Duchy Grub

"A friendly young couple run this endearing little bistro in a holiday caravan park on the north Cornish coast. After years of cooking for pop-ups and private dining events around the county, they now have a permanent space and we should all be very grateful for it. The well-priced sharing plates really pack a punch and showcase an expansive range of global influences; you could order a manchego snack, soy-glazed pork rib and kaddo bourani in the same visit. Two to three dishes per person is about right, but a group of four could probably eat the entire menu." - Michelin Inspector

Very much a hidden gem! The food was some of the best I have eaten for a while. The service was excellent and everyone was very attentive. The atmosphere was lovely and I would highly recommend. My girlfriend is vegetarian and even though that meant she ate mainly small plates, she loved everyone. Cocktails are definitely a plus.

For the last three years, this amazing little restaurant has been our go-to place for the best meal out in Cornwall. Chef Joe creates a menu where every dish is original, most sourced locally and all delicious. it's a truly original place in a restaurant world where homogeneity normally prevails.

We had a really lovely meal at Duchy Grub and the food lived up to expectations - Greta quality and flavours. The service however was too fast, it was not paced which meant to meal was rushed which did impacted the overall experience.

Very odd location at a camp site Signposted at the front gate when approaching from the left, but not from the right, go through main gate and take the right hand fork, once again no sign ?? Excellent food and staff, let down by the ‘Crispy’ Roast Potato’s , crispy to me is like a triple cooked chip, these had a leather quality when being cut and chewed, however others on the table liked them Balcony eating a bit dark under cover, could do with some more natural light, especially when sat at the lower of the tables you cannot see over the balcony sides Eating inside also seemed very dark, I suspect my view would change if we were eating at night (in the dark) with the balcony lights on, but lunchtime eating ambiance is not for me, I need to able to see outside the ‘window spaces’ But well done to all involved

We came for a lunchtime slot in the sunshine and couldn't have asked for a better meal. Incredible atmosphere (great music!), very attentive and knowledgeable staff, all complimented by an inventive, creative menu. A huge fan of the heavy native Mexican influences running through the menu - cocktails are heavenly and the turbot & mole dish was other-worldly. The absolute BEST eating experience we've had in 25 years of coming to Cornwall

Incredible dinner. Was too busy enjoying the experience to take more pics! But attached is the burrata. Definitely the best meal we’ve had since a Michelin starred French restaurant in Burgundy last summer. Beautiful flavours, great atmosphere and would 1000% recommend. We’ll be back :)

The food here is amazing! And the team are lovely. It’s a bit loud inside but the outer covered area is quieter if needed. They were absolutely amazing at catering for gluten free (I am a coeliac) and almost everything on the menu was gluten free. They even brought out the flour to double check I could eat the brownie. Really recommend this place for shared food. Little bit harder for vegetarian but the menu is always changing so it may be different next time.

A true hidden gem, well worth the journey and its unexpected setting. Whenever we’re in the area, it’s an absolute must. Run by the friendliest couple, this spot feels as welcoming as it is special. The plates are exceptional value, showcasing amazing, high-quality produce. There’s always a fresh set of dishes to try, but we keep coming back for favourites like the divine hispi cabbage and the chef’s brilliant take on steak tartare. Bottom line: this place is a must-try. You’ll keep coming back!
