I am from the Netherlands, but I’m not going to be biased, we stop by on our break from transporting children. I drive on Lowe Boulevard every day and I saw the sign double Dutch or like what is that so I went on Google and like I said we went there and it was the best sandwich that both me and my coworker had he said this is delicious and I think it has to do of course with the cheese, the fresh bread and the wonderful lady that made our sandwiches. They were so good we almost turned around And one more. I love this place because it’s the only place in this area that has Dutch groceries like licorice and all kinds of other delicious goodies customer for life, Thank you Eefje.

I have been ordering my favorite dutch goodies from this store for years and am so happy to have found them! They have all of the traditional things that are hard to find elsewhere, and each time I order things they are always packed carefully and arrive quickly. Bedankt Dubbel Dutch!

This is a great little find! Sweet and simple sandwich/lunch place serving Netherland-inspired comfort food and drinks. Plus they have a whole wall of grocery/type shelves filled with Dutch imported goodies! Currently Fully stocked with holiday favorites like chocolate letters :). Brings me back to my great-grandparents handing out the special dutch treats at Christmastime. What a cute little spot Dubbel Dutch is, plus the owner is really nice and was willing to chat for a bit :). She gets all of her goodies directly from the Netherlands. I recommend this Authentic little spot and I’m happy to have come across it!

The sandwiches are handmade and delicious! The store offers a variety of Dutch candies and goods. I don't know the lady who runs the store but she is friendly and kind.

What a wonderful and unexpected “find” for us as we drove through Denver on the way skiing (and then back again today). We felt like we were back in NL (erg gezellig sfeer een lekker eten)! On the way out, we loaded up on some Dutch treats and today, ate our fill in traditional Dutch sandwiches. Eef was an amazing owner and treated us like old friends! I even left with a couple of Dutch language novels and a bag of stroopwafels. Het was zo erg leuk and we were sad to leave for our flight. Dank je wel, Eef!!!

This is the cutest shop! Excellent euro style sandos... er broodjes, and Dutch and Indo goods. They have Sambal Brandal! Iykyk. The owner is the sweetest lady and you feel instantly at home in this tiny spot. Make sure you remember to fill an assortment bag of licorice before you check out! Heel lekker

Cute little Dutch sandwich shop that also sells all sorts of Dutch goodies. The vibe is real chill and my son and I love going here after a long week of work. The sandwiches are hand made by the owner with love.

I have been wanting to come here but been waiting for the bitterballen to be restocked and today I stopped by to get some. It was $12 for 10, they come frozen so you have to deep fry them at home. I also ordered a chicken curry sandwich which was good, it came on a French baguette. Small business really cute I'll come back.

Love a neighborhood shop like this to meet up for a quick meeting or to catch up with a friend. They have fresh sandwiches and salads. I chose the goat cheese salad, which came with honey mustard dressing. The salad was simple with spring greens and spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers & goat cheese. The space is quaint with a few out door seats available too. I would have preferred lighter dressing with the salad so as to not cover up the goat cheese but it was a good salad. The service was swift and pleasant.

Nice small spot to get your Dutch specialty foods or eat a sandwich 'hagelslag' right there. Very friendly owner and it was a pleasure having a chat with her earlier today. We got some Dutch treats and Indonesian spices today. Come check them out and have a grilled cheese sandwich with Dutch cheese!

What a find! I love little spots like this and try to support the local businesses whenever I can in my travels. I ordered a salad, and a sandwich and was thrilled with the fresh ingredients and the wonderful aroma that came with them. If you looking for a healthy meal & great service all at a reasonable price you've got to go! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

What a fun unique place! My wife and I stopped in for a lunch on a Saturday and we're pleasantly surprised by the Dutch hospitality! The owner works by herself so give her some time to make your sandwich. All sandwiches come with a bag of chips, nothing crazy but a nice touch :) their menu is very unique but can be very simple too, so perfect for anyone. I tried the Lille, and substituted onions for the red peppers which she did without compliant, and my wife got the Turkey with only Mayo, tomato, and cheese and the owner was more than happy to accommodate. The sandwiches were pretty tasty! The Brie on mine was fabulous. They aren't the greatest sandwiches in the world but for only $7, I'm not complaining! There's also a Dutch little grocery section inside that was really cool to look through and ask questions about! It may not be a gourmet 5 star restaurant but we will be back!

Great spot! Friendliest service I have received in a long time. Super sweet. My husband and I got two sandwiches. We split the salmon and Palermo. Both were delicious. Highly recommend!

Great authentic Dutch food! Love this place! Lived in the Netherlands for 3 years and this establishment takes me back!

So glad I consulted Yelp before settling for a basic Subway sandwich on our road trip. I feel lucky to have found this spot. We ordered two Palermos, a Cyprus, and a turkey. All were delicious and fresh, and so much more satisfying than what you'd get at one of the chains. Bonus if you're also hankering for some licorice, other gummies, or Dutch packaged goods. Such a great little shop!

Amazing store! If you're Dutch or just want to try some European food, go get some stuff here! The owner is very sweet and the panini's are fantastic. Fresh and very flavorful for a good price!

The store hours are a bit flaky. I left work early to check out this store before 5pm. I arrived at 4:40pm (20 min before closing - and the store was already closed. Don't have store hours or post opening hours if you don't stick to them ‍. Second visit; it was open!! But for 5-10min there was nobody there... was looking around - shouting "hello" but nobody. Guess I could have gone stopping on a credit note? This said; it's a small family run store - it's nice - unique - boutique - but they could you some help. They did give me a free sandwich for my trouble / closing early at my first visit. I'll be returning but may give them a call before my next visit

I unfortunately couldn't get past the fact that they served the sandos on the stalest of breads. Each bite I took sent a sea of breadcrumbs flying in every direction. The roof of my mouth ? Scarred for life. I feel bad for hating on this mom and pop shop but there was no way they couldn't tell how old the bread was when preparing the sandwich.

Delicious sandwiches made with fresh ingredients, a great selection of Dutch foods and cookies, and a friendly owner who's always happy to take a phone order for my favorite curry chicken salad. A little piece of the Old Country here on the Northside .

The owner is so nice! We got 3 different sandwiches and they were so delicious. I got the burgundy, my mom got the Tuscany, and my dad got the old Amsterdam. They were so good. She also helped this homeless guy outside. He was leaving the area and she helped him with stuff he dropped and made sure he was ok. I highly recommend supporting her business!

Was excited to try this place since not much for lunch in the area. The lady working there is super nice, but it was only her working on a busy Friday so it took a while to get a sandwich because she was making one order at a time. But biggest disappointment was the sandwich itself. It's a sandwich I could of easily made at home. Nothing special so probably won't go back.

When I went to school, my roommate was Dutch, and one of his best friends was from Suriname, which was a colony of The Netherlands until 1975. Needless to say, I became familiar almost to the point of intimacy with certain aspects of Dutch culture. So when I discovered this little place near Regis University, it brought back a flood of memories indeed as I perused the aisles of Dutch and Indonesian (another former Dutch possession) items. On my visits I did not see any explicitly Surinamese or Antillean goods, but your mileage may vary. As you look at the berry and other fruit juices you may see quite a few from my ex-roommate's home town, Zaandam, which is known for its orchards. But don't stop there. There is also the deli case. front and (sort of) center, to think about - maybe some Gouda or Edam is in your future? And then there are those sweet Stroopwafels - take a pre-syruped Eggo and condense it into a cookie and you'll get the basic idea. And don't forget the packets of Conimex sauce and seasoning mixes for sultry Indonesian delights like the fried rice dish called Nasi Goreng. If you're really peckish you can try one of their specialty sandwiches showcasing their tasty meats and cheeses. Truly, there is something for everyone at Dubbel Dutch. Dank U wel.

Lovely little hole in the wall for your 'Broodje Gezond' and Dutch treats. I enjoy the patio during the sunny days. Good place to plan a visit to around Sinterklaas 5th December, for some special St. Nicolas treats. If the local Dutch population hasn't raided the store by then. Love the owner, Eef, who plays some strings in the local bars too.

This place is unique! Super authentic Dutch food, and at great prices. There are even Dutch licorice candies to sample, and many other grocery items to purchase. The owner is very nice, and even gives students a discount! Would definitely recommend supporting this cute local business!

I live nearby Dubbel Dutch, so naturally I go there regularly. Everything I have had there is delicious. I am a big fan of the salads, but the sandwiches are great too! Don't listen to reviewers who say the bread is stale. I see the owner bringing in fresh bread every morning. It is just a harder, European bread. I usually always buy one of the adorable Dutch treats along the wall, as well. I highly recommend the cheese straws and the mint chocolate.

Fantastic service and delicious food. The Dutch menu is unique to the area and it's close to a college campus so the clients are almost all college kids. The seating is limited so it'd be recommended the sandwich be made to go but if the weather is right there is plenty of patio seating. I I enjoyed an chicken salad sandwich and it was perfect and filling. If you're looking unique Dutch market items are also available.

Dubbel Dutch is an amazing little sandwich shop. I'm marrying into a Dutch family, and, to be honest, the Dutch are a weird people, so I'm trying to observe the culture as a learning experience. It's a little hole in the wall that serves sandwiches, salads, and coffee. I scarfed down an "Old Amsterdam" sandwich which was absolutely amazing. If you like cheese, bread, and vegetables, do yourself a favour and try this sandwich. In addition to the freshmade food Dubbel Dutch also includes a little Dutch market with all sorts of Dutch treats (although I'm becoming convinced that half of the average Dutchperson's diet consists of licorice and licorice related items). Grab a box of stroopwafles and enjoy.

I have worked nearby for four years. It is a really cute shop, they have unique sandwiches and I have high hopes since it is so close to work but every time we go in, there is something wonky about the food. Today my salmon sandwich was on really hard bread. The roof of my mouth hurts. My friends tuna was very hastily prepared with big chunks of iceberg lettuce. His bread was equally stale. Maybe because it was later in the day? They boast that the bread is delivered fresh every morning. I have only seen one person doing the preparation and it takes a little bit to get your order. Also, you get a bag of Costco chips - just seems to lose something in the translation. There are only four seats inside and two little tables on the sidewalk (not very picturesque).

I hate to knock another Yelper's review, but if you're looking for health food, you should NOT be visiting a sandwich shop! Hello, carbs much? And really... if your biggest complaint about the place is that the sandwiches are "laden with meat, mayo, cheese or all three," you might want to stick to the rice cake aisle in your local King Soopers. Secret Insider Tip: shhhhh.... I hear that if you ask a sandwich barista for, "no mayo, please," you're not likely to end up with it on your sandwich. Don't tell anyone... That said, Dubbel Dutch is Dubble Delish! The shop is beyond cute, with its shelves of authentic Dutch candies and foods. The sandwiches here are VERY creative and VERY well done. I had the Smoked Salmon Sub on my most recent visit... piles of lox, cream chese, cukes, tomato, and capers... big, filling, and only $5.95. There's another option called The Amsterdam which is just dripping with Havarti cheese... I haven't had it yet but it's on my list. I'm totally getting on the Dubble Dutch Bus (the Dubble Dutch Bus)!!

I am torn on this one! I love the fact I can get some goodies from home (Netherlands) that will not be found anywhere else - unless you live in Colorado Springs and want to pay higher prices at Boonzaijer's Bakery. There is a fairly sizable Dutch community in the Denver and Boulder area. For these folks, this place will seem like heaven. For people who are not used to dutch licorice and other specialties, this place will seem like a let-down. I have been there twice. The first time was an event. The bread WAS fresh - obviously. The sandwiches (The Amsterdam) which is a typical dutch sandwich was very good. The fact that it came with those boring chips does not bother me. Do you really think Subway or other places get them from a different place? The second time we went there, I will admit it was somewhat of a let-down sandwich-wise. They did not have any egg - it was though 15 minutes before close time. So I can not fault them on that too much. I loaded up on dutch specialty items, which seemed to be a little depleeted. I give it 4 stars for dutch specialty items. That is what I really go for - not the sandwiches.

Being raised in the Netherlands and transporting to Colorado last year I was so excited to see a place like this. I walked in and it felt so familiar and great. (The products) Owner came out after I was there so long. No greeting. This is not normal. Rude in fact. I found her unpleasant. There were no sandwich or food she would make. Some reason about supplies or what not. I bought some lovely cheese and a few other goods I missed and left. Made my own damn broodje at home with no staring woman! Since the lovely Dutch cheeses were there for sale I do not understand what product she can not find local that was missing to make lunch with. I will find another way to satisfy my craving.

I'm Dutch-Indo so I was pretty stoked to find out there was a Dutch Store here in Colorado! Drove a long way, but I'm not sure I'll come back. The Sandwiches are OK, the Old Amsterdam was unique, and the kids I had with me were pretty happy with their sandwiches (Italian, Chicken Salad, Mediterranean) ....but the bread was a bit dry, not too many drinks to choose from in the frig and we noticed she used grocery store meat. Like, we saw her open the packages. :-( Considering the prices, that bummed me out a lot. The outdoor patio area was nice, it's a very quiet street, saw a lot of locals taking a walk with their dogs. I did walk away with fun Dutch Groceries I only see when I visit my family in L.A. Sate' Packets, REAL Speculaas, Dutch Chocolate, and Hopjes! They also have a good amount of boxed goods from Holland.......Pannekoeken Mixes etc, mostly for breakfast or dessert items. Ah well, the owner was very pleasant and nice........but I think maybe I was expecting too much due to our long drive. I heard there are Dutch Shops in Colorado Springs, I may try those.

What a great place...good food, cute (and quant) atmosphere, and kind management. Not much more to ask. Their sandwiches are real good with a neat flare for the tradition of the Netherlands. The place also houses traditional condiments and packaged foods for purchase from that mainland. Enjoy!

I wouldn't listen to the haters, I've been a frequent visitor at Double Dutch for the past year and a half and have never regretted one sandwich I've bought. Love the panini's, sandwiches are fantastic, and the staff is local and friendly. I'd probably buy some of the Holland goods they have available but I can't translate the packaging -.- If you like goat cheese try the Barcelona (with pineapples).

I've been a student at Regis University for 3 years now, which means Dubbel (correct spelling, I promise) Dutch is one block off campus. Here's the bottom line: 1. Be reasonable: this shop is owned and operated by 1 woman (sometimes 2), so expect is a great dutch sandwich/salad from a great dutch lady, and maybe some imported Dutch groceries. 2. If weeds OUTSIDE of a restaurant prevent you from eating there, then return to your castle immediately, princess (read posts below for context). 3. I've had maybe 50 sandwiches from this place in my 3 years experience and I've been very rarely dissatisfied, so I hope you'll take my word for it. I don't mean to be rough in this review to other users, but I wanted to give what I hoped would be a fair, honest and reasonable review. P.S. there are some odd sandwich choices on the menu (it IS authentic Dutch) so if you want some safe choices, I'd recommend the Touch of Italian or the Mediterranean.

After driving 30 mins, I get told rudely by the owner "we are out of bread!" Are you kidding me? Then she says "well this bread here is reserved for later for tonight..." I don't even know what that means but I didn't wanna get in a screaming match with her. The lack of customer service will keep me from returning. She needs a lesson in American hospitality...

Super clean and comfortable hotel. Proximity to the financial district and best restaurants was a plus.

OK Denver Dutch Girls and Boys....Dubbel Dutch is a must see, a must eat, and a must shop! I tried to find salt licorice in Manhattan last week and Yelp guided me to this store in Denver. Who knew the best shop would be in my own backyard! The shop owner is very helpful and fabulously Dutch! I highly recommend the Veggie sandwich and you should let her pick your cheese!

This place has received some good reviews from the papers so I checked it out twice. First time was unspectacular. I had their signature sandwich which was a little heavy on the cream cheese on a stale baguette. Not a good start. My girlfriend got the food the second tme. She said the employees were having issues with the panini machine. After some reverse engineering, it sounds like these hashed out employees of a Dutch bakery fixed the machine and made my panini. THe sandwich was better than the first but I expected more given the reviews from the paper. The fact the sandwich was served with a small bag of Ruffles kind of turned me off since it then becomes clear that Sams Club is where this place procures its inventory. To be fair, my girlfriend loved her sandwich so while I am 0 for 2, I may give it another shot and chalk up the past reviews to bad choices.

The place wasn't bad but all these great reviews and I literally watched them take my turkey out of an Oscarmayer bag! I can just go to the fridge for that!

I was not impressed by this little sandwich shop touting "Denver's Best Sandwich". The bread was stale and something on my sandwich tasted way off. I didn't finish it. The combination of toppings was unique so that is good. I did enjoy browsing the various grocery items in the store. I don't live in the area so I don't think I will be back.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and every time it has been amazing! Their sandwiches are unique and delicious. The are known for the Old Amsterdam sandwich and it is really one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten...unfortunately now I crave it all the time! Their chicken salad is delicious too--it is curry, which I love. I would highly recommend this place. The owner is very friendly and the place is small but cute.

It's a nice concept, but there's not much healthful fare to choose from. This is a VERY European spot, with plenty of Dutch goodies on its shelves, like licorice and cookies and crackers. The sandwich board includes only a few sandwiches and salads, which are freshly prepared, but usually laden with meat, mayo, cheese or all three. I guess Dutch people eat a lot of rich food. Anyway, I'll sometimes grab the tomato and mozzarella panini, which includes pesto and pine nuts and it is very good! Still, I feel like I need to work out for an hour afterwards! I've also had the tuna salad which is not too great. Prices are about average, if a little high.

A hidden gem in the Berkeley-Regis neighborhood for lunch or a quick cup of coffee! Delicious and refreshing sandwiches that are a decent price (discount for Regis students!). And don't forget the small market stock of Dutch chocolate, other sweets and goods! Great service and nothing not to love about this place!

This was a very cute little sandwich shop. The 2 ladies that worked there were super friendly. I tried one of their paninis and it was really good. Loved it:)
