"The Congo Square Drummers started gathering in Prospect Park informally in 1968, and it's been going every since: You can still catch this drum circle every Sunday, from April through October, 2pm to dusk. It's particularly fun for kids. "

Nice space and a continuation of the bike/walking loop through Prospect Park. Only issue is lots of homeless, you keep to yourself they typically leave you alone.

There was a fun parade and drumming circle happening today in this area, bringing out the community and having a good time.

Such a beautiful experience to be in a location of ancestral practice. Lined with trees, sitting stumps, and wooden benches, the Drummers Grove is a place to connect with yourself and friends. Conveniently located near taxis, the Q train, and one of the many parks entrances, the Drummers Grove is easily accessible. On Sunday's dancers, vocalists, and drummers from all around come together and just sing, dance, drum, laugh and rejoice in this historic site!

Omg!! I love the energy and there is nothing but pure vibes. The drums and the different people coming together with their instruments to play definately calls on the ancestors. I can't stay away from Drummer's Grove

Yelp
WHO: Party of 2 WHY: Sunday Funday WHAT: (Deets)After hanging out at Lakeside, heading toward the exit to destination number 4 (or 5) of the day, I was drawn to the music. This open air community area brought me percussive sounds that invited my body to move with lightness as ease; it put a smile on my face (which admittedly isn't that tough). Adults and children alike of various ethnicities sit in a circle with their instruments on or between their laps and together create an unrehearsed harmony that is magic. WHEN: Sunday 4pm-ish WHERE: just right if the parkside/ Ocean Ave entrance HOW: car/ bike/ public transportation Dollar van bus: B12, B41, trains: Q BATHROOM: n/a WIFI: beats me DRESS CODE: as you like SERVICE: n/a BOTTOM LINE: This is supreme dopeness. Bring a drum (or don't), pop a squat (or stand or dance around) and participate (or people watch). TIP: bring a blanket, dance on the (dry) grass, bring the kiddies #drummersgrove #prospectpark
