The Best Dishes Eater Dallas Ate in July 2025 | Eater Dallas

"I’ll have more to share on this new hotel restaurant in Fort Worth soon. But I need to highlight Duchess’s shareable charred eggplant and fried onion dip served with an array of vegetables, including tiny carrots and radishes with the stems still on. It’s an eye-catching dish — the four-top next to me placed an order after they saw mine arrive. I am seeing various vegetables get the hummus treatment all over DFW this summer, and I love it, but this was the first iteration of an eggplant hummus or dip that I’ve come across. Eggplant does a great job serving as a blank canvas for the flavors you put on it, and the crispy fried onions, which are smothered in chile crisp, have so much room to shine. I loved it best with the potato chips, but the purple turnip quarters were a close second. All that crunch with such a soft, supple dip was a truly enjoyable experience." - Courtney E. Smith

I went with a friend and we thought we would give this restaurant a try. We were not let down. I was a little sceptical at first because of reading other reviews. We both were blow away. Our server Robin could not have been better. We both order a salad. The Watermelon salad and I ordered the Ala Wedge salad. Both were beautiful presented and delicious. For our main meals I ordered the Texas corn & Ricotta stuffed Farfalle and my friend got the Center-cut Filet 8oz. Again both were delicious. For dessert we shared the Toffee Date cake, very yummy. I say give it a try and I think you won't be disappointed. Also we had no problem with parking.

Have been here a couple of times already, it is a good, solid experience a couple of dishes have been a knockout (trout), but couple other underwhelming (pork belly). The menu is somewhat small. The place had a good vibe, good service and it is nice looking. The couple times we've been there have been pretty quiet and can get in without a reservation. Definitely worth trying.

Top Chef alum Casey Thompson hit it out of the park with this restaurant! Went for a business dinner and everything was beautifully prepared and tasted incredible. The wedge salad and peaches & cream dessert looked like works of art. The Ricotta Gnudi literally melted in your mouth and was to die for. The service was impeccable and Casey even came out to greet us. She is such a huge talent in the culinary world and Fort Worth is so lucky to have her. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

Overall, really disappointed. It's just a basic hotel restaurant barely a step up from a Double Tree. First, it was a really weird vibe. There's 14 tables in a small, bare room near the hotel lobby. It doesn't have any bar or kitchen. They use the lobby bar, so you're competing for drinks with the hotel patrons and the waiters are tripping over dogs walking through the hotel hallways delivering food (our waiter had to maneuver around a dog in the hotel while bringing the food). The food itself was all pretty good, but overpriced. For the experience, I can get better food for the same place at a lot of places nearby.

We made a reservation for dinner with friends and had a wonderful time! Dutchess has great cocktails and wine options, and the food is savory and filling. The atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent. I was surprised it wasn't more busy, but we did have a late reservation on a Monday night. They've been open since May, and I'm already planning my next visit l. We ordered a few appetizers and a salad to split, and each had a dinner entree, plus an order of the whipped potatoes to share. I spent about $100 for appetizers, wine, and a steak frites dinner. Would highly recommend the crispy ravioli, and we really enjoyed the eggplant & onion dip with the homemade chips and vegetables crudite, and the butter lettuce waldorf salad (we split it 4 ways, but it was large enough to be an entree or to split as a side with your mains...the miso caeser or wedge salads both looked delicious too!) I would love to try the snapper crudo or bone marrow appetizer next time. For mains, our group ordered the steak frites au poivre, tagliatelle pasta, & jalapeno onion burger and all were delicious! I really enjoyed my steak, but next time I would taste the bricked chicken dish, or try a salad with the tagliatelle. The salmon also sounded really tempting! Even having a salad and order of the fried ravioli would be so good. I'm excited to go back and taste more of the menu. The plating was beautiful, but I didn't get any photos this time. This would be a nice date night spot, or happy hour with heavy apps. I'd recommend a group of 2-4. The vibe was intimate & upscale. I would not recommend bringing kids. Parking was fairly easy, I found a street spot behind the BBQ place (just watch signs and DO NOT park in the reserved lots.) It's also an easy enough spot Uber and walk around/explore before or after dinner. Morgan's, Emporium, Atlas (and several watering holes) are all walkable from here. Would definitely check out the outdoor patio when the weather warms up!

Arrived to the hotel late one night needing food. Was happy to see there was a restaurant on site, but was disappointed they didn’t do room service. I decided to go in anyway. Very limited options - but found something I thought I’d try. It was decent but not anything spectacular. While the chicken was good - the cheesecake was better. While good - it is overpriced and limited options. It’s an entree with sides à la carte place. Enjoyed the bbq place next door better the next day.

Had a nice dinner at the Duchess at The Nobleman. Typically, I'm not excited about hotel food, but I was meeting a friend and was pleasantly surprised. We got the broccoli, miso Caesar salad, pasta and trout. All were very tasty!

The food was very good! Started out with espresso martinis. Very sweet but delicious! The fried burrata was very yummy! Also got the tagliatelle and the roasted chicken. Both very good! Service was lacking, but that was fine since we were a table of moms looking to just talk the night away! The restaurant is very small and the noise was loud for very few tables.
