Drink Books Pairs Must-Read Novels With Bottles of Natural Wine - Eater Seattle

"Kim Kent rarely reads a good book without a matching-in-quality libation nearby. But what makes a glass of wine — or any drink, really — a good counterpart to your favorite novel? It’s not science, but closer to an art defined by instinct; something she can’t quite explain. It’s also at the heart of her newly opened shop, Drink Books, which specializes in curating and selling books and natural wines." - Emma Banks

One of my favourite spots in Seattle - I always bring friends from out of town here and they’re always rightfully enamoured with the book and wine pairings, service (the folks here are so sweet and give the best recs), and decor. Kind of wish this was my living room 🥲. I’d also recommend going to one of their events for the best treats and loveliest vibes.

I love this shop, it’s so peaceful and inviting. All of the thoughtful details (the vintage wine glasses, the art, and furniture) make this a unique and much needed third place. I love going in on Sundays to pick up a bottle, have a nice chat with the staff, and read the handwritten notes about each book pairing.

Such a fun place to go! I stumbled across this place after picking up a pie next door. Just by telling them my wine preferences I was recommended a book and wine. If anyone is like me and loves to read, looking to try a new local wine, then I recommend checking Drink Books out!

Gorgeous bright bookstore with a wonderfully curated selection of books and beverages. There's something for everyone, including non-alcoholic options which I greatly appreciated. The description cards for each book (and beverage pairing) were thoughtful and creative. 10/10 weekend book browsing vibes, plus there's A La Mode pies right next door for your post-book-buying sweet treat!

Wandered past this spot on an evening walk. Intuitive selection of books, to be paired with a great selection of wine. Definitely will be coming by here often!

Yelp
I saw Drink Books featured on KING5 Evening yesterday evening and had to check out this unique retail concept (1/26/22). It is located near Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood, next door to A La Mode Pies. Evidently, I've been under a rock driving past many times since they've been open since November 2021. It is quite the transformation from a former hair salon. I love the concept of indie, local, women owned, plus books and wine! Warmly greeted upon entry. I gave a 360 degree look over. With my current situation, I had to really resist the urge of impulse buy, especially with a Toni Morrison title paired with a Merlot blend. One can buy the items paired or as stand alones. There's also a collection paired also with tasting notes and displayed ftom.the Club Cru, their book club. The next meet up is in mid Feb 2022. Never enough time and space for books, I plead guilty with the organized chaos at home. Here the aesthetic is clean, bright with lovely plants and support of local artists. So if you or another enjoys books, wine, or just finding that unique gift, and find yourself in Phinney Ridge...stop by Drink Books and support another local indie!
