Drink Texas Bar

Nice small intimate bar. Very cold brew, but AC seemed out on this visit. VERY friendly, attentive, and engaging bartenders. Today was packed with convention guests, and bartenders rocked it!!

My family was on vacation in San Antonio and we came across this place. The drinks were incredible, the service was amazing, and our bartender was so kind. She explained each signature cocktail in detail and how they represent the state and city. We loved it so much we had to come back the next day! I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for a cool little place to get some drinks!

Great local bar. Staff is so friendly! Prices are very reasonable. Everyone in this area should come check out a local bar in the middle of the touristy area of the river walk for a great time and great drinks!

Meh. Came because it has a 9pm super extended HH but they don't have it anymore. Ends at 8 now. Bartender was friendly but very short on time for us for a bar that had one other person in it. The decor is urban-bar nice. If it fills up it is probably a good spot.

Good bar and good atmosphere .They had various board games we could play. Although i did find the drinks pretty pricy compared to other bars around. I understand its a higher end bar than some others but if your getting a standard beer a $ 2.00 increase is not worth it.

Very nice waterin hole! Was here several times during my stay in San Antonio. Small, and the times I was here, not rowdy…just a good hang out. Loved it!

I had a Texas roll up drink. I enjoyed it so much that I had another. The atmosphere was pretty chill. Not too busy when I went either.

Highly recommended visiting this bar, great for Sunday Funday. Drinks are reasonably priced and have specials all the time. Friendly staff as well.

Came here and HAD A TIME! They have great pricing on drinks, there's enough space to dance and the service was really good. Samantha was our bartender and she definitely made sure we enjoyed our experience! Looking forward to coming back here.

A nice "dive" bar across the street from hotel. No frills but good beer on tap, a selection of cocktails to choose, and some nice, friendly bartenders to help you out. No problem finding a seat at the bar on a Thursday night. I think most of the people were drawn in because they had Thursday Night Football on the TVs. Since those games are only on Amazon Prime, a little harder to find a bar showing them, even with Dallas playing in the game! All in all, not a bad spot to catch the game and make some friends.

This was such a fun bar! My best friend and I came to San Antonio for a work conference and stopped by this place to get a drink. The bartender was extremely nice and welcoming, the prices were VERY affordable, and the atmosphere was very chill. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

16 Apr 2023 This is a fairly small bar. It has a bar that seats about ten people along with a few tall tables and chairs. The bartender was decorating for Fiesta. Several draft beers available and bottled beer. Full bar. Touch Tunes internet jukebox. A nice enough place. Maybe just quiet on Sunday afternoons.

A fun bar that is a little off the riverwalk; this was perfect as it was less packed and much easier to get a drink! We had a group looking for an after party lol. First we tried a place right on the river but it was packed with no tables so we ended up at Drink Texas and it was exactly what we were looking for! It wasn't super full when we got there which let us get drinks, but the DJ was pretty great and by the time they kicked us out at 2 there was a good party going on! They also had a fun little Christmas Photo Booth set up.

Grab a drink and walk the River Walk. Great music, friendly bartenders that will fix you up a good drink. Please dont forget to tip your bartenders

Ok ok not the best picture, but this bar really kept me off my phone. It's nothing fancy inside but that's the magic of it, you walk in and have the friendliest bartender, who went beyond serving drinks, giving us out of towners recs. It has a touch tunes so clearly I became a dj & those in the bar didn't seem to mind. The waitress was so sweet she let us take two cups because they said Texas & we fell in love with them. I would be a usual here & def plan on coming back just because of the service!

This is NOT a dive bar! This is a lovely bar in San Antonio that offers a LONG happy hour! Post COVID happy hour ends at 8. STILL worth the walk past the River walk! Every bartender was the sweetest! My girls Carmen and Samantha took excellent care of us! I didn't have to ask for a drink. It's currently the drought of 2022, where the temp exceeds 100 degrees daily...THIS AC BE BLOWIN'! Do yourself a favor. Walk pass the river walk, come here!

It was middle of the day and not crowded. Weird vibe. Bartender didn't seem interested.

They picked me out at 2 at subzero temperatures even thought I had a ride coming. Most bars would let you wait inside if you have an Uber or Lyft coming. They over served me then pushed me to drive home

LOVED this place! The first server was cool af but the second server named Sam went a tad bit over her limit and asked multiple times for her tip (even though we ALWAYS TIP 20%+) BUT will not be going back. Great customers!

This is what you'd expect from your local dive bar! Drinks were cheap, ambiance sort of dark, and drinks were good but nothing out of the ordinary. We came mostly for the happy hour - that was one negative - the happy hour is no longer what their website advertises - it now ends at 8pm.

Was in the area looking for a place to drink decided to check this place out. The service was great and drinks were good, I think the bartender name was tori. Definitely recommend.

A staple bar of downtown! Somewhere you can order a rumple shot at 2 p.m. and not be judged. If you're ever gonna pre game start here and you'll end here. Vibes,music and a San Antonio welcoming Sam and tori made me feel so welcomed !

Love this place! Awesome staff and several choices of draft beers. They also have an awesome whiskey & agave selection with some hard to find bottles on the shelf. Always have a good time at Drink TEXAS!

Stopped in here for a relaxing happy hour drink while in San Antonio on 5/29/19. Great prices, good drinks, chill vibe, great location. HOWEVER ... we closed the tab and gave the gal behind the bar a 20% tip. Fair enough. We get back home and review all our transactions in our bank account from the trip and found out the gal behind the bar gaver herself a TWENTY DOLLAR TIP. $20 !!!!! What should have (and we though was) a total bill of $26.25 ended up being $46.25 that was debited from our bank account. Oh ... and we reported this to our bank to have it investigated. We just received the letter from the bank that our account has been credited the $20 extra she gave herself. Buyer beware. Check your bank accounts after you leave this place. Enough said..............

So I came in to have a drink at around 0140 ish on a Saturday to have a vodka tonic before they closed and the bartender served me and I was chilling before closing time when the DJ kept asking who I was and he didn't know me. After the third or fourth time he asked me in spanish I finally replied in spanish I don't know who you are either and I got asked by a manager or owner to leave...... buenos tiempos. Estaba buscando un lugar que toca musica español para mis amigos visitando de mexico pero no oviamente lo encontre. Que triste discrimasion.

Spent most of last Saturday at Drink Texas with some friends watching college football games. Kelsey was amazing! There were 20 of us in our extremely loud, needy, and inebriated group and she really made us feel at home. I would highly recommend Drink Texas, especially when Kelsey is working!!!

We walked all around the river walk looking for bars that weren't super packed that served Mexican Candy Shots (which I highly recommend trying!). We came across Drink Texas, they weren't super crowded for a Saturday night, which was nice. The music was good and we got our drinks!

Happy Hour Times: M-F 2pm-9pm Weekends 4pm-9pm Happy Hour Prices: $2.50 wells, $4 crown and jack, $3.5 Irish car bombs for St. Patrick's Day Alright y'all. All you need to know about how many times I've frequented this place is that within a few day I became the Duchess. Don't judge. The bright side of that is that because I came by so many times, I got to see the different bartenders at different times to compare consistency. If you want a cheap happy hour place that lasts a considerable time, Drink Texas is your place. I will say it's a hit or miss when it comes to how strong your drinks are or whether or not the soda is flat. HOWEVER it's only $2.50 and you get drunk either way so there's not much to complain about. The place is divey but clean. There's ample seating - couches, tall tables, bar seats, etc. They definitely could care less about why you're there as long as you're a paying patron. That is nice when you're just catching up with friends over some cheap drinks. Drink Texas is also centrally located in terms of Downtown San Antonio so if you're ever in the area, this is a place I'd definitely recommend! Note there are "bar snacks" here but I definitely wouldn't recommend them unless you're starving.

We stayed in San Antonio for three days and every day, we came to Drink Texas for happy hour. On weekdays their happy hour is from 2pm-9pm and on weekends it's 4pm-9pm. Well drinks are $2.50 which is a pretty sweet deal! They also had $4 crown drinks. On one of the days the soda was flat which didn't make the drink taste good at all but the other two days it was fine. The drinks are also not the strongest (they don't give a full shot for some drinks) but for the price it's a little hard to complain. They also had St. Patrick's Day specials which included $4 Irish car bombs. I've never had one before so I enjoyed drinking it for the first time. This place is not known for their food so if you're expecting fine dining you're at the wrong place. I heard the waitress even saying that their snacks are microwaved so make sure you eat somewhere else and come here for the cheap drinks. This is definitely bookmarked for my next trip to San Antonio!

We got a groupon and decided to try it out. We sat at the bar and bartender walked by twice didnt say a word. Only 8 people in the place but she was busy talking to guys at opposite end of the bar. So i called the bar and she answered! I told her you walked by us twice are we going to get any service? We ordered food and drinks. The cook brought out food , trays , etc... ..and asked if we needed anything else. The bartender never talked to use again until i asked for tab. We were going to stay and have a few drinks but WAS NEVER asked if we wanted another one so we left!

Great happy hour. $4 dollar crown and jack was awesome! Great flyer of mixed drink options. Great bartenders and a great TouchTunes juke box to play the jams. Place doesn't have food so eat before or after! Great place to bring friends and hang during happy hour!

Happy hour until 9pm! We went in on a Sunday night so it was pretty dead / empty but no complaints here. The bartender was friendly and attentive. I recommend the $4 Jack and coke / Crown and coke over the $2.50 well drinks. Definitely a good stop to grab a few drinks before heading over to the Riverwalk [walking distance] since drinks are cheaper and stronger!

All the ladies were kissing on me I love this bar so much . I love to play the jukebox and watch the girls dance . The drinks are delicious as are the Scooby snacks

I love the atmosphere here, but I am only a beer drinker so I can't comment on the mixed drinks or the wine selection. I do enjoy the atmosphere, and as someone else stated, they don't seem to have a dress code - but I see this as a PLUS! The leather couches and the decor present a pretty swank environment, but don't let this fool you. My crew and I have gone in there in shorts and t-shirts in the summer time and we fit right in. Prices are ok for the touristy location that it is in, but they still manage to keep it real. I would recommend this place to locals as well as out of towners.

For once I decided not to follow any yelp reviews and took my chances into unchartered territory. I wasn't really in the mood to do the touristy thing near the riverwalk and not knowing what to find on a cold Sunday night, I was pleased to stumble across Drink - a warm, low-key spot where I could get my drink on. It's a small place, but the walls are decorated with paintings from local artists while some eclectic/indie music plays in the background. They also set up a projector showing ESPN on the wall which was showing a football game. I chatted up with the bartenders, Roger and Olive, and some of the locals that frequent the bar. The drink prices are average and although they didn't have much of a wine list, I was informed that it changes frequently based on supply and demand. The place was kind of empty at around 9:30pm but it soon filled up quickly when it got closer to 11:00pm. The age range seems to hover around 25. The locals said that this place gets pretty packed on Friday and Saturdays nights, but for what it's worth I kind of liked the chill atmosphere on Sunday.

Went to San Antonio about 2 months ago and I enjoyed this place. We ended up here 2 nights in a row because they are one of the few places with a daily hh. The bartenders were nice and the prices were good. Bathrooms could use some improvement but it is a chill bar and I'd definitely visit again if I go to San Antonio anytime soon.

We lounged on the sofa, enjoyed the affordable drinks, appreciated the proximity to our Riverwalk location.

Best bar for minors in SA, just say you forgot your ID! When it came time to close our tab, they tacked on $40 to what should have been a $30 tab, and when my friend confronted the owner he said "sorry, we've already refunded too many drinks today" then proceeded to say "it's a business, get out and don't come back" (on his birthday too) The poor bartender knew that he didn't order those drinks but couldn't do anything about it because the owner wouldn't approve the refund. If I were allowed to go back, I'd bring all my 20 y/o friends in for a quick drink at this awesome local spot!

Wow. Breathtakingly horrible. Don't go. I went there at 3:45 on a Thursday looking to have a beer or two. No happy hour because of some random reason I didn't understand. No big problem, I figured. But then they keep turning up the volume on the music until no one can hear or talk. Remember, it's 4 pm, not midnight. Also I had to go to the bar to get a drink even though the place was pretty empty. So, literally no service. Then the check! Almost $20 for two tap beers! Jesus. You couldn't pay more than that anywhere in this city! Total rip off. A skanky, dirty, horrible place.

Walked in looking for a cold drink and could not get passed the smell of bathrooms permeating throughout the entire bar. Worse than a stairwell going to a NY subway because you expect to drink or consume food and beverage in a bar whereas in a stairway to a subway you expect the stench. Raise your standards Drink Texas or get an outsider to do a sniff test. You guys might be TOO USED to it. The smell is really unacceptable.

I love this place!!! It has a super great location and is like the one place I can find without getting lost downtown. Then environment is so much fun I try and introduce many of my friends to this bar vs the other over priced/over crowded bars in downtown San Antonio They have some super fun drinks that I'm obsessed with, but my favorite thing would be the events!! They're so unique and fun! I hate missing them. The management is phenomenal and makes you feel like family, as well as the bartenders. I never go out, but if I do it's to Drink Texas

Walk into this place as a tourist with a couple of co-workers. As soon as we sat down a young lady came and sat down with us and stated that she was sitting with us and asked if we would mind. She suddenly stated she would bring some friends over to sit with us as well. It was very awkward. She was friendly enough but we were unsure if she wanted her and her girlfriends to sit with us so we could buy them drinks or maybe something else? Either way it was very uncomfortable and we left right away. She basically scared us off! Don't think we'll be back for the rest of our stay.

It was a cool spot... but they kicked me out to wait for my Uber in the rain and when I asked if I could be let back in he was a complete and total asshole... I try to give the benefit of the doubt to most places but he was extremely rude. So sad if he realized what customer service should look like.
