31 SF Coffee Shops For Getting Work Done

"Wifi: Yes As if we really needed another reason to visit, Duboce Park Cafe is named after the adorable dog park across the street. Ignore the breakfast menu and get the big house salad: mixed greens, sliced apple, fennel, pecans, and cheese. Then proceed to look at dogs rather than stare at Slack. Be careful, though—if the dogs distract you and your laptop dies, there are no plugs to save you. Indoor and outdoor seating are both available." - lani conway, julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez

The 18 Best Restaurants In The Castro

"Outdoor seating next to a nice park is basically unheard of in this city, but Duboce Park Cafe is a rarity. And it's one of our favorite spots in the Castro to grab a quick breakfast or lunch, or hunker down and do some work. If you stop by in the morning, the scrambles and the egg sandwich are good options, and at lunch, go for the cobb salad. " - lani conway, julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez

The Deboce Breakfast Sandwich was very tasty! I think the English muffin was a bit greasy, but it seems like they're homemade or something, so I can't complain too much. The texture of the muffin is also very nice and bouncy. In addition to the sandwich we also had a green smoothie that was delicious, and their mocha was very smooth as well! In summary, all hits. We'll have to come back to try a couple other things next time, the burrito sounded good as well.

Google
Duboce Park Cafe is an absolute hidden gem for brunch! I stopped by and had the chicken curry sandwich, and it was phenomenal—the bread was perfection, the chicken was incredibly juicy, and the curry flavor was spot on. I paired it with a bowl of their tomato basil soup, which was both refreshing and soul-soothing—the perfect comfort food! To round out the meal, I tried both the Revival Juice and the Kale Almond Smoothie, and they were fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect balance of nourishing and delicious. The outdoor seating next to Duboce Park is just the cherry on top. It’s the perfect spot to relax, people-watch, and soak in the sunshine. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Google
What a wonderful tasting breakfast burrito. This is the second time I’ve been here. I’m from the east coast or I would come more! The fruit was fresh and the mocha was amazing!

The eggs are perfectly cooked, the bread is soft yet sturdy, and the fillings—from crispy bacon to creamy avocado—are thoughtfully balanced. Whether you opt for the classic egg and cheese or a more indulgent creation with sausage and veggies, every bite is satisfying and delicious. Pair it with a freshly brewed coffee, and you’ve got a breakfast worth savoring. Plus, the laid-back atmosphere near Duboce Park makes it an ideal spot to enjoy your meal while soaking in the neighborhood charm.

So amazing to have this right down the street from the Davies campus of The hospital. Good pastries, drinks, and sandwiches!

Google
Would you look at that French toast? It tastes even better than it looks if you can believe it. The place is nice, spacious, great for chatting with friends outside by the park or inside and maybe working a little. The coffee is great too, strong. Only thing is that service might be a bit slow to get your order. However, once that happens the kitchen is really fast so it might just be a logistic thing.

Google
Solid neighborhood cafe, with approachable American breakfast-lunch menu — complete with espresso machine. Sidewalk seating on tree-lined corner makes for a sense very similar to somewhere Northern Europe. Just across the street from Duboce Park, perfect for caffeinating before or after the dog park. Breakfast Burrito, fillingly savory and a hearty start to the day.

Agustin Farias

Google
I pass by this cafe often while commuting by bike and finally decided to stop by and try it. Love the atmosphere. Sit outside and just watch all the pups with their humans playing by the park across the street. Food was nice!

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance 5/5 Vibe: - was lively on a Saturday afternoon - bright and welcoming space Food: - spicy tuna melt: 4/5 I definitely liked it, and I liked that the bread was an English muffin. Food was flavorful and a bit spicy. Was still a little hungry, but whatever that's just me. - vegan breakfast burrito: 4.5/5 loved how filling it was and that it came with fruit or tater tots. Plenty of flavor and I recommend it because most vegan brunch is so bland.

Yelp
5 star location, ambience, breakfast stop. Right across the street from Duboce Park, on a wide corner, enough room for 6 cafe tables, shaded by 3 large trees. Dolores Park Café, Duboce Park Café, Precita Park Café, and Paradise Park Café have the same owner, so I was expecting the same menu of the same quality. Not so much. Couple days ago I had avocado toast at Dolores Park Cafe. Delicious. Today, 10a on a Tuesday, I'm looking at a 2 star avocado toast, if that. The toast wasn't toasted, so had to use knife & fork. Minus 1 point. Poached eggs undercooked. Minus 1 point. Bacon undercooked one side, seriously burnt on the other. Minus another point. I've been here before & enjoy many of their egg dishes, hence the 4 stars. Most of the annoying laptop village is indoors milking their latte all morning. Lively music overhead. In summery, I can recommend this cafe for a leisurely breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
Food is great ! Coffee is great! Ambiance fantastic! But the staff is always upset or annoyed, even in the morning as they are walking in for the start of their day. Went in 3 days in a row as I live near by and had family in town who I wanted to share the cafe with. Not sure what's going on but don't ask them questions or mess up when ordering . They will make you feel stupid and as if you are not welcomed back or at all.

Yelp
Great vibes and decent food! I love the outdoor seating here on a good day, and it's right next to a park as well. Service is really sweet and it was bustling with people the whole time. Got a tuna salad sandwich and juice, both delicious! I saw some people doing work so might come back one day for that.

Yelp
Ordered a vegan breakfast burrito to go and when I got home and bit into it, it had chorizo. So disappointing and unpleasant. Make sure to double check with the cashier that they are noting the vegan burrito.

Yelp
This place is a pretty decent and casual neighborhood cafe with plenty of dog friendly outdoor seating. However, I do not recommend coming here if you weren't already in the neighborhood. I got the Buddha Bowl, which was overall pretty good. I enjoyed the texture of the bowl, but I wish it was just a bit more flavorful. My cappuccino was just average. My friend's egg sandwich looked really good though, so I might give that a try next time.

Yelp
Was walking around Duboce Park and decided to give this cafe a try. I got an iced thai tea and my partner got a matcha latte. I like the vibes of the cafe, very bright, free wifi, and a decent amount of seating available. The thai tea was standard and overall this is a cute cafe that I would go to if I was already in the area.

Yelp
Ordered online, and I usually don't leave reviews when I do that, but this experience was exceptional. I got the veggie scramble with avocado, fruit, feta cheese, and baguette, and I was blown away by the quality. The scramble was perfectly cooked, the avocado was fresh and creamy, and the fruit was ripe and flavorful. The addition of feta cheese added a delightful tanginess that complemented the other ingredients beautifully. The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making it the perfect accompaniment. Every bite was a delight, and I will definitely be ordering from here again. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Used to be in the neighborhood and came here a lot for the Duboce Park sandwich. Once I relocated I would make a special trip just for this sandwich. Came today and it felt like the recipe had changed. Egg was scrambled, dry and almost fried. The sandwich was presented open faced with extra tomatoes little bit of garlic aioli and little seasoning. I asked them to remake it because the eggs were super dry which they did but it wasn't much better. I am hoping the owners see this review and revert back to the old recipe and presentation as shown on the sidewalk sign. See photos for examples

Yelp
Service and cafe itself were great, nice place to sit and do work! We also got an iced vanilla latte that was pretty good. I thought the egg sandwich was good- garlic aioli flavor was light but good. The burrito was okay, a little soggy needs some different flavors.
google avatar

Brittany K.

Yelp
I had the veggie breakfast burrito (eggs, black beans, pico, avocado), but I thought it was really bland and too liquidy from the beans/salsa.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
Went here for the first time, and I got a Thai iced tea and an Americano. The Thai tea was strong, which I like because some places tend to put a lot of cream and dilute it. Same for the Americano. Both had strong flavors, and there was great service. It's near a park and is a nice area to walk around, especially for people with dogs. The cups are also so cute because it says the names of other parks in SF. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Love the curry chicken sandwich. Whatever bread they use is delicious. Perfect lunch/brunch/coffee spot when taking my pup to the dog park across the street. Oh, and their house made chai is so good, peppery/spicy goodness.
google avatar

Aditya C.

Yelp
Duboce Park Cafe has a nice corner location near the park with a spacious indoor and nice outdoor seating as well. For food, I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was toasted very well and was great, but the portion was a little small given how much I paid for it. For my coffee, I ordered an oat milk chai latte - it was a solid latte with a good portion. When I went it was decently busy but I still received my order fairly quickly , which I very much appreciated. Overall I had a great experience. The drinks are great, as well as the food, but at least for the bagel the portion was smaller than expected.
google avatar

Chance K.

Yelp
Just a lovely, simple, casual neighborhood cafe with an excellent location! I appreciate that they really lean into being dog-friendly, and it's perfect for grabbing a bit after playing some fetch with your pup in Duboce Park. They have lots of outdoor seating with views of the park and passing trains. The food and coffee is good quality, and can be ordered and paid for at the counter. The pear smoothie was delicious, as was the granola bowl.
google avatar

Olivia B.

Yelp
Okay vibes cool and all but seriously the matcha don't even think about getting I was slurping lukewarm matcha that was so grainy it was basically green colored milk with sediment at the bottom and ice non existent walked around the block and immediately cried for the loss of 6 dollars

Yelp
I really enjoyed everything we had from this cafe. It was a first visit and definitely will not be our last. My fiancé has recently been limited to vegan food so we were happy to find a lot of different locations in the city. They are located right across the street from a park with lots of street parking surrounding the cafe. Perfect spot if you walking by. There are some tables outside if you prefer the fresh air or the inside has ample amount of table to enjoy your food indoors. The donuts were amazingly good. Hard to believe they are vegan. So much flavor in such a small bite. Definitely recommend! I had a hot chipotle chicken sandwich that was baked perfectly. The bread had a nice crunch but not to crunchy that it was still soft to bite into. They were helpful and patient with us while we decided on what to order. Super friendly. I will be coming back soon!
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
I got an iced matcha latte here and felt like the proportions were a bit off; there was a bit too much oat milk for me and I didn't get very much of the matcha taste!
google avatar

Joan S.

Yelp
I had a really yummy latte, fresh squeezed juice and French toast. Outside tables were a nice option and the overall vibe and service was great. There were 6 of us- all were happy! The chicken curry sandwich looked amazing and my husband liked his Cobb salad.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Was working and had not had anything to eat and it was about 4:00 PM. I looked up their menus and they had a good selection of breakfast items sammis and burritos. Got a sammi that had eggs, bacon, Arugala and Tomatos all held together with an English muffin it really hit the spot. I went inside to pick up my food and the inside is cute and fit the neighborhood perfectly!!! When back in that area I will definitely come back
google avatar

Yelp
Kale krush smoothie is my absolute favorite. Very light not too milky and thick. Their sandwiches on baguettes are probably the best sandwiches I've ever had. The sourdough bread they use is absolutely incredible. Reasonable prices compared to Reveille and Tarragon cafe nearby. Wish they stayed open later.
google avatar

Danielle L.

Yelp
This is a great spot for hanging out and doing work or catching up with a friend! The food is just OK, but the ambiance is what makes it worth it. I came here on a weekday afternoon to cowork with a friend and have lunch. It's nice to have a view of the park and that it's conveniently located along the Muni line.
google avatar

Knickerbocker R.

Yelp
This place is in the neighborhood, so I decided to stop by after work one morning. I ordered what looked like their signature English muffin breakfast Duboce Park something and it was ok. It looked great. The size was big. The flavor was bland. It was to go so that also added to it. The service was appropriately. The Cafe is clean and worth sitting down and having a meal. Maybe I will try I it again or maybe not.
google avatar

Donna C.

Yelp
I have been going to the Duboce Park Cafe a few times for lunch and have enjoyed the ambiance and the food and drink. I have ordered the tomato soup, which is very tasty with an "everything bagel" that includes cream cheese, cucumber, avocado, tomato and onion. They toasted the bagel perfectly and everything was fresh. It was delicious. I also have had the wheat salad with chicken, and the grilled cheese sandwich. The coffee is perfect and I love the music that they play. It is a fun experience and I enjoy it and will keep going back. Also, the staff is friendly and accommodating and keep the place clean. Enjoy.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered a Iced Vanilla latte, Cesar salad (with chicken) and the Hot Chicken Chipotle Sandwich. A little pricey so I had to used daddies credit card. But the food was pretty good. Ambience was nice as I sat outside getting yelled at by the friendly neighborhood crackhead yelling at us about Harvey milk (bless his soul) and Diane Feinstein. Bathroom has a cool ring light mirror, helps with the fit pics . Definitely recommend the place. 9/10

Yelp
Don't bother if there is a line longer than 3 people, or if you are in a rush aka can't spend 45 mins waiting for coffee and a bagel. The staff can't handle the rush, and this has been after multiple visits, as I used to live a block away. The issue is the service, the food is good, but they can't keep up with the orders, always something missing, it takes 5 minutes to get my toast and 25 mins to get my coffee and did I even get my bacon? No. They are a hot mess here. Avoid if busy.
google avatar

Doug M.

Yelp
Nothing fancy. Healthy, fresh, good coffee. A nice neighborhood place to have a quick breakfast.
google avatar

Miguel C.

Yelp
My coffee taste deliciuos and is in a good location and they open at 7am I just bought minefor today this morning thanks
google avatar

S Blair P.

Yelp
Food is good. Coffee is good. Location is good. Minus one star for filling a very small mug 2/3 of the way and then wanting to charge $3 for a refill. I guess I don't usually eat in. Maybe people take advantage and nurse one cup holding onto a table for hours? Maybe that's the fear? I don't know, but even if you're planning on eating in, get your coffee to go-you'll get an actual cup that way. And. To management? Get bigger mugs. Not ginormous, but reasonable for a no refill joint.
google avatar

Avani V.

Yelp
I absolutely love this cafe. I can't speak to the quality of the food, but they make solid coffee. The real draw of this place for me, though, is the wonderful ambiance and quality of service. This is definitely one of my favorite work spots in the city- lots of seating, both indoor and outdoor, and wifi. The staff is so friendly and kind. I could comfortably spend a whole day here- it feels like home!
google avatar

Danice M.

Yelp
My bestie and I decided to try two new things. One is having lunch at the Duboce Park Cafe. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the nicest person. Our food and coffee came out quick and tasted amazing. We had avocado toast and breakfast. Will come back to try some of the other dishes.
google avatar

Cris L.

Yelp
I just love this neighborhood cafe. The coffee is always good and the sandwiches are wonderful. It's right on Duboce Park so you can watch dogs playing while you sip your coffee.
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
A favorite in the neighborhood. They have a great tuna sandwich and great service. I love the ambiance and proximity to the park.
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
Its a very cute place, but with mediocre food and service. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was mostly just rice, even though the menu does not indicate that it includes rice! It is suppose to include chorizo, and so I was expecting it to be a little spicy, but it was pretty boring and bland. Other things looked good and so I might not completely write the place off, but next time I'll try something other than the burrito.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid neighborhood cafe. I got the curried chicken salad sandwich which comes with chips. Delicious. Order at the counter and they bring you the food. Chill atmosphere.

Kelley L.

Yelp
I wish I lived in the Castro just so I could visit this place every day or at least once a week. It's a great location, super cool vibe, outdoor seating that makes you feel like you are in some fancy French street cafe and the food was great. Being directly across the street from a large dog park was the cherry on top of the cake!
google avatar

Buckwheat H.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast sandwich and generous sized latte on a Monday morning. Not crowded at all on a weekday. Beautiful walkable neighborhood and big bonus: a 3-bear fnnch mural on the outside wall.
google avatar

Salvador G.

Yelp
This quaint little place in the corner of a very touristy area of SF is a place to have either Breakfast or Lunch or Brunch. Their menu is diverse and plentiful. The food is served fast and accurate. It's savory and delicious. Come visit with friends or alone. It's all good
google avatar

Therese S.

Yelp
I came to this neighborhood spot to work remotely on a Monday morning and loved the iced mocha I ordered, the large windows, and spacious interior. I found a spot in the back corner, where there was strong wifi and plenty of room. I didn't need an outlet so I didn't check if they had any, but it was still a good place to work remotely for a few hours while enjoying the view of Duboce Park and getting some fresh air from their nice windows! I haven't tried the food, but the mocha was good. It was pricey ($7) for what it was, but I figured I was paying to use their space for a while as well.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
After having a nice conversation at a table inside with a good friend, I went back to the counter to order a salad and requested it for takeout. "Well yeah, cause we're closing in 20 minutes." I noticed the response, but wasn't bothered much. My name was called once my salad was ready. After saying "thank you," it was very awkward when the lady handing my bag to me just stood and glared. Dare I go to the restroom within 10 minutes of closing? Oh I dared...especially because about every small business won't allow access to restrooms (even for paying customers) around town. Very humane, I know. It wasn't the death stares from the employees that irritated me, as I packed up to leave. It was the fact that I paid for a side of curried chicken on my Cobb salad, that was missing. I also got a ramekin of aioli instead of the blue cheese dressing it's supposed to come with.
google avatar

Yelp
It would be impossible to overstate the benefits and qualities of this fine establishment on my life. Once the Pandemic shut life down, I turned to Grubhub for sustenance. Multitudes of days spent in my flat in Noe Valley and breakfast was served by Duboce Park Cafe. I mostly order: The Mocha- perfectly made The Cream Cheese Bagel - perfectly toasted (which I should know, I grew up in NY) The Breakfast Sandwich - arrives warm and is supremely delish Kudoz to this superb eatery for 4 years of exemplary service. I have had food delivered from them 2-3x per week for 208 weeks. The staff is awesome and my order has been correct 99.5% of the time. Try them. They are the nonparallel of SF Breakfast.
google avatar

Val P.

Yelp
This is a really cute and good cafe. My favorite is the breakfast burrito but they are not always consistent. The food sometimes is missing items. Really cute location though (:
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
Location, Location, Location! One of the best things about this cafe is that it is right next to Duboce Park. A great spot to drink coffee and enjoy some sun. Or, grab a juice and sandwich and picnic in the park! This place has fast service and always a few seats open so it is a great spot to grab some healthy or hearty dishes with lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. I tried the buddha bowl salad and it had some pretty tasty miso dressing and was filled with lots of fresh veggies. The curried chickpea tofu that came in the bowl was a little dry but had very good flavor and was a unique protein packed addition. I also got the K2 smoothie (with protein powder) because it's bulking season!! Very refreshing and I felt powerful afterwards.
google avatar

Lulu O.

Yelp
I really love this place! Only spot where I can find super fresh orange juice. My favorite is the Turkey Avo Swiss sandwich - so yummy! And the people who work there are friendly and fun. Way to go Duboce Park Cafe!
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this cafe since it has some outdoor seating and cute string lights overhead. Ahh what a shame it didn't meet my expectations. Came here with three friends and we all ordered at the same time. My burrito came out about 10 minutes after everyone else's, I didn't think anything of it because they were busy. Honestly, I think they forgot my burrito in to oven (or however they warmed it) because the tortilla was burnt and crisp in most places... It felt void of chorizo - I thought there was none, but saw some finally. I ordered: Breakfast Burrito: Chorizo, black beans, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream in a flour tortilla w/fruit or potatoes My star rating: 5 - you have to go!!! 4 - you won't be disappointed 3 - it was okay 2 - I probably won't go back 1 - turnaround and run

Jack S.

Yelp
Cute place and nice setting by the park but the food was overpriced and disappointing. I ordered a "bagel deluxe," and was surprised when I brought it to the table that I had to assemble the entire thing myself. I normally don't really care about deconstructed meals, but at almost $10 for a bagel, cream cheese, and some assorted vegetables I expected that they'd at least give it to you already made. At that point, I can just make the same thing at home. Maybe I just got the wrong thing and need to give it another chance, but I'm not really inclined to come back when there are other places that will cook you a full breakfast sandwich for the same price close by.
google avatar

Deanna J.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood so this is one of my go-to places. I never get tired of the food and I've gotten my friends and family addicted to the Duboce Egg Sandwich. Seriously it's sooooo good. (Although you guys may want to up your breakfast burrito game). And a nice variety of sandwiches. And great service - especially Maria. Wouldn't know what I'd do if we didn't have Duboce Park Café.

Yelp
This little cafe is one of my faves!! The food is consistently delicious. My favorite: the Spicy Chicken sandwich
