DTLA Bodega

First couple of times the sandwiches were pretty good , overpriced and customer service literally sucks but still good . Last couple of times it’s like they just in the slapping shit together . If o ask for one thing to be sub they’ll over do everything else . And will give you the wrong ingredients. Sucks this place was convenient ,close by and open late and shit is just disgusting now

The sandwiches are solid. Usually about a 15 min wait. Can’t call ahead. My only complaint is even with inflation and everything being expensive… this place is just ridiculously priced. Like almost every sandwich is basically about $17-$20 out the door, and for that price you would just expect a bigger sandwich or at least a drink and a some type of small side ! Like The sandwiches are solid but when you look at the size of it after you get it… it just doesn’t ever ever feel worth paying $20 for a small/medium size sandwich and still having to go buy a drink and some chips to go with it. Also make sure your order is correct before you leave. It’s pretty normal for them to forget condiments or make the sandwich inaccurate. Other than that lol if you really need a sandwich and Don’t mind it being overpriced, it lowkey hits the spot every time.

I remember when this place popped up and I was excited. It would be the only place to give LA Cafe a run for their money by being 24 hours and serving hot food. I also remember encouraging management to accept EBT as a marketing strategy, telling them it would NOT only allow access to additional revenue streams, but more importantly be INCLUSIVE by making the food more accessible to DTLA's population. I don't remember my advice being well received 😬 All in all, this place is OK. As a former New Yorker I was disappointed in the attempted fusion, their bacon egg and cheese bagels broke my spirit. However, as a local I'm grateful to have another option outside of The LA Cafe. Again, the food is OK, and NOTHING compared to a REAL bodega in NY. Pricey and a bit subpar feels like a legit description. I'm BIG on energy, ESPECIALLY when it comes to food and its preperation, that being said the customer service can also use some TLC. If you're STARVING and D -TOWN burger bar is closed, go for it🤣

I buy the veggie burger from them all the time so i was so disappointed that they gave a turkey burger instead! I took a huge bite and i havent ate meat in 15 years. So extremely disappointed. Please pay attention when you make peoples food!

This not the only first time the young kid messed up my order like I’m from the East Coast like he continuing to do this is unacceptable like I get my chop cheese n Philly sandwich here and sometime he messes up my order putting mushroom n pepper lettuce n tomato on my sandwich when I don’t ask for those stuff but only the cheese mayo grilled onions only on my meat like the owners n managers need to take action for this and I work for black rock deli plus in New York I used to manage deli n bodegas also please add sazon on the Philly n chop cheese that’s the real flavor to it

The bacon egg and cheese on a roll (a small breakfast sandwich) was good but it is $15 before tax. That’s just ridiculous. Like come on. They just taking it too far now. That’s like 300% profit which is just greedy. Pls actually put this sandwich on the menu and make it a reasonable price. Please.

I order from here all the time. They accept EBT. The prices are high but the burgers, hotdogs, chopped chicken and chopped steak are excellent. Plus they have THE BEST Oreo shakes! Everyone here is always friendly and helpful!

Love that it's open 24h. This is my go to for late night/ early morning food. Price appropriate for portions (I haven't been able to finish a sandwich in one sitting yet, not even the avocado toast). They have all the soda flavors and snacks on deck as well.... hidden gem!!!

This place is so cool, it's an all in one spot with some of the best sandwiches in town! Very clean and the staff is so nice. Parking is a little tough but if you're a native you know exactly what to do. They seem to always be fully stocked with the latest stuff. I had a bacon lettuce and cucumber sandwich it was delightful.

Not for me. I ordered the Chopped Cheese Sandwich and Macaroni Salad. Neither one of these items left me wanting more. I actually gave half of the sandwich to my coworker. He said he enjoyed it. I'm not saying the sandwich was good or bad. It's just not something I would order again. The Macaroni Salad was basically pasta and mayonnaise with little to no vegetables.

Ordered something from UberEats. I received the notification that the order was received and eventually the order was "likely ready". I arrived and was told that it would take 10 minutes because the girl was on break. I wasn't initially mad but I wasn't going to wait either. I asked if the order could be cancelled and call it a day. The manager said I have to do it on my end. I was initially okay with that but uber eats said I would be charged the full amount. I went back in and said it needs to be cancelled on their end, but the manager says they couldn't/wouldn't because all they receive is the ticket for the order. We all know in 2025 both parties have the right and ability to cancel an order, she just didn't want to deal with it. They were explicit about me waiting but the fact that they wanted me to wait after IT WASN'T STARTED TO BEGIN WITH and a refusal to cancel, I was not sticking around. If it was already started, totally understandable. And no, they weren't busy. The girl was on lunch. I called UberEats and they said they have to talk to the place to confirm (which was fair) but their number doesn't even go through. I even tried calling. It does not connect. So when that happens they won't credit/refund. The food is good but the experience does not justify getting it.

The chopped cheese sandwich was delicious. Me personally like the Bodega in Hollywood. There's no parking in DTLA.

Worst Veggie Burger Ever Ngl 1. They said "impossible" patty which is clearly not what was used here 2. I SPECIFICALLY asked for no tomato and no fried egg as I don't eat egg/meat/etc, we even went over it twice smh 3. the fries were soggy & bland (They gave me one ketchup packet, one mayo packet and ZERO NAPKINS) If the younger looking guy w glasses and the chipped tooth is at the register make sure he has your order correct and check before leaving the bodega. I was mad asf when I got home and opened this shit

If you're really missing NY then it's ok but it's definitely a gentrified version of a bodega. The food is way too expensive but not bad.

I've ordered online and been to this place in person. If you go, parking could be a challenge. I suggest early morning. I've gotten many of the sandwiches there, but my favorite is The Jerusalem. If you want a great lox and bagel, here in DTLA... not to easy to find, but if you want one, this is the place!

Very convenient little corner store. The pesto chicken sandwich is sooo good and was ready pretty quick.

Oh My Gosh! Eating while writing this review. All I could think is perfection. Finally a place where all the ingredients are the same amount. So fresh mouthwatering. 100/10. Definitely recommend. Buying here again for sure.

This spot is fire! If you know, you know! Order your sandwich online in advance! They do take a minute to make but they are DELICIOUS. Parking is tough but if you're a local or know how to get around down town, you'll be good.

I got The Jojo and my bf got the Chopped Cheese, we split half with each other & they were both so bomb! the Chopped Cheese was juicy & melted in my mouth. The Jojo was very fresh & healthy. It was my first time trying this spot & I was satisfied!

i ordered 1 saba sandwich and they said it would be 10 minutes. They repeated the order out loud. I wait 30+ minutes and then when I get home I realize that they gave me 2 different sandwiches with customizations I didn't even ask for? I'm just confused what the point in ordering even is

Old owners came back. This place is fire. Best sandwiches in DTLA and finally have their full menu and quality back. Prices dropped last year and now they are the most affordable and best NY style deli sando you can find. Chopped cheese with oil and vin.

This updated review is long overdue. Both the owner and manager reached out to me regarding my issue and rectified the problem. It still holds true these sandwiches are good, pricey (but what isn't nowadays) but good. Flavorful, chewy yet soft bread and not dry, how a sandwich should be. Simple, yet delicious. Love how they are open 24/7, hate the no parking situation but it comes with the DTLA territory. Thank you again for making my experience better!

I've come here multiple times post clubbing at Exchange and I've not been disappointed once when I've come here. Ordering here is quick and easy and they have a wide variety of sandwiches and drinks to choose from. They have a nice market on the right from when you come in and carry a lot of things you would normally see in a bodega. I also love the fact that they are open 24 hours and you can come in at anytime as well! On my most recent visit, I ordered the Jojo sandwich which was excellent! They don't skimp on their sandwiches here and fill them to the brim with lots of meats and veggies depending on what you order and their bread is seemingly delivered fresh everyday! I loved the massive pile of turkey mixed with the garlic aioli on the roll with all the vegetables on top making my belly full and happy especially after clubbing for several hours! Most of the sandwiches are around $11-$17 depending on what you order and they are worth the price! I am looking forward to coming here in the future for more tasty sandwiches! I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a place to eat after a long night out, you won't be disappointed! This place gets a 5/5 from me!

Brah! Is this place for real life?!? OMG, don't sleep on it cause sandwiches are soooo BOMB! And they're open for delivery 24/7. Did I die and wake up in New York? The chicken pesto sandwich is one of the best I've ever had. I added avocado (which I highly recommend)! The sandwich came to me warm, thick and all fresh-like at 6am ( yah I work/keep weird hours) Toasted ciabatta bread, no skimping on the chicken, warm gooey mozzarella and scrumptious pesto. It was absolutely delightful and big enough for me to make 2 meals out of. Hats off to the kitchen crew! Will definitely order again and try some other stuff. Really impressed!

Got the Jojo sandwich and it's not bad but not good either. Honestly it was kinda plain, and the avocado portions were wonky (one side had a shiton, the other side had barely). The flavors were not memorable as it tastes like a sandwich you'd get at a to-go store (like Walmart or Vons/Ralphs). It's a decent value ($14) but there are better delis. There's a lot more on the menu that I have to try (i.e chopped cheese) and I will update my review then. The store stuff like water and cereals are expensive but whadday expect for a 24/7 bodega in LA with no one else to compete against? All in all, I give 4 stars for the convenience and store hours.

The chopped cheese is my go-to. They take their time because they really put a lot of effort into making your sandwich perfectly, which makes it worth it- good service. Ambiance is what you'd expect from a bodega- small but packed with household items/toiletries/smokeables and good eats.

Had the bagel with bacon and green onion. It was just okay. I also tasted the veggie one and the bagel tasted odd.

Horrible service The owner guy & manager lady are the worst Paid $16 for a burrito w extra meat & they gave me a horrible ham sandwich.. went the next day to tell them about it & they called me a liar & the owner tried to fight me. Living off spring street this place is a MUST TRY. Even if you're just visiting. DELICIOUS Sammy's Chill service- takes about 15 min for them to make it Ambiance is a corner store so o can't imagine you chillin there but they have snacks and drinks

Went to this place because I saw good reviews, I wanted to try out a NY chopped cheese for the first time. Food was absolutely delicious, I got that and a bag of chips and a drink as a side. Whole meal costed me $22-$24 initially. Why I say initially is because I had only put in 12 minutes in my meter thinking they were going to make it quickly, I was the only person in the whole shop. Maybe one person came in for a uber eats but that was already ready to be picked up. It took them about 18-20+ minutes to make my one sandwich. I was getting a bit worried about my meter knowing it had or was about to expire and when I finally got my food I go straight to my car and find a ticket that was written and printed 2 minutes prior. Had this place not taken an absurd amount of time to make my one sandwich then I would've been back at my car quick enough to not get a $63 ticket, which all in all makes this meal I paid for $85-$86. I just wish they would've mentioned that the amount of time they were gonna take to make my sandwich so that I could've gone and put more time in my meter. Other than that, the place looks like a decent bodega, the lady was nice. I'm just upset about this parking ticket and the amount of time it took to make my sandwich. They won't be paying for this parking ticket, if they are going to take their sweet time on making food Without being in a rush, they should sure mention it to their customers. I remember at one point while I was waiting I saw the cook run outside for something, and that amount of time essentially quadrupled the amount of money I have to pay.

Didn't expect much of DTLA Bodega at first. It's not in a great area, but the sandwiches are really great. We shared a Chopped Cheese no mustard and let me tell you, it was delicious! I had never had a real NYC Chopped cheese before so I can't really compare, but I think this one was really great.

Went there for a bagel this morning. First of all $10 for an everything bagel with nothing but cream cheese. I'm only leave 4 stars because both of the times I've ordered from here I've paid $2.50 for a damn pickle with my sandwich and NEVER got 1! Over priced, no NYC vibes at all. Chopped cheese for around 18 dollars is criminal. Is you are going to gentrify DTLA, at least have a conscious and have working class prices. Even in NYC they 10 dollars max. Also, if you really a bodega, dont take 20 minutes a sandwich, ninjas in nyc would riot over that wait. Get it together.

After witnessing the Suns destroying the Lakers in a depressing fashion, we looked for a place to grab a bite near Staples. I found this place on yelp and made my way there. I'm a big fan of NYC and its bodegas, so this was a welcome sight. There were people smoking crack outside and the dude in front of me wanted to fight the cashier because he wouldn't take his credit card. Nice. I ordered the chopped cheese and it was pretty effing good. Fairly priced at 10.95 (for LA at least), the quality was obvious with the bread, meat, vegetables, and their homemade pickles were fire. If I lived in DTLA I'd be at this place on the regular. This place is open 24/7 too. Perfect for late night munchies.

Bomb sandwiches but they NEVERRRRR give me the pickles I order and when I order a Dr.p or a root beer it doesn't come. When I call they said they only have coke so they didn't put anything in my bag ( they could of called me ) but I'm still having to pay for it. Makes no sense

This is the only chopped cheese Ive ever had but damn it's tasty. My boyfriend ordered that turkey sandwich everyone's raving about. Honestly just tasted like red onion and just bland. Will eventually try some others but also feel like I'll have that chopped cheese fomo

Id rate negative if I could . I use to go here regularly due to my schedule & this place is convenient as hell- but every time I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Roaches on the counters. The drinks are practically never cold (employees said fridges have been broken for months now). One cook constantly got my orders wrong and complained/mean mugged if I asked for them to remake it. One night I asked for a remake 3 times because I expressed my food allergies and they continued to give me sandwiches that had cross contamination / what I was allergic to in it- I just gave up. Employees tell customers the blenders broken so they won't have to make shakes. No gloves / glove swap. Will wipe their nose and then make your food/drink . This could be an amazing place if it was cared for more. Now I go no more.

Plain and simple. USD 20.00 for a pastrami sandwich that is not even 9 inches? Not even Subway is that expensive. Was that pastrami imported? Worst sandwich ever tasted. Certainly not ever buy from these thieves. The only good thing about them is that they are open late. If anybody is interested in them, go ahead;convince yourself to eat somewhere else. It seems that all the places open late in downtown are for palates drunk enough not to distinguish between decent food from garbage. Not giving them a second chance.
