Dripped Birria (Midtown)

Had some flavorful shrimp tacos. Seasoned and cheesy. The consume was equally great and flavorful. Onions and lime popping. The service was expeditious, efficient, and professional. The space was beautiful. Black lighting and a variety of music was lively music. The horchata was sweet. Dining area was clean.

The smoked chicken quesadilla was amazing. I also tried the birria quesadilla and the dripped nachos. I found them on Door Dash during my Houston visit and it was sooo good, I had to go back before I left. Definitely added to my must haves in Houston!

Looking for tacos in Midtown/Montrose? Go to Velvet. I’ve ordered from Dripped Birria MANY times and usually choose this location specifically for the drive-through. I place my order online and pick it up at the window, which has never been an issue before. This visit on Tuesday January 6th at 8:30 pm, was different. When I pulled up, the manager Aury instructed the cashier to tell me I couldn’t pick up a DoorDash order—before confirming what type of order I had. The cashier was polite and simply relaying instructions. I clarified the order was not DoorDash and was placed directly through Dripped Birria, but the manager still refused to hand it to me and required me to come inside. This was frustrating and unnecessary, especially since the signage clearly states the drive-through is for to-go orders (photos attached). If customers have to come inside anyway, there’s no real benefit to choosing this location over nearby spots like Velvet Taco!!

Tacos were honestly very good flavor wise, and they were well made by the cooks. Only negative for me was the size for the price was a bit high imo. I could have eaten probably 10-15 of these easily because they were so small.. to spend $40 on tacos just to fill up is a little pricy. Went with 7 tacos and left hungry, spent $26.

Ordered for pickup and food is not good. The photos online are deceiving. The food looks larger portioned than how it really is. I got the shrimp tacos and the shrimp were nothing like the photo. The shrimp was small and looked like they were frozen shrimp from out of a bag. They also forgot our queso when we asked for it on the side with our nachos. I’m not a fan of not getting what I paid for.

It might be the midday time, but the staff is completely rude. The food was not good. I’ve had lots of times and lots of places all over Texas and this is by far my worst experience with this type of taco then if you also like to look around the place, the decorations don’t lineup as you’ll see for my photos at the wall. Art is misaligned. The wood trim is like haphazardly cut out to make room for outlets. They had seven cent things in the women’s restroom which if you’re having that many Sent things what’s going on and I was I went to the men’s restroom. There was two so like something stinks in the restrooms. They are hiding it really badly. I cannot recommend this place.

It was my first time eating at a Houston Eatery…I’m from way up North in the outer suburbs of Houston. I looked through the list of possible restaurants and the pictures of the food here looked great! The hours were supper accommodating as well. When I walked in employee running the front named Tracey showed me the whole process and walked me through the menu with informative suggestions and options to help level up my order! Super super nice person! Thank you to the whole crew and for making my experience great!

Love! Love! LOVE this place...the food, the vibe, and the atmosphere was awesome, off the charts. The customer service was a 10/10 which is rare to find these days in the food industry. Prices are great- you get more than enough & we'll portioned plates. You will leave loved and well taken care of. Food well seasoned & full of flavor!🥰🤗😋
