"End of the line for Drip Line Oakland. Chef Nora Haron-Dunning has amicably departed the West Oakland cafe Drip Line (940 Union St., Ste. 21) where she’s earned a reputation for her Singaporean-inspired dishes. As a result, the shop has closed. Fortunately for her fans, Haron-Dunning says she’ll pursue a new project soon. And lovers of Drip Line’s coffee and interiors are in luck, too: Its owners and co-founders, architects Carrie Shores and Josh Larson of Larson Shores Architecture and Interiors, will reopen the cafe space sometime this fall." - Caleb Pershan

Decided to check out this place, because I heard they had really good chicken and waffles. Got there at 1p in the afternoon and found out they are pretty much out of everything. From what was left, we chose the breakfast sandwich and burger. They were both very tasty but my sandwich looked a little lonely on that plate all by itself. Some fries or hash brown would have been a nice addition. Fortunately the latte was perfect and I was able to steal the sweet potato fries from my friend. All in all, cool little spot and the coffee is on point. However, if you want the good stuff for lunch, you better come early!

Found this gem of a cafe that serves Four Barrel coffee and delicious SoutheastAsian-California fusion cuisine for lunch! We had the Singaporean Chicken Rice, which was incredibly tasty, and their house blended mushroom burger with sweet potato fries, which is now one of our favorite burgers in the Bay Area! We will back for their weekend brunch to try out their chicken & waffles, and also when they have random recipes for their Funky Friday’s (like nasi lemak etc)!

Yo. SO GOOD. Space was clean and simple with a coffee shop vibe to hang for a lunch meeting. I had a salad with a delicious peanut sauce at the bottom of the dish, which I appreciated. But the chocolate walnut oat muffin I had for dessert.. wow, that was something to write home about. Staff was also great for the indecisive guest (always looking for that reco). This spot is definitely a gem in West Oakland.

Super cute place in an unexpected neighborhood. Food choices were limited but all really good. Coffee ☕ was excellent. We went on a nice day so the outdoor seating was a nice option. The burger 🍔 was surprisingly good and the sweet potato fries 🍠🍟 were sweet and creamy with just the right amount of salt.

No artificial fake food. Real butter, cracked eggs, real sugar and whole goodness. A fusion of timeless French pastries, southern staples, and Asian classics. Nora is a food genius!

Definition of a hidden gem. It’s all good! Get the grits. The shrimp and grits are some of the best in the Bay Area. This little spot is going into heavy rotation!!

We ordered the breakfast sandwich with chicken and the Urab salad. Both incredibly tasty. The coffee was also amazing. I wish I lived in Oakland so I could come here all the time.

This place is kinda off the beaten path. It is one you have to know about to try. That being said, the food and coffee is pretty good. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting.
