Drift was an absolute experience from start to finish. The decoration alone took my breath away—beautifully designed, elegant, and perfectly curated to set the tone for the night. Every detail felt intentional and immersive. The music was just as amazing, perfectly matching the vibe and elevating the entire atmosphere without ever overpowering it. The food was absolutely incredible—full of flavor, beautifully presented, and worth every bite. Each dish felt thoughtfully crafted and truly memorable. But what made the night unforgettable was our server, Jesus. He was bright, full of energy, and brought such a genuine warmth to the experience. He kept the night flowing effortlessly and truly showed us what exceptional service looks like. Beyond just great service, he gave my friends and me a night—and a story—we’ll be going home talking about. His positivity and attentiveness made us feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. Thank you to everyone at Drift for the hard work that goes into creating such an amazing space and experience. I’ve found your next date night or girls’ night spot — Drift is the place to be! With their one-year anniversary coming up, this gem is truly worth checking out. The aesthetic? Gorgeous. The vibe? Immaculate. And the food? Unreal. Hands down the best rigatoni I’ve ever had! The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and everything from start to finish was perfection. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Honestly, this restaurant is middle tier at based. We decided to dine here since its part was part of the Chase Reserve dining program which covered $150 of the bill. Overall, the service and the food was just okay. We dined the day after Christmas and its was pretty empty yet the service was on the slower side. The food tasted just okay as well, no wow factor.

Such a good spot to eat! Came here for a work outing and we all had such a great time. Food was amazing and the drinks were good too, thanks for the beer on the house! Haha The burger was great and my friends enjoyed their pastas dishes, one of the girls was gluten free and they were very accommodating with the menu. Parking was a little bit of challenge but easy once we knew where to go. Will be back for sure in the future!

I dined here last night and had such a memorable experience. The tuna tartare was absolutely incredible — fresh, beautifully balanced, and the perfect way to start the evening. I ordered the prime rib special with spinach and fries, and the flavor was outstanding. The meat was cooked perfectly and quite literally melted in my mouth — truly like butter. Service throughout the night was attentive and seamless, and the wine list is excellent, with thoughtful selections that really elevate the meal. I was also pleasantly surprised by the bourbon with matcha cocktail — unexpected, but incredibly well done and memorable. While everything was delicious, I did find the prime rib special to be on the higher side price-wise (around $180 for ~20oz), though the quality was undeniable. That said, the decor, ambiance, and stunning city views more than made up for it and truly set the tone for an exceptional evening. Overall, a beautiful dining experience with standout food, great service, and an atmosphere that makes it feel special. Would absolutely return for another night out.

Perfect for a night out for drinks and a vibe: the inside is nice but the outside patio is stunning. If it’s a nice day making a reservation is recommended as they are generally busy. Took my wife here for drinks and we had a good time. The bartender who was working was a female and she was nice and ontop of service.

Came for brunch…and OMG!! Everything was amazing! The whipped ricotta is a must try and so is the tres leche French toast. Our server Derby made our experience top notch! He was so knowledgeable and accommodating for our large party. Can’t recommend this place enough!

10/10 this place was so surprisingly good! It’s rare to find high-end restaurants that continue to provide top notch service and food, I’m definitely coming back here for more!

First I'd like to start off by saying what can amazing view! You have an amazing view from both inside and outside of the NYC Skyline! We were able to sit outside and take in the city lights and sounds while enjoying our delicious dinner! The inside of the restaurant was also very beautiful and breathtaking, I would highly recommend for any dinner parties or celebrations dinners! The food and drinks were very flavorful and fresh with vibrant colors and hearty portions! We also tried an alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink. They were both very tasty and the one with alcohol definitely had alcohol in it, If you know what I mean! But overall the experience was very nice the service was very accommodating and allowed us to move seats to get a better view and answered all of our questions all throughout the night! Definitely hope to go back again soon!

After a 6 mile walk this was the perfect spot to grab brunch. The omelet was incredible . I didn't realize it came with a salad. The salad was perfect. The dressing was light and refreshing . What is not pictured (because we ate it too fast) is the Brussels sprouts which makes the list of top 5 best Brussels I've ever had. Also the chicken apple sausage which is made in house. It has a little unexpected kick to it that I like...not spicy but seasoned veryyyy well! The deserts ...you can't go wrong. I would say the bread pudding is a little on the dry side which I wasn't expecting . I usually like a softer center but the flavor is delicious and the caramel it comes with is nice . I recommend cutting it open and pouring the caramel inside as opposed to on top. We had a new waitress. We were her first table and minus a mishap with bill, she was very pleasant. You can tell the staff is close knit and supportive . We sat at the center at the tables that spin which was a nice touch. Great place ! I look forward to trying dinner

Drift is a very promising new spot with great interiors and polite servers. We ended up sitting at the revolving booths, which was a unique experience as we caught glances of the entire restaurant and the waterfront, which kept our dining experience exciting. However, we kept count and 3+ passerby's almost tripped by us because of the arrangement - something needs to be done about this. Here's what we ordered: - Spicy Vodka Rigatoni (4/5) - well portioned, excellent cook on the pasta, luscious sauce and a generous drizzle of parm. Almost perfect, just not "spicy". - Paccheri Pasta (5/5) - perfection! The milk braised pork was tender, the cook on the pasta exquisitely al dente, the sauce was creamy, the balsamic drizzle complemented the dish so very well, and the garnish of the shallot crunch was a master stroke. Again, well portioned. - Apple Bread Pudding (4.5/5) - every mouthful was very cozy and comfortable. Almost a 5/5, but the bread pudding could've been served warmer. Others on the table ordered, which I tasted: - Margherita Flatbread (3/5) - could have been better. Maybe the other flatbread options had more to give. This was not the best representation. Meh. - Arancini (3/5) - not bad, but not very crispy on the outside and not much depth to it. I can see myself go back for the pasta dishes and to try more recommendations from our server who had a great grasp of the menu.

I just wanted to update my previous review, because this time I went back to celebrate my birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect! I had already been here for brunch before and thought it would be a great idea to celebrate my birthday, and it truly was the best choice I could have made. Manager Nico was incredibly attentive, and David and Ivan prepared everything with so much care and attention. The hospitality was beyond anything I expected!!! my friends were all impressed by the quality, the warm service, the beautiful view, and simply everything about the evening. It was honestly the perfect birthday celebration with my friends. If I already loved this place before, now I'm even more impressed and grateful for the wonderful experience. Everything was just perfect!

Came here on a Wednesday night with 5 friends. The place itself is beautiful and the view is amazing. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was very subpar. They served us the worst tomahawk steak we have all ever tried. The rolls at my local sushi place are better than what they served here. The octopus appetizer is the only thing I would order again. The drinks were also enjoyed by all. I can't believe a place that looks so amazing yet can't serve a decent entree.

Drift was such a nice vibe!!! The service was ok the girl was new and she seemed to keep forgetting a couple things. She would bring one of our drinks and forget to put in the other persons drink and there were only two of us lol. Other than that the food was good my steak was delicious! The drinks were good as well. The Brussels were the star of the show!!! Sooo delicious! The ambience was very date night friendly. The place is also pretty big. I would go back!

Drift has a great location with a magnificent view of Manhattan. We took advantage of the beautiful day and sat outside for a late lunch. Food was ok overall, not over the top. Service was lacking. Not sure if they are under- staffed but it was not busy at all. The interior is modern/sleek and was completely unoccupied at 4:30 on a Friday. We had the lunch special: Squash soup Flatbread Margherita Blood orange sorbet Plus a sushi roll Come here for ambiance, drinks and a few pickings.

American @ Weekhawken, NJ We had mother's day brunch around 1:30pm. For appetizers we ordered ceasars salad and potato croquettes and they were very tasty. But it took more that 1.5hours for our entrees to come out. The roasted chicken were moist and paired nicely with polenta and wild mushroom s. Rigatoni in spicy vodka sauce was little under seasoned and needed more grated cheese which wasn't offered. After I complained about a long wait for our entrée, the waiter and the manager offered drinks on the house which was a nice gesture. The restaurant is very huge with a nice modern atmosphere but they need to have more kitchen staff for the food to come out faster.

It was good. I was part of a group of 4 and this is how it went. We went on a Saturday night for a late dinner and the restaurant was very quiet inside but there were a good amount of people outside so we decided to dine al fresco. We ordered a lot so here is what we got: High tariffs drink. The name was quite cheeky and it was excellently crafted. I wish I got another instead of the next drink Lock and key; it was quiteee sweet Tuna tartare was nicely presented but it was ice cold.. did they make it ahead of time??? (it also came out really fast) Tuna rice cakes were good but I wish there was a tad more tuna on it. The rice cakes were veryyyyy good though Miyazaki roll was great! I'd get that again for sure Happy ending roll was the first time I've had a shrimp tempura roll without my stomach feeling weighed down after. Chopped salad was decently balanced, I wish there was some goat cheese or something salty in there. We got the special which was I believe was a porterhouse with bone marrow torched on top, it was made well but the ingredients were not flavorful.. Black Sea bass was greattt but looking at the menu again I don't recall it coming with bok choy.. maybe we got another special Mashed potatoes were not memorable unfortunately Brussel sprouts were great, nicely charred Banana soufflé was not memorable unfortunately The service was great and everyone was very professional and hospitable!

I recently visited Drift in Weehawken, a newly opened neighborhood spot, with my date for a casual yet indulgent night out. We opted for a mix of appetizers, cocktails, and an entrée, and while there were some standout dishes, a few fell short. First off, the atmosphere is striking. From the outside, the space appears unassuming, but once inside, it opens up into a moody, dark, and stylish dining area. There are private rooms available for celebrations, which were already booked during our visit. Though we had an 8 PM reservation, we decided to sit at the bar instead, where the staff was kind and attentive. Cocktails- My date, a bit of an old-fashioned connoisseur, was pleasantly surprised by how well-crafted his drink was. I had a lychee martini, which was absolutely delicious--smooth, balanced, and refreshing. The perfect girlie drink. Appetizers Pork Belly Baos ($24) - These were fantastic! Easily one of the best appetizers of the night. Charred Spanish Octopus ($27) - Another hit! The octopus was cooked perfectly, with butter beans and chorizo jam adding great texture and flavor. The beans were served warm, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, we didn't snap a photo, but it was a memorable dish and a must have for sure. Jumbo Lump Crab "Louie" ($34) - This dish came highly recommended by the bartender, who amusingly admitted she doesn't even eat seafood but insisted customers rave about it. Sadly, we were not among them. After one bite each, we pushed that plate to the side. The flavors didn't mesh well, leaving us wondering why it's on the menu? Entrée Miso Glazed Black Bass ($46) - A winner. The bass was beautifully cooked, flaky, and flavorful, with the miso glaze adding the right amount of sweetness and crisp to the skin. The baby bok choy rounded out the dish nicely. Definitely worth ordering. Side White Stone Polenta ($13) - A major disappointment. It's the consistency of wet cement and lacked of flavor, despite the presence of butter and herbs. It left us wishing we had chosen something else. Final Thoughts Drift has a lot of potential, with some truly excellent dishes and a great atmosphere. While a couple of items missed the mark, I'd definitely return to explore more of their menu in the summer. The cocktails, ambiance, and standout plates (the baos, octopus, and black bass) make it worth a visit. Would I come back? Yes--but I'll be skipping the polenta and the crab next time.

Came here for dinner last night and decided to sit outside and was super excited to try this spot since I pass by it everyday. Service was kinda slow but we understood since it was a busy Saturday night. The food was good - we ordered the clams, happy ending roll, and the heritage chicken. However, we did see a baby mouse running around under our table which was a huge turnoff - I will not be returning.

My first dinner with Drift was a positive experience. The atmosphere is beautiful with modern decor and spacious seating. You definitely get a cozy feel upon arriving. Lots of booth and intimate seating for the perfect night out. Drift has a lot of menu options and specials. My guest and I shared the grilled octopus appetizer. Great flavor and tender. I would have loved an additional serving on the plate since it was a shareable bite. When dining, we decided to share the miso glaze Black Sea bass and crab gnocchi. We were so pleased with both choices. Both entrees were delicious and packed with flavor. The gnocchi were small and soft like pillows (not too heavy). The lemon sauce with crab really made it a stand out dish. We ended our meal with the bread pudding and an after midnight espresso martini. This had a vanilla raspberry flavor. It was like eating a Ghirardelli chocolate. Although more on the high end price range, the service and quality of food made my visit quite enjoyable. I will definitely visit again to try more from the menu. Side note- Valet is available for $15 and there is a parking garage for $10. The parking garage is a short walk to the restaurant.

Good weather, fun company and amazing ambience made it an enjoyable diinner at Drift with friends. Loved how dim lite the interiors were, it felt so warm and cozy inside. The service was pretty quick surprisingly. Seated next to city views, we had a great time here. The appetizers were better and more flavourful than the mains. Loved the ricotta cheese and flatbread. sushi was good too not too forget the mushy and warm croquettes. The sea bass portion size was too small and chicken felt that it could have had some more seasoning to bring some flavour in. The only disappointment was the chocolate creme brulee, nothing great about it. Rest the food was good, the service was fast and the atmosphere was just right for the night!

I still cannot believe this was a real deal. I went to Drift on a Tuesday and took advantage of their $39 special, which included a 10 oz steak, a martini, and fries. Everything was phenomenal. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right. We also had the pear bread pudding, which I cannot recommend enough. It was warm, comforting, and the perfect way to end the meal. The ambiance was stylish but welcoming, and the service was top notch. I also want to give a shoutout to Anthony, who made the experience even better with his attentive and friendly service. For the quality of food and the overall experience, this felt like an absolute steal. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend checking it out if you are anywhere near the area.

We chose Drift randomly, as a convenient place to meet friends. The restaurant is lovely with large windows facing the Manhattan skyline. Service was welcoming and very friendly and the food was wonderful. We all chose the 3 course menu with various flatbreads, salads and soups. Everything was very good. We would highly recommend Drift!

I really like Drift! I think the place is absolutely beautiful. I do feel the food, however can use some improvement. My last couple times there have been subpar. I ordered a beet salad last time I was there and although it was very good, it was too small. The salad was $22 and there was nothing on the plate. My husband's side salad had more substance. Maybe combine the two to make a more fruitful offering. My husband had a hamburger and fries. We went home and were both starving. I had to make a pasta meal. I could have eaten more at Drift, but the dishes should offer more substance. The place could be unbelievable with a little more robust offerings. It is newer so I will go back as I know they will continually improve with time.

I finally came to eat at this establishment and I was blown away by the food. It was amazingly delicious! We sat at the bar and ordered 4 apps. Shrimp bao buns, ricotta, tuna tartare, octopus. Each app only got better and better! So fresh and delicious. The ricotta I could have eaten all by myself. The service at the bar, which wasn't busy was okay. However, I don't expect top notch service at the bar. So no judgement there. The overall experience is perfect for a romantic date, or elevated girls dinner sitting at the bar.

Two dinners at Drift recently; we liked the convenience to where we were staying and the space and food enough to return just a couple days after our first visit. Roomy sophisticated space, good amount of spread out seating, both inside and out. attractive bars both in and out as well. They were switching from winter to spring menu, so while they were out of the pork belly bao, we got to try the, not on the menu yet, tempura shrimp boa, and really liked it. Three buns, so perfect for a party of three to share. Great local draft beer selection. Caesar was great, fresh, topped with one "boquerones" (ie anchovy), would certainly ask for more next time. I was attracted to the SRF prime outside skirt steak as we're regular SRF (Snake River Farms) customers and love their steaks. Disappointingly, it was very chewy, much more like an inside skirt. Side of potato jinga (small pile of neatly stacked steak fries), was nicely crunchy and tasty. Just a few with the steak, more generous as an ordered side dish. Tried a couple sushi rolls. Well made and fresh. One was topped with a bit of meyer lemon, giving it an unusual flavor. Don't recall the name of either, but did leave the impression that their sushi is a good appetizer or light meal. Tried an unusual request - could I get the margherita flatbread with spicy pepperoni they featured on another flatbread added. The chef clearly dislikes substitutions, as they came back with ok, but at a silly markup. So, if you don't want to piss off the chef who's making your meal, avoid substitutions. Although, so be fair, the traditional marguerita as per the menu, without any adds or changes, was still a quite nice dinner with a salad. Staff training clearly going on both visits; one visit the wait person admitted it was their first day. Service was still good; though with both visits quiet and not busy, there were still long waits between starters and main. I expect we'll be regulars, as we're often in the neighborhood, and would not be at all surprised to update Drift to a 5 star dinner after exploring the menu further.

Knowing that it had been high on my list, my boyfriend surprised me with a Valentine's Day dinner at Drift. Our Uber pulled up to the valet parking area, letting us out in style. We entered the stunning space and approached the host stand. Just beyond that was a small entrance way where an incredible jazz band was playing romantic tunes. There was also a dining room with tables and large booths, as well as an elevated, 360-degree rotating center platform with several other tables. It was a cool way to allow the four or five booths on the stage to change views throughout the evening - sometimes looking into their beautiful bar and others looking out on the New York skyline. The hostess escorted us into the dining room, allowing us to choose between a smaller, two-person table and a larger, 4-person booth. We, naturally, opted for the cozy booth facing the Hudson River, a lovely touch for the romantic occasion. The hostess also gifted me a beautiful red rose. After a few moments, our waiter, Derby, came to get our drink orders. I had contemplated getting the Almost Normal, which contained many of my favorite ingredients (Del Maguey Vida mezcal, St. Germain elderflower, pomegranate, lime), but my boyfriend opted for that one. As an effort to get something different, I went with the Frequent Flyer, which was a blend of Haiken Lychee Vodka, Ketel One cucumber & mint, fresh lemon, coconut, and sour hibiscus. The drink tasted nothing like I had expected. It was creamy, chalky, coconutty, and sweet; it resembled what I would imagine a tutti frutti colada would be like, and I was not a fan. My sip of the Almost Normal was much more pleasing. When it came time to order a second drink, I asked for sips of the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc from Rustenberg Wines on the Western Cape of South Africa and the 2023 Sancerre from Renaissance in the Loire Valley of France. While I know these wines were utilizing the same grape, they were extremely similar in taste, so I proceeded with the Sauvignon Blanc, which was $15 a glass, versus the Sancerre at $19. From a food perspective, there was no set menu for the holiday, but there was a $120 per person minimum, to be used across drinks and cuisine. Because of this fact and the intriguing description of the Autumn Soup, I decided to order the appetizer. The server had said that the vegan broth would be in a small cup, but it actually wound up being a larger portion than I had expected. The creamy, yet light, soup was a puree of various squashes, roasted apples, and miso paste. There was also a large acorn squash ring included as a garnish. Typically, I love that kind of soup, particularly with the addition of apple, but the miso added a tang that I had mixed feelings about. My boyfriend had not ordered an appetizer, but we took notice of the empty bread plates on the table. We asked Derby for some, and I looked forward to dipping the focaccia he mentioned into my hearty soup. However, the bread did not arrive. Instead, our main courses came out first. For my entree, I selected the Miso-Glazed Black Bass, which was perfectly cooked and served over baby bok choy that was sprinkled with sesame seeds. There was a thin citrus beurre blanc on the plate, as well, but both that and the miso could have been kicked up a notch. The dish was delicious, but the flavor was muted and a bit more miso could have went a long way. My companion enjoyed his Beef Filet, which had a nice crust on it. Though I did not take a bite of the steak, I did grab a scoop of his delicious Mashed Potatoes, which were creamy, studded with roasted garlic cloves, and topped with fresh rosemary sprigs. About halfway through our meal, we questioned Derby as to the whereabouts of our bread. He quickly got a plate delivered and was sure to tell us that the typical $2 fee would be removed from our bill, since I was unable to enjoy the bread with my starter. We appreciated the humble act, but thought the usual $2 cost for 4 slices of dry bread was unnecessary. Given that it was Valentine's Day, we decided to treat ourselves to dessert. The warm and gooey Apple & Pear Bread Pudding was delightful! It was served with a drizzle of caramel sauce, with a saucer of extra on the side if we so desired. It also came with a scoop of what tasted like creme fraiche ice cream, which was way too cold and hard to eat right away. Our order of Sorbet included 3 scoops of our choice, though we could only select from pineapple and lime. We tried a bit of both, but, again, they were too frozen and could have had more flavor. As I went to write this review, I noticed that the Valentine's Day section of the website mentioned a "complimentary champagne toast with dessert" and chocolate-covered strawberries, neither of which was offered to us that night. Overall, we were happy with the experience at Drift, but there were clearly some service matters that could have been improved.

Came here tonight for a friend's birthday. The service, drinks, and food were amazing. Our server Murilo was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect. Had the skirt steak cooked perfectly. Lock and key drink was very good. Miyazaki roll was also very good. You can taste the quality. The spicy rigatoni and whipped ricotta is also a must. Will be back again.

Wonderful venue for a birthday celebration. Service was phenomenal and the food was perfection. We celebrated a special friend and so glad we were able to do it at Drift. Everything we ordered was extremely tasty and because there were 5 of us, we were able to share and taste everything. Definitely going to be returning the next time I'm in town! See you next time!!!

Packed for dinner on a Saturday night! We had cocktails at the bar beforehand, and liked that it was tucked away from the rest of the restaurant - it gave the bar a cozy chic vibe. The sushi was great, as were the flatbreads! Wine list was somewhat limited. Service at the start of dinner was good - very attentive and friendly, but it declined throughout the meal. We had a hard time signaling for water refills, dessert, and the check which was surprising given how attentive the staff were to start.

This is a tough review to write because I am very torn after visiting Drift for the first time. The food was absolutely delicious, but the service and wait time in between each part of the meal was not great. It took about 30 minutes to get our entree after having appetizers and then another 20-25 minutes to get our dessert after our entrees. The food itself was really great and if this review was solely based off of that, I'd give it 5 stars but unfortunately the service made it pretty hard to leave an overall positive review.

What a phenomenal place. Service was great. This place might be near, but they are off to a great start. We started off with a drift roll, which was my favorite. The happy ending role was very good as well. Then they had this Miza something roll with seared Wagyu beef. The sushi is incredibly fresh. Yes the price point is a bit high, but the quality of the food is excellent. The only negative was that I went with two other friends who ate too much of the rolls and didn't leave me enough. Then we had a tomahawk steak, which was very good overall. I thought it could've been a little warmer. They may want to consider hot plates for the steaks to keep the steak hot. we had these french fries that were called Jenga fries that might've been the best fries I've ever had. And the polenta was great as well. We started off with McCallen's and it was a really nice pour at the bar. Then we had a couple of bottles of wine, which were superb. an excellent night.

Went for a brunch on Saturday and we were the only ones in the restaurant, but it still took over 2 hours for apps, lunch and dessert. There were only 9 and many people working there but the service was super slow and food semi cold. I don't think they are used to serving a large table. The food presentation could use some work. Very disappointed in the food quality and temperature. Lobster Benedict was serves not with a poached egg but almost hard boiled with soggy English muffin. The avocado toast also was served on soggy bread. The location and decor is beautiful but they have some work to improve upon on the kitchen. Valet parking is also $15 alittle insane. Probably not going back but rooting for improvements and success as we need good restaurants in the area.

It was our first time eating at Drift. Michelle was our server snd was excellent. She was very attentive, especially since i almost spilled the mignonette sauce. As soon as it happened, Michelle was there to fix the spoon. Our water glasses never went below 1/2 full. For appetizer we had east coast oysters and octopus. My husband had the ny strip steak with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I had the miso glazed sea bass with sesame bok choy. I was hesitant to get this because i'm not a big fan of bok choy. This dish was excellent! Even the bok choy. Michelle gave us a complimentary dessert. I had dark chocolate gelato and my husband had pineapple tangerine sorbet. Everything was great.

Drift is a beautiful restaurant with great views, impeccable service, and served very good food. For appetizers we had the Autumn Soup which was OUTSTANDING and the ricotta served focaccia. The focaccia was good, but I had much better focaccia bread at other restaurants. The ricotta it was served with was very good. For entrees we had the acorn squash agnolotti and the Alaskan King crab gnocchi. The acorn squash agnolotti was FANTASTIC! The Alaskan King crab gnocchi wasn't good! The gnocchis were very small and not pillowy soft. They weren't tasty and neither was the sauce it came in. For desserts we had the bread pudding and the coconut rice pudding. Both desserts were good with the bread pudding being slightly better. I didn't care much for the dessert menu and there were no chocolate options. Desserts were good, but nothing I'd order again. We would definitely come back and try some more dishes. I recommend dining at Drift in Weehawken!

I had high expectations for Drift, especially since the space was once home to a Weehawken legacy (IYKYK). My first experience here was a birthday dinner courtesy of my best friend and she knows how to treat people - so we truly dined from soup to nuts. The place is beautifully decorated, with an eclectic selection of table styles ranging from bar high tops to traditional seated tables - although, I'm not quite sure what the theming is suppose to be. They obviously chose the decor with purpose, from the mosaic walls to the warm lighting and mahogany-wood touches. We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation and the restaurant - save for the bar - was dead. When we checked in, however, the hostess made us wait a few minutes which was a little off putting. In any event, we were able to wait by the bar and it was packed - in fact, it was standing room only. (Maybe the bar is where it's at here.) They offer a lot of fun, seasonal cocktails with cutesy names and interesting ingredients like blood orange and elderflower. When we finally sat down, our server promptly came over - I believe his name was Anderson, and he was truly excellent. He was just the right amount of helpful and courteous and wasn't overbearing, which is a tough balance to keep. The menu - in my opinion - is a little small. It is also priced on the high side - and I get it, you're paying for the location here. However, the food should be spectacular for the price and I can truthfully say it wasn't. I don't mind paying for good food, but this was not it. Some things were very tasty, but I wanted to LOVE everything. It could have been the items we chose, but again for the price they are charging, everything on the menu should hit. We started with the whipped ricotta and chopped autumn salad. The salad was actually delicious, but the portion was definitely meant for one and not shareable, as it came on a small appetizer size plate. The ricotta itself was delicious - it has a lovely smooth texture and the maple was a excellent addition - but the focaccia was just passable (although perhaps I'm bias, as I will admit I make a mean focaccia). But the true kicker here is we paid 23 dollars for bread and cheese - the profit margin seems through the roof on this. For entrees, I opted for the skirt steak (which came described as having 'crispy potato jenga') and chimichurri and my friend had the filet - which, for a exorbitant price tag of 62 dollars - was serve a-la-cart, so she grabbed a side of the mashed potato puree. My steak itself was truly excellent - apparently, it was marinated in brown butter and coffee overnight, and it resulted in an extremely tender and rich cut of beef unlike I've ever experienced before. Truth be told, the chimichurri sauce (which is heavily cilantro and vinegar based) did not pair with the warm, decadent flavor profile at all, and almost seems like a waste to even serve with it. In addition, the 'crispy potato jenga' turned out to be six (yep, six - because I counted) half-cut, undersalted steak fries - aka, just a menu gimmick. My friend's filet did just not appeal to her - while she didn't say anything specific, she just wasn't blown away by the flavor. (And also, how costly would it be to dollop a scoop of mashed potatoes on to the plate to say it comes with a side? Although, that might not be the move because the potato puree had no flavor whatsoever, and IMO it's really tough to screw up mashed potatoes.) Let's move on to dessert. I opted for the bread pudding to split - while it was described as 'apple and pear,' I don't think I came across any fruit whatsoever. The caramel sauce the waiter poured on was the best part. It was a fine dessert but again, if you're spending 15 dollars for bread pudding (which is literally made up of one the cheapest food materials on the market), I want my mind to be blown. Ultimately, Drift has a lot of potential to be an excellent spot with some tweaks, specifically to the value of the food. A restaurant like this needs to be sustainable in order to keep up with the cost of the real estate, and I don't see this happening. While high quality, the taste of the food does not justify the cost. Drift may serve Wagyu beef, but if the dish itself doesn't impress anyone, the customer is going to leave feeling disappointed. In addition, how much does it cost to put some kind of potato side with the filet? Or to make true, genuine hand cut fries instead of the hokey labeled 'crispy jenga'? Things like that can only get a business so far, and Drift may want to reevaluate the food experience they are giving to the customer.

We had our first time at Drift Restaurant for happy hour food and drinks, and it was amazing! I can confidently say that it's the best restaurant in Weehawken, NJ. I can't wait to try their outdoor bar when the weather gets warmer. Also Jamie was our bartender everything from food and drinks he recommended hit the spot

Was really excited to try this place however after being seated and while looking at the menu we saw a MOUSE in the dining area no more than 10ft from our table. We immediately got up to leave and when we told the waiter their response was "oh". No emergency , concern or anything. I get it you are by the water but if this is something you are aware of (which the waiters response it seems like they know) then you need to take care of it. 10/10 will never recommend.

Loved everything about this restaurant! Food, ambience & most especially the top notch service! Shout out to Anthony who outdid himself! We (6 of us) had brunch outside & it was wonderful. The weather was great & so was the view. We ordered a lotta appetizers to share. Everything was great! My Lobster Benedict was spot on! I loved the food so much Im going back this weekend!! Drift is now my favorite restaurant!!

The ambiance and decor is beautiful. We started with the Grilled octopus with white beans, it was delicious. Our server Murillo was excellent. My wife had Sushi and I had the Flat iron steak. Our girls had chicken tenders and fries. The food was great. Drinks were excellent! Would recommend this place.

Stopped by here for the first time after work! I've seen the sign for the opening for some time now so I was excited to stop by. We tried out happy hour and let me tell you, the bar fills up extremely fast. They open at 5 and almost every seat was occupied by 5:10. Luckily, we were one of the first ones. The drinks were all really good and we tried the flatbread, ricotta, and bao buns. My favorite was the flatbread. The ricotta was a little sweet for my liking. The restaurant is def a special occasion spot or a nice date. Def will be back for a drink!

Atmosphere, ambience food everything at this place was top-notch. I travel from New York and took my best friend away for the weekend for her birthday and we went to this place randomly and it was the best decision we made. We will definitely be going back.

Drift opened in recent months in Weehawken, and thus far, it's been worth the wait and then some. We first tried it out via takeout, and it was fantastic. This thus encouraged us to try in-person, and it was even better. We tried the croquettes and a special fig & prosciutto flatbread , which were great. For entrees, my husband went with the skirt steak, while I chose the sea bass. Both were exquisite. Our server, Andy, was awesome, and the place's decor is unmatched. We've even adjusted valentine's dinner plans to make it here. I highly recommend this new place.

Beautiful restaurant! Bartenders top notch very attentive ~ good drinks! The food was mediocre at best, nothing special!

1. Terrible service! Waited 50 minutes for appetizers to come out. Never saw the waiter again until we asked for the check. The food was not brought out by the waiter. 2. The man entrée was small, expensive, but tasty. One side order of mashed potatoes was more like mashed potatoe soup! Another side, order of carrots was pathetic! I couldn't believe they served it with a straight face. The manager was kind enough to remove it from our bill. 3. Three stars only for the atmosphere. Seemed like a very nice date place- if you don't mind poor service and overpriced food. 4. I've been to Blu, which is literally attached to Drift. Blu had a great atmosphere and the service was amazing and the food was excellent.

- Convenient location along the Weehawken waterfront with a view of NYC (and all the commuter buses). - City pricing. Enjoyed the lychee cocktail, beet salad. Oysters - Maine ones were ok. Flatbread was good. - Valet parking is $15 - they support both restaurants and it tooks them a while to get the car. - Menu has a decent number of options. - Server was great but was a bit MIA at the end. - If you have a kid, there is no kid's menu. They have kid's cups. High chairs are for normal height tables. Which is fine. And while there is family bathroom, there is no changing table - so we had to scurry out of there. Asked the front of the house about this on the way out and I felt their answer was "oh yeah? Too bad". One tall guy said they ordered one, without looking up. - They seem to be really busy/fully booked so make a reservation. Although the tables looked roughly half empty when we left around 7ish on a Friday. They let us walk in and we sat next to the bar. - They opened a few days ago and need to work out the kinks so we probably won't be back for a while. - If I were to compare the vibe with Faubourg and Blu, I think both of those feel more welcoming with a younger kid. Maybe if they are open during the day in the future.

Party of two reserved a table for the NYE pre fixed menu priced at $150PP (Tax/gratuity not included). The restaurant offered valet parking at an additional cost of $15. Due to the rain this was a helpful. We were seated by a large window with a view of NYC next to a side door that kept being opened by other restaurants goings in an attempt to enter back into the restaurant without using the main entrance. I had to ask the host to lock the doors due to the cold air that hitting directly to our table. Our waiters greeted us and explained the menu but was not attentive thereafter when we were ready to order making our wait to place an order 30 min + to order. The pre fixed menu was very limited and did not have good options. The better options were offered as add on for additional $$. We ordered two crab Louie's for an addition $15 each on top of the pre fix $150 per person as an appetizer choice. The chef gave us two potatoes balls as an additional appetizer on the house. Those were tasty as well as our crab Louie's despite the very small portion size. We ordered drinks from there menus which cost $18 per specialty drink. The drinks were delicious and well made. We had the octopus as our second dish which had pork inside. We were a lil surprised due to it not being disclosed in the description because we both don't eat pork or beef. Our entree choices were chicken and bass fish dish that neither of us finished due to the lack of flavor and gaminess of the fish. At the end of the night our bill was $515. To be very honest our experience at this restaurant was not the best. We both left very disappointed at the quantity of food served, the waiter not being attentive and the overall quality of the restaurant to host a NYE dinner. Sadly we will not return or recommend. To be very honest we've spent less money and had far better experience at other restaurants.

This is our first time here and having a great meal and being served by Anthony G. He is friendly and making our evening fun. We had sushi rolls and salads -delicious cocktails. We are sitting outside which has a great vibe and covered as well

Went yesterday for mother's day. On a positive note the restaurant is beautiful. The food was just ok and all dishes needed to be hotter. Did I mention there was a plastic shard in the ceasar salad??? The biggest problem was the service. I can honestly say I've never had worse. People at tables near us were walking out because nobody was waiting on them.Finally after 45 minutes a server Michelle came to the rescue. She seemed to be the only one that knew what was going on. Obviously I do not recommend Drift!

I attended the golden hour at Drift last night and I had an amazing time. the vibe was vibing and the food and drinks were exactly what I needed. I can't wait to taste the rest of the menu.

Drift has a perfect location. You feel you are in another world and the view is breathtaking! I would never get bored of Manhattan view! The food is delocious. The staff is very friendly, especially Michelle, she is always smiley and happy to help with the food selection. My husband and I have found our spot: it's called - DRIFT
