The Best Apple Cider Donuts In Upstate New York - New York - The Infatuation

"You can only buy these doughnuts by the dozen, but that’s fine because they're the best apple cider doughnuts in upstate New York. It’s almost annoying how good they are. Made with both dried apples and apple cider, these full-sized donuts taste very much like actual apples, with a thick coating of spiced sugar, a golden exterior, and a perfect crumb structure. Even a day or two after you’ve brought them home, these will still be delicious, which is the true mark of a great cider doughnut. DuBois in general is an exceptional orchard, with free entry to the PYO areas, photo ops that look like they came directly from a Pinterest board, and an excellent outdoor kitchen slinging wood-fired pizzas and buffalo wings." - carina finn koeppicus

This is a family friendly place with lots to do. Weekends now require a $10 admission per person, but you are provided with a $10 voucher to use towards your purchases. It's beyond reasonable. We had good pizza, listened to music, picked lots of apples, and purchased the, ever so coveted, apple cider donuts. The pumpkin patch was great, both for photo ops, or picking the perfect pumpkin for your carving needs. We love this place and highly recommend it.

We have been coming to this farm for 5 years now. It has become a tradition for my kids. The first time we came it was for peach picking and then we came for apples. Decided to try it out in a different season and the kids love it. I also love the cider here. It’s one of my fave’s that I look forward to. And the kids like the pizza and hay ride. I was a bit surprised when we went this time that we had to pay upfront at the entrance. The voucher or admission you pay can go towards what you pick, eat or drink at the farm. Which we didn’t mind. Because it’s 4 and 1/2 of us so it was $40 and we usually spend about $120 at the farm anyways. So the $40 went towards that. Also I did notice the prices went up in a lot of things we usually get. I do understand the paying up front for the apples cuz some people just aren’t nice and pay for what they pick. BUT I do appreciate the farm still keeping it free in a way as it goes towards what we buy. ❤️ Parking is still free and the wagon ride as well. And the music is always a plus. Our family keeps growing and we would love to continue coming up here from the city and continue the tradition. Thank you Dubois Farm for a wonderful experience every time. It is definitely worth the 2hr drive 🙂❤️

Looking for a super fun pick-your-own farm? DuBois Farms is the place to go! It’s perfect for a family day out. They even have a tractor ride that takes you right to the fruits and veggies if you don’t feel like walking — such a fun touch! The food is SO good — I had the peach pizza and wow, it was amazing. We also grabbed some apple cider donuts and I swear they’re the best in the entire Hudson Valley. Plus, they have drinks (yes, even for adults 😉), which makes it a win for everyone. Honestly, such a great spot to spend the day — highly recommend!

Google
Do not come here!! this place has changed a lot. I have been going here for 4 years with my husband and we used to love it, but we’re not coming back. It used to be free admission! Now they charge $10 per person, that you have to use as a voucher that day, the guy told me it expires and cannot be used later. We used to come here because of the free admission and getting to spend what we wanted. They say on their site, “but unfortunately, due to many visitors only enjoying the free activities and consuming the fruit without purchasing anything, a $10 voucher per person is now required on the weekends” No food or water allowed anymore so you have to eat there and feed your children there. They say no bags or purses but they also search your bags and purses as you come in and as you leave like a freaking security check point. Forcing people to buy your product by not allowing them to bring in snacks or food for their kids or themselves so they’ll buy you over priced tavern food is crazy. Never coming back here. You're also watched very closely as you apple pick. I think this is the worst change. I don't like to be treated as a thief and having my purse checked. Also, I bought their sangria ($10 for a cup) and asked for less ice because I saw they were filling it with 90% ice and the cup is already so small, they gave me less ice but instead didn't fill my cup all the way with alcohol...so cheap and rude.

About 1.5 hours from the GWB, we had a great time here two weekends in a row with young kids and a pup. They are very dog friendly, have live music in weekends, have a very large field with different varieties of apples and other vegetables, and their apple cider and donuts are quite delicious. It can get busy and finding a table in the shade could be hard to find right away, but it wasn’t a big deal for us as the farm was so big. The lines were also quite quick. Note that they instituted a $10 per head charge for weekends, but the money can be used towards anything in the park. They do check bags and have restrictions in large bags. Lastly, note that they sell u-pick apples by the pound, which I actually ended up preferring over bushel-based pricing. Will come again when the weather finally decides to cool down to fall-like levels.

Google
Overall, the farm is well put together well organized, and the staff is great I’m not quite sure when the best time to go apple picking is but very slim picking of apples the last week of September. I also thought it was very odd. That more than half of the farm was completely tied off you weren’t allowed to Apple pick in those parts of the field. A staff had mentioned those were tied off for the remainder of the seasons picking… The tavern is cute, good selection of mums to pick from and good selection of pumpkins to pick from but very slim on the apples

Google
No entry fee. Lots of parking. Live Music. Pumpkins. Apple picking with lots of varieties. Mums. Food Pet friendly! We enjoyed our day.

Google
We had a wonderful time strawberry picking at Dubois Farms—a great outing for couples or families. Set on beautiful grounds, the farm includes a tavern with delicious food and drink, and a play area where kids were kept entertained playing on the pirate ship, and in the little wooden houses. A tractor and wagon goes back and forth between the main grounds and the fields, so the whole experience is easy and relaxing. A great way to spend an afternoon in nature!

Yelp
DuBois Farms - Pick, pay and pray you don't get caught chewing. Drove two hours to pick peaches while multiple "fruit police" patrolled like we were plotting a produce heist. One or two bites while picking? Apparently a felony here. The peaches we picked ourselves cost more than the ones at my local grocery store which don't require gas money, a long drive or a side of suspicion. And then there's the "pizza," a culinary tragedy that somehow made frozen aisle pizza seem gourmet. Cheese or pepperoni on bread, no flavor, all disappointment... and still overpriced. Yes, the staff are friendly. But friendly doesn't erase feeling like you've wandered into a pick-your-own experience run by TSA agents on their day off. Save yourself the time, money and awkward stares. Get peaches elsewhere and eat them without fear of a security detail. Unless your bucket list includes paying extra to feel guilty about fruit, in which case... this is your Disneyland.

Yelp
Follow the gravel lined driveway to a large self parking area. Leave your outside food and drinks in the car and head up to the property. At the entrance you are greeted by a staff member. Head past the apple orchard and land smack dab in the middle of this beautiful, expansive property. Straight ahead you'll find the Red Barn to get set up with your fruit picking vessel. To your left the Tavern, that's where we headed, off to enjoy a Margherita pizza (~21.00 card) and an IPA ($8 cash or $8.48 card.) Cash is king a DuBois Farms as they notate quite a lot throughout the tavern. Order your Sangria or Beer inside with a cashier, paying an extra fee (3.99%) to use cards, outside of the tavern head to the ordering window for pizza, wings and ice cream. This visit we did not pick any fruit, but anticipate returning in the fall for pumpkin picking, fall drinks and their apple cider donuts, which are currently available in the Tavern! Yelp
June was perfect for strawberry picking and since my family were visiting, we decided to visit Dubois Farms to pick some strawberries. The place has plenty of parking. It was beautiful, and upon arrival we went to the market store where you will pay $1 for a box to fill your pickings. Next you took a trailer that would take you to the strawberry field. A fun short ride! We went on a weekday so it was slow which was nice. Since it was about 80 degrees, 1/2 hour was more than enough. The field had strawberries but you really need to look deep into the plant to find nice ones. Fun experience! But 2 boxes costed over $50 dollars. Nice experience!

Yelp
We come every fall , it's one of our highlights and my kids love it !! Great food and drinks , wonderful staff !!!!

Angela G.

Yelp
The best farm around! I literally cannot wait for their season to begin so I can get all fresh produce from them. They work so hard to keep the farm so beautiful & enjoyable for all around. The staff makes it such a warm and positive experience. Highly recommend all to go!!

Yelp
Such a great place! They have so many activities for the family and tons of room to spread out. There is apple, grape and pumpkin picking! A playground, wagon ride and petting zoo. Not to mention food and a bar for drinks! You can take anyone here and spend the entire day. I can't wait to go back!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
we had a bad experience trying to even enter. We have a son with cerebral palsy who uses a walker for long distances, it was a very hot day and we usually bring a hydration drink for him. As we approached the entrance, there were a few people at the gate who watched us with our son struggling with his walker on the gravel road up to the entrance. We were carrying one small cup of the hydration drink for him to drink. We were told we could not enter with the drink for him and were turned away. The small cup was the only thing we carried with us. We have been able to visit other farms and are always happy to pay as our son enjoys things like petting zoos that are advertised on the web site. Perhaps this farm is "family friendly" for some, but this was not our exeperience.

Yelp
Maybe our visit was tardy this year. We visited DuBois Farms again this year 1st week of October, but too late for honey crisp apples. There were soooo many people compared to last year, maybe the COVID was the main reason DuBois was a bit less busy last year ....?? Still ..... Great tavern, pizza, apple cider donuts !!!! It looked very lively with music & kids running around, riding the hay rides. But, no tomatoes, no green peppers to pick.

Yelp
We were back at our favorite pick your own today, Dubois Farms. We started with lunch in The Tavern. The wood fired pizza, berry, and goat cheese salad and strawberry sangria were perfect. Fresh and delicious! Then, off to pick strawberries and raspberries. The farm is beautiful and clean, and the staff are cheerful and ready to help. After picking our fruit, we sat on the porch and listened to the live music. It was a really great day, and we will be back later in the season to pick peaches and nectarines when they are ready!

Yelp
Very family oriented, no charge to get in, wagons provided to lug pumpkins and things, live music, food, apple picking. Lots to do

Yelp
We go here annually for apple picking in the Fall. It's easy to access, well organized and laid out and has staff readily available when parking, exploring or around the orchards. Great for small children, strollers and mobility devices in most places (though the rows in the orchards themselves require walking.) They have a play area, petting zoo and picnic tables for concessions. Prices are a bit steep but there is a lot of tourist traffic. It's a great couple of hours with the family!

Jordan T.

Yelp
Great farm! Great people, my favorite place to go in the fall! The owner is kind and honest and the atmosphere makes you feel welcome.

Martini H.

Yelp
A wonderful orchard with a farm stand and bar. You can ever pick vegetables. I took off a star because some of the products in the farmer's market are made with genetically engineered ingredients.

Will R.

Yelp
Other than the fact that the owner is an arrogant jerk and the prices are outrageously high, the Apples are delicious. Avoid the grapes--they're even more expensive. Overall, skip this dude's ranch & go someplace else, where the people and the fruit are nicer.

Yelp
I love apple picking and have made it my annual Fall tradition. Due to COVID, I was concerned how farms would operate and what my experience would look like given current restrictions. This farm did not disappoint. Everyone had to wear masks on premises. No tasting of fruits or vegetables allowed as you pick your own produce in the orchards. Visitors kept their distance from each other, so our trip was very pleasant and safe. Staff members were all courteous and accommodating. Operation hours are 10am-5pm, but when we were leavening around 6:20, there were a few people still hanging around. Prices on everything went up from last year, which is the unfortunate reality of inflation and COVID. This farm has everything for everyone--pick your own fruit AND vegetables, a pumpkin patch, shops with local, delicious goodies, a pond with ducks, farm animals for the kids, picnic areas, play areas for children, plenty of greenery to enjoy and relax on. I was impressed with the wide array of things to do for the whole family. Definitely worth a whole day visit. Prepare to spend some $$$ here--everything is so tempting that resisting is impossible! The aromas wafting out the store are beguiling--the baked pies, cookies, doughnuts, and sweets are expensive but alluring. Upon entrance, grab a free cart on which you'll pile on the goodies that you'll be picking & purchasing. All pick your own fruits and vegetables are priced by weight (see picture of prices). The produce is delicious and so worth the higher-than-your-typical-supermarket price. The Concord grapes reminded me of my childhood in Ukraine. Never have I tasted such grapes elsewhere in America. Tomatoes are juicy, sweet and red. Not like those tasteless, unripe imposters you get at a grocery store. Really enjoyed picking my own vegetables in addition to apples. The apples trees that are not ripe for picking are fenced by ropes so you don't go to those areas. They are also not indicated on the map that you get to navigate the farm. We spent around $50 for a bag of apples and a box of vegetables. Definitely not cheap, but worth the experience and quality food.

Yelp
Every year we meet with my cousins who live up in Albany to go apple picking or cider tasting or some fall activity. We wondered in covid times how to do this safely and came across DuBois Farms who really excelled at putting aside our fears. AND THOSE APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS YO. Still dreaming about them! It was great to catch up with my cousins. We also brought my grandma who has difficulty walking. It was a little hard for her to walk down the long lines but we took it slow. One of the staff members offered to bring us back to the cars with a golf cart when we were leaving but my grandma opted to stretch out her legs for a little bit longer, what a lady. The cider we had there was delicious too and we felt really fortunate to have such a beautiful day in this mess of a year.

Yelp
Fantastic farm for apple picking and even a variety of vegetables, grapes, tomatoes and more. Definitely check out their schedule on the website at the beginning of August for the types of apples that are ready in each given week/month. When you go apple picking, you have the option to borrow their carts to carry your picked apples and vegetables around. I thought this was a nice touch. There's a barn that sells various food items and alcoholic beverages. The pizza is pretty good but expensive for what's worth. Another barn sells baked goods, preserves and a bunch of other goodies before you head out. Do get the salsas, you won't regret it!! There is ample parking. I recommend trying to park as closest to the farm as possible. The walk back with all your heavy items can be daunting. Great places for photos and a good time w family and friends.

Nicole B.

Yelp
Farm was very cute and geared towards kids. We went on a Sunday when it was really busy. The garbage cans were overflowing, the bathrooms were not being cleaned. My mother came and she is handicap, in a wheel chair. They did not offer handicap parking. They made us park in the lot across the street. It was very hard to push her through the grass and rocks in her wheelchair to get to the farm. The farm itself has some paved paths and is wheelchair friendly. The pizza tasted like Costco pizza. Food was nothing great. Petting zoo is very small, but children's play area is nice. Farm itself is cute, and they offer a lot of different things to pick. We won't be in hurry to come back though.

Yelp
Came here with my family and friends on Sunday a few weeks ago. From Brooklyn this is quite a drive but these apples won't pick themselves. This farm Is large. There are not only apples when we went but also grapes, tomatoes, pumpkins and peppers. There's a tavern that you can purchase drinks and a store where you can get a bunch of other items like apple cider donuts. And a grill where you can purchase food. You can rent a cart for $5 and upon return you get bs To pick apples you buy a bag for 50 cents and you fill the bag as you see fit then it is weighed and you pay in the store. The grapes, tomatoes and peppers, you buy a box for $1 then that is also weighed. The pumpkins you just pick one and pay based on the weight. Coming here was a good experience but it was tiring just based on the size of the farm. It's a good place for family fun.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday in early October and it was an absolute zoo. To be expected at a decent orchard I suppose. We didn't get anything but it was fun to walk around. Apples, pumpkins, animals - this place has everything you'd need. Not sure if its Covid related or not, but they only sold doughnuts in 12 packs, would have bought some as singles or even a six pack, but since that wasn't an option we passed all together.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
This is my favorite orchard in the area. Parking is convenient, you don't have to pay to get in, and it's just a beautiful piece of land. Great live music, pretty good food (pizza, sandwiches, salad), some of the best apple cider donuts I've had, and a nice selection of craft beer, wine, and cider. The kids love saying hi to the goats, llamas, and cows on the farm. There's just a lot to offer compared to other orchards in the HV that I've been to. It's clean and the staff is very friendly. It's an ideal place to spend a beautiful fall afternoon.
google avatar

Krisztina F.

Yelp
This is the most beautiful farm we've ever been, as you walk in you feel so welcomed, it can feel through the whole farm that the owners built this farm with love and happiness! The rolling hills and a little pond with ducks, a little village for the kids to play and the best peaches we ever had! We picked eggplants, zucchini, tomatoes, grapes, apples and lots of peaches! From the store we picked up apple cider donuts (sooo good), peach pie and a couple jars of pickles, salsa and jams. For lunch we had a cranberry goat cheese salad and their famous pizza (we tried the prosciutto) everything was really good and fresh! I already recommended it to all my friends We'll come back with all our friends!!!

Yelp
Returning PYO customer. Loved the donut peaches here. Don't tell anyone but I am really here for the YELLOW DONUT PEACHES. They are the best peaches. They are the reason I am here. Visiting the farm is something I looked forward to since last year when I accidentally dropped by. They have family friendly space for all ages. Lots of variety of fruits and vegetables. They have food and drinks with tables or grass that we can sit around and enjoy the day. They have cute llamas, sheep/ goats at the back. They have friendly and helpful staff almost at every spot at the farm. From entrance to the back you will be able to find someone to help you. I will come back next year for their donut peaches for sure.
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
Fun interactive apple picking, pumpkin patch, farm animal meeting farm just a quick drive away from the city. This is one of my go-to farms in the greater New York area to get my fall fix on, and though it can get crowded in the fall, there are more than enough apples and pumpkins to pick. They also do other fruits and veggies for those inclined at different times of the year too. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Kayla M.

Yelp
I've called, emailed, and sent a message on Instagram and Facebook to find out the price per pound of the pick your own items. I've yet to get a response in any way. Poor service and makes me not want to check it out.

Jayson T.

Yelp
Overall was good. Tractor ride to the strawberries is quite long (~15-20 minutes each way). If you miss the pickup, it can be a 30 minute wait. Prices for strawberries was $6.89 per LBS, so just expect that when you go. Strawberries were pretty good. Ambiance was what we were looking for. Easy to find and park.
google avatar

Julie Ying X.

Yelp
I came here for apple picking on a Saturday morning with a group of 5 people. There's free admission and parking which was great. They also gave free maps and bags which was helpful. They had Golden Delicious, Snapdragon, Pinklady, Honeycrisp, Winecrisp, and Fuji apples. We came at the end of the season but there were still some apples. Apples were $2.49 a pound. You can also pick tomatoes, eggplant, squash, and pumpkins as well. We also ordered black cherry cider drinks from the tavern which was very refreshing. They gave complimentary pretzels with every drink. The staff were all very nice and helpful. I would definitely come back next year. It does get crowded here so be sure to come early.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
I went here to pick strawberries and had such a great time! A tractor comes around to pick you up and bring you to the fields. You have a basket (you pick from two sizes) with you and get to pick whatever you want. It was so fun frolicking through the fields. They were the sweetest and most fresh strawberries I've ever tasted! They also have a stand where you can order ice cream and pizza. We didn't get to try that today but I'm looking forward to trying it when I come back to pick peaches this summer! There is a store that sells jams, salsas and other items. I bought their strawberry jalapeño jam and the medium peach salsa and I'm so excited to try both of them.

Yelp
Apple picking at DuBois Farms was fun. We were able to pick Snapdragons, Galas, Fuji apples, giant squashes, and seeded grapes. They also had peppers, eggplant, etc. that can be picked. Apple cider donuts were pretty good, but I actually preferred the donuts at nearby Twin Star Orchards better because they were denser and you could taste the apple cider more.
google avatar

Yelp
First time here and we were impressed. Mid-October is sort of late for apple picking but this is still a beautiful property to visit. Plenty of parking (no parking fee) & there is a tavern/pizza counter for adults. Be advised there is no outside food allowed here. There is an outdoor children play area and some farm animals (cows, goats, chickens, llamas). There is a large pumpkin patch. Free tractor ride for families and there is even a corn maze. There is a farm store to purchase fresh apple cider, doughnuts, pound cake, and pies (pumpkin, apple, cherry, blueberry) etc. Prices are reasonable. We brought a blueberry pie and it is loaded with berries. A+. Apples are sold by the pound. Tomato and other seasonal vegetable are available for picking as well during the other months. There are small wagon carts for customers to put the items they want to purchase. Brilliant idea. Staff we encountered were all friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our afternoon visit. Suggestion to owners: put up a few painted signs so people know the farm animal names/story. This way, people do not need to call the animals Goat 1 and Goat 2 or Cow 1 and Cow 2.

Yelp
Took about a 2.5hr drive from NYC to this farm. Decided this year to do something different and go to a different farm than our usual. What I like about this farm is that's it's huge. There's a lot of different options depending on when you go and what time if the season it is. It's not your usual apple picking farm they have more fruits and veggies depending on the time of the year which was nice. They also had a nice food court. They sold pizzas, sandwhich, hard cider, hard seltzer, and sangria. The sangria was great and also was the hard cider. They also feature a store where you can purchase cider, jam, apple cider donuts and etc. The apple cider donuts were good however if your looking for something that's more fresh like made to order I would go somewhere else if your solely looking for donuts. Overall it was a good experience My only gripe was that they charge you by the pound for your fruits or veggies. The usual farm I go to in Long Island is a little more affordable, since they just charge you for the bag itself. I spent over $100 for a few bags of apples and tomatoes. But it was good for the experience and different options

Irochka D.

Yelp
Amazing apples, apple cider donuts and apple dumplings! So many varieties of apples and unlike many places which charge you like 18 bucks for 1/2 peck of whatever they call it, here, you are able to take as few as you want because they charge by the pound. We came on a nice Sat morning, just when they opened at 10 AM and this was a smart thing to do because when we were heading out at 1, it got really crowded. For the bathrooms, I only saw porta-potties, not sure if there were other bathrooms, I would imagine, there should be for those who are handicapped, or have babies that need diaper changes. The food was OK. The pizza did not really taste like brick oven, but the sandwiches were decent, and they have free coffee and apple cider setup outside for everyone. There was also a lot of pumpkins to pick from, but we are not into that, so we did not go but we enjoyed taking pictures in that area. They also had Concord and Niagara grapes for picking, but these varieties are more suitable for wine making rather than eating, so we have not picked any. The parking situation was very well organized, with staff pointing you where to park the car and then, plenty of wagons at the entrance to help you carry the load.
google avatar

Jes M.

Yelp
We came here for the final apple picking weekend and it truly exceeded all my expectations!! Sooo many apples left to be picked and super easy to spread out. We arrived around 11AM and there was parking, not too many people on the fields. They also have cows, chickens, goats, and alpacas, which is really nice especially when you come from the city and want a wholehearted farm experience. We purchased their absolutely delicious doughnuts and apple cider (wish we got more), as well as some hot sauce and honey! We also stopped by Mill House Brewery afterwards for lunch after trying their Oktoberfest beer at the orchard! 10/10 would recommend to others and we definitely want to come back for whatever other picking they offer!!
google avatar

Yelp
Going with a "No" of you are going for what they call "The Tavern". A big YES if you are going for Apple / peach picking. I went thing the Tavern was a tavern. It's far from that. They did have a few beers on tap. One of which was theirs. The beer choices are very limited but there is no bar. If they did t call it a tavern and entice me by
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
What a nice farm. It was pretty busy on a Monday afternoon in the fall but definitely worth the visit. No charge for admission, pay for what you pick. The fresh food options are nice and the taproom is a plus!! Looking forward to returning!

Yelp
A beautiful farm. Great place to spend time with your loves ones. There's a good amount of space for parking. Portable restrooms are available throughout the farm. There were grapes, pumpkins, tomatoes and apples available for picking when we went the first weekend of October. A lot of the apples had already fallen from the trees by then and it smelled like rotting apples. Some of the trees were blocked off and we couldn't pick from them. I liked that we were given a map of where we could go so that we used our time more efficiently. There was an area for pumpkin picking and there was also a corn maze. The apple cider donuts ($11 per dozen) were very fluffy from here. So good that we ate one in the car and then went back and got another dozen before heading home. We also got fig jam, pumpkin butter, and pumpkin pancake mix from here. The pumpkin pancake mix was very good. It was pretty cold the weekend that we went to DuBois, so warm apple cider ($1.50) really hit the spot. Their bakery has donuts, pies, breads, and apple dumplings. There's barbecue food available for purchase here as well if you get hungry. Save all receipts from the barn store! They'll be checked on your way out. Brought home some of the Cortland apples as well as their Macouns and Fujis. Apples are $1.69/lb. They were all very sweet and crispy. We baked some pastries with them and my family loved what I brought home. Grapes are $3.19/lb. The boxes that I saw people paying for looked really good, but we didn't have time to pick any. You can also rent their wagons so that you don't have to carry your bag while you pick apples.

Yelp
Landed at 9:45 am with 2 adults and 2 boys (4-9) with the obligatory plaid flannel shirts on. Everything is set for a successful trip, wagon to haul, bags to pick apples, map to find different varieties, fresh made cinnamon apple donuts, pumpkin patch and lots of bathrooms/wash stations..... oh oh oh... and a corn maze. We spent about 3hrs at the farm and everyone we met could not of been friendlier. The apples were/are great and overall we spent less then it would of cost us for a game of laser tag in Brooklyn (2 bags apples, dz donuts and 2 large pumpkins). It was quiet when we were there, however, leaving at 12:30-1 it was beginning to get packed (as expected). Get ya flannel out, make the trip, get there early and pack a few bushels of apples. Our new go to spot.

Yelp
Nice venue with a good selection in their food sales, and good hot food sales, but the kitchen was slammed and they were having trouble getting orders correct when we were there. Hot foods were good, but salads were small and somewhat disappointing. They labeled their apple rows and offer a map, but there was no boardwalk or pea gravel path for some wheelchair accessibility. I don't think the petting zoo was available/there when we visited. The parking seemed ample, but a bit chaotic.

Yelp
I have always gone to Wilklow orchards for PYO and I am a severe creature of habit. HOWEVER, I heard the ad for DuBois farms on the radio the other day and decided to branch out of my comfort zone and I'm glad I did! My friend and I came yesterday (9/29) and had a wonderful time. The property is spacious and absolutely beautiful. Even though we had rain earlier in the week, the ground was very dry which made for an even more pleasant experience. Since it was midday on a Wednesday there were no crowds either. We picked apples, had an adult beverage and wandered around. There were plenty of apples to pick and at the front they supply wagons so you're not left carrying around your apples, pumpkins, etc. The staff was all super friendly and I can truthfully say, this orchard surpassed my expectations ten fold. The only thing I didn't get that I really wanted was a cider donut since that day they were only selling them by the pre-packaged dozen. I assume because it's a lighter crowd during the week, it doesn't make sense for them to make them fresh.

Yelp
Ok so the pizza was good;so were donuts. BUT....pick your own strawberries 8$ a lb. Organic strawberries in a store are 2.99...and they have all the farm costs PLUS shipping, refrigeration, store space etc.... so nearly 3X the pric???? disappointing!!

Yelp
A wonderful PYO experience. Friendly and helpful young people at critical places along the route. We dragged a wagon through beautiful orchards, with plenty of beautiful peaches, apples, tomatoes and eggplant available. Headed over among the chickens, ducks and goats to fetch huge zucchini and Zestar apples. All in all a lovely day, some good exercise and a beautiful view of a farm. Highly recommend the cider donuts.

Yelp
Awesome apple picking with lots of varieties and beautiful crop. Also offered grape picking. The tavern food was great with outdoor seating options near a pumpkin patch. However, it was super crowded and seemed a bit chaotic. This could have been since I visited on a Sunday after a rainy Saturday. Would go back for the food and quality of apples; would not go back for the ambiance or if I was wanting some place more quaint.

Yelp
Unfortunately last weekend was the last time. Arrived after 1:30 after a 2+ hour drive from the city. They restricted guests to a sad vegetable garden that was past its prime, saying no more peaches. You could clearly see they had peaches left from afar. Now instagram says to come join them this weekend to pick peaches? I guess farms are no different from any other business. They just wanted to leave some to attract suckers to take a long trip up and spend their cash on donuts and pies as consolation prizes.

Yelp
We had a delightful morning, picked a wide variety of delicious apples and Concord grapes. The apple cider donuts were on point. Parking was easy. Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
Expensive!!! 2 little pumpkins cider and donuts almost $30!! Only sell donuts in $18 dozen! Crazy! Nice grounds but cost for everything makes up for it!

Yelp
One of my favorite farms!! We go every year and we have a great time. My daughter tells me it's one of her favorite family time together. Great selection of apples and other yummy veggies.
