"Thankfully, this long-running Irish bar in Dallas hasn’t changed much in several decades. While it doesn’t serve traditional Irish dishes, this is always ground zero for St. Patrick’s Day revelers, especially those who have attended the parade just up the block on Greenville. Consider skipping the parade on St. Paddy’s Day and getting to the bar early when it opens at 8 a.m. for an Irish coffee." - Courtney E. Smith, Alaena Hostetter

"One of the city's longest-standing Irish pubs offers plenty of opportunities to warm up: there's a fireplace in the corner, a huge selection of Scotch and Irish whiskey, and tasty hot drinks like a classic Irish Coffee or the Knox Chox, hot cocoa spiked with butterscotch schnapps." - Alaena Hostetter, Whitney Filloon

Great place to get a nice draft beer and watch some soccer or just catch up with friends. Local gem, quiet and not much noise like the other bars around.

I came across Dubliner Irish Pub by accident, pub crawling down Greenville. The bar is nice enough, and lacking  vast amounts of dark brown and black paint for it to be called other than semi-grungy. Upscale dive-ish, maybe. I was served by two bartenders. The first was Sarah, who was prompt and professional but no warmth, friendliness. It wouldn't have bothered me so much but she was so cheerful and friendly with so many others who came up to the bar. The dark side of “Cheers.”  I guess. The other bartender was Courtney, who was fairly spectacular with her fake Halloween blood and low cut blouse. Also very professional and prompt, and oh by the way friendly. Although the bar had a nice vibe I don't know if I'll be back.

I don't think we came on the right day.... I make a pitstop in Greenville every other week for Dinner with the Bestie. We have driven by this place on 5 different occasions trying to find a place to park to stop in a see what it is like. We finally made it in there the other day. We were determined and drove in circles looking for the parking lot. Never did find it, but I called and they moved a cone out front for us. That was super cool of them. Upon entering, there was a nice big bar with plenty of options. The bartender was friendly and the pub had lots of room inside. The place looked like a pub...lots of wood features, casual and friendly atmosphere, but sadly, there was no food. We were pretty bummed out about having no food cause we were so hungry, they said we could bring food in or have it delivered, however, the day we went, a man ended up passing out and the ambulance had to come. He ended up being ok after awhile. This place has potential, but I don't plan on going back.

I didn't eat but the Guinness is poured right and perfect every time! Wendy is a sweetheart and took care of everything! Might be a small but the place is warm and great for a night cap. Highly recommend

St Patrick's day weekend I popped in and loved it. Food was good music was awesome and I couldn't understand the one guy who was the manager bc his Irish accent was heavy. Love it

Google
Great small little Irish pub. The bartenders are to notch and attentive. Good selection of imports and a great draw of Guinness. This place is small and only had two 1 seat bathrooms...be prepared. There is outside seating that not near enough people take advantage of.

Google
Incredibly rude bar staff on Wed 4/27. They treated my husband and I like we were an inconvenience. I asked if the kitchen was open and the response was an eye roll with a “mm hmm” and when asking how late food was served (it was 9:30pm at the time), the response was “…umm whenever it feels right.” They treated everyone else that came into the bar with a warm reception. The beer was also pretty nasty from dirty taps. I’ll never go back to this place again.

Google
I always enjoy it out here. It's always my first recommendation when going to drink with friends and it's never disappointed. It has a real tavern/pub feel to it and has a great selection of beer. The cheese board is also top notch. Enjoy!

Yelp
Feels very cozy in here. And old. Seems like a divey, casual, simple spot that hasn't changed in decades. The bar down the street. Wooden tables and a long wooden bar to belly up to. The menu doesn't say "Irish pub" to me. There's sandwiches, brats, pizza, fries, a cheese board, hummus and pita. Specials are written on a chalkboard overhead and there's almost a diner-like feeling. We didn't order food but the sandwiches around us looked and smelled delicious. Next time I'll order the charcuterie. They only had a couple ciders which is kind of disappointing, but at least they had something besides Angry Orchard. Of course there's plenty of beer and whiskey to choose from. Our bartender was nice, service is casual and no one's in a rush. Just a very laid back "stay awhile" kind of feeling that can be hard to find.

Yelp
Great local pub. Mom and pop type vibes! Not much parking in the area. Surrounded by tons of other cute spots all walking distance. Very small and intimate.

Izzie P.

Yelp
Pretty chill bar! Friendly staff and what seems to be the regulars. Fun little daft area too!

Michaela P.

Yelp
Came for the after party. Great little bar with friendly service and not too outrageous prices. Bar, lounge, and patio seating. TVs with the game on. Darts in the back.

Chandler M.

Yelp
Fish and chips were good. The service was fast and friendly and although lots of people were there, we didn't wait long for a seat. Honestly, we have not lived in Dallas in quiet a while, but this popped up and asked for a review.

Jim C.

Yelp
No food served Good cold beer and service Nice little pub Free parking Wish they had food

Bob C.

Yelp
I've been to the Dubliner half a dozen times in the last decade, always with friends that lived in the area that frequented regularly, so I always assumed the great service was because they were regulars. I live 180 miles away, so it's not usually an option for me. This time, I was in town and taking friends that had never been. Guinness, Harp's, and Smithwick are all on tap. We were there all afternoon watching a Cowboys game and had great service the entire time. Jerry the bartender has been there for about six years, so consistency appears to be the norm.

Becca S.

Yelp
I liked the bar much more than my date. Comfortable chairs, wood paneled walls, and I have it on good authority that they poor an awesome Guinness. The bartender was friendly, as were the guys sitting at the bar. The music was good and varied, and I tried one of their signature cocktails, the grapefruit mule. It was tasty. My only beef with this place is the same with everything on lower Greenville, the parking sucks!

David B.

Yelp
Peter, Mic, and Vinny make all the guests feel very comfortable, welcome, and set to enjoy a neighborhood bar feel with cozy corners and great TVs to watch the game. You truly feel like you're in an old pub where you would expect to find harsh stories from character straight out of the book. If you're looking for a nouveau riche with fancy lighting clearly you're not in a bar to engage with other people and enjoy a relaxing evening. I took advantage of learning about this establishment through the whiskey pairing dinner, which is well documented in the myriad of photos. What can't be seen in the photos, is the incredible service that is consistently applied throughout the bar. An empty glass doesn't sit, the patron doesn't have to ask for water, and regular stops by different employees to ensure a good time by all. They know their whiskeys, beers, and have a fun assortment of cocktails. A couple of highlight items on the menu: A good selection of Texas whiskeys, and an incredible selection of Irish whiskeys. As for price point it's fair and realistic, they clearly want people to be regulars and are not looking to gouge people for a one time stop. As for the menu it's very limited over all, but a fair selection of sandwiches that could match a variety of interests and desires. I look forward to going back and working my way through the various whiskeys they have.

Yelp
Well considering it's the last week of 2016 one would hope the customer service would be strong to end the year off right granted we had our beers promptly poured, but not without aside of sassiness as far as I'm concerned being in a group of customer service I don't think it was cool that the bartender said that we should have said hello before he decided NOT to tell us that there were NO servers available when we sat in the corner booth. Either way we efficient got UP and carried our four- correction 15 drinks to our table and enjoyed them without a server. Happy New Year's Dallas that is all.

Yelp
Hidden gem in the land of bar food. First--those meatballs on the meatball sliders taste familiar. Well of course they do, who wouldn't recognize Jimmy's meatballs?! Always great. Also, they make the best turkey club I've ever had. I don't know what kind of sorcery they have going on in the kitchen but I like it. When you get chips they are served with a side of horseradish spread. I'm not a big potato chip fan but I am when they are smeared with that spread. And don't forget the pizza. I think it's off-menu, but it's also good. I have a friend who is a big fan of dinner at the bar and this is one place that we can always go to for good food and great drinks. The bartenders are really friendly too. I don't feel awkward eating at the bar. They make it feel super inclusive. Def a great place to hang out.

Chandler S.

Yelp
The service isn't much, but the food is always good! I should have take a picture of the cheese board before I ate most of it. The bread is warm, cheeses are delicious and the fruit is fresh. It is enough for 2-4 people.

Jack O.

Yelp
Beer is cold. Jameson is in a shot glass. What else is there? Okay, there's a turkey club. And what the hell is that with the chips?! It's horseradish stuff. I didn't even know I liked horseradish stuff and what not. And there's pizza. Pizza good. Service is a 10, and not a dive bar 10. It's a straight up 10. I could become a regular here.

Andre L.

Yelp
Run of the mill Irish pub but with rude staff. The service was terrible. There are plenty of other bars to choose along Greenville. I'd recommend avoiding Dubliner and going to any other establishment.

Matt B.

Yelp
Brought a large group of co-workers in here one evening after a work event. We were nearby at a restaurant when we decided to give Dubliner a try. We walked in and looked at the wall of draughts as everybody considered what drinks they wanted. One female colleague politely asked the bartender if it's a full bar, making sure it wasn't beer and wine only as the presentation provided itself. "Certainly looks that way" said the jackass bartender, as he smugly turned around and considered taking his own life. Another colleague politely asks "are these all your draughts?" while pointing to the rotators. "No" said the bartender, with little help or direction. Hey Mr Bartender, you know who you are - you aren't mad at us, you're mad at yourself! Sorry you didn't get a college education and you're now a career bartender, really. But do your employer a favor and don't let your unprofessionalism and apathetic attitude let a $3K tab walk out of the bar! We will make sure this word spreads quickly and help kill the place, no problemo

Marvin L.

Yelp
I ended up at this bar by mistake, well it was worth it. As soon as we got there, it was time for a RR break. We were greeted by two girls waiting in line for the their turn. The bathroom's have a tiny 5x5 foyer in front of them. Upon entering the bathroom I noticed it was just enough space to turn around. Since I wanted to try something different, I told the bartender who had jet black hair with half of it dyed bleach blonde to pick out a drink for me. She came back with a Hoegarrten, which had a slice of lemon on the edge of the glass. Now normally this would be considered a infraction of man law, since fruiting of the beer is not allowed. But I was 'drinking outside of the box' so I drank it. It was a yellow and cloudy concoction, tasted some sweetness, but all in all it was good. My friend had a Spaten Oktoberfest, which had a very dark reddish tent, he was pleased with it's taste. Tab: $11 Maybe I'm too use to drinking cheap American beer for $2.50, but $6 for for a pint? Wow. The place had a very long bar, and was filled with smoke and people wearing soccer outfits, and everyone casually dressed. Cool place overall. Have to get back at the beginning of the night sometime, with some money.

Lisa D.

Yelp
Nothing really Irish about the place but the name and decor, but the drinks flowed and my grilled cheese wasn't bad. The menu was... lacking. I was hoping for some shepherd pie or a good fish and chips, but the menu had items like pizza, meatball subs and a Mediterranean salad. So, disappointed in that. Pro tip: there are no servers. You have to get up and order at the bar like you would at a proper pub, but no one tells you that.

Adryan F.

Yelp
It's not a bad bar. I've been here a few times. The Irish staples are there, it's clean, you have an intimate patio, and plenty of different seating. My only issue is the staff needs to work on their communication. I got double charged because one person wasn't talking to the other. I questioned it, and was promptly told "No, you're wrong...." Thankfully I had someone with me to validate basic math, went back and had it (reluctantly) resolved. HINT: If the customer is only arguing 10% of the bill -- FIX THE F'ING BILL.

Kristie A.

Yelp
The Dub and I have continued our 16 year romance. I won't go for a while, and then I'm there every weekend. The hot pressed ham and swiss cheese sandwich is about one of the best sandwiches I have put in my mouth. Delicious. I just love this cozy bar with all my heart!

Phillip D.

Yelp
Cool place I heard about but visited for the first time today. Nice selection of bottled beers and good draft options. It has that pub vibe and will have to do until I make that trip to Ireland I still haven't planned. My date and I (my lovely wife) split a Rueben and she had a margarita and I had a 20 oz Smithwick's on draft. The Rueben was great on marbled Rye with everything you need & Russian dressing on the side. The bartender made a mean margarita. Good thing since Diana eschews beer. Parking, of course, is terrible on Lower Greenville so either glom onto the parking behind the building for other places & take your chances or valet nearby. It's the only reason not 5 stars. Would Greenville be the same-even less appealing-without the parking challenges?

Casey G.

Yelp
Alright bar in a great location. Been here a couple of time real divvy not a huge beer selection actually I was kinda disappointed about that it's an Irish pub. They have a nice selection of whiskey but I'm a beer guy. Looks like they have there regulars. Good thing it right next to some bomb ass tacos.

Tracy T.

Yelp
Traveling for work, this place came recommended, although I'm not sure why. Typical Irish offerings, minus the jolly atmosphere and was in need of a major makeover. Shabby chic is very different than "completely worn and beat to death." Definitely aimed at regulars. If you don't come here, you will not be missing anything.

Michael Z.

Yelp
Horrible experience. My friends and I went here on St. Patricks day assuming we'd have a great time. While we were there a sloppy drunk guy continually tried to press himself onto the girls I was with. I asked him to leave us alone as we wanted to have fun and he got in my face but then walked away. Turns out the drunk man was the owner, Peter Kenny, who proceeded to have me thrown out by the bouncers and the owner himself sucker punched me as the bouncer pushed me out. When I asked the bouncers who stood at the door if this was common they shrugged and said, "Well he's the owner..." Moral of the story, don't go if you're a woman and don't want to be groped.

deborah m.

Yelp
I should have taken the picture before I had been eating for 30 minuets! The cheese board had delicious cheeses, fruits, olives, pickles crackers and a warm loaf of bread. It was very nice. One thing they could work on is their attitude toward the customers. They are not real friendly.

Daddy J.

Yelp
I was robbed in the parking lot of this place right behind the building. Owner and bartender came out and harassed me about waiting there for police, said "I was freaking people out", and kept asking me where I was from and communicated that this was no big deal, "it happens".... They harassed me after I was stolen from !!!...... 8/12/18 - I'm still highly aggravated about my treatment from these punks. guns were stolen out of my truck and they were only concerned about gettin me out of the parking lot...sorryness of the highest level -

Yelp
Remember that scene in "Trainspotting" when Mark Renten runs into the pub and then goes into "The Worst Toilet in Scotland"? Yeah, that's the toilet situation at The Dubliner. It doesn't detract from the rating I gave The Dubliner though, and actually, I think the toilet situation at The Dub adds to the pub's overall ambiance and appeal. The Dubliner is an Irish pub. In the fashion of a typical Irish pub, the interior is made of dark wood, the lights are dim, it's smoky, and its walls contain the tattooed, the pierced, and a smattering of foreigners. The Dubliner is a little rough around the edges and it likes it that way. The single toilet per bathroom and the 2 inches of pond scum on the men's bathroom floor are not only appropriate for an Irish pub, but it also serves to keep out the pretentious. It's like those bathrooms put up a force field, or cloak The Dubliner in invisibility, so that douche-bags and gold-diggers cannot get into the pub. I hope they never add on toilets or get good plumbing. Those toilets are here to protect us. The Dubliner has a fabulous selection of beer and single malt whiskey, and the food is pretty good too. The Irish aren't known for their cuisine, but it's good grub at The Dub. The cheese board is scrumptious, as is the veggie sandwich and the Rueben. This is also a good place to get adventurous with your booze: try the Czechvar from the Czech Republic, the Dry Blackthorn Cider, or get a wee dram of The Taliskar and experience the smoky, peaty, taste of the Scottish Islands. You could always have an Irish whiskey instead, but I guarantee that stuff is accountable for 75% of the vomit in the men's room. If you are overwhelmed by the selections of booze, ask the bartenders to help you pick something. They are not only knowledgeable about their hooch, but they are friendly as well. The Dubliner shows Football (soccer) games from The UEFA Cup and The World Cup, and they show Celtic games from the Scottish Premier League and some of the English Premiere League's games. This is one of the better venues to watch soccer/football in, as the foreigners there will chant and get drunk and cuss at the players on TV. They make the experience all the more fun.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
I hate pretentious. I mean really, really hate....as in I'd like to punch your lights out hate. Unfortunately, more and more bars down in Lower Greenville should have "pretentious" as their middle name...but not The Dubliner. This place is laid back cool. The waitresses have more tattoos than a bevy of Hells Angels - and we are talking sleeves here, not tramp stamps. Hello Suicide Girls. When I explained that I am not really a beer kind of girl, our waitress told me about all of the ciders in detail, and her recommendation of the Woodchuck Cider was spot on. Nice.... The crowd is eclectic (at least it was the nights I was there) and it was not too crowded. There were some great (and fondly obscure) tunes playing, and the music was set at a nice volume - guy friend and I did not have to shout out a conversation. They also do not discriminate regarding patronage. Two chihuahuas were among the crowd on one Friday night. Next time I schlep in from the dreaded suburbs, I am bringing Punkin!

Zachary K.

Yelp
Cozy place to have a nice drink. I came here right after I got out of jail a few years back, the bar was near where I had got arrested the night before for a DWI. Anyways my ex and I had a nice stout beer and some good white wine. I heard they had a car crash into it a few months ago. Anyways nice atmosphere good place for a date when it's not too crowded, even though I have no point of reference on that because I have never been there when it was crowded. Salud.

Ryan S.

Yelp
The Dubliner has been one of the few consistent social elements of my life in the 6 years that I've lived in Dallas. Through all the changes in Dallas' night life (or my own) they've remained a fiercely local Irish Pub. The staff has always been passionate about the bar and the people they serve. The crowd has always been just as passionate: a diverse mix of anglophiles, hipsters, UK expats, SMU spillover, and fans of a good footy match.(this should be your Premiere League headquarters) Over the 6 years I've been visiting The Dub, I've seen several guys go from barback to manager and you really get a sense of a family/welcoming environment. I don't have to go every week to get the same friendly service and occasional discount on beverages. All I have to be is myself. If my weekend night is a snooze, I know I can show up at the Dubliner an hour or so before close and finish out with a solid conversation with solid people. Sunday afternoon is the best time to see Dallas' scooter and vintage bike scene in full effect. It's a wonderful contrast with the harley/chopper dudes across the street at Blue Goose. The patio is definitely a destination. From your classic PBR to seasonal beverages, like warm Irish coffees & mulled wines, to summer brews and Irish Whiskeys; the drink selection is perfect for any taste or occasion. The music is always a killer mix of cutting edge/classic brit pop, reggae, soul, new wave, punk, and good old rock n' roll. This isn't your Top 40 bar. If the iTunes isn't kicking out tunes, you can bet a DJ is spinning his favorite of the above genres. Don't be surprised if half of the bar starts singing along to a tune like "Common People" by Pulp or some West Ham chant while sloshing drinks. Also don't be suprised if some Irish bastard tries to steal your hot girlfriend while you're in the head. It's all in good fun at a place that knows how to forgive, forget, and have a damn good time.

Frances H.

Yelp
For me, the Dubliner plays a pretty pivotal role not only in the Lower Greenville scene, but the whole Dallas scene, as well. A dark and warm environment welcomes you into the pub that resonates with Irish appeal. The small, but quaint pub is dominated with old-school beer signs, high boy tables, dark wood booths, and a comforting fire place in the back. There is nothing but warmth that envelopes you as you either sip a craft beer from their impressive tap or a warm cocktail during the winter months. Though, this joint is not a party place, it's a spot to meet friends and share memorable times. Therefore, marking it as a Dallas gem. When wanting to just wind down and enjoy your afternoon or evening on a lovely Dallas day, this is where you go.

Justin B.

Yelp
It's the Dubliners fault that I now ride a Vespa. Sure, sure the seeds were always there, but do yourself a favor and visit on a Sunday afternoon and try to get out of there without wanting to hop on one of the dozen or so scooters that accumulate in the wonderfully blocked-off front parking lot like tumbleweeds on a barbed-wire fence in an old John Wayne movie. For this alone, "the Dub" earns it's five stars. I haven't even gotten to the drink selection, the menu or the incredible staff! I can always count on a nice pint of Smithwicks every time I walk through the door, and nomming on one of their BLT's before one of the many major footie matches I've watched there is one of the definite highlights of the experience. Sure, their ploy is pure evil: someone orders a BLT (or their incredible baked potato) and next thing you know, the bar is wafting with the marvelous aroma of bacon. It's very very hard to resist. Everyone is friendly (save that guy wearing the jersey for the team your team is beating 3-1 currently) and it's definitely my choice for a spot on Greenville.

Bevin M.

Yelp
I absolutely love the Dubliner. For the past 8 years, I have spent Christmas night there sipping my favorite whiskey (knappogue castle, in case you were wondering), and enjoying some good times with friends. Dubliner has a great selection of beer on tap and wonderful people watching. When we were there this past Christmas, they must have been playing someones iPod, because we heard everything from obscure 80s New Wave to modern hip hop. Lots of fun! I prefer to always order from the bar as table service can get a bit behind. This is the place for World Cup/rugby action and they always have a great band on St. patricks.

Ed V.

Yelp
Me and my friend were here for the weekend (we're from California) and while driving around Greenville ave. we decide to stop by Dubliner since it was St. Patty's weekend and the pub looked cool and the patio seemed like an awesome place to people watch. However, when my friend went to the restroom, the patrons were starring at him while heading toward that direction, he said "if looks could kill" For my experience, while standing at the bar waiting to order a drink (BTW ,there were no lines at the bar) it was about 10 minutes now and I'm still patiently waiting - there were two bartenders talking to the patrons and I'm being ignored, no eye contact whatsoever, then a guy stands besides me and a second later the bartender asks him if he wants a drink, WTF, I've been there past 10 minutes, money in hand and he asks the guy beside me who just got there. I usually don't want to think of it as a race issue but in this case my friend and I were the only non white patrons of the facility, so sad, because it seemed like a nice pub. So we ended up going across the street at the Blue Goose restaurant where we were treated with a smile and they were playing 80's music.

Kiana V.

Yelp
I came into this bar with my friends recently around 1:30 am on a Friday night because we wanted a few Guinness'. I just want to start off by saying that I hardly ever write negative Yelp reviews because I'm more or less very easy to please. Also- disclaimer, The Dubliner is receiving 2 stars from me solely based on an absolutely horrifying interaction my friends and I had with the bartender. I would have given 1 star for this reason alone, but my experience at the bar besides the interaction was okay- so 2 stars. When we walked in, my friend asked the bartender for a Guinness, and the bartender began helping him. My boyfriend and I were standing a few feet over, and the bartender (unclearly to me) asked in he could get us anything. I thought he said "can I get you anything man?" and because I am not a man and never have been, I did not respond but my boyfriend replied "no". But I wanted a drink, so maybe 30 seconds later I asked the bartender if they offered a certain drink. He replied "oh so now you want something?" in what was certainly the rudest tone I've ever been spoken to from someone in the service industry. I just want it to be clear that he didn't ask us more than once if we wanted anything the first time. So his attitude was entirely uncalled for. My friend (who was still waiting on his Guinness) also noticed his horrible attitude and caustically asked the bartender "it's not very busy in here tonight is it?" and the bartender yelled (yes, yelled) in a sarcastic voice "OH YEAH ITS SUPER BUSY CAN'T YOU TELL?!". My friend, who continued conversation with him learned that he had been working at this bar "for a long time". I have worked as a server and I can't imagine addressing any customer the way he addressed myself and my boyfriend. I ended up asking another employee what that bartender's name was and he told me "Beanie" (maybe Vinny? based on some other reviews I saw for this bar). I have no idea if that's the correct name or why anyone would name their child that/allow that as a nickname. One thing I am sure of is that I will never come back to this bar as long as "Beanie" is working. It's sad because I enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar and would have enjoyed my experience otherwise.

Yelp
What luck. We captured a parking space right in front of this bar this Sunday afternoon. Wooo Hooo !!! Nice bar, very comfy, cozy, very friendly bartenders at our arrival just at opening time at 1300. We were the first ones there, but as the afternoon wore on, several others wandered in. BF and I had a Stella and a Harp, followed by a super spicy, delish Bloody Mary, My, my, very yummy and tasty. But, I am such an easy person to please with great service and lots of attention !! Yep, loved the atmosphere, the comfy bar chairs and the semi-quiet sound, with some not too loud music in the background. Another hot spot on Greenville Avenue, one of my favorite areas, quite out of my 'hood; but that's a good thing. I must venture out of my comfort zone more often. Addison is great, but can get sooooo boring !!!! Toodles, have a great week! See Dubliner again soon!

Kristen V.

Yelp
We came down here last weekend. Met some friends that have been there before. My style pub. The bartenders/servers were very nice and knowledgeable about what they're serving. Very comfortable atmosphere. Spacious but feels small and intimidate. I would go back!

Marci M.

Yelp
Home base. The OG. Stop asking me to write more. The place has been "with me" through thick and thin. Long may she reign.

Yelp
I've been telling my loser friends that fanny packs are back in-style. And after our visit to the Dubliner last nite, I could see it start to sink in when a table full of cute tattoo'd twenty-somethings with beards got up and strapped their fanny packs on and rode away on their bicycles. I'm assuming they live in Denton- what a trek! I don't know who does the scheduling at the Dubliner, but there were two bartenders dramatically different in height. This caused some turmoil in my head-- maybe its because I watched that movie,Temple Grandin, the other nite--. So I start off with the really tall bartender...but of course couldn't stop staring at the really short one...I forgot what beers I was supposed to get for my friends...why is the tiny bartender wearing such a huge shirt?? ... ... ... ... I pulled it together. Decided to give myself a russian accent and asked the tall guy for a recommendation. Later I forgot I was using a russian accent and switched to spanish. crap. But that was to the little guy, no harm. -The beer was horrible- it was the featured beer. Looks like cloudy piss. Don't order it. Mothership Wit, I think it was? But it was my fault for forgetting. We switched to Kronenberg and 9 hours later were happy campers. On a side note, my friend wore a man-bag into the bar and told us about watching The Proposal this past Saturday nite home alone.

Yelp
Just what I am looking for in an Irish pub. I walked down from Gloria's and it was well worth it. The bar was pretty crowded outside on the patio (no seats). So I sat at the bar and the bartender was quite quick in bringing over my Guinness (what else do you get at an Irish pub). After a few more, I headed on my way. Great stuff.

Yelp
I love this place. Simple as that. I've been coming here since I moved into my not-so-far-away home in 2001 and I see no reason to stop. I love the beer, I love the people. It's my "local". It's my home away from home. I like the Sunday afternoon crowd the best, but i also like to stop down for happy hour, as long as I can get out of work in time. I also like the international crowd. It might seem obvious at an Irish Pub, but yes, it really happens. It's good. I like.

Yelp
I just went to the dubliner for the first time today. I loved the atmosphere. A typical looking Irish pub, but much nicer on the inside than on the outside. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, there was a TV playing a sports game, and a dartboard in the back. The hot drinks are my favorite so far. Amanda M had the mint drink, and I tried the Nutty Irishman. I will definitely come here again!!

Yelp
I love the Dubliner. It was great as the Tipperary before they moved to bigger quarters. What else could be in this space? (Well, according to one drunk, a parking lot. The shame of driving into a pub window when not drunk on Guinness.) It's small. It's crowded. It's homey. Have a pint. Just get there early, because parking can be an issue in the neighborhood.

Yelp
When you want a tasty import or a real Guinness, this is the place to go. My only complaint is that it is often so popular that seating can be hard to find. But if the weather is hot and you're in the area, it is hard to go wrong by stopping by for a cold one. Nice cozy atmosphere as well. Kind of reminds me of pubs in Ireland (kind of, I don't want to overstate the case). I have not eaten there but I hear that the pub grub is above average.

Yelp
I'm a fan, I'll be back. I really like the patio and I'm a big fan of lower greenville area, so it's win win. The inside of the place looks pretty cozy also. Heh, and now I want some cider. Damn you, yelp!

Yelp
Oh, Dub. How I want to give you just one more little star, but alas...I remember this bar back when I was in college (a loooooong time ago) and it was such a different scene. Now, don't get me wrong. It's still a fantastic place to grab a pint, but I do miss the good ole Dub days. There was certainly more of an "Irish Pub" feel back in the day. In fact, it was my Irish friend that got me hooked on this place. With a management change, it's become a bit more alternative, though the crowd is usually a mixed bag and you will still notice a sprinkling of Irish, English, Scottish and more. And many of them have been coming to this place nearly as long as it's been around. In fact, they just celebrated 16 years! While I may miss the old days of the Dub (or perhaps just the memories associated with it) I still think this bar is a great, chill place with a great patio and friendly crowd. The bartenders are on top of things and rarely do you have to wait for a drink. And you can be sure to witness some rowdy times and a drunk crowd! And for those bike lovers, there's always a great selection of motorcycles to ogle parked right out front.

Yelp
Great Carlsberg beer here! We made a special point to visit this pub while in Dallas. It was published on the Thrillest 21 Best Irish Pubs and they had my favorite beer. We sat at the bar and ordered Carlsberg. The bartender was friendly and took great care of us. I explained that Carlsberg was my favorite beer and you can't find it in Tennessee where I live. His favorite beer was Yuengling and can't be found in Texas. I told him I would bring him some on my next visit. We liked this place so much we bought the t-shirt.

Yelp
Love this place for just chilling on a Sunday with friends. I love the option of sitting on patio when weather is nice. I have been to the Dubliner so many times, lost count, since early 2000's.

Yelp
Always thought this place was a divey beer joint, but I am now a believer in The Dubliners greatness. The only downside is you have to order from the bar, there is no wait staff to come to the limited tables and couch areas. My boyfriend and I are obsessed with cheeseboards, we go to places that have cheeseboards and this is one of our new faves. The bartenders weren't too knowledgable about the cheeses on there as I had to ask two of them what the varieties were. We were pleased to know it was a marble cheese and a brie. We chose prosciutto to go with our cheeses and were amazed by what showed up. We got a beautiful board with crackers, the for-said cheeses and meat, tons of those baby wrinkly pickles, a huge bowl of olives, grapes, cucumber and the most amazing buttered bread. There were endless combinations and the flavors were all so freaking good. I only wish they had more cheeses to serve. At 16 bucks this is a very reasonable priced cheeseboard in the world of cheeseboards. I had a cocktail which was very strong and pleasant. It was a tad hot in the bar but that amazing cheeseboard and fun games made up for any of the petty things that we didn't just love.

Yelp
This place has been on lower Greenville forever it seems like. Has that hole in the wall feeling... I liked it. Bartender was set in her ways and inviting. Have been several times, I would go back. Great for Saint Patrick's Day!

Yelp
I want to give this place some props. St Patty's Day can be a mess for everyone. Drunk and sloppy bar patrons are not usually your fave if you are a bar owner (don't always pay, tip, throw up etc etc etc), but the Dubliner went out of their way it seemed to make sure there were plenty of tables out, friendly bartenders at every bar and every beer served to me was nice and cool. For a 32 yr. old Dallasite that had never been to the parade (I know I know... shame on me), you guys did an excellent job making me feel welcome and getting me feelin' good about this new experience. I will be going back for a quieter round next time... I heard they have Rahr Black Pug on tap!!!! :)
