Portland’s Exciting New Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurants - Eater Portland

"Drink Mamey first made a splash when Cydnie Smith-McCarthy began sharing juicing videos and selling her juices online during the early months of the pandemic. When Smith-McCarthy took over the Killingsworth location of Tea Bar, she transformed it into a homebase for her juice business and a wellness space for the BIPOC community. In addition to her concoctions blended with a slew of healthy ingredients — from pineapple and kale, to blue spirulina and wheatgrass powder — Drink Mamey also offers self-care products, like hand-poured soaps and sea moss gummies, from local makers for pickup and delivery." - Waz Wu

10 Portland Cafes and Carts for Juice, Smoothies, and Wellness Shots - Eater Portland

"Drink Mamey [mom-ayyye], the new Black-owned juice shop on NE Killingsworth, has a wellness, sustainability, and social justice focus, starting as an online business last year. Since then, Drink Mamey has absolutely exploded in popularity, serving drinks like the oft-ordered, blue-hued Majikal drink, made with pineapple, mint, and E3 (blue-green algae). The slightly spicy, citrus-forward This Will Make You Feel Good is another hit, with pineapple, orange, turmeric, ginger, lemon, and pepper. However, some of Mamey’s coolest drinks are the simplest, like the savory Just Celery juice. Juices go for $12, while a filling smoothie costs $8, but the shop also has a recycling program, providing customers a $1 discount on a future juice purchase when they return one of their empty glass bottles to the shop. Drink Mamey also offers delivery, taking pick-up orders on its website." - Jenni Moore

Inside the New Juice Bar and Wellness Shop Drink Mamey, Opening Saturday - Eater Portland

"As soon as you step inside Drink Mamey’s clean, all-white interior, the appealing scent of ripe fruit and fresh flowers becomes overwhelming—in a good way. The order counter display contains a picturesque moss garden of live plants and succulents, where some decoy bottled juices (read: water and food coloring) are lovingly nestled for decoration. One wall has been completely taken over by an artsy blanket of fake rose leaves and live flowers, cushioning three orange words: “Drink ya juice.” Starting October 31, Portlanders can — one of the city’s new favorite juice brands will open its shop on Killingsworth Saturday." - Jenni Moore

A New Juice Bar Aims to be a Wellness Space for BIPOC Portlanders - Eater Portland

"Drink Mamey is a juice bar that offers a variety of health-specific and tasty drinks, incorporating things like cucumber, watermelon, and herbal blends. The drink menu is generally split between very health-specific drinks and drinks that are just tasty; for instance, the first three juices she sold will appear on the menu, with blends like pineapple-celery-cucumber, watermelon-lemon-apple, and carrot-pineapple-lime. On the “feel good” side of things, she wants to create drinks that specifically target certain health issues, utilizing things like ashwagandha. The space won’t just be a juice bar: it will feature products from Black makers and business owners of color, like skin care products, candles, and flowers." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Drink Mamey is one of my favorite juice bars in Portland! Every time I come in, Cydnie and her whole team are so welcoming and I’ve had nothing but genuine interactions with everyone there. They are all very knowledgeable about what’s in their juice and smoothies as well as the products that they carry from local businesses. Highly recommend coming here for not just the juice, but also the people!

Google
What an absolutely phenomenal experience! First thing we need to cover is how fantastic both the smoothies and the drinks are. I ordered the apple a day and can I just saw holy good God this was so good, so fresh, and exactly what I wanted. My wife ordered the Mamey's Fav and there is no other way to explain how delicious all these flavors came together. Secondly the team at Drink Mamey is so kind, so welcoming and by far one of the most impressive local businesses I've ever been to. The owner is the real McCoy and she's for sure going places. I have no doubt that you may start to see more Drink Mameys around in the next year or so. Do yourself the just, the kindness, the favor and come here to get a cold pressed juice or smoothie that is unlike any other I've ever been to. 10/10 would 1000% come here again.

Google
I have so so much love in my heart for this black owned business. As a black woman who was literally raised on the street this shop is now open on I have to say it makes me so happy to see something black owned in the location AND something so healthy and delicious! Not only are the drinks suuuper bomb they have such a positive energy in the shop and it’s a beautiful space! Both of the owners were present during my visit and they were just sweethearts! They even made my baby a mini smoothie 💕 HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Google
We love this place. My two year old was going through a particularly picky phase not wanting to fruits or veggies. The drink mamey smoothie was a life saver. Our family loves the juices and customer service is always top tier always, even with a busy two in the store.

Google
THE JUICE IS FIRE. Wonderful staff. The owners are great people. Cute environment. But the JUICE. Never really been a juice person until I found Drink Mamey and now I spend most days craving it. It’s not a coincidence they sell out often

Google
This is my go-to juice place in Portland and well worth the 30 minute drive across town. Besides serving flavorful, healthy juices and smoothies Drink Mamey also sells partner products such as custom-made soaps, skin care lotions, and plants.

Google
Delicious juices with incredible combination of flavors! The proportions were spot on, not too tangy not too sweet. The grape is a must try! The space inside is also lovely with awesome branding, graphics and illustrations!

Yelp
I visit Drink Mamey today, and it was a great experience. The shop's vibe is so chill and welcoming. I purchased the Apple, Ginger, Lemon juice. It was delicious. I love ginger and this juice did skimp out. The ginger was pronounced and fresh. I also really like the packaging. The owner shared great information about all the ingredients. I definitely will go back. I also appreciated that other BIPOC-owned items were sold there. I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Drink Mamey is a Black owned juice and wellness brand in Portland, providing plant based and superfood powered juices and smoothies. I had to go support since I've been on a journey to better health via food and that is exactly Drink Mamey's goal. They have different options for what works for you: You can order smoothies ahead and take them home to add whatever you want. I asked for my smoothie to be blended in house with additional superfoods. Juices can also be ordered ahead of time. I've also been told that ordering on a Thursday is more promising to see the variety of juices and smoothie options. In contrast, I went in on a Sunday and they had very few options left - which is a good sign to me. Smoothies: Drink Up is a green smoothie packed with a punch of lemon and ginger, perfect for boosting your winter immunity. Hood Rising is had mild sweetness, just enough to help curve a sweet tooth. Juices: Let It Glow: green juice that's really fresh while also being mildly sweet and sour Green Is Good: standard green juice that is light with a mild fresh flavor Majikal: a refreshing juice with a mildly sour flavor Apple A Day: a perfectly balanced sweet and peppery juice with a hint of sourness They also sell house plants and superfood sea moss products. Bonus points for good natural lighting and a cute background you can snap a quick picture in front of.

Yelp
I just stopped by Drink Mamey and it was the cutest place! We came at the end of the week so they only had a couple flavors available but they make new juices on Monday I believe. They also had some local produce and a local plant vendor. I got the "sweet talk" juice and it was the perfect sweetness for me...but I do have a sweet tooth lol. They also sell hair products from a local company too! Definitely check this place out! Super sweet staff!

Yelp
The juice is amazing! I've already been back twice and definitely plan to go again. Customer service is great, and the two times I've gone in has given me family reunion vibes and I'm here for it. The product is high quality, and I look forward to trying more juices and smoothies. Drink Mamey is worth checking out! Plus the glass juice bottles are cute.

Yelp
All of their juices are so delicious! Every time I try a new flavor I love this company even more. Highly recommend

Yelp
My experience at Drink Mamey has and always will be amazing. I've watched this company grow so much over the year and it just keeps getting better. The service is top tier and even sells products made by Portland natives. They definitely make me feel welcomed and appreciated every time I make a purchase!

Yelp
Thank you, drink Mamey for being a business of integrity and quality (YUMM, YUMM, YUMMY) and for the incredible customer service. Worth a drive from the Westside!

Yelp
It's hard to find the words to describe the amazing, kind, and hardworking team at Drink Mamey. Their team is full of kindhearted individuals who prioritize the safety and well being of their customers. The juice is amazing, and their dedication to providing healthy juice foe the Portland community is inspiring. When you enter into the shop, you are greeted commonly by the owner, Cydnie, or Richard. They both provide great customer service and this is always one of my favorite small businesses to support in Portland.

Yelp
I've always been such a HUGE fan of DRINK MAMEY. So happy to see Cydnie opening her own store. THIS WOMAN GIVES ME LIFE, she is everything I love in an entrepreneur. She love and passion goes into the drinks we made, her story and especially how she gives back to the community. I promise you, you don't want to miss out on the chance of letting Mamey juice nourish your soul.
