Bar and Restaurant Owners React to Tennessee’s New Anti-Drag Bill | Eater

"A bar opened in 2008 as a dedicated safe space for the local queer community and operated as an adult-only venue; its owner worries that the vague language of recent anti-drag legislation could criminalize visible gender nonconformity and chill drag culture, even if the establishment itself may not face immediate raids, and she remains committed to keeping the venue welcoming and safe." - Jaya Saxena

Great food! Friendly atmosphere. If visiting the plantations and need a place to eat, it’s a little out of the way but worth it.

Very disappointed. I had the lunch special red beans, pork chop and lettuce with ranch dressing and a roll. For the price the portions should be more. The red beans was scorch and watery. The pork chop was dry and the salad had only lettuce and dressing no tomatoes. I heard the burgers was good though., so just get the burgers. Like I should have done. Damnit Man…

I’ve eaten a lot of shrimp poboys. This place nails it. Loaded with shrimp and quality bread. The prices are reasonable too.

There were a bunch of angry pirates inside while we were eating. They pulled their big old boat up onto the street and were blocking both lanes of traffic. They were fighting, spitting, yelling "Argh!" and stuff. A parrot exploded. One of the pirates hit me with his peg leg. It was super rude, but what do you expect from pirates? Doesn’t really reflect on the restaurant though. I didn't try the food. Brought my own lunch. Canned tuna. It was terrible. Dru's food smelled good though. Probably should get some oranges for the tables though, ya know, cause pirates get scurvy and stuff.

This is like a whole in the wall place. The prices are fair. Pretty good choices in food. I got the chicken tenders and fries, tasty. The ladies seemed really nice. They have tables for dine in or you can carry out. Seems like it use to be a bar (pub) The bar is still there. (Doesn't appear used anymore). No handicap parking or bathroom. The parking is a few spaces around building and some park across the street on River road (La-44). They close at 2 pm Hopefully this helps.

First time customer. Solid lunch spot. Food was hot and good service. We got a grilled chicken sandwich and the Monday special (jambalaya with white beans). Only negative was the little side piece of sausage that comes with the jambalaya was just ok.
