HORRIBLE SERVICE AND PEST My friend and I arrived at bar drinkerie for a drink. Once we got our drinks, we noticed a mouse running out the restaurant. We saw it multiple times. We alerted the waitress Erica and she said « there are mice in every restaurant in Montreal ». I responded that I had lived here for the past 10 years and never seen a mouse running around a restaurant. We asked if there was any way we could get a discount or our drinks as free for the inconvenience. She responded that it was not possible and that she « did not care if this place got shut down ». I have never been in a restaurant that treated health and safety with such disregard and its customers with this little respect. I would not recommend this bar under any conditions.

The moment you enter, you feel like you're in a proper bar. Basic cocktails, drinks and beers. One thing I liked about this place was that it offered me a good Lager beer from Quebec, Cette Sortela. Out of all the 5-6 major bars, I've been in Quebec City and Montreal, they only had these. The place is calm and most importantly the beer is not overpriced unlike few other places. I recommend you to go this place, with group of friends after having a food, to drink, chat and enjoy 😊

Google
Not a bad bar at all! Little loud but then again it's a bar. The drink selection is pretty nice and the staff was great as welll Would visit again sometime!

Google
Terrible place. Someone’s long bitten off finger nail was on the menu, not folded menu, a single sheet. Just had a beer and left. Beer was good “Fue de Joie”

Google
Good place for nice cocktails. Nice vibes, a little loud but its the same at most cocktail bars like this.

A friend invited us for a get together. I enjoyed their cocktail choices and a very fine portobello mushroom burger. The ambiance is of a college bar

Yelp
Chef Danny is a sweetheart and is so passionate with each delicious plate he creates. I had the pleasure of brunching with them Saturday and my mind was blown. The jenga hashbrowns with the homemade ranch! Drool worthy Loved the breakfast poutine The hamburger meat was minced twice so it's so smooth and perfect

Yelp
As far as hipster spots go I actually really like this one. They've split the 2 sections now, now one side is the restaurant and the other half is the bar, you can still order food at the bar but they've split the sections into two distinct areas now that only staff can pass between the black curtain separating. It's a shame because I preferred drinking on the now-resto side. Service is decent, nothing spectacular, again I found service on the now-resto side previously better than the service we received at the bar side. Again it's a shame cuz the bartenders on the now-resto side were fkin awesome: tailored drinks and personal caring customer service. Whereas the bar side was just typical 'here's your drink you ordered' nothing more nothing less. What I do really like about this place is I tend to like almost every single cocktail I order here. They change the list regularly so that's fun too 'cuz always new options to choose from. It is pricey and unfortunately the alcohol content is maybe not as strong as one might like for that price point. However, it does allow to try many many drinks in one sitting without becoming a total drunken a-hole so not necessarily a bad thing. Here's a list of all the drinks I've tried here so far and I've adored almost every one of them and would definitely order again: - Frank sinatra - Trinidad sour - Paper plane - "Gina And Cucumber" shooters - Bloody Caesar: steak spice rim for this one is awesome - Nina Simmone - Pinky Swear: meh good hit the spot, but probably the most disappointing of all drinkerie drinks ive had - Redwine: Pepperwood Grove Cab Sauv 12$ good but not worth inflated price for a glass - Cidre Dublin's Pub: delicious!!! My favorite cidre ever so far. - Martini Lychee: hit the spot not their forte but I was craving one and it did the trick. It's not a place I choose first, but I like comin here every few months to enjoy a few cocktails in a chill vibe and hope they don't close anytime soon.

Yelp
Ambiance top notch. Staff is awesome. Béer could be better but minor point compared to the dynamics this place brings up at night until close.

Yelp
Nice space. Good drink menu and th service was wonderfully consistent. Love the plants

Yelp
A great spot to have one or two drinks. We had a softball game nearby park, as part of the crowd, I came early sine I came post work, therefore to kill time, my friend and I went for a drink. The place is spacious; it has a rustic look. The waitress and the Barman are super nice and friendly. The service is efficient and quick. They also have a small food menu. I enjoyed my short time that I was in this bar.

Yelp
We stopped here after realizing that Village de Noel de Montreal would be a swarm of college kids and lines to anything popular to getting to, we walked down Notre Dame St to find something to eat or drink. Surely enough, we should've made reservations somewhere but this was a spontaneous trip to check it out and ended up in an area of cool interest. Anyway, this was a fun bar where we devoured a few glasses of Irish Whiskey and American Bourbon to our delight from being in the cold and having to get back into it afterwards. Once inside, there was a warm, almost candlelit environment inside and the noise level wasn't terribly loud for such a full bar. We were able to grab a table next to a floor to ceiling window that overlooked a park next door. Also we actually had a bartender who checked in on us frequently even though there were people all around us. This made an indecisive night on what to do/eat/drink turn into a pleasant moment where we left all that frustration at the door and enjoyed the moment. Thanks for that!

Yelp
I've relied on Drinkerie for many years: before St Henri and Little Burgundy had so many options, this place was among the only ones with a happy hour and anything to drink under ten bucks (with house pints, no less). Additionally, the snacks here have always been great- seriously, try the olives: they're fresh AF. Newly they also have a full vegan menu in a neighbourhood that generally falls flat on that sort of thing. For all that, I'm grateful. Why Drinkerie isn't a top fave for me is really the crowd- consistently this place hosts the loudest and most pretentious of the neighbourhood (realistically, I'm not sure it's people who even live in the neighbourhood). In the past I've gotten inappropriate comments for bringing female dates here, which only brings me to think that the majority of the patrons are not of the polite 20th century progressive-types. Generally, the staff is slammed, so service varies pretty widely, depending on when you go. Long story short- stop by early when it's quiet for a pint and a snack but beware the later crowds.

Yelp
Location: On Notre-Dame West, not too far from Lionel-Groulx metro. You'll find street parking on Notre-Dame but it's metered (past 9 p.m. is free) or free parking on some of the residential streets. Check the zoning. The place: I got the local bar feel when I walked in: super cozy and casual, with a fairly open layout (meaning that you don't feel like a sardine). Warm ambiance and laidback vibe. I like it. The goods: I ordered Le Mur à Mures and it was DEE-LICIOUS! My date ordered an Old-fashion with some high-end whiskey or whatever one uses to make Old-fashions. He thoroughly enjoyed his drink and promptly ordered a 2nd. I really don't think you can go wrong with cocktails here. If I wasn't driving, I would've had a 2nd, too! Service: Great - we were greeted when we walked in and our waitress was really friendly. Price point: I let the beardo pick up the tab - I think it came out to about $40 for 3 drinks.

Yelp
Full name is Drinkerie Ste.Cunégonde! Love this bar! Friendly staff and great drinks! Yager bombs!

Yelp
Fun place! I came around 11 pm- place was a bit crowded but still managed to find seats. Drink selection was ok. I tried their beet feta salad for a try -it was ok, didn't end up finishing it all. Our waitress/ bartender Maude was a sweet heart- great service - very much recommend her. The highlights of my night was the DJ play list - great old school tracks for those that like classic R&B hip hop bests. Be warned: the bathroom was GROSS! Unisex bathrooms are never a go for me- small confined - people had urinated in a corner wall with no urinal - completely appalled. Hold it if you have to or go to a McDonald's!

Shiran B.

Yelp
I haven't been here in literally 6 years! So much has changed lol! But great place to get a drink , the service was very quick and on the ball so that's a huge plus when you typically go to a bar!

Dessi V.

Yelp
Nice bar, friendly service, relaxed vibes. The recent cocktail list is color oriented and a little bit difficult to follow, I ended up trying the Mr Green mix and it was decent. The bar tenders will anyway fix whatever drink you want in case you are in a mood for something that is not on the menu. We ended up with simple choices, gin tonic and bloody Caesar, they were basic and tasty mixes, which had an appropriate amount of alcohol. Need something to snack on, there are charcuterie and cheese platters, hummus and other goodies on the food menu. They also pick good visiting beers, if you haven't had the Beau's summer stout yet rush right to Drinkerie today for a pint, you may end up complementing your visit with a Mr Red or Purple cocktail too!

Yelp
Friday night... 1am. Music is pumping. Good music? Not sure. Wow! They just raised the volume like it is a discotheque, but it is not. The DJ is probably high in his headphone. I am glad that this 60 years old guy who has hearing problems ( like I seriously do) is seating near the window; the farthest away from the music. He can at least hear one word on twenty. But again, the fact that the continuous construction on Notre-Dame is not going on at night is also an avantage. Conclusion: not a good place to be alone at on a Friday night. Looking forward for other reviews. Not from some of the dickheads hanging here. You I will definitely come back here with a friend and do another more rational review.

Yelp
This is the place that you can go in the middle of the week and enjoy :) it is really huge bar . The cocktails are delicious

Yelp
Cute and chill ambiance. Welcoming waitress. Interesting cocktails and drinks. I trie the crème brûlée - of course a pub won't have the best - but wasn't very good (tasted powdery). Cute presentation though. Will go back, but won't order the cb.

Yelp
Great spot ! Exciting dishes ! This is my first yelp review ever and I have been on from the beginning

Virginia L.

Yelp
This bar is great for an evening catch up with old friends. The atmosphere is laid back and the crowd is mostly made up of young professionals living in the brand new condos of Griffintown. When I went the food was mediocre and the staff was slightly slow. Most of the time they were at the bar talking to each other rather than tending to their tables. Otherwise this place is fine, but not date worthy.

Angela H.

Yelp
Nice little bar, I came here with a friend a few nights ago just for drinks so I can't comment on any of the food on their menu... I like the friendly, low key, casual atmosphere, the crowd is a good mix of mid 20's to early 30's I would say, and they do have a nice selection of scotch, whiskey, and bourbon which is always a plus! The music is good, none of the teeny bopper pop music which is great, but I would say it's a bit on the loud side, I would have preferred it they turned it down a little bit so that I didn't have to scream through my conversation with my friend across a two person table. I really did enjoy having drinks here, although $12 for an old fashioned is a little on the pricey side... Especially when I had more than one haha

Mr. E.

Yelp
Cute place, nicely laid out. In order for them to be a success they need to fine tune a few things. Like the mixed drinks being a bit stronger 1 oz of alcohol. Everyone complained the drinks were weak. The staff is dressed like they are spring cleaning their apt. The staff always sets the lead for the clientele they will attract. Major bug for our group is that you have to pay right away after every order! What are they running a nice place or a tavern. Making clients pay every order on the spot is totally counter productive to them running up a nice bill!

Yelp
We stumbled into this place randomly on a badly planned Friday night as we were walking down Notre Dame looking for a place to take 6 people.. La Drinkerie, as the name hints, is a place for drinking.. Ie. a bar. So do not, under any circumstance, come here thinking that you will get good (or even mediocre) food. Unfortunately, we happened to be starving and order a bunch of food off the menu. Our table tried a couple salads, beef ribs, pork, and the smoked meat sandwich... All with a size of coleslaw and chips... I wouldn't be exaggerating if I told you that the chips were the best thing we ate.. Everything we ordered seriously had no taste at all! Everything. It was so disappointing to eat food that looked good but really had no flavor whatsoever.. And it was every dish... So either the chef doesn't try what he's serving, or they don't actually care what the food tastes like because after all this is a bar, and we should be thankful that they serve something to eat in the first place... On the drinking end, they had a large menu, but we stuck with a few bottles of wine so can't really comment on the drinks.. Although if the cocktails are anything like the food, I'm glad we didn't try any..........

Risa D.

Yelp
I like it here, especially tucked into the big raised comfy couch booth in the back where I can chat with the charming French waiters, watch the rest of the action as it unfolds and generally hide out. Beer, wine and cocktails are fairly priced and the cocktails I've tried were strong and well made. I ordered a smoked meat sandwich that was delicious, but given that it came with plain chips out of the bag $12 seemed a little steep, but the extra pickle I asked for was massive and delicious so honestly I'd forgive them anything.

Aaron M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere drinks where cheap and generous service was ok at best. Cheers you should definitely try it out

Rawan K.

Yelp
Old-school feel, charming bartender(s), good music, and great drinks for a fair price! Happy hour runs from 3-10 ;) whutuuuup! At night, this place gets dim and seductive, I totally dig it. Awesome place to hangout with friends and catch up, the banquettes in the back make for the perfect spot to do that. Don't come here for food unless you'll be satisfied with small bites to eat, this place is a drinkerie first and foremost. They have pretty bomb pickles, jussayin'.

Yelp
This is a casual , reasonably priced and fun place on notre dame to grab a drink and enjoy happy hour ! Nice for a casual date or a night out with friends without breaking the bank. The decor inside is cozy and rustic. We sat outside as a group of 8 and had a fun time. The drinks were priced fairly , although service was a little slow and unattentive. However, they were still pleasant and did not forget our orders, they just didnt really check in on us very much. I had Le Wild thing which was pretty good , not too strong and not too sweet, the cocktail was very evenly balanced. However, i also had Le Juice and found that it was way too bitter and citrusy and I couldnt finish it , a few people at the table ordered it too and felt the same way. While this wouldnt be my first choice for a place to grab a drink, I definitely wouldnt be opposed to coming back. This was not a bad experience by any means but it also does not measure up to some of the other options available in montreal for cocktails/drinks and happy hour.

Yelp
I've had many a merry night at this place. It can be beers with workmates, or fancy-shmancy drinks with friends - it's all good here. They have a few beers on tap (all good), but it's mainly a cocktail place. The place is nicely decked-out, and there always seems to be a good vibe going on. It can get busy on the weekend nights (Thursday to Saturday), but rarely as busy as The Lion down the road, which is another good thing about this place. During the day it's pretty chilled, and can be a good place to catch up with mates - in the evenings it gets loud (as you would expect any busy place), but not in a bad way. I've had their charcuterie plate here, and it was simple but tasty.

Kevin W.

Yelp
A really fun place to have drinks on a weekend. Well stocked bar with God cocktail menu. Well located near some great restaurants and a concert hall. The atmosphere is usually pretty good (it's always loud due to the acoustics so don't go here if you plan to have deep conversations!).

Alex P.

Yelp
Love this bar go there all the time, great staff great drinks, and a chill atmosphere! Wouldn't go there for the food, not saying it's bad it's just not food oriented. And there are many great food joints in this neighborhood.

Pj G.

Yelp
Los Angeles Meets Montreal Epic night! This place rocks! Happened to walk in was early for a dinner reservation near here. These guys made me and my man feel like we were family and been coming to see them for years. Drinks are great ! Service is fun and friendly , lots of fun clientele to chat it up with. Cant wait to get back and party with ya all again . Thank you for a wonderful time!

Yelp
This review is based entirely on my bar and drink experience. My sister and I were looking for a place to grab a drink and chat so we decided to drop by and try out La Drinkerie since it seemed to be a very happening place on a Friday night. It was very convenient that La Drinkerie was walking distance to her home and open late. The ambience of the restaurant was nice very modern and urban chic. It was very trendy in my opinion. I decided to order a dirty martini and my sister ordered a Tipperary. We asked the bartender if they had vermouth and green chartreuse for her drink and so she said yes. She later came back to us saying no she did not have any vermouth or chartreuse so we changed our order to a plain and simple Jameson soda. Maybe it was a miscommunication or she didn't hear us since it was quite loud in the restaurant. No big deal. Later on the other hand, we were literally appalled when the martini came as it was given to me in a glass that was less than half full. Apparently, the bartender insisted that is how they serve and make their martinis (gave me a look) and in return offered to make me a different drink. It was an embarrassing experience and I probably will not go back the next time I come to Montreal to visit even though the patrons next to us ordered a charcuterie plate that looked quite delicious.

P D.

Yelp
Great place while we wait for our reservation at Joe Beef down the street ! Nice servers and s great time !

Cesar J.

Yelp
Nice bar with good music (not commercial music). We had some whiskey and scotch form their large collection.

Tanya G.

Yelp
Service was awful. Waitress had a seriously bad attitude. Wouldn't let us run a tab so each of us (party of 5) had to individually pay for drinks as they arrived...which took an unacceptably long time! Waitresses were leaning on the bar and chatting with each other as we sat with empty glasses in front of us. When I commented on the bad service and refused to tip on the last drink, the waitress tore off my credit card receipt and threw it in my face. NEVER. AGAIN. There are lots of other very nice places with great service to spend my $$

Julia D.

Yelp
This is a decent place to come for happy hour. The ambiance is quite nice and it wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday at 6. The cocktails were a little watered down and overly sweet however they also have beers on tap as well as a good wine selection so that probably would be a better bet. Foodwise they have a handful of menu items which are pretty good but nothing to write home about.

Jessica L.

Yelp
This place gets PACKED! Impressive. Love love love the gin + twigs or whatever it was called....darn. Essentially a gin and tonic, but with bitters and/or Campari and some rosemary with a twist. As you can tell, I enjoyed more than one that evening! Also nice are the snacks; roasted nuts, hummus, olives, cheese. Stuff you actually want to much on while having a drink. The crowd was a little older, with a good mix of people. DJ was a little...cheesy. However, it was a nice evening, and even though I was there with only my partner, it felt somehow romantic and cozy, and party-like all at once.

Kat T.

Yelp
Wine, Cheese, Whiskey and Port. Well drinks are in the 6.50 range. La Drinkerie has a good looking, typical Montreal crowd. Nobody is too young, The wait staff are all fun and friendly. This is maybe not a destination drink spot, since the best drinks are those poured direct from bottles or containers without any fussing over them. But, this is the perfect night-cap or pre-dinner spot.

Jorej Z. E.

Yelp
This is such a favorite part of town and it was crazy fun to spend a few hours drinking beer and enjoying all the party people here last night. The place felt very cosy and like I said this part of Montreal has a certain something that is very special. I am happy to have found a new place in this area. Fun.

Ti G.

Yelp
Generous pours, good red wine list, and service with excellent eye contact. Just what the Hen needs.

Emilie B.

Yelp
Definitely a place where I keep coming back. The ambiance is lay-back but trendy. The drinks are excellent: amherst and rezyn are my favourites. Have a bite before coming, they have small appetizers: good for a snack, not enough for a meal.

J A.

Yelp
3.5. cool spot to grab a drink with real good music. food service was incredibly slow. charcuterie plate was average. would come back for a late night drink to check out the scene.
