Drumlin - Review - Shoreline - Seattle - The Infatuation

"After undergoing a closure and management changes in 2024, this family-friendly Shoreline pub is back. The menu includes dishes like cacio e pepe risotto, pretzel knots with beer cheese, and flatbread topped with andouille sausage. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Really good espresso drinks (we got a mocha) with a local small business vibe. Breakfast burrito was tasty, especially with hot sauce! There was a steady stream of people ordering to go and plenty of tables to sit and work with guest wifi.

We have always been fans of The Drumlin, but had not been there since they transformed the menu and cocktail offerings. Wow! Everything was excellent and the presentation was superb. Loved the rich chile verde with cornbread, creamy risotto with shaved spring asparagus, and a fresh caesar with anchovies. Drink list is creative with nice range for different moods. This visit moved Drumlin from a cool neighborhood joint for a drink and maybe a small bite to a top tier option for a local date night or dinner with friends.

The Drumlin is exactly what you want in a neighborhood spot - good vibes, incredible food, and cocktails that actually make you pause to admire them before you take a sip. We started with their whipped cheese toast with shaved manchego, black garlic, and balsamic. Sounds simple, but it was packed with rich, complex flavor and had that perfect balance of creamy, crunchy, sweet, and savory. Honestly could’ve eaten another plate. The drinks are where The Drumlin really flexes its creativity. The cocktail with the gold sugar rim andb speciality ice cube with sparkles was a standout - beautifully presented and even better tasting. They clearly care about both the craft and the experience for their customers. The interior is cozy but stylish, with warm wood finishes and a bar that’s stacked with everything under the sun. The bartender was super knowledgeable and friendly without being overbearing. Can’t wait to come back and try more off the menu. This place is an absolute win for the neighborhood.

Soooo good! Great vegetarian options and desserts that weren’t super sweet and perfectly rounded out our meal. Definitely come by!!

I keep an eye out for new places where I can get a cup of coffee and do a little writing. The other day, I saw a post about Drumlin adding morning coffee to their offerings. I added it to my list of places to try. This morning, it was at the top of the list, so I packed up my computer and headed out. It was a sunny morning and I enjoyed the short car trip. When I got there, I was happy to see that there was plenty of parking. The dining area is divided into a section of tables by the window, that would be nice places to eat. Next to that are a few tables that would work for couples or a small group to enjoy a drink and chat. There is a stage that has been taken over by a few couches. I took a spot there since that was the only place where I saw an outlet to plum in my computer. There is also a bar in the back that I want to try out (But not at 7 in the morning). The place was not too full, so the one woman at the counter was able to handle taking orders and making coffee. I ordered the largest latte they had. That turned out to be a 12 ounce double shot. I have a 8 ounce coffee cup at home that was my great grandfather's. I bring it out so we can joke about how much bigger coffee cups are these days. The cup I was offered seemed like a bit of a throwback. The latte made up for the size by being very tasty. While I worked, a few more people showed up, making the place feel like a nice neighborhood hang out. The people with laptops must have bigger batteries than mine. When I come back, I'll get here early to get a spot by the outlet.

Google
What a wonderful foodie find! We didn't know this was a 2.0 version of the original but what is going on now with their food and drinks is GREAT. We were there on a Thurs eve, it was 3/4 full and even that + ambient music was still not loud. We shared two main dishes that were both delicious and innovative. The two cocktails my dining companion had were fresh and innovate. Well worth this neighborhood stop!

Such a local staple now! I love coming here for coffee or dinner with my husband and toddler daughter. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, the food is AMAZING - the mushroom toast is my obsession. The drinks are fun, and lots of NA options if that's more your thing :) Can see myself coming here with friends and family over and over again, would be proud to bring out of town visitors here.

Google
The food, drinks, and service were fantastic! Made for a very cute date night, but the prices were pretty high so unfortunately we won't be able to go regularly. Not unfair prices for the quality that was offered, but I'd love to see more affordable menu options or happy hour drinks so we could go out to our neighborhood restaurant more. It seemed a bit empty compared to next door which was packed, I want to see Drumlin succeed so my constructive criticism is that I think you'd get a lot more customers with some lower cost menu items. I wish I had the budget to try them all, because what I did get was sooo fantastic, and the portion size was generous enough that I was able to have it for lunch the next day too!

Yelp
This Drumlin update is essentially transitional, jumping from Nov 2022 to Feb 2025 to July 2025 (7/20/25). I enjoy stopping by Shoreline's Ridgecrest neighborhood, because of the Crest theater, Ridgecrest Books, Cafe Aroma, and Drumlin. Drumlin is the sister restaurant to the adjacent Ridgecrest Pub which often hosts a wide variety of food trucks. I like how Ridgecrest overall has created a pleasant sense of community. Drumlin first came onto my radar screen because I heard about an Escoffier trained pastry chef working there from another Yelp Elite. I tried a few times to stop by, but the popular baked goods were always sold out. But I did end up having a tasty lunch which I wrote up in my previous review from 11/13/22. This pastry chef has since then moved on. Drumlin then returned onto my radar screen because I heard of about a revamp of their beverage and culinary program. I was able to spontaneously stop by, snag a two top and really enjoyed my first 2025 visit back on February 19th. I savored my spinach salad, casio e pepe risotto, and Running Up That Hill cocktail. It was a bit spendy since I had just started a new job. However, I appreciated the quality and its location close to home. It was nice to see positive write ups in Seattle Magazine and The Stranger, giving positive props to this Shoreline destination. Then I heard that Drumlin went into full cafe mode with daily business hours 7am to 1pm. Menu focuses on beverages, baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches/wraps for the time being. Interesting pivot, but not fully using their awesome multi-purpose space. They have outdoor seating, a full bar, a stage, many two tops against a banquette, street parking, and a dedicated private parking lot. Oh well, I'm sure there is a story behind that and why dinner service has been suspended. Anyways, subsequent visits happened all within a week on July 12th, 13th, and 20th. The first two visits were around 11 am, today's visit was at 745 am. The visits were all onsite for one hour, 90 minutes, and five hours, respectively. Absolutely chill vibe being onsite. Often the challenge visiting indie cafes, there's never enough seating, too crowded, the sea of laptops, ad naseum. I enjoy seeing solos, pairs, groups, and families stopping in whether to stay awhile or as takeout. I've enjoyed collectively to date: 3 - 16oz iced mochas, 1 chocolate chip cookie, one peach gingerbread cake slice, and two Morning Glory muffins. Today's muffin was especially awesome, still warm from the oven, love the overall moist crumb, and especially the pepitas for texture. This going to be a hard situation because I enjoy Cafe Aroma located diagonal from Drumlin, but I definitely favor the fresh onsite scratch pastries here. There's also some featured baked goods from Kaffeeklatch, located in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood. I've contributed two posts and 40 photos over five visits. Hopefully this provided a comprehensive view of my experience at Drumlin. I've been a Shoreline resident for over 23 years, I'm always rooting for hometown businesses to succeed as they evolve, remain vibrant, and viable.

Yelp
This is a wonderful spot to drop in and hang out for a bit while enjoying a coffee and something sweet. Located in Shoreline, I love that they're open for coffee and pastries daily from 7a-2p. Each visit has been met with friendly customer service and a well crafted mocha. I look forward to returning often.

Yelp
It's great to see the Drumlin open again! After a bit of a remodel and serious revamp to its food and drink offerings, the Drumlin is back and better than ever. It's always been (and continues to be!) a wonderful place for the neighborhood to gather. I look forward to watching this spot evolve.

Yelp
It is so nice to have a great quality restaurant here in shoreline and not always have to rely on Edmonds for good food. The menu here is phenomenal and I believe changes seasonally. They were just starting to do weekly specials when I came in. I devoured the salmon pasta, which struck the perfect balance between rich and fresh. The pretzel bite and Brie appetizers were also quickly scarfed down. The cocktail selection is creative and mine tasted great. The inside has comfortable seating and service was quick. Definitely worth grabbing a bite and then a movie at the Crest.

Yelp
Place is a decent size and also has an outdoor area with seating. There appears to be a stage, so wondering if they ever have live music here. As for the food, it was just ok. There wasn't an abundance of choices for vegetarians, so I ended up getting a salad and a flatbread. The salad was good, and a decent size, but a little on the pricey side. The flatbread was ok. A bit burnt on the edges and didn't have much flavor. I also had a cocktail (Dandy Has the Last Word) that was not great. It was served in a super small glass, and had a very syrup-y flavor that wasn't good. Service was also just ok. I'd go back for live music, but likely not for a meal or cocktail.

Yelp
Food was good but small portions...service was ok but sloooow. Live close but will be awhile until I try this place again

Yelp
So glad to have this back in the neighborhood! Great food...had the brie, charcuterie, and focaccia and all were spot on Had some great whiskey and beers Great to have a "big city" type establishment in a small neighborhood Will def be making this place a regular stop

Yelp
Checked out the Drumlin for coffee and treats. The coffee was decent but the scones were terrible. They were un-edible. If you go, stick with the coffee.

Yelp
Just had dinner tonight, Valentine's Day. The 3rd day after the Drumlin's re-opening with their full menu, etc. We had the andouille flatbread, with cheesecake for dessert. The service was spot on! The food was delicious! And ambiance, was really great. It was all good prior to this new opening, but the ambiance was a little cozier now, and the table side service REALLY excelled, with mature servers who delivered patience and kindness, along with the food.

Yelp
I have attended a few silent book club events at Drumlin, and they are always so kind and welcoming to our group! The people who work here offer excellent service with a variety of menu items! I have tried their Mac n cheese, pretzel, and grilled cheese- all of them have been great! They also offer to go boxes too! Check out their calendar for several events hosted throughout the month!

Yelp
Tried out the reopened Drumlin tonight and it did not disappoint! The cozy dinner atmosphere food, and service were great! We had beer and cider, wilted spinach salad, bean and sausage soup and smoked salmon pasta. Ohh and we also had the apple crisp for dessert. Didn't try any cocktails but they sounded good! I appreciate chef's creativity and desire for a farm to table experience that's accessible too! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The food and drinks are excellent! I like sitting outside and enjoying the neighborhood. The food is serious contender for best restaurant in North Seattle/ Shoreline.

Yelp
Cozy brewery with a extensive food menu and lots of seating. I got a pumpkin spice cider ($7) and the pretzel knots ($12 for 6) with beer cheese (+$4). The pretzels were warm, fluffy and incredible with the gooey, perfectly salty beer cheese. Cider was great and very festive for fall too. Awesome lighted back patio. Cool staff.

Yelp
Stopped in last night to check out the changes after the reopening a couple months ago. I'm relieved to finally have a great craft cocktail in the neighborhood! The food menu is great too. They have multiple options for most dietary needs and restrictions without it feeling underwhelming to folks with no allergies or restrictions. We're bummed dogs won't be allowed on the back patio anymore once that reopens, but there's always Ridgecrest nextdoor (same owners, just no food or hard liquor). Pups are also welcome on the small front patio at Drumlin. Obviously we'll be back. Even if it's not in your neighborhood Drumlin is definitely worth the trip.

Yelp
Small, unique and on point! Best meal I had in the Seattle area. Didn't recognize a single brand behind the bar they were happy to talk about any and all. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Cool place for drinks and to hang out in shoreline. The place has a heated backyard seating area as well. The food was average, would not recommend but the drinks were cool. A little bit too strong on the raspberry flavor for me.

Yelp
This is a great local spot, it's cozy, comfortable and the beer is cold. If you are looking for a fabulous place to hold an event, pick the Drumlin!! Just had my graduation party on the back patio, everyone raved about the location and the atmosphere. Plenty of room for guests and food, heaters on the ceiling to keep you warm and a friendly staff to help with anything you need. I will be back to just hang out.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere at this cool local hangout spot. The drink and snack menus were perfect for stopping in after a nice evening stroll. Chris was super friendly and even gave our furry friend a bowl of water to sip on while we enjoyed some sips of our own. This could be a nice space to study, read some emails, research your next vacation, or catch up with a few friends after a year and a half of isolation. Would definitely visit again and try out their Sunday brunch.

Yelp
There are many things to like in this neighborhood watering hole including 36 beers on tap. There is plenty of pet-friendly outdoor seating in the back (heated, partitioned tables), ample parking and a regular food truck during weekends. Locals seem to like it judging by the crowd on a Saturday evening. Indoor seating area is 'cozy' with a few small tables and a small stage for Friday evening live acts. However food, menu selection and service can use an upgrade. Prices are a bit steep for the quality and conception of the menu selections (90$+ for 2 persons with just drinks/apps). They probably need a couple waitstaff to improve on the order and sit-down style setup.

Yelp
I like the atmosphere at this spot. Neighborhood pub relatability and friendliness + sort of a dim 70's bar vibe but without any of the grit or grime. It just works. Extensive beer list that has something for everyone. The hot pretzel I had was really good, but I'll have to come back for more of the menu. It looked really good though. There's usually a food truck out front when I'm there. It's a good place to socialize or just chill solo. It fits both well.

Yelp
Really good service and beer. Tons of local brews. Very family friendly. Lots of activity days. The karaoke day is our fav.

Yelp
So glad to find this place! Small menu, nice selection of beers/ciders, charming decor & outdoor space, + food truck. Service was excellent! Went with a group of friends before going to see a movie at The Crest. The best part is they take reservations! Will definitely be my go to stop before/after a movie.

Yelp
Our go to place for a relaxing beer and snack. Love the ambience, staff service. Prices for their food offerings have been creeping up quickly so hopefully they can control those costs. Desserts can approach or reach beyond $15-18 in some cases which seems steep to me. Same for their shared plates and snacking items (hummus, popcorn, etc). Nonetheless, I'm a fan and will continue going here.

Yelp
Simple and classy- Drumlin is a small neighborhood joint with well priced snacks, nonalcoholic beverages, wine and an amazing selection of beer and cider. It has spacious seating both indoor and outdoor plus a game room!

Yelp
We have friends living next to the NW Leary Way - NW Market st "Brewery + Food Truck (pandemic) Scene", so we've spent time chasing parking and a seat. Sometimes I just want to walk into a place and sit. Not being a craft beer fan, the 'flights' are wasted on me. Ridgecrest Shoreline neighborhood is a very walkable area, so I see the Ridgecrest Public House becoming the 'super chill' place they seem to strive for - including their partner Drumlin Pub. I will try the Bavarian looking pretzel next trip. We were chasing the Off The Rez FRY BREAD Powwow burger Sunday night, which went well with Drumlin Pub tap (60 rotating taps!) - very relaxing visit with life long friends. We'll resume Insta Posts at Lucky Envelope Brewing & Fair Isle Brewing next weekend. This weekend Greenwood Blush dry cider sipping.

Yelp
Supreme staff. I did ask for the heaters to be turned on that didn't happen but other than that love for the service. Wonderful selection of beer and daily food trucks. Highly recommend most of the food trucks. Not so much for the grilled cheese that was $9 It needed a lot more love and cheese other than a doily It needed some sprucing. It was okay.
google avatar

Marna K.

Yelp
Great spot with both indoor and covered/heated outdoor options! Call for an outdoor reservation if you want to make sure you get a spot. Great selection of beverages for any preference- beer, wine, bubbly, cider, non-alcoholic. They also have quite a bit of food but I have only had the truffle popcorn (so worth it!) Everyone is so welcoming- give them a try!

Will C.

Yelp
3.5 but rounding up to 4 as Shoreline really needs more places like this. Great outdoor space that is pet friendly. Beers and food was hit and miss and definitely on the spendy side. Service wasn't overly warm or friendly. Lot of potential and look forward to trying again.

Yelp
This place is fine. Id have no problem going back but the place next door is a better tap house. I feel like Drumlin should be a cheeky cocktail bar with dim lighting and a live piano player. But it's just kind of a weird lounge that serves the same beer as the place next door with a slightly different atmosphere. Doesn't really make since.

Thomas H.

Yelp
Great neighborhood place. Large salad is really small...dude in the cowboy hat could gain a better attitude.

Yelp
Really good service and beer. Tons of local brews. Very family friendly. Lots of activity days. The karaoke day is our fav.

Yelp
Fantastic new off-shoot of the Ridgecrest Public House in the Ridgecrest area north of Seattle. Fantastic aesthetics, good social distancing, great selection of adult and non-alcoholic beverages.

Tom H.

Yelp
This is Ridgecrest Public House's newest venue, located next door and offering all-ages seating both inside and out. http://www.ridgecrest.pub/ Megan and (her husband, whose name has escaped me) seem like a fantastic team who have some mad skills - they bring art, style, utility, ingenuity and community together to provide these gems of public house spaces to the otherwise nearly-devoid Ridgecrest (and north city) neighborhood. Staff is great, and I love the indoor or outdoor (front or back) seating efforts to allow social distancing - so nice that we can enjoy some adult (or kid) beverages, good food from the daily food trucks, and some normalcy with our neighbors and family in this new location. WHOOPS! Just realized that the name of the business is DRUMLIN and not THE DRUMLIN. Sorry! :)
