Seafood-Centric Drift on 7th Has Closed | Eater DC

"A Shaw seafood spot called Drift on 7th has closed just shy of its second anniversary; management of the low-key eatery—which replaced upscale predecessor Fishnet—alerted supporters on social media January 29, saying, "It’s been a great run, but the time has come for our little restaurant to Drift off into the sunset. To all of our many friends we say THANKS!" No word yet on what founder Ferhat Yalcin plans to do next." - Warren Rojas

Lots of tvs, smoking on patio, all day happy hour on thirsday.a lovely gentleman I met at the kava bar next door bought me 4 chicken tacos no tortilla. I couldn't afford a drink even though it was only 3 bucks. I'll be back the wings look good. Calista the bartender was excellent but her Guinness pour needs work. They accommodated my disability. Rhylie was super nice to me and made me feel safe. Now I am fed and ready for the next adventure.

Driftwoods nails it—great food, excellent beer, and a welcoming small-town vibe. The patio is perfect for catching a game with a huge multi screen tv I would love to have at home. Their menu mixes pub favorites with fresh, elevated options. I also recommend for kids who can sit outside and you don’t feel they are too loud. A newer spot that’s definitely worth supporting—go give this local gem a try!

I genuinely enjoyed my first time visiting here. It’s placed next to North Mountain which makes it a great spot to go to for beer after a good hike, which is what I did. I liked how welcoming the staff was and how and the atmosphere also gave off the same feeling. The whole place is clean, comfortable and many huge flat screens which makes it very easy to sit at any angle and you will not miss a game. The food is really what makes this place shine, I wanted some protein and first ordered the “Steak Bites” which is steak cut into cubes, cooked (for me) medium. The dish came out sizzling, meat cooked perfect, and the butter they had made the plate so good. Finally, I was feeling a bit more hungry and asked for some chicken nachos. I kid you not, that dish was FIRE! If you like nachos, you gotta get some from there. The chicken was also diced but cooked almost like pollo asado. It was completely satisfying. I am adding a picture of it so you guys see how cool those nachos were. If it’s your first time alone or with people. Come give check this place out, it’s so worth it.

Driftwood Sports grill bar is a great place for watching a game or boxing match outside of your home. The price is right and the Atmosphere and customer service is perfect. The new owner came out and spoke with us to make sure everything was going well ☺️. Please try this place it is a vibe !

This will be our new game day spot! Service was great, food was great and just can’t wait till we can get a nice cold beer. We had Camilla as our server and she was super sweet! Wings were so good and I’m pretty sure they make the ranch in house which was a plus! The shrimp cocktail was delish with a more Asian zing to it.

Excellent neighborhood spot for great food, cold beers and watching the games. They have three different dining areas, each being a different vibe. There's the first dining area as soon as you walk in which is much more quiet with no TVs around. Around the corner you'll find the main TV area with a full bar, plenty of high top tables which is where I've sat multiple times. Once the weather starts getting cooler, I will absolutely be taking advantage of the outdoor patios and large TVs out there. The food has been awesome. The wings are amazing - we tried the red chile spice ones which were like Asian/Korean zing style. We've also had the BBQ and those are also great.. My kid's chicken tenders were so damn good. Probably the best tenders I've had. I don't usually write reviews but I live in the neighborhood and love having a spot like this around the corner. I highly recommend it.

The food was good and the service was exceptional! I asked for the wings to be grilled with the sauce on the side and they delivered. The wings were great. Looking forward to checkout their mixed drinks in the future. Glad there is another great spot in the neighborhood.

Stopped in on way home from errands for quick bite and drink before heading home. Not into sports and they were a little busy with the Sunday football crowd yet service was still quick and great. Sat on patio. Huge split screen. Relaxed, casual friendly fun vibes. Owner came to say hi and check on things. Dakota was my server/bartender and he was great! Attentive and great customer service. Recommended a few things and he was on point. Mac and cheese yummy and so is their chunky homemade guacamole. Since I live down the street, I will be back for their happy hour (doesn't end till 7!) and they daily specials too check out. Glad we got new spot in the Slope hood.
