"Competing with other Nordic countries for the top spot of the world’s most coffee-addicted nation, Sweden offers an immense number of coffee houses. Stockholm is no exception. This bohemian cafe features sustainably grown and traded coffee roasted at a proprietary roastery the same week as the shipment arrives. Reigning Swedish roasting champion and managing director Joanna Alm knows her stuff. You will have a hard time finding more flavorful and floral drip coffee — or a more amiable place to chat or open up your laptop. [$]" - Per Styregård

SerpAPI
The premier place for coffee in Stockholm. A world class roastery with reasonably priced pour overs of a massive variety of beans. Their espresso drinks are also masterfully crafted and the baked goods are fantastic. The shop also boasts a large selection of beans to take home from producers all over the globe. A must visit for coffee lovers in the city. Dog and baby friendly :)

Manos Athanatos

SerpAPI
One of the best speciality coffees shops in EU. Great selection of properly sources and paid coffees, skillful and friendly baristas! What an experience.. The geisha espresso is a must! I also loved their Kalita natural Java!

Nyasha Chifamba

SerpAPI
The peach pie was awesome. I had a hot chocolate - it had an interesting taste - I think my taste buds are used to the cheap stuff😁.. The laptop room was nice and comfy but the music coming from the main room was a bit too loud for a call. Barista looked miserable maybe because it was soon after opening and the place was a bit busy and she was alone.

SerpAPI
Coziness, warm vibes and delicious selection of coffee. Love that the (very friendly) staff speak Russian and serve the closest version of Borscht I tried in Stockholm. Everyone is very accommodating and helpful. Delicious bread as well!

Easy Anna

SerpAPI
My favorite coffee in Stockholm! They have sockets, so you could charge you devices. Friendly barista(s), but I haven't met anyone unfriendly for the whole trip🤣 Highly recommended to everyone. Земфира из колонок, ван лав

SerpAPI
This place knows its coffee and has sourced from unique farms in regions you know and love. There’s a nice little work area, good pastries, and the staff is kind and helpful! Their cold brew was one of the better ones I’ve ever had.

SerpAPI
Between a 3 to 4, rounding up. Was a bit too acidic for my taste but overall decent. Price seemed average for the type of store but I'm not local. Friendly service.

Benedek Páli

SerpAPI
In contrast with other cafés in the neighborhood, these guys really know what they do. Well roasted coffee, good service, good vibes with a LaMarzocco. It is not the place where you would stay for long (well, at least in my opinion),but if you want a quick shot, it is definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Came here to check out the cafe scenery in Stockholm, and it did not disappoint. Coffee is slightly more on the bitter/sour side, but very, very solid. The cinnamon pastry we had was also extremely soft and delectable (only suggestion would be to have an option to warm it up). Cafe was packed with locals who were doing word puzzles on newspaper on a moody Sunday afternoon. Great place to chill with friends. Note that the restroom is single stall, gender neutral, and extremely small.

Keanu W.

Yelp
This is great coffee! A solid cafe if you're a coffee person in need of a pick-me up in Stockholm.

Yelp
I never had such the urge to Yelp so quickly as I am now I never like coffee....give me tea and we'll call it a day While researching places to try and food to eat, I read somewhere to try oat milk latte...what? I thought it was a specific flavor or something super unique. Nope it's jus oat milk and espresso. Stupid right lol Anyways, tried to find the best oat milk latte (duh) and I couldn't really find anything but I read someone's article about drop coffee and how amazing the coffee was and how they had oat milk. A few cafes I've been to didn't offer that so I took the trip out here just for it Wait for it Wait for it This is by far the best latte I had ever had, it might not be saying much but it's just so effing good. The oat milk provides a mild flavor and a hint of sweetness, and the espresso is also mild and not burnt or overly acidic. Just tasting the foam, my eyes widen. I almost finished the cup in 3 gulps, I'm sure people stared. And it was the perfect temp, not burning, I mean I'm trying to drink it right away, not wait for it to cool. I'm in heaven!!!

Emma L.

Yelp
Spontaneous stop at Drop coffee. Just around the corner of the station (Mariatorget). Very minimalistic vibe of the interior. Delicious coffee. As usually a cappuccino with oatmilk! Friendly staff Good coffee Calm

Yelp
When looking up 'must-see' places in Stockholm, Drop Coffee came up as one of the best coffee shops in the WORLD. And with that said, I was on a mission to visit this so-called 'best coffee in the world'. The coffee shop is what you'd expect from a minimalistic/hipster venue. The shop is quite big, so it can seat a ton of people. They also have wi-fi available. Apparently they competed in the aeropress competitions and pour over coffees, so that's what I went with. It's always best to ask the baristas to give descriptions of the coffee beans, espeically if you're doing a pour over, otherwise you're just guessing. I'm a fan of the smoother, nuttier coffees and they had 2 to choose from. It seemed like they had a slightly wider selection of fruity, acidic coffee, which I'm not a fan of. I wish I tried the oat milk. I didn't see that until after I ordered my coffee.

Elvin L.

Yelp
The oat milk latte is the best latte Ive ever had in my life. It is so good and creamy. The toast with eggs, chive mayonaise and bacon was excellent as well. This place is a must when stopping by stockholm!

Ashley C.

Yelp
Drop Coffee is great spot to hit up if you are seeking out good coffee, and additionally, a place that roasts and sells their own beans. The space is quite large and open, with a few different areas of seating. I came in on a Monday around lunch time and there was plenty of seating, and those that were enjoying their brews were on laptops or presumably having business-related meetings. The menu is all in Swedish, but feel free to ask the baristas for help if you need it because the two I spoke with were super friendly. I ordered a double shot cappuccino which was probably the best cappuccino that I've had in Stockholm. Super smooth with no burnt taste! I also Got a vegetarian sandwich that had really amazing bread. Overall a super great space with super great coffee!

Greta C.

Yelp
I think Mariatorget might be the best place in Stockholm atm for coffee and bars. Drop Coffee is very nasty with tasty coffee and sandwiches and sweets. I enjoy both the "bryggkaffe" and the cappuccino! I only wish the coffee had one refill included, especially because it's quite pricy. If you come in the weekend try to come early rather then late because it can be quite crowded and hard to find a seat!

Louise C.

Yelp
Drop Coffee is a cafe who dedicates itself to one thing, well made coffee! At first I was kind of disappointed by the interior of this cafe, the entrance has more personality than in the inside, it's essentially a blank canvas. Good seating but no decoration. So if your looking for big comfy couches and cool artwork ur in the wrong place, but if your looking for a well made cup of java, welcome! So I give this spot 4 stars, i really enjoyed my coffee here, the staff were friendly and honestly despite the blank emptiness I would comfortable sit here an work for a while. So come here for one reason, that being if ur a coffee lover. Otherwise there's plenty of Starbucks around ;-)

Sam O.

Yelp
One of the most famous coffee/roasting place known by all the coffee geeks (the owner is participating to the world coffee roasting championship 2016 in Shangai) The decor is of a regular hipster/simple style, it is quite big and airy. The staff were welcoming and courteous. I picked one of their coffee bean bag the current Bolivian single origin and chose the same coffee for my morning freshly hand brewed cup. It was delicious with bold flavors and notes of berries and chocolate. They didn't have any pastries/ buns left as we came late on a weekend morning but there were some nice looking sandwiches. The prices are matching the high quality and it is worth it. The neighborhood is charming and welcoming. It is a must visit!

Anne L.

Yelp
High quality coffee, made work love and smiles. Perfect from the first sip to the last drop. I've never been disappointed by this place. The staff is always friendly and helpful and can help you find just the right coffee for your taste buds. Try their tasting menu, where you get one bean in three different versions!

Mats C.

Yelp
I'm so happy to see that Drop Coffee has returned to its former glory and service. Once again the place and the drinks feel like they used to some years back. Always a hospitable and friendly attentive service. The beans in their own roasting are as delicious as they always were. But I'm happy that a new shift manager has reignited the cafe part as well. So I'm once again awarding them a five star review after an earlier dip. Keep it up!

Roger W.

Yelp
Had the flight of Coffee. Excellent. Most unusual espresso I have ever tasted, sweet fruits and herbal with deep passing notes. Simple counter service but well done . The barista takes the time to explain the drinks as there is a large selection.

Katie D.

Yelp
My fiancé and I came here because of a Pinterest post and it did not disappoint. It reminds us a lot of our favorite coffee shop back home, Philz Coffee in San Francisco. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff was more than pleasant even though we arrived as they opened the doors in the morning. The coffee was smooth and flavorful which left no need for sugar or additives. The pastries were incredible. My favorite was the cinnamon bun but the others were outstanding as well. Definitely take the time to stroll down to the shop from Gamla Stan (its only 20 minutes max and the scenery is breathtaking).

Lily T.

Yelp
This is a great example of an overrated hipster coffee shop that has gotten popular over its strategic location and the rather "cool" looking people working behind the counter. Staff & Coffee. To get treated coldly by the staff has never been something I fancy, and that is indeed the treatment that my friend and I got when we order our coffee. Something that is worth mentioning is that it took them nearly 15 minutes to make our macchiato and coffee latte despite the fact that there was no queue and three people behind the counter - that's what I call slow service. The coffee was not that delicious either, and as many other people have pointed out, my coffee was not warm enough and a bit too pricey. Interior & Room. Drop coffee does not consist of one or two rooms but several ones which have wooden tables and stools on one side of the table and benches on the other, neither are any comfortable to sit on. In fact, I can't even imagine why they would have such useless stools unless it is a new hipster trend. Also, the noise that rises in the small rooms are also a big problem for the coffee shop. I sat in one of these rooms for about 2 hours and got a smaller headache because of all the noise, and worth pointing out is that the room was not even full at that time. I feel like I should give this coffee shop a second try, but why should I put myself and my wallet through such an unpleasant experience again when everything except the location of Drop Coffee seemed right?

Brett M.

Yelp
We came as a party of four hoping for kaffe och smorgås-- unfortunately they only had two sandwiches left. No soup. No salad. No choices. Alas! We begrudgingly decided to split the Sweet potato and Pickled Onion sandwiches. They were totally delicious and left me disappointed that we couldn't have ordered more! The coffee was even better. Gourmet pour-over single origins from Ethiopia and Kenya were rich and complicated. Service was just fine. The atmosphere was chill. The temperature was too hot. Recommended.

Michael O.

Yelp
It has been awhile since I visited Drop Coffee as my last experience was less than ideal, but decided to give it another try! Unfortunately, not much has changed!! The croissant was drier than a bone and had about as much flavor!! The coffee was passable but they don't provide a re-fill!! For $7 one would expect more than a paper cup only half full and old pastries.

Michael K.

Yelp
If you're a coffee lover, you should visit the place. They make drip coffee, and they know exactly how to do it. They grind the beans only for your pot, and make sure the water has the right temperature. I normally drink coffee with milk, but here I skip it because the coffee is just so delicious. The staff is friendly and nice, although sometimes during busy hours it might take a while to get your order. If you're looking for something sweet, get a "chokladboll" - a chocolatey treat that goes perfectly with the coffee. The breakfast and brunch menus are good. The brunch menu has a grilled sandwich, and the breakfast menu a cold one. Mine was delicious. It's possible to make table reservations for larger parties on weekends (we made one for 6 persons). This is really a great place!

David K.

Yelp
I'm really fond of this café. I enjoyed my coffee, though I have to admit that it could have been less milk in my cappuccino. The ambience is simple and nice and I would say that Drop Coffee is the best café in Sødermalm. But there're other fashionable and more beautiful cafés in Stockholm.

F B.

Yelp
Typical Södermalm style cafe. Great filter coffe and ok italian coffees. Cinnamon buns and other buns are like homemade, no looks but fantastic taste. Lots of english staff here

Mathias H.

Yelp
The coffee is the focus here. They brew several different single origin coffees on order - using the Hario V60 (for those not familiar with the V60 just trust me that it is the way to brew a cup of coffee). The guys (and girls) at drop also make good espresso based beverages and the Swedish barista champion of 2011 is also one of the owners of this place. They only serve their own roasted coffee (roasted on site) and quality is in general much better than the average cup of coffee although I do not think they are world class (they cannot compete with the likes of Tim Wendelboe, Coffee Collective, Square Mile etc.) and not even the best in Sweden but still pretty darn good. The breakfast with yogurt and small sandwiches is also good and in summer they have some very nice ice cream and an excellent cold drip coffee. The place is often packed but it is usually possible to squeeze in at the bar or at a table. Since they expanded with a second cafe quality has however become much more up and down so to get the top rating they need to more even in quality and also improve the coffee roasted.

Nele V.

Yelp
A very modern and relaxed Place with a good strong coffee. Had no problems as a vegan, oatmilk was available! :-)

Katy L.

Yelp
Mariatoget truly has a superb selection of coffee shops. This place has a nice atmosphere and computer friendly. The coffee is nice with a delicious aroma and silky milkfoam. It also features a small but nice selection of pastries. Perfect for aa rainy afternoon.

Tom K.

Yelp
Nice coffee house place that has a great smell of freshly roasted coffee to it. It's very good to hang out and relax and have a great sandwich with your drink.

Sarah N.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place out after enjoying their beans so much in my home brewing in the UK. This isn't the comfiest of cafes. They have taken the hipster vibe yo an extreme so the decor is very plain and simple. It is however light and spacious with plenty of seating, though I'd avoid sitting in the first area by the bar as it can get quite crafty. The coffee was really good. So far I've tried a pour over and an espresso and they were both very tasty. Expect to be in their a while at a weekend though as the service can be quite slow when they are busy.

Goetz B.

Yelp
On my effort to see some nice coffee shops in Stockholm, I also stopped at Drop Coffee. It was even recommended to me by the guys at Kura (http://www.qype.co.uk/place/2355843-Kura-Cafe-Stockholm).&nbsp ; Drop Coffee looks like a cool shop with some places inside and few places outside. It's just around the corner from the tunnelbana stop Mariatorget and absolutely worth da visit.

Jon G.

Yelp
Great espresso and sandwiches, friendly service, good wifi and music.

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
Friendly people, good coffee and sandwiches. Back story: I came to check out the coffee after seeing their coffee packaging design online! I loved the simple interior, friendly baristas and there were so many coffees to choose from. I decided on a hand pour/pour over Ethiopia to take away, but they said they were backed up on orders and would not be able to make it for a little while. Since I had to leave soon, they told me to take a drip coffee and to choose something to take with me. I got the vegan sandwich with hummus, avocado and tomato. Really good! I'll be back to try the pour over :)

Vivienne K.

Yelp
Oh hello dear Brisbane style cafe... how I've missed you! Finally, a cafe that serves nice strong coffee and has their own specialty blend of beans. I can't describe how excited I am. The best part? It's right next door to the Mariatorget T-bana! Talk about convenience! Serving up a nice warm cup of cappuccino, the coffee's flavour is quite mild, while being rather intense. Although not as flavourful as the coffees that spoilt me in Brisbane, I'd have to say this joint has great potential. They have a small variety of sweets, and a decent selection of simple meal platters - Which look quite delightful by the way. Just be warned that if you are gluten-intolerant, there's not a whole lot of choices. However, the staff are quite sweet and helpful, so you may still be able to acquire some foods. The cafe has quite a nice ambience for chilling out and working in, with a smaller - but cozier- seating space in the back. Definitely worth checking out!

Tim P.

Yelp
Top notch coffee and service. Located in a brilliant part of Stockholm, this is worth visiting for any coffee lover. Our only disappointment is that they were self proclaimed understaffed that day so they didn't do pour over coffee :( The decor is stylish and inviting.

Marie-jose R.

Yelp
Just another coffee place... Used to be much better, service extremely slow, just clean enough, coffee not even that good... Big disapointment! Shame as placed in a great area.

Johan L.

Yelp
Great coffe - great working spot. I hold this as one of my absolute fab working spots as a freelancer.

Anna N.

Yelp
For me definitely one of the best stops for coffee throughout Stockholm. Dropp coffe is not just famous for nothing. The friendly and professional staff. Here you can buy coffee blends from their home roasters directly, there are a lot of cool things to make coffee. Great desserts and savory sandwiches. Sitting outside and inside, the interior is simple, clean, complete with distinctive chandeliers. Just wow. The cafe is situated in cool neighborhood full of other hipster shops and cafes. So go for it!;)

Gonzalo A.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Stockholm. They take pride in their craft and the baristas sometimes works too hard to pull while neglecting to teach and share with you what is so special about their own roast, process, and intentions. However, if you are looking for dedicated baristas that want to pull the best shot of espresso, then Drop Coffee is the place in Stockholm. I just wish the shop took more time to share why they love their craft because I feel it could really educate the locals more about what it takes to pull a shot of espresso.

Dennis B.

Yelp
Think about something really sour, maybe a not so ripe lemon or why not that milk you forgot in the back of your fridge. Now, imagine you are ordering a double espresso and you get a coffee tasting exactly like your lemon you just thought of. Imagine further you return that quite undrinkable coffee to the counter and get told that's how a double espresso should taste. Really? Where would that be? In Hell? In another dimension where coffee tastes horrible and is used as a pesticide? Come on, Drop Coffee, you can do better than this sh*t.

Nicole C.

Yelp
Great coffee located in Sodermalm. Staff was excellent -- shoutout to Rudy. He was so gracious to my friend and I. The coffee itself was delicious and the location was great.

Katerina T.

Yelp
Located in the very cool yet beautiful part of Sodermalm (Mariatorget T-Bana stop), Drop Coffee packs a great punch. Though very no-nonsense and with a bare bones look, this spot means business when it comes to coffee. You'll see their many accolades on the wall, and after your first sip-- you'll know why they are the best in Sweden. The lattes had the perfect smooth consistency, with every sip, leaving you wanting more. Enjoy them inside or on their patio outside for some people watching. You can also get them to go (bonus: cheaper).

Annette B.

Yelp
Finally I have reached the most under-and over-estimated coffee place at Södermalm. This place is definitely one of those that have to confirm their reputation and strive for coffee excellence all the time and are not allowed to make mistakes in the client service. In my case, the caffe latte with one espresso shot tasted nicely, but I was a bit disappointed in the terms of how they served the drink - everything goes in the same cup size and everything looks like cappuccino, which kind of gives the wrong impression of the drink. On Sunday afternoon it was quite a challenge to squeeze in and find a place, as a lot of people just sit there for ages doing nothing. Ok, I am quite rude here, but just a notice that you should not account that if you come to Drop Coffee not for a take away that you immediatelly find a place for yourself : )

Amy A.

Yelp
Great, traditional pastries, good coffee, baristas speak really good English. Expensive as hell, as everything is in Stockholm. It has a very American, light-toasty, Portland vibe to it. Cute space, too.

Amy T.

Yelp
Drop coffee was definitely on our list of coffee shops to try in Stockholm. So happy we did as it was probably our favorite coffee shop in Stockholm. The ambiance is super cute and I love their to go cups as well. The latte is strong and really good. I'd definitely recommend Drop Coffee. Also, can't forget! They have free wifi.

Emily W.

Yelp
Great setting with plenty of seating indoors, outside seating is minimal I ordered a latte, and I can confidently say that I had the best latte in Stockholm. They lack a pastry menu, but they really so have a great brew.

Steveland M.

Yelp
Much better than coffice in terms of ambience and pleasantness of folk. Go here for a great coffee and stay for the excellent service.

Daniel R.

Yelp
Good but bit pricey. Very minimalist inside with wood and concrete so not a great place to work if you need to talk. Very fresh; fantastic coffee.

Henry D.

Yelp
Quite silly - a miniscule cup of coffee with no refill. Getting tired of these cafés that behave as if they invented coffee and serve a normal cup of java as if it was liquid gold

Maciek S.

Yelp
Nice spot close to the subway station. Excellent choice for filter coffee (hint: you can easily get 2 cups from a single pot). They also have a roasters in a different part of the city where they do tastings and classes.

Nina N.

Yelp
Really great selection of coffee, cute little venue not over crowded when I was there either. They also had a delicious selection of pastries and were located conveniently close to the station. Staff were friendly and helpful and they provided free wifi for their customers.

Jack F.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and friendly, good-looking staff. But the best thing was the brownie. I died

Matthew B.

Yelp
Really nice coffee in a really laid back place. Highly recommend stopping here if in Söder!

Mikael E.

Yelp
Expensive (breakfast is 140 SEK and very plain), quite long queues and when we asked for our coffee extra hot we got still treated with regular coffee And they served it before the food was ready, which also took a long time. By the time the food came out we were finished with the coffee.

Drew G.

Yelp
Excellent coffee! The staff is great, too, and happy to share with you their story and what they do. Great seating options and wifi, too.
