered a scrambler and loved it. If you're a fan of grits, Drift knows how to cook 'em (not everyone down here does). Highly recommended for breakfast or brunch.
google avatar

Fula O.

Yelp
Love the space it has an airy light filled beach vibe to eat. Good service. I was torn between which Benedict to order and went with the pork belly with grits. I would have liked my grits to be a tas bit creamier but all in all a good meal
google avatar

Linda C.

Yelp
I ordered the lobster bacon omelette. Excellent! Great wheat bread and coffee! The atmosphere is very relaxed! Cute furnishings. Service was great!
google avatar

Miia A.

Yelp
Great food. Really cute restaurant overall. It felt like being in a breakfast nook. The service was nice. They definitely work as a team.

Yelp
Wow! One of the best brunches I've had in a long time. From the vibe, the decor, and the service, and food.... So much yes. Absolutely 5 out of 5 stars. So plan on having to wait if you want to go on a Sunday (tip join the yelp waitlist ahead of fine). If you arrive early grab a drink while you wait, we chose mimosas. After we sat down Andrea took such great care of us. We ordered another round, I got this delish Bloody Mary with mezcal and pickle juice. But the star was my food. I got the lobster and bacon omelet. Holy bananas do not miss this. Thanks for the hospitality! If I'm ever back in the area, you will see me there again.
google avatar

Natalie M.

Yelp
Great food, service and drinks! Food and drinks came out fast. Outdoor area was beautiful.
google avatar

Tia W.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed our brunch here! I love being able to join the guest list prior to arrival and once we arrived our table didn't take long. The ambiance is very chic and insta worthy if you like that kind of thing. There are lots of plants, fake and real throughout the establishment, and interesting light fixtures. We enjoyed our food-- I ordered the shrimp and grits with piña colada mimosa and my husband ordered what he's calling loaded scrambled eggs and mimosa. My husband said his food was average-- however, my shrimp and grits was very good. My only complaint if I had to have one was that I wasn't able to swap the sausage for more shrimp, I could only exclude the sausage. This was fine, but I would have been willing to pay if that's what the issue was. Overall it was a nice experience and I do recommend!
google avatar

Taniscia D.

Yelp
The service was awesome , thank you Janine!! The ambience is what most restaurants are going for, natural, lighted signage with quirky quotes and foliage. The food was ok. I asked for my eggs scrambled hard and got medium scrambled. The turkey bacon reminded me of Butterball turkey bacon, tough and unnatural looking. The stone grits had a vinegary taste even when soaked with butter and additional salt, hey, I'm a true southern "gurl". My hubby enjoyed his shrimps and grits and said they were good. So this was deserving, seeing he's hard to please. My daughter enjoyed her chocolate chip French toast but her eggs were ordered hard also, and came out medium with the same turkey bacon (lord, knows they need to try Sam's turkey bacon). If it wasn't for the eggs and the bacon, I'd add another star.

Yelp
Best Brunch this side of the Pecos. Better coffee than any Starbucks. I enjoy breakfast here both because of the outstanding food and impeccable service. Guaranteed to start your day with a smile.

Yelp
Great food! Had the lobster omelette.. wow!! Sat at the bar and service was great! Didn't have a Bloody Mary which looked amazing, so I guess I have to come back!

Yelp
From food to service everything was perfect! The place was so cute and we didn't have to wait to be seated :)

Yelp
Great experience at Drift! This was my last stop on my trip to North Myrtle for brunch on the way home. This came highly recommended from a friend/fellow Yelp elite and it didn't disappoint. I love fancy brunch. But fancy brunch that's still hearty and delicious? And throw in some fancy coffees and beverages? You've hit the jackpot. Drift incorporates all these elements and more! The patio is a standout, providing lots of shade and plenty of air circulation without compromising the ambiance. I really loved the greenery walls, plants and neon signs around the patio and interior. It really gives it a modern feel, and obviously instagram-worthy backdrops (which I took full advantage of.) Our server was super kind and attentive throughout the visit, no complaints about the service! It was fast, but not rushed. Their menu is pretty fun and expansive. I was intrigued by the sea salt caramel cold brew. It was pretty classic to a true cold brew, strong and not super sweet. Nice presentation and a solid serving size. Also worth noting, they do have a "healthier" section of their menu, although I did not order from it lol. My friend got the salmon avocado toast, and it had a solid portion of smoked salmon on it, and again excellent presentation. She added a poached egg, and really loved this dish. We both got the home fries as a side, which were great. Perfectly crispy on the outside! I got the duck eggs Benedict and y'all. Wow wow wow. This is one of the best Benedict's I've ever had, and eggs Benny is one of my favorite dishes to order. The duck was melt in your mouth tender with so much flavor. I loved that it was served on a griddled croissant, a nice little flair on a classic dish. I loved the addition of sautéed spinach, but my one and only complaint about this dish is that I wish they would've drained the spinach a bit, as the moisture kind of soaked into the bread. With that being said, still one of the best Benny's I've had. The hollandaise was delightful, just as it should be, and the eggs were perfectly poached. An amazing dish for sure! Because two entrees wasn't enough, we had to order the bananas foster French toast to share for "dessert" and wow. It really had that creamy spiced rum flavor, classic in bananas foster. We ended up taking almost of this to go because of the size of the other dishes, but it was the perfect sweet bite at the end of the meal. Not a tourist trap - this food is delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Dope from beginning to ending ... I started off with the charbroiled octopus that was cooked to perfection ... added a dab of salt for personal satisfaction but wasn't needed .... For my entree I had the Duck Benedict and this is currently one of my favorite dishes .... The duck as cooked to perfection ... not gamey and not fatty ... and with the yolk of the egg mixed in ... it was PERFECT... my wife built her own omelet that she also enjoyed ... last but not least the server RJ ... I appreciate you my guy ... you the experience even better .. we will be bacc .. Oh yeah I forgot the roasted potatoes .... Please order them

Melanie S.

Yelp
We have been coming here for a year now. Food was always really good but the past few times we've been here the food hasn't been the same. I know the menu has changed (not for the better in my opinion) but it hasn't changed enough for the food to be coming out completely different. Past few experiences have turned me off to be honest... I hope they get back on track.
