The rooms are disgusting! Filfy linens, cockroaches everywhere, shower had no shower head just a pipe squirting out water everywhere, refrigerator and microwave didn't work and homeless hanging out! Go somewhere else!

Stayed here a couple times in past years, but despite the brightly-lit parking lot, observed some sketchy things in the parking lot. |The "lobby" is the size of a closet.

Very comfortable stay. The beds were comfortable, and the room was tidy. The glasses-wearing overnight worker! AMAZING! Fantastic! Friendly! HI! The day guy is tall and somewhat slender. Highly recommended if you want a decent night's sleep!

It's not the most attractive hotel/motel, but the room I got for the weekend was nice, and it served its purpose. The location is ideal, you are next to many restaurants and shopping stores within walking distance. The location is on PCH, so it's easy to get around by car as well. I will definitely book again if I happen to be in this area.

Kudos to Mike the manager who took care of my needs,like a brother. He went out of his way to make sure I was protected and took a stance with the owner, making sure I was not out in the street. During my 2.5 month ( time goes fast) stay and many ups and downs with my health and rent I have never been that cared for and protected +..

I've stayed in way worse for way more. The owners are nice, and you get what you pay for. If you're complaining then maybe you should spend more money on a nicer spot. It's not the Ritz, but no bedbugs or roaches, bed was clean and the shower was hot.

The rooms were brand new and beautiful. The owner bent over backwards to help. I was carrying my bags out meet Uber, the owner came up and insisted that he carry them for me. (I am disabled, but still). The only thing I wondered about was for the 4 days I was there maid service never came to the room... and there was no placard that said please do not disturb OR please make up room. Frankly I was not too sure what to do about a tip, but I figured since it was never made up when I was there, there was no reason to leave a tip... My only suggestion would be to have a door tag so if you want your room made up you can so get it. But other than that it was fantastic. Great location. Comfortable bed. Large TV. And no noise could be heard from adjoining rooms.

This motel was a steal for the price we paid. Booked last minute whilst roadtripping around California and was pleasantly surprised. Check in was easy, the rooms were huge and clean with newly renovated bathroom. The bed was large and comfy and the location was great. Local beach nearby, or if you have a car a half an hour drive to Venice Beach and Beverly Hills. We also had a Dodgers Baseball game booked and the drive back to our hotel was fine. The drive there was horrific but that was due to LA traffic which, unfortunately, is unavoidable. ||||The motel is surrounded by a ton of fast food restaurants and a few eat in places - we drove 15 mins to the Harbour and had a lovely meal at the Cheesecake Factory. ||||We stayed on the second floor and had a great nights sleep after busy days in LA. A tip - if you are planning to drive from LA to Las Vegas this is a great motel to go from as it completely avoids the LA traffic. We got to Vegas in around 4hrs 20. ||||Would definitely recommend this motel if you are looking for something cheap and cheerful! Do not let the outside put you off, just needs a touch of paint...

I stayed at this motel 3 times. It's very basic, a "mom & pop" operation. The "lobby" is about the size of a closet. No frills - not even an ice machine. Two things I liked - no stinking carpeting in the rooms, and it has a clean, brightly lit parking lot. But I observed some questionable activities in that parking lot, so would not stay there again.

We checked in earlier but didn't get to the room til 1030pm, your sign says no smoking but the room smells like cigarette smoke and I have asthma, it looks like blood on the ceiling, the heater doesn't work, we rung the bell at the office but no one responded, there's ashes on the furniture and cigarette burns on the sink, lamp doesn't have bulbs in it.....maybe we're expecting too much for a "Motel"

Worst motel we have ever slept in. Furniture old, no lamps on end tables, holes in the wall. And needs a new paint on the wall. . There are places on the wall that need patches. There is no coffee pot. And the manager is the only one who can fix the TV. Only two small pillows on a king size bed. They are trying to run the motel on the cheap. I will never recommend this motel.

The room was remodeled and nice, but when I pulled into the parking there was a woman yelling at the owner, who was keeping her stuff. The police showed up... The first room they put me in smelled like marijuana, so they gladly gave me a new one. If you are looking for a morning coffee, bring your own coffee maker they don't have one.

Today is my final stay.l will no longer book a room here. This place for one room to the next is either mediocre or a very poor. The room says no smoking yet the furniture and blankets have holes in them from cigarettes. I even brought food with me and placed it in the fridge only to find out 4 hours later that the refrigerator wasn't working. I called the manager and he came over to see the what the problem was. Come to find out, some jackass remove the cord fom the wall behind the refrigerator. No consolation for my food that was not very appealing afterwards and no offer to be compensated. It always seems to be something here. Last night I had some crazy white woman trying to talk to me through my window as I was sleeping. At 1:30 in the morning she woke me up again spewing some garbage about something and apologizing that she had the wrong room. Then I could hear her 2 hours later yelling and screaming. Another 3 hours passes by and she is having a screaming match with some white dude who appeared to be a tweaker much like herself. I called the front office and they refused to pick up the phone. They don't want to be responsible for the things that happened in and on their property but they're quick to take your money for a room that isn't worth the price they're charging. As for the crazy lady I don't know what happened to her because I had to personally call the police then roll over and go back to sleep. The following morning I called the front office I spoke to the father of the business and he didn't seem to care very much. I told him the next time that happens to call the police and have her trespassed from the property and if she comes back they will arrest her. His response was: they have dealt with this woman before and they will not arrest her because she's crazy. That is a lie and a load of horseshit. If you're the owner of a hotel you do what's right so your tenants can have a restful night sleep and if there is an officer who is unwilling to do his job then you contact and watch Commander. I didn't much believe what he told me anyways. So, be fair warned about this hotel because it is and always will be a shithole as long as these people are running it. Oh' yeah I failed to mention the dilapidated outdated and stained furniture, spray painted graffiti on a wall of one of the rooms which is covered with a photo paint that hasn't been refreshed for probably 15 years and holes in the wall. Let's not forget the cockroaches. Please don't answer just too lazy and take no personal pride in taking care of their property. Oh' great, there is an ambulance that just pulled up outside my window right now at this hotel. Let's hope it's not another dead body found in a room. I heard somebody say 105. About a month and a half ago some guy died in room 110. I watched them take him out in a body bag. Not a great place you want to come and relax, and certainly not a place that is child friendly. In closing, let me just say that you will be wasting your money and we highly disappointed in a very big way if you came here to stay.

Really super surprised What looked like a kitschy run-down motel was in fact a clean, newly remodeled motel definitely on par with Comfort Inns, Ramada, etc. Better than M6. And the improvements are still in process so I'm looking forward to going back. Owners are nice & attentive. AND they have the 24-hour Dodgers channel. Stay here and spend less than at a sports bar, lol.

This is a very clean, quiet and comfortable motel. The large screen TV, microwave and small refer were nice features and the bed was very comfortable. The price is reasonable for the area. Actually it's the best motel my husband and I have stayed at in the area. My doctor at UCLA Torrance is located just 2 or 3 blocks away and there are a few fast food places within walking distance, so the location is very convenient. The price is fair and the owner is very nice and accommodating. Believe it or not, the only negative are the LED lightbulbs they use. They are harsh and glaring and need to be replaced with softer lightbulbs (maybe I'll bring my own next visit ). Thank you for a nice stay...we will definitely be back.

This place deserves zero stars . Absolutely horrid experience, I reserved a room ahead of time as I knew surrounding hotels were sold out. We arrived by taxi at 2am and unloaded our luggage into the tiny lobby (also filthy and poorly lit) I immediately notice a sign that says "NO VACANCY" on the window. But I had already reserved a room so I thought we were all set. I rang the bell, nothing....waited a few minutes, rang again. Finally a father and son (I believe) looking very irritated to have been bothered point at the sign and repeat "no rooms", I explained I had already made a reservation, they immediately noticed I have a service dog who is clearly vested and they said NO ANIMALS, I explained she is a service dog and I cannot be without her, we argued and I explained the laws of the Americans with Disabilities Act as I am legally disabled, and they refused us the room we had already paid for! They ordered us out of the lobby because of my service dog, causing us the sleep outside on a concrete curb in the side parking lot of a local business huddled under a small blanket. I was and still am horrified at the treatment we received and the pain and stress and humiliation it caused, I will be contacting the ADA about this horrific hotel.

Clean and comfortable rooms for the price and location. Quiet, non-smoking. Good shower and bed. Extra towels and pillows suggested. Plenty of parking. Walking distance to food, liquor stores and bars. Owner on premises. Easy to miss driveway.

Ohhhh Driftwood Motel... **ONLY REASON FOR 2 STARS INSTEAD OF 1 IS I KNEW COMING HERE THAT IT WOULD BE BAD...I GOT WHAT I DESERVED!** To call this place a dump would be an insult to all the charming lil dumps in Torrance. So, the story goes: Everywhere else was sold out and we just wanted to get to the beach asap so we ended up at the Driftwood. Believe me, we had no delusions of grandeur...but wow was this place run down. - Leaking toilet with the bathroom smelling of urine. - Warning on the gate of the pool mentioning recent issues with diarrhea. - Refrigerator in the room didn't work. - No ice machine - T.V. had 3 channels. - Floor felt like it was going to cave-in. (Upstairs Room) - Loose carpeting on the stairway made me trip and almost fall down the stairs. Annnnnd then there's the owner... - Called at first to verify prices found online and was hung up on. - She came to the window when I got there in her nightgown...at 3:30 pm on a Thursday. - Very rude...a smile might have cracked her face. I woke up in the middle of the night and stepped out of the room for a smoke. She proceeds to walk across the parking lot, walks upstairs and yell at me, insisting that I go back into my room and go to bed. I mean...I just...I dunno what to even say about that. THEN, after finishing my smoke and going back into the room to bed, I get a phone call from her saying that there were noise complaints!!!! Remember, this is around 2am-ish. WTF?! Who does that to a full grown adult?! LESSON LEARNED...NEVER AGAIN DRIFTWOOD, NEVER AGAIN.

I thought this place was clean it's not! I woke up to bites on my calf's and saw a bed bug crawling in the bed. I am getting my money back.

The absolute last resort forsure. The old lady is very trippy. If u lose the remote, u have to pay 25 bucks for it. There's blood stain everywhere around the bed. Lol it's gross. It's not even worth paying 50 a night. I'd rather grab a sleeping bag and sleep on the grass on some park. Shitty. Don't go here unless if u really have no where else to go.

I was pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews before it changed ownership that slammed it for being a dump. The room was modern, spacious and all the appliances were new. I spent a comfortable night there with no problems at all. The owner greeted me the next morning and told me of his plans to further update the place.I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Absolute dump, with worst rooms and service I've ever experienced in my life. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid ME to do so. Avoid at all costs.

The motel is certainly the local discount option; the furniture does not match (we noticed the room's trash can came from a Quality Inn), our room smelled of smoke, the swimming pool is lined with the proprietress's container garden and gallon jugs of bleach. But hey, why shouldn't she be growing melons, spinach, and tomatoes along the fenceline? And the mismatched office chairs were clean and comfortable and did the trick just fine. The proprietress was helpful, personable, competent, and friendly. She cut us a deal because we showed up pretty late at night and were obviously looking for a cheap room. The room was totally adequate, and (though a little dingy) unquestionably clean. Our used towels were consistently replaced day-of. For the three nights we spent there, Thursday through Sunday, the building was quiet and seemed perfectly safe. I noticed no police traffic at all, contrary to one earlier reviewer. The place has character. Plus it's right on the PCH, nice location. Next time I'm in Redondo Beach, I'll certainly stay again. I dock one star only because we couldn't get away from the cigarette smoke smell.

Safe, quiet, clean, cheap, and charming, with a great location right on the PCH (a few minutes from Redondo Beach). Rooms cleaned daily, with new towels and remade beds. During the four nights we were there, there was always at least one vacancy available. And our room was roughly half the price of the closest competitor. The staff were accommodating and thoughtful -- one woman cautioned that it would be wise for us to move our car to avoid soaking up the the afternoon sun. And I appreciated that they were willing to haggle on price at 2 AM. They also let all four of us stay in a single two-bedroom unit. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke and the furnishings were old and mismatched. The smoke alarm had been disconnected (presumably by the previous guest), although we never bothered to fix it. But otherwise the room is totally livable. I'll stay here again next time I'm in town.

this place deserves 0 stars, worst experience ever, found 4 roaches just parading the walls and bathrooms. actually stepped on one while looking around and trying to kill one on the wall. there are dumps of old furniture on the side of the building. AGAIN WITH ALL THE REST OF THE REVIEWS I WILL NOT STAY HERE IF SOMEONE PAID ME TO. seriously not even a last resort, I would never, ever stay here in a million years EVER!!!!!!! SO DISGUSTING!!!
