Exciting Restaurants to Try in San Jose 2025 | Eater

"With four locations in San Jose, this no-frills takeout joint beloved for bánh mì is easy to find. However, you’re also likely to find a line, no matter which location you choose. Here, a crusty French baguette cradles either pork belly, meatballs, pork floss, or 15 other sandwich fillings layered with pickled vegetables that add vinegary punch and crunch. There’s even the option to create your own bánh mì. Whatever you order, trust that the long line is well worth the wait." - Christina Marie Mueller

The best banh I have had! Bread is baked fresh. Their grilled pork and grilled beef was so tender and delicious. They have a small($4-$6) and large($8-$11) size. There is no place to sit and eat just to go. You order inside and pickup outside at the window. Definitely, must try if you are in the area!

Google
Don’t get me wrong. The food here was flavorful and delicious. Much better than the “Lee sandwich”. But the wait was LONG, long and very long! The bread is fresh, packed with protein of your choice and pickled veggies, cilantro, and jalapeños. My order was taken at 10:03 and my number was call at 10:48. 45 minutes of wait on the Saturday morning for two sandwiches. I will call next time or don’t come on the weekend

Google
It boggles my mind that there are two restaurants next door to each other serving Banh Mi, and yet the lines are constantly long. The Banh Mi Baguette was fresh, crisp, and toasty, I liked the texture. The Bun Cuon, was delicious, full of ground pork, and the sauce was enough till the last bite. Very fresh, and reasonably priced. I had to get the yogurt, so refreshing and not too sweet, just delicious

I ordered the Banh Mi Dac Biet cold cut combo number 2. Delicious sandwich. Freshly baked crispy baguette 🥖. Good amount of meat to vegetables ratio. They use thick cuts of cold cut meats. Good butter and pate.

Google
One of my favorite things I’ve eaten recently at great value. Got the grilled pork banh mi (#1 I think), their most popular item. They have a buy 4 get 5th free deal - I reheated in toaster oven same day and it was as good as when I got it, then gave some away. Also a great location as there are many other stores nearby (tofu, bakery) where you can go shop while you wait for your sandwich. I went on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and it was a pretty long wait (25 minutes).

Google
Mi favorito of the Duc Huong locations. Why? There’s more parting available here. The line isn’t as long. The food is still delicious. There are other convenient stores nearby. I like the grilled pork and grilled chicken bahn mi the most. Made on individual soft baguette bread. A good amount of veggies and a nice spicy flavor from the sliced jalapeños.

During our recent trip to San Jose, we came across numerous reviews praising a local hidden gem in the city. Intrigued by the positive feedback, we wasted no time and headed straight to this mysterious eatery for lunch upon landing at the airport. Eager to try them out, we both ordered sandwiches, unaware of the delightful surprise that awaited us. The moment we took our first bite, we were blown away by the incredible spice kick infused into the sandwiches. It had been ages since we had savored a sandwich that packed such a flavorful punch. The taste was simply amazing, leaving us craving for more. Impressed by our initial visit, we decided to explore another branch of this establishment located near our hotel. To our delight, the experience was equally exceptional. It became evident that this place would be our go-to spot whenever we found ourselves in San Jose, solely for the purpose of relishing their delectable sandwiches during lunchtime.

Google
Duc Huong Sandwiches on McKee Road is a go-to spot for Vietnamese banh mi, serving crispy baguettes filled with flavorful meats, fresh herbs, and house-made sauces. The grilled pork and cold-cut varieties are popular picks, offering a good mix of textures and traditional ingredients. The shop keeps the pricing affordable, making it a great stop for a quick meal but it can get crowded during peak hours. While the service is efficient, communication may require a bit of patience, especially for first-time visitors. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese flavors, Duc Huong delivers a satisfying experience.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches at a great price- what is there not to like? This is my go-to banh mi place whenever I'm visiting my parents in San Jose. They even have a buy 4 get 1 free deal, so I usually hoard sandwiches when I get the chance to come to South Bay. This location and the Story Rd. location are the best ones imo. I usually go to this one for the convenience (marginally closer to home and easy, spacious parking) My favorite banh mi is the grilled pork and egg (trung & thit nuong), but I've also tried and liked the cold cut (dac biet) and grilled chicken (ga nuong). The line is always long (ordering is fast, waiting for the banh mi is not). I've gone at some wack hours, but it is nevertheless still busy. I recommend ordering by phone or online (beware they charge more) if you're pressed for time!

Yelp
Thus far the best banh mi sandwiches I have tried to date. From the first bite to the last bite, it was amazing. Bread was crispy on the outside and soft when in the inside. The meat was tender and juicy. The pickled veggies is very good and fresh. I recommend you order ahead like through the phone or DoorDash. There was a line out the door when I arrived. They have a bakery inside, but I was mainly outside do for pick up being through the window. Overall I give this place a 5/5 star review. Best banh mi I had to date and the service was quick. I arrived and my order was ready for me.

Yelp
Order ahead of time! It's better to order over the phone than Door Dash. They give you a free sandwich if you order a certain amount. Door Dash over charges too. There is no indoor seating. The line is always long. Therefore, order at least 30 minutes ahead of time. And yes the banh mi are AMAZING! You will Not be disappointed

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - We are regular loyal customers here, at this location. Their other locations are not as good and not as organized or friendly. And if you are following, this sandwich saved me after eating my "vegan" meal at Banh Xeo Ngon... And of course, from a night of drinking. #12 Spicy Korean Pork. #17 Grilled beef. Dessert - Got the rainbow sticky rice dessert which was so good, but filling. Like eating a bowl of rice, lol. All the food was good. The sandwiches were fresh. Again, we are loyal regular customers. Atmosphere - Small to-go location. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Quick and friendly. Counter service, then you wait outside for them to call your # to pick up your order. Price - $34ishl; my wife paid. Owner Comment - Congrats on your 5 locations; keep up the good work.

Yelp
Love these sandwiches!! Really bomb. We come for breakfast. It gets busy on a weekend, but if you come on like a Monday, there's no one. We usually get the banh mi thit nuong with egg for breakfast sandwich. It's hearty, breakfasty and lots of protein. We also love getting the dac biet, Vietnamese cold cut special. It's so good. They don't have the food items on the counter right away. We came and the vendors started coming and putting out their food. We got spring rolls, sticky rice with Chinese sausage, and Nem chua. I like the original location but line there is long and a lot smaller. This location is closer to my friend's house. The staff here are definitely the typical OG no service, no smile, straight forward Viets. Just don't take it seriously and get your banh mi and be on your way!
google avatar

Yelp
Duc Huong, you're the only banh for mi. I guess I'll have to learn to share you though since there is always a line out the door! Looking for amazingly delicious, creatively nutritious, and prices so low that you'd think they're fictitious... Vietnamese sandwiches? You're in the right spot. This is the only baddie I want to bag. The bread is so crispy, the fillings so luscious, and the pickled veggies so fresh that I could have sworn they whispered "eat me"... and so I did. Again and again. This is a no frills place with simple decor and to the point. You order and get your sandwiches at the side and go. Whether you are rich or you're broke, they got you covered. Thanks for standing banh mi, Duc Huong.

Yelp
The hubby was craving bánh mì today, so we headed over to this spot. Even before we parked, we noticed a long line outside--always a good sign! Turns out it wasn't quite as long as it looked; most people were just waiting on their orders. They've got a pretty efficient setup where you order and pick up from a side window outside, so the inside doesn't get packed. We ordered two #2s (Cold Cut Combo) with extra pâté (+$0.75 each) and one #13 (Pork Belly). The sandwiches are small but surprisingly filling--and only $4.00! A total steal. While we waited, I wandered over to 111 Bakery next door to browse. They also sell bánh mì and baked goods, so we grabbed one just to compare (it was cheaper $3.50 cash), but honestly--this spot wins hands down. The flavor, the bread, the balance of ingredients--everything was just better. Our daughter especially loved the pork belly--juicy, flavorful, and not too fatty. Great value, delicious food, and worth the wait. That said, next time I might try calling in the order ahead of time to save a bit on the wait. Tip: Don't be discouraged by the line. It moves pretty fast, and it's worth it. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I was craving some banh mi and nem chua and I happened to be in SJ and found this spot on Google Maps and omg Duc Huong....too good. The Banh mi's were unreal. The bread was so fresh, each sandwich was loaded with meat and veggies. I ordered #2 cold cut combo and #4 grilled chicken Nem chua: fermented pork - so yummy. Tangy, sweet, spicy, garlicky Service was pretty fast. Ordered at the front and then waited outside for my number to be called. This place is so good and I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
This is the third time I order delivery from this spot. So far I have tried the pork sandwich(once), and chicken sandwich (twice). Plus, their iced coffee. These mini sandwiches are delicious with plenty of flavor, meat, and veggies. The bread tastes fresh and they arrive in a plastic wrap. The quality of the sandwiches has been the same all three times. The mini sandwiches are perfect for lunch and I don't feel stuffed after I eat them. They make the food upon order and it is easy to choose a sandwich.

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday 11am and there were lines already forming to order and a crowd in front waiting for their food. Parking Lot in front of Duc Huong is a bit chaotic so I parked a bit further out to avoid the traffic. What causes this chaos is the cars parked illegally in front waiting for their orders which then narrows the amount of space for both lanes to pass. I ordered 5 banh mi's ( buy 4 get 1 free). $8 each. It took 15 minutes to wait for my food. The food itself is fresh and delicious. They have a wide variety if foods to try.

Yelp
Tasty and gets the job done. I prefer my usual grilled pork or dat biet, I get it on garlic bread and for some reason I felt like this location gives less meat and the filling and garlic bread is less fragrant and flavorful. It wasn't bad by any means but also isn't the same as the ones produced at the Story location. The one perk though is the lines here are shorter and the store is more spacious than the other location and there's more parking too.

Yelp
Might these be the best banh mi in the Bay? They are definitely one of the most popular. Came by in the late morning to pick up sandwiches before driving back up to the city. There was already a big line of people waiting to order and pick up. Ordering was actually the quick part and took about 10 min. You wait in line until you reach the counter, where you place your order and then have to wait until they call you. The menu is boldy on display above the counters so you can have plenty of time to decide what you want to eat. In addition to banh mi and bread, which is what they're known for, they also have other Vietnamese specialty dishes that you can just grab off the counter and pay for when you get to the register. For just two of us, we got 6 dac biet (cold cut combo) banh mi. We're never in South Bay so we needed enough for two days lol. We probably waited about 30 min after ordering before our sandwiches were ready but they were definitely worth it. There a perfect ratio of assorted cold cuts and the bread is so soft yet flakey. If you don't plan to eat right away, you can also ordered all the veggies on the side so they don't make your sandwich soggy. Paired with a Vietnamese coffee and it's the perfect lunch before an hour drive.

Yelp
Duc Huong is hands down my go-to spot for banh mi. The bread is baked fresh in-house, and you can really taste the difference--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The sandwiches are always made to order, which keeps everything super fresh. My favorite is the #1 Banh Mi Thit Nuong (grilled pork) in the large size. It's packed with flavor and has that perfect balance of savory meat, creamy butter, fresh herbs, and crunchy pickled veggies. I recently picked some up for a road trip with friends down to Monterey, and even after an hour-long drive, the bread was still crunchy and delicious. The store itself is very casual and only for ordering to-go. Pro tip: If you're not eating the sandwich right away, ask for the pickled veggies on the side--it keeps the bread from getting soggy and preserves that perfect texture. Trade-offs: The wait time can be crazy long. I waited nearly 40 minutes for just three sandwiches, and they have you wait outside, rain or shine. Also, parking can be limited since it's right next to a busy supermarket and 24 24-hour fitness. That said, the banh mi here is still worth it. Have a try!

Yelp
I've heard a lot of hype about Duc Huong both on social media and my friends and I'm excited to have finally been able to try it out during my most recent visit to San Jose. I read on Yelp there could be a long wait if we came around lunch so we tried to order over the phone, but unfortunately, it was so loud on the other side we had an incredibly difficult time placing our order. We tried our best, but when we showed up, it didn't look like they had gotten our order. I chalk it up to being our fault, as many other people were able to place pick-up orders just fine while we were waiting for our sandwiches to be made. My wife got the large #2 -- the cold cut sandwich, and I got the large #7 -- grilled pork and egg, both on garlic bread for $0.50 extra per sandwich. The garlic bread is absolutely divine! Nowhere else has this ever been an option for a bahn mi sandwich, but it's such a decadent, delicious treat. Additionally, I saw that many people here were ordering veggies on the side -- presumably so their sandwiches wouldn't get soggy on the drive home. I'll definitely have to try out this pro-move next time I'm here grabbing sandwiches for a long drive home. The grilled pork in my sandwich was tender and well-marinated and paired perfectly with the fluffy egg. I honestly could eat this every day of the week, but this sandwich is easily pushing anywhere between 600 - 1000 calories. If you're ever in the area, you must stop by Duc Huong for their sandwiches. There's a buy four (large), get one special so if you can find a group to share that with, you're in for an amazing deal. Cash and card accepted.
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Lots of bahn mi options at a great price. Service was quick even with lots of customers out the door.
google avatar

Maritel M.

Yelp
Not the Duc Huong location if you want the full sandwich menu like the other locations and NO GARLIC bread option here. Was pretty disappointed when I got there and ordered and it wasn't the same. Also, CASH ONLY!
google avatar

joey t.

Yelp
Buy 4 large sandwiches and get the 5th for free. $8 for a large sandwich I mean it's cheaper than Subway so can't beat the deal. Would give it 5 stars except for the service, but it's a to go place and they have a consistent line out the door so what do you expect? My go-to is the #1 Grilled Pork. Grilled chicken is also bomb.
google avatar

Danae L.

Yelp
Duc Huong has multiple locations in South Bay, but this location is supposedly easier to park and more comfortable standing wait area. I had the #2 combination with no jalapenos for $8.00 flat. Banh mi is gaining popularity in boba shops they charge at least $10 so it's a nice fresh breath of air to enjoy something cheaper. As with any authentic spot, this is to go only. You could try your luck with phone order if you're impatient.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
If you're a banh mi fan, Duc Huong is a must visit in the South Bay. Their in-house homemade bread is next level, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the perfect base for their generously stuffed sandwiches. Every ingredient tastes fresh and high quality, from the seasoned meats to the fresh, crisp veggies. But the real game changer? Their garlic bread. Buttery, garlicky, and packed with flavor, it's a must try. They also have a special, buy 4 get 1 free and we for sure took advantage of that!

Yelp
The best bahn mi sandwich spot in San Jose! They have a few locations in San Jose! My goto-The grilled chicken bahn mi! It's truly so good! Taste so fresh! And great portion size! Fresh baked bread is so good! The smell is fantastic! Service is fast paced so be prepared to know what you are gonna order!
google avatar

Abigail Joy Y.

Yelp
I've tried Banh Mi in other places and it wasn't the best. I guess that's why I don't go out of my way to eat it. My co-worker told me about this place and I'm so glad she did! I came here a few times in a month since I first tried it! I came in early morning after my morning run and it's always packed but the service is pretty fast, everything is organized and the employees are very nice. You can also call ahead of time so you can just pick it up when you get there if you don't like waiting and they have a dedicated line for pick up. I ordered the #10 and #7 and both exceeded my expectations. The bread is fresh and crunchy, the veggies are well seasoned and meat is freshly cooked and the serving is perfect! It's worth a 15-20 min wait in my opinion. You can also ask to put your veggies on the side so you're able to reheat your bread. This is my go-to Banh Mi fix from now on!
google avatar

Gerald L.

Yelp
Mi favorito of the Duc Huong locations. Why? There's more parting available here. The line isn't as long. The food is still delicious. There are other convenient stores nearby. I like the grilled pork and grilled chicken bahn mi the most. Made on individual soft baguette bread. A good amount of veggies and a nice spicy flavor from the sliced jalapeños.

Yelp
These are hands down the best banh mi you can get. The bread is bakery fresh and the ingredients are all high quality. The small sandwich is a meal for just about any appetite but if your really hungry, go for the large! If you buy 4 large you get one free, I just wish they had a deal on the small sandwiches as we usually buy 9 of them! The Dac Biet (#2) is awesome! It has 3 different cold cuts as well as pate and all the fixings. I also love the Xa Xiu (#4?) and the #8 is sooo good. Try them all! There ALWAYS a line out the door but it moves pretty quick. Be prepared to spend 15-20 minutes waiting for your order but it's totally worth it!

Yelp
Growing up, my go to was always Huong Lan for their Banh Mi's, but this time I wanted to try a new place. Duc Huong spread like a wildfire on social media, leaving me hesitant as I've always been been disappointed by trending places. The shop is a small, typical Vietnamese delicatessen, and ordering is quick. You just have to wait outside and they call your number when it's ready. I ordered a #1 Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) and a #2 Banh Mi Dac Biet (Cold Cut Combo). The thit nuong exploded in flavor, with a nice balance and sweet, salty, smoky from the grill, and fragrance of the lemongrass. The ratio of vegetables to meat was appropriate, and the baguette was crispy and airy. The dac biet sandwich was good, but the headcheese was sliced a touch too thick and there wasn't enough pate or Viet mayo inside for my preferences. #1: 8.8 #2: 7.6 For $8, a sandwich will definitely fill you up and I would say definitely worth the price. Will be trying the grilled beef and spicy korean pork next time, and with their garlic banh mi if available!
google avatar

Kathy N.

Yelp
Ate the vegetarian banh mi which came with mushrooms and the usual fixings and the fish patty banh mi which was fantastic with the mayonnaise they use! All their ingredients tasted fresh and delicious, it's no wonder there's always a line here!
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
My go to spot for Vietnamese sandwich! I usually get the "dac biet" special sandwich that has the Vietnamese cold cuts. Adding garlic bread is also a nice add on. The bread is warm, soft, and has a good crispy outer layer. The sandwich is always filled with meat with a good amount of butter and pate. They are usually busy but you order in the store and pick up outside from the small window they have. The have a buy 4 get 1 free large sandwiches which is perfect for friends and family.
google avatar

Kaelin N.

Yelp
First time at this location and it's so much more peaceful... There's actually parking and the line doesn't take 20 minutes to order. While the Large sandwiches are a good size and packed with meat for the combo, I think it lacks flavor. Good for the price, but bland and not giving. The pickled daikon and carrots aren't pickled enough either. FYI the buy 4 get 1 free is a good deal!

Yelp
Banh Mi's are a nice, affordable rolled-up meal, but the service is very minimal/nonexistent. Be prepared to wait for a looonnngggggg time. Also, check your receipts! Customer Service: There's pretty much none. You order at the counter, pay, then go wait outside for an eternity for your order to be finished. One time, I waited one hour to get 4 sandwiches in the blazing sun because there really is not shade in-front of the shop. Some cashiers are nice or at least efficient, but I have had a couple incidents where the cashier is super rude. Typically, the wait is about 30 minutes for 2 small sandwiches. Parking: There's a parking lot and lots of parking spaces, but this plaza is constantly busy. People also drive quite erratic. One time, I waited for a parking space, and then someone drove the wrong way and took my parking spot. When I told him I had been waiting for that spot, he yelled at me. Just drive slow and stay vigilant of dangerous drivers and unaware pedestrians. Pricing: Be careful with your receipt because it may not be accurate. They also charge if you use card (under a certain amount), but there's no signage and the cashier didn't mention anything to me. I noticed the charge and asked if I can switch to paying cash instead and she said no. I understand some businesses charge for card because of the transaction fee, but typically they will tell you (I think I was less than 10 cents away from the limit lol). There are also no prices marked on many of the items. Prices for everything has gone up, and of course it's the same here, although the price of a Banh Mi is quite worth it for a meal. It's pretty affordable and better than McDonald's. Food: The food is good, although I can't say I taste much of a difference from other Banh Mi places. That said, I'm not a big Banh Mi person. I like to ask for the vegetables/fillings on the side because I can never finish a whole sandwich in one go. I think there are some goodies here, like the Vietnamese honeycomb cake (banh bo), yogurt, and other things. Their baguettes sell out pretty often. No matter how early I go, I can sadly never get a fresh one. It's always been cold of me. Sandwiches come in small (hand length) and large size (about a footlong). Atmosphere: it is chaotic lol come with patience; there is no seating. You get in line, order, and either you get your stuff then, or you go wait outside. There's a small window where they call out orders.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this spot yet! Solid 5/5--hands down the best banh mi in the area. We went on a Saturday at 3:30 pm, and there was already a line outside--that alone speaks volumes. The line moves quickly, so don't worry about waiting too long. It's a takeout-only place; you order, and they call your number when your food is ready. We ordered two large grilled pork sandwiches (#1) for $8-$9 each, and wow, they were incredible. We devoured them. Honestly, banh mi seems hard to perfect because I've tried it at other spots, and most just don't get the flavor right. But Duc Huong does. First, the bread is so soft compared to other places. My husband is really picky about bread that's too hard, and while Duc Huong's bread still slightly bothers the inside of his mouth, he'll actually eat their banh mi, which says a lot since he avoids it everywhere else. The sandwich isn't overly sweet, which I love, and it's packed with a generous amount of veggies. Every bite is the perfect balance of bread, pork, and veggies. Duc Huong, please open a location in San Mateo--I'm begging you!!

Yelp
I was so impressed with this banh mi! I've actually never had a banh mi that I liked before but this one from changed the game for me!! The meat was SO good and it had pate in it?? Idk if that's normal but it was a first for me! Not to be dramatic but this banh mi might be the best sandwich I've ever had???

Yelp
I came back and got the buy 4 get 1 free deal. It's so worth it! I got the pork belly, the bbq pork and the beef. All of them were delicious and they reheat for the next day really well. The line went quick and the wait was not too bad on a Saturday. I waited maybe 10 minutes before my sandwiches were ready. This is a must stop!
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
You don't want to miss this banh mi spot in sj. Their lines be out the door but it's worth the wait. Thit nuong is what I always get here along with their mini baguettes! Coming here on the weekends is part of my weekely routine :)
google avatar

Ayush K.

Yelp
Ideally, I'd give it a 3.5/5 Duc Huong Sandwich is a popular spot in San Jose for a reason. The lines often extend outside the shop, so expect some wait time. One thing I appreciate is their display of photos for each sandwich, making it easy to choose. While you wait, you can also grab some light Vietnamese snacks to tide you over. I tried their #4 banh mi ga nuong, which was packed with all the classic fixins: cucumber, daikon, cilantro, and peppers. The peppers definitely added some heat, which I enjoyed. However, I found the sandwich to be a bit dry, possibly due to a lack of dressing. The prices at Duc Huong are very reasonable, and the large banh mi is incredibly filling. Parking can be a bit of a challenge in the area, but you should be able to find a spot eventually. Service is quick and efficient; you order at the counter and wait outside for your food. They'll call your order number when it's ready. One thing to note - There is a small surcharge if you are paying using your credit card. Overall, Duc Huong is a decent choice for Vietnamese sandwiches in San Jose. I've definitely had better Banh Mi in San Jose While the #4 banh mi was a bit lacking in flavor, the other aspects of the experience were positive. If you're looking for a satisfying and affordable meal, Duc Huong is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
I came on a weekday around 6:10 pm and received my order in about 15 minutes. The line wasn't too bad, though it's usually packed on weekends. They were still baking fresh bread, and it smelled amazing. The value for banh mi here is really good, if you order four sandwiches, you get the fifth one free. I ordered two grilled pork (4/5), one cold cut (4/5), one BBQ pork (3/5), and one pork belly (3/5). Grilled pork and cold cut are always my go-to choices. The pork was well seasoned(not sweet today), and the cold cut was packed with meat (love their pate). The BBQ pork and pork belly were a bit dry and lacked flavor this time, though some days they're pretty good. Overall, their sandwiches offer great value for the quality and quantity of meat. This is one of my go to spots for Vietnamese sandwiches when I want something quick and simple to eat. If you want to spurge a little (extra $1.75), the grilled pork with egg is really good, the creamy egg yolk really elevates the sandwich, acts like a sauce and keep things moist as sometimes the sandwich can be a bit dry.

Yelp
I've tried the chicken and pork loaf sandwiches. They're SO GOOD. I normally struggle with banh mi because of the hard bread, but this bread maintained integrity while being soft enough to bite into. They have jalapenos (or some kind of green pepper) in the sandwich, and it wasn't spicy at all. There is a generous amount of meat and the pickled vegetables balance everything out. 10/10 would eat again.

Yelp
Food is decent however I found metal in my savory sticky rice! Horrible! As I was about to take a bite my fork pulled out a really long piece of metal. Very unsanitary and unsafe. Very disappointing. Especially unsafe when reheating the rice!

Yelp
This one is ok. Not as high volume as the location on Story Rd. Product is not consistent across all the locations. They leave off the avocado on the chicken BMs here. The story rd location has a better product. This store needs renovation. Might be different family member owners for the different owners and they don't make enough profit to both pay for their living expenses and renovate. Still the only BM place to serve 1/2 sized sandwiches below ~$5. Hard to tell with inflation what current price is. Freshly baked bread like the others and they make their own protein reducing costs. Mostly chicken or pork for cost. No beef or limited beef options.

Yelp
Ok I truly understand what all the hype and lines are about. This place has got the IT factor. How it works: - Go inside and place your order. Note: Buy 4 get 1 free sandwich - Stand outside and patiently wait for your number to be called Ended up getting the grilled pork banh mi and the combo banh mi. Grilled pork was a little bit on the sweeter side, so beware of that, but the combo banh mi is absolutely something you need to get. It is PACKED full of meat and pate and the bread, when toasted, complements the sandwich well. Just an overall amazing sandwich at ~$8. Note: There is a large and a small size and the large size is a "normal" size everywhere else. Plus, why bother waiting for a small sized sandwich? The staff is friendly and patient as well. Highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
Favorite banh mi spot to go to so far! Never too busy whenever I go, but nonetheless, quick service, and delivery. It's a small shop that sells other Vietnamese foods! So no sit-downs, just coming in to line up and order. When you're done ordering, waiting outside is best as the delivery window will call your number. I ordered Ban Beo which I had been recently introduced to and have been loving it ever since. Noticing that they had this here, I wanted to try. Not sure what the cream was, but it tasted good with the whole dish. As for the sandwiches, I ordered the Spicy Korean Pork. It's not really spicy, but flavor is there!!!! Even better when you ask for garlic bread. I haven't tried any other of their banh mi's besides the spicy Korean pork. But I will plan to come back and try!

Yelp
Best ban mi in California. That's it. That's the review. Seriously no need to read anymore. Just go.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious banh mi here. A colleague got sandwiches here last year and I needed to know where they were from. Went there literally the next day for sandwiches. I tell folks about this place and I swear it seems I'm the ONLY ONE that didn't know it existed. We've been back half dozen times at least and will continue to get our banh mi from here! It's just delicious and perfect.

Yelp
I got this coffee at 5:24 pm which is when my order went through. I got the sandwiches at 6:16pm. I think this place is deserving of good reviews from their food alone, but the service I experienced today was absolutely awful. The woman who was calling orders in the front would ignore people who asked if their numbers were called yet and was very dismissive to customers. She actually answered my mom and replied it wasn't ready yet (we asked after 30 minutes while noticing people who came after us got their food). At around 6:12 another woman came to ask me what my number was when she saw I was there for so long and said they dropped our receipt and did not even know our order. I'm glad someone noticed and we were able to get our sandwiches quickly after but there was no communication on their end earlier and no compensation or communicative compensation in any form (a sorry?). I am not one to leave reviews purely on service so I still gave 2 stars because I do think their food is good! I do think high reviews for food alone is not representative of an establishment and they should be noticed for their service if it is a huge error on their end.

Yelp
I NEED to eat a Duc Huong banh mi again. Phenomenal flavor and price. *sigh* I wish teleportation existed so I could teleport to my banh mi. I got the #1 Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork). Good portion of meat, veggies, and baguette. What surprised me the most was the baguette. Normally, a lot of baguettes are too hard and dense. However, the baguette was a perfect balance of soft crumb and crunchy crust. Also, normally, there is a line. I ordered ahead and skipped the line. It seemed like the line moves pretty fast. The interior is not a very big space. If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely eat at Duc Huong again.

Yelp
#1 is delicious! Honestly there's no wrong choice, all the banh mi are ! They make the baguettes in house as well, and the pate is a highlight! Service is helpful and at a good pace for such a busy place.

Yelp
Duc Huong is a must-go if you're looking for a freshly baked banh mi spot that is beloved by the locals. I stop by here a couple times of month when I'm craving a banh mi sandwich. I go at various times throughout the day but there is usually a line so expect a 10ish minutes wait. I love ordering their thit nuong sandwich along with their crispy rice crackers along the counter. It makes for a crunchy and savory snack. Also if you're a fan of garlic bread, you can request that bun for an additional cost!

Yelp
I truly don't know where to begin with this place. Growing up in Nebraska, there wasn't very many option for good vietnamese food. I had always liked banh mis but I never really tried one worth raving about...until I tried this sandwich Duc Huong immediately caught my attention when I heard they add a garlic crunch to their banh mi. Upon arriving I saw a line out the door, which to me, is usually a good sign! The wait went by quicker than expected and when I finally got the sandwich it exceeded my expectations! The grilled pork had a smokey flavor and tasted extremely fresh! The egg provided a nice contrast to hot pork. However, the star of the show was the bread. The garlic crunch bread was out of this world. It was a the connecting piece taking this sandwich good to amazing! I have nothing but positive remarks for their food! I will 100% be returning again!

Yelp
Very tasty. If you want cheaper Vietnamese sandwiches go here. The pork belly one was tasty! Never had it before but my brother does at other banh mi shops so I was curious to get one here and it was my absolute favorite! Service was quick. Order in advance if you don't want to wait and you may have to pay over the phone for this too! We ordered like over the phone close to 1.5 hour before they closed and man they ran out of bread before they even closed! Some of the workers have a heavy accent so be patient with them but otherwise excellent service and made sure our order was correct multiple times over the phone. My only regret is I didn't try the Vietnamese coffee!!

Yelp
Date: Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 Meal: Lunch Delivery Feeding: 2 people Time Ordered: around 2:40pm Time Delivered: around 3:20pm How: DoorDash Delivered To: Evergreen 1. Thit Nuong / Grilled Pork: Lon/ Large ($10) 4. Ga Nuong / Grilled Chicken: Nho/Small ($5.25) I adored my small / mini chicken sandwich. Actually the perfect size for me since I finished the whole thing. The filling was good and the bread soft and chewy. One thing to note, their sandwiches do not come with pate. DoorDash has a section where you can check off no to any ingredient in the sandwich. No Pate was an option so I figured their sandwiches came with it. If I had known they don't I would have added it. Other than not coming with pate, a solid banh mi. REVIEW #3477

Yelp
Hot damn this place hits the spot! Came here for lunch on a Saturday and had to wait in line to order and wait longer to get my food but it was well worth it! Ordered the combination pork sandwich and it was meaty, quality with deliciously fresh bread. I would definitely come back here and try their pork bbq! It's also right next to an Asian market so you can take a look over there while you're waiting
