Riverfront Park is one of Columbia’s greatest assets. This 2.5-mile greenway along the Congaree River and the historic Columbia Canal is my go-to place for running, walking, or just clearing my head. The paved path is wide, well-maintained, and mostly flat, making it accessible for everyone. The views of the river, the rocky shoals, and the city skyline are stunning, especially at sunrise or sunset. The historical markers detailing the area's significance, from Native American history to the industrial use of the canal, add a fascinating educational element. I often see people fishing, kayaking, and birdwatching. It’s a fantastic place for a long bike ride or to walk your dog. The park is clean, safe, and beautifully integrates nature with the city's history. It’s a peaceful retreat right in the middle of everything, showcasing Columbia’s commitment to outdoor recreation and preserving its natural beauty.

For me this is where my coffee snob journey started. First off the coffee is exceptionally high quality and their pour over recipe is very dialed in and delicious ☕. The food is outstanding, I've had a few sweets and sandwiches from there and it's outclassed a few restaurants every single time. The staff are incredibly friendly and talkative, and the place has a nice feel to it. But in all fairness I do have a couple complaints. The first being that the place is usually pretty loud thanks to the influx of college students, and the vibe that some people give off isn't very friendly or welcoming. It has a very political vibe if you get what I mean. The second thing isn't their fault and infact they work against it, but the parking here sucks A LOT. Other than those two things though this is a wonderful spot to get a great cup of coffee and hang out.

Google
Great coffee, funky coffeehouse- a fun little place to get your morning caffeine. It gets popular/crowded because they take their time to craft your beverage and lots of people love it!

This is such a cool place! When I walked in, I felt like I was transported back in time, and I mean that in the best way possible! The ambiance was straight out of a 1970s or 80s movie, and the staff was very friendly and helpful as well. It wasn't the greatest bagel and coffee I've ever had, but it wasn't very expensive so it doesn't really matter. I would 10/10 recommend Drip Coffee, and I'd like to come back with friends soon!

Google
I had breakfast around the corner and had time to kill and along my stroll I found this coffee shop next to a gelato shop. When I first entered it was welcoming. Very smooth atmosphere. Coffee smelt great so I got a Carmel macchiato and a fruit bowl. Fruit bowl had cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple tossed in lemon juice and honey. Everything was good up until the pineapple tasted as if it was from a can. The coffee was so smooth and not very sugary. I sat at the bar. Place definitely gets busy and the music choice was stellar. The fact that they also have a Vinyl player is amazing. Keep up the work. Have time check it out.

Google
Small, busy high end coffee shop. We didn't eat, but got a variety of coffee drinks, from a traditional black pour over to a latte with flavors, all were excellent. Good assortment of styles and sources of coffee. Staff knowledge about their craft and take the time to do it right. If in the area highly recommend.

Google
Super cute coffee shop giving san Francisco vibes. Upbeat but not loud and just well kept/run. The coffee is really delicious and the mocha was on point. It is a slower service mostly due to how many locals hang here. It is a college town so expect to sit a minute or two for your order or you can order ahead for pick up!

Google
I’ve only gone to Drip a handful of times but I love their strawberry lemonade (I know it’s weird to get something other than a coffee at a coffee shop) but it’s great. I will say though this time that I went (10.23) the lemonade had something weird on the bottom and I’m not sure what it is. But it’s still tasty nonetheless. On another note I did get their Cheddar Garlic Basil scone and I will say it wasn’t my taste, it was a bit sweeter than what I was expecting for a savory scone, but other than that the service was great.

Yelp
Drip is one of those spots that blends energy and comfort. Right near the USC campus, it's usually busy with people studying or catching up with friends but it never feels too loud or chaotic. It's a great spot to get some work done or meet up for a casual chat. The menu is solid with plenty of options. I had a honey vanilla latte and it was very good! The scones are also a highlight, they usually have different flavors to choose from and all are very tasty. Whether you're working, chatting, or just passing through, Drip has the kind of vibe that makes you want to stay a while.

Yelp
Finally got to try out Drip, and it was worth the hype! On a Sunday morning, the line to order was out the door. I downloaded their app to look at the menu while I waited, but it was missing a ton of items compared to the one on their website. The interior was cozy, with lots of art on the walls and an additional room of seating in the back. I ordered an Iced Honey Habanero Latte and Brie & Apricot Jam Sandwich at the counter, and was given a number to take back to my table. Service wasn't the fastest, but they were very much slammed. The Iced Honey Habanero Latte was very tasty. I was glad I got an extra shot of espresso in it, because it wouldn't have been strong enough without it. I could still taste the honey flavor though, and the slight kick from the habanero. The Brie & Apricot Jam Sandwich was awesome! It's usually made with fig jam instead, but they had run out. The brie was so melty, the flavors went together perfectly, and I loved the toasted cranberry walnut bread. Overall, a great coffee shop for when you're not in a rush. Would return to try more items!

Yelp
This is a very busy place on a Saturday (we went around 1pm). My sister ordered an oat milk cortado, a lemon blueberry vegan scone, and a vegan breakfast sandwich. My mom and I both chose the regular breakfast sandwich (egg and white cheddar with honey). I also got two white cheddar peppercorn scones to go. The scones are all absolutely delicious! My sister approved of the vegan breakfast sandwich, and the portion was very generous.

Yelp
Popular! Long lines at places like this are ALWAYS promising IMHO. I wasn't disappointed! The egg and mozzarella biscuit was savory and flavor packed. The large house coffee was a pour over, and rich in aroma. Distinct notes of fresh roasted beans and acidity. Indoor - table and bar seats available, outdoor seating is dog friendly. Inside feel was record store meets coffee shop with a kitchen. Very hip and obviously popular. Was not disappointed! Value was on par for quality and quantity of food which is good. Not cheap but neither is overall experience. Would absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a unique breakfast place.

Yelp
YUM! I can't wait to be back in Columbia just to go to Drip. The service was very accommodating and helpful when deciding what to order. The menu was unique but not overwhelming. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and a bagel breakfast sandwich. Their bagels are UNIQUE. Definitely homemade. They're more crunchy than the fluffy bagel you'd expect, but I actually liked it! The chai was THE BEST I've had. (I usually get coffee, but wanted to try something different!) I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Great little coffee spot in 5 points. Very friendly staff and fair prices. We went both days we were in town!

Yelp
Probably one of the best coffees I've had lately! Honey vanilla latte is delicious. I might need to stop by every time I come up to Columbia. Very cute spot and lots of places to walk around to. Staff were very friendly and upbeat. Everyone was smiling and seems to enjoy working there.

Yelp
This atmosphere in this location is very calming. Came to do some work and grab a coffee and it's just great. Very nice staff and a great selection of coffees and drinks. I did t realize I was here an hour doing work. This is a must do coffee experience in Columbia.

Shannon K.

Yelp
The menu is unimpressive, pricey for the amount and base coffee tasted bitter. The person making all the drinks was quite busy and the prep area looked unclean/messy.... The lavender matcha lemonade was over powered by the lemonade. Definitely felt like we could've spent our $17 somewhere else
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Such a cool place with amazing coffee AND food! The wait was out the door and worth it. I couldn't believe the coffee was under $5 for a large! Highly recommend the smoked caramel drink & Bre/fig sandwich. The pork belly sandwich biscuit was small and only had one slice of pork, which was good but underwhelming.

Yelp
Drip was highly rated everywhere I looked but my experience today was a little disappointing. I came here to have a good long study session only to find out parking is only for 2hrs (which is fine, not their fault). I walked in and I liked the rustic vibe. It seemed like a hang out place more than for studying/working. I got the honey habanero latte which sounded really interesting but I just ended up with burnt coffee. I could barely taste the habanero flavor because the burnt espresso took over in terms of flavor. It was $5.15 for a medium (12oz) which I feel is overpriced, especially for burnt coffee. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back here....time to continue my coffee shop hunt :(

Catherine F.

Yelp
Funky 90s vibe there are vinyl records in the back and fun art in the wall. There's even a coffee bar to hang out and chat up the baristas. Plenty of places to hang out and great coffee!

Scott C.

Yelp
I drove an hour to try the coffee today. I got a café mocha. It was fantastic. I actually ended up getting two. Great atmosphere great service thank you !

Yelp
I was told that Drip was IT, THE SPOT, A MUST! My first attempt to grab a cold brew from here was a fail, as it was a busy morning and the line was literally out the door. I had no time to wait and decided to check out a different place. When I finally did get my cold brew, it was just an okay experience. A good cup of brew, but certainly not worth the wait. It was a another busy day. Looks like a great place to meet with friends, grab a bite, or get some work/reading done. I will have to give it another shot if/when I'm in Columbia again. Parking is not great here. If no luck in the parking spaces on the street, then try the end of the street. There's a parking lot. I didn't see any signs restricting parking.

Yelp
This spot is the place to get a cup of coffee/tea! It's in Five Points, a cute, young part of town with boutiques, bars, and restaurants. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a record store connected on one side.

Yelp
Drip is my favorite coffee shop of all time. From catching up with friends, to long study sessions, their space fits all types of activities. As for their coffee, it is worth every penny! And their food is served fresh & with a kind demeanor from the staff. My favorite items from them are the impossible burger, turmeric ginger latte, & that matcha lemonade. Couldn't recommend them more!

Robert S.

Yelp
Slowest service ever! OMG...waited almost 20 minutes for a biscuit sandwich that was barely decent... Coffee was served barely warm so I ordered it a second time and waited forever for that...

Yelp
Wonderful coffee shop w/ an assortment different varietals and roasts, creative and tasty sandwiches, jamming music, a friendly staff, and good vibes all around.

Yelp
delicious hot chocolate and cute decorations! great place to stop by at five points. love it!

Olivia D.

Yelp
Service is lovely, vibes are timeless. Coffee is classic. Best local coffee in Columbia so far

Anke R.

Yelp
Best coffee I found in town. Every time I get a a chance I have their latte. Also love their salmon bagel.

Jess R.

Yelp
Funky and cozy atmosphere, delicious food and coffee! Service was good and barista was kind.

Yelp
We stopped in Drip a couple times when in town. Our go to was their iced Bourbon Vanilla Oat latte. Service was always fast and friendly!

Yelp
I've been going to Drip for years and no one does it like they do! Service, coffee, and food have been consisted over the last five years I've lived here and anytime I have friends visit, this is where I take them! Their inside is perfect for meeting with a friend or doing a little bit of work. The baristas are the best.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
This place is great for studying and some of their coffees are great. I love the service and the scones. I do not recommend the matcha though.

Ashley K.

Yelp
Everything about Drip is phenomenal! I had one of the scones, it was so light and fluffy. It had the perfect crisp outside and soft inside. I also got a latte which was perfect! Not too sweet and absolutely no bitterness. The staff were so kind and friendly. The inside is very unique and welcoming. I highly recommend checking them out!!

Yelp
Such a disappointing visit to Drip yesterday! Wanted to share this place with family from out of town, but unfortunately staff didn't seem to want to help us and were actually quite rude. We thought maybe they were closing soon by their attitude, but when asked we were told Drip would be open for an hour and a half. Parking is always a problem in the area, but Drip was worth circling the lot and if there was a line we'd wait even though Starbucks used to be next door. Guess we'll need to find a new spot. Also thanks to the Dulce Cafe employee that jumped in front of us will keep in mind next time over on Lincoln.

Yelp
I love this place. It's a record shop/ coffee bar. I had a turmeric ginger matcha latte with a tomato basil bagel. The vibe was very cool and relaxed

Yelp
On Sunday, August 20, 2023, at approximately 1527 hours, Nat D. and I, Dante G., responded to Drip located ar 129 Saluda Street, which is located in the jurisidction of the city of Columbia, County of Richland, and state of South Carolina, in reference to identity theft. Upon arrival, we entered the business through thebinward opening door located on the B-side of the business, near the A-B Corner. This is a change from previous visits where the entrance was centrally located on the A Side of the business. That door is now the exit. Please be mindful of keeping the doors closed, the A/C struggles. At thebpointbofnsale, we were met by a cheerful barista with glasses and a green shirt. Nat D. chose an iced matcha latte with ginger and turmeric. I chose an iced honey lavender latte. Both arrived quickly and met the expectations of both. Both drinks were amazing. For those that reside in Charleston and frequented City Lights, this is a bigger version of that Cafe. It was discovered that the former owner of City Lights had sold it and moved to Columbia and opened Drip at Five Points, duplicating the former design. No identity theft was found to have happened, just a sister business. Additional visits recommended. End of Report.

Yelp
This location is crowded for a reason! Great espresso drinks and their seasonal lattes are really yummy. Despite the lines there is plenty of seating and the inside of the shop is a really cute study spot. Only complaint is that parking is really hard to find in this area.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Excellent food and ambience. I had the sun dried breakfast sandwich and jasmine tea. Both were fantastic. It was quite busy at 10:30 am so if arriving at that time be prepared for a wait.

Karen E.

Yelp
Today is my first time visiting Drip and it is so worth it!! The ambiance is so so nice, as well as their service, all the staff is so kind and welcoming. I got a Bolivia drip with hazelnut syrup, a peach cobbler scone and the brie & apricot sandwich and they were delicious!!

Natasha G.

Yelp
I've been a loyal drip customer for many years and I have never experienced the horrible service I witnessed tonight on November 26th. My coworker went in to get us some chai teas at 7:30pm and was informed by one of your employees that we could not receive any drinks made over the counter because apparently you all hadn't had any customers for an hour and so your employees took it upon themselves to shut down the counter and only serve cold brews but they stated we were more than welcome to sit inside. It doesn't make any sense to keep a place open and not serve any other drinks on the menu and not to mention you all close at 10pm. To turn away customers two hours and thirty minutes prior to closing is highly unprofessional and false advertising. This place is slipping!

Mary M.

Yelp
Skip if there's a line. Got an $8 iced chai tea today with oat milk and it came out hot with no milk. Asked them to remake it and they made it cold with again no milk. Waited a long time between each remake and we also got a sparkling water that didn't come out with our order and we had to ask for it twice. So crowded that we can't even get to the counter to ask someone about our order. Usually the food and coffee is good but this place is not worth it when quality goes down with increased traffic.

Yelp
I find myself in Columbia, SC for a meeting and I stopped into drip because of the single origin coffee. I ordered a scone and a large Peru drip coffee and I couldn't be happier. Nice coffee place with lots of seating, cool vibe. Coffee is really flavorful, staff seems friendly, Peru was a good choice, fruity and dark. I also ordered a cranberry scone and I must say, this is one of the best scones I've ever had and I like scones. I highly recommend this place, great coffee and great scones. If I come back here - drip will be my morning stop!!!
google avatar

Yelp
What an awesome location Drip is. It totally reminds me of how a coffee shop truly is inside: people inside talking with cups of coffee, on laptops, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and enjoying the peace and quiet. And Drip is one of the best to enjoy a nice smoothie as well. I would have loved to try some coffee but it was late in the day so I purchased the smoothie as my pick me up and it was so delicious . I'll certainly be back when I come back to Columbia and I'll be sure to get their coffee for sure.

Matt D.

Yelp
Breakfast biscuits are very tasty, I am told the cold brew was also excellent. Friendly service

Yelp
This was another successful find thanks to Yelp. After making a Costco run the next thing on our agenda was to find a good coffee shop and I rather support a local business than go with Starbucks. So that's how we found Drip, it's was such a cute little hipster coffee shop, downtown Columbia just minutes away from the breathtaking University of South Carolina. There was a bit of a line and inside was packed ( which is always a good sign). But service was still pretty fast and very pleasant. I ordered my dad a vanilla latte which he said was really good and it even came with a cool coffee art and i went with a chai latte which was amazing! This was just a fast in and out run but Drip had such an inviting atmosphere, I totally got Pacific NW coffee shop vibes ( with cool artwork and such hung throughout) and their music playlist was on point. I can see why Drop is a local gem.

Bella P.

Yelp
I usually love coming to Drip but it seems to have gone downhill lately. There's always been a lack of gluten free baked goods when coming in anytime after 12:00pm (hard to come in before when I was a student but now I work full-time...) and i've had conversations with employees before and they always just give me a shrug and say "come in earlier", but it's made it worse when I came in after work earlier this week and asked for an iced salted caramel latte because it was a hard week and wanted a treat and what I got was a shitty latte that tasted like it was made with sea water. It was monumentally disappointing considering how I've had great coffees here before but the service was especially crappy and I don't think I'll be coming in again anytime soon

Yelp
We were southbound between Indianapolis and Charleston and pulled up the Yelp app to find a quick and tasty coffee stop: voila, Drip for the win! This spot was bustling on a Sunday morning and parking was fairly easy to find on the street out front. If you dig fun and creative latte flavors like rose and cardamom cappuccino or locally roasted beans, this is your kind of spot. Speaking of that rose and cardamom cappuccino, it was so darned tasty and lovely. I often find rose flavored versions but rarely those that also feature cardamom. A match made in heaven. The prices were what you'd expect for a coffee shop of this nature. The staff was friendly enough. You'll find a handful of baked treats on the counter to accompany your caffeinated creation. The space is somewhat small or maybe it felt that way because it was so busy? One of the standouts from our visit was the fun map-wrapped bathroom in the back.

Mitch K.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop with a small offering of pastries. In a small strip mall/horseshoe shaped. Cars continually roam through so can be very crowded and parking a problem. Exists along with other small cafes and retain stores. Worth a stroll and a seat on a bench to watch people.

Kamryn T.

Yelp
Great food and coffee. Parking can be bad in five points from time to time so take that into account.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Delicious coffee. Cool vibe. Record store attached as well. Will definitely be going back whenever I'm in town.

Erin F.

Yelp
Good coffee, friendly service. We just got drinks, no food, but it was a fun vibe and would go back.
google avatar

Katherine H.

Yelp
My absolute favorite place in Columbia, if I could only ever go to one coffee shop again I would be completely ecstatic going to Drip! They have a delicious homemade honey vanilla syrup that tastes amazing in any drink you could get. The matcha latte and vanilla latte are my two favorite drinks. They also have a huge menu full of super delicious items including these biscuits as well as pastries! I recommend everyone try Drip right away if you haven't yet.

Yelp
Just down the hill from the eastern end of the campus of USC-Columbia in 5 Points, Drip has some very good things to eat, all fixed on the spot. My favorite has pancetta, cheese, jam with some condiments; I add the optional fried egg. The hot egg complements the other ingredients beautifully. To the main focus: coffee. In the form of whole beans, Drip carries many varietals, from Kenya and Ethiopia, to Hawaii and Colombia. Likewise, there are are several ground standards and a coffee of the day. They make the drink in all the standard configurations: latte, macchiato, espresso, Americano, etc. All the drinks I've had are solid, if not exceptional. Chai and other teas are also served, as well as smoothies. Drip has pastries too. The baristas are skilled and efficient, taking the time to make your drink properly. They are not slow by any means. They'll bring your order to your table, Tables can be hard to get when school is in session - students park at two/four tops with their Macs. To enjoy their excellent service to the max, pick your time strategically. A well concealed, unadvertised room (with additional seating farther back,) has an attractive vinyl records section. Although I'm not familiar with some of the performers, the selection seems pretty large to me. I have enjoyed Drip immensely over the last 8 years. I would recommend Drip enthusiastically.
google avatar

Andrew J.

Yelp
Cool little spot right on the main drag there. Really friendly staff and great coffee. The menu was a lot more than I was expecting and I had a nice little breakfast last week. There are outdoor seating options available and they are taking their COVID protocols seriously here which is just fine by me. If you're looking for coffee in this area, give Drip a drop in.
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
Every time I am in town this has been my go to coffee spot. Staff is always super friendly. Tried the Vanilla Burbon Latte and a honey lavender scone. It was out of this world
