"The Duchess has been around since the Great Depression, but it’s aged well. Sturdy wooden booths contain the etchings from customers of yesteryear, and there’s a Hall Of Foam wall where you can get your name on a plaque if you drink every rotating beer on tap. The snack selection works great with said beer, particularly the tasty grilled chicken sandwiches. Immortality is up to you." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"The Duchess has been around since the Great Depression, but it’s aged well. Sturdy wooden booths contain the etchings from customers of yesteryear near purple pool tables for the UW crowd. There’s also a Hall Of Foam wall where you can get your name on a plaque if you drink every rotating beer on tap. "This dog-friendly, UW alumni bar with billiards and darts is a great spot for a last-minute hang with your friends. Hot wings and burgers take up most of the menu, but we’re particularly fans of their pizzas, crispy little shoestring fries, and buffalo-coated chicken fingers that are way better than their bone-in wings." - aimee rizzo
"The Duchess is a dive bar that’s one of the few places in Seattle where dogs are allowed inside. Which means it’s great for when sitting outside isn’t in the cards. Here you’ll find pool tables, UW alumni watching sports, and fried bar snacks that are probably coming from freezer bags but are exactly what you want with pitchers of beer. And, even though grilled chicken at a dive bar sounds like a last resort, theirs is very tasty." - Aimee Rizzo
