The Best Classic Restaurants in Phoenix | Eater Phoenix

"When The Duck, as it’s affectionately called by its legion of regulars, opened in 1972, it was housed in a tiny cottage beside a grassy, tree-shaded park, but — as so often happens — developers paved paradise and put up a parking lot. However, this popular sandwich shop and market — which also sells wine, coffee, cheeses, and other gourmet items — survived the shake-up, moving in 1985 to a cozy spot just across the driveway, where it’s been dishing out creative, high-quality sandwiches, soups, and salads ever since. Check out the “signature nooners” section of the menu for fun sandwiches such as the “the Duckling,” a Thanksgiving-ish assemblage of smoked duck breast, roasted turkey breast, cream cheese, cranberry relish, and spring mix on cranberry-walnut country bread." - Nikki Buchanan

Best Wine Bars in Phoenix, Arizona - Eater Phoenix

"Established in 1972, Duck and Decanter is the neighborhood spot that likes to cater to its community. The wine by the glass menu is exceptionally reasonable. A glass of chardonnay costs $5, while a riesling is also affordable at $6.50. The menu features several sandwiches like albacore tuna, roasted chicken, and beef pastrami." - Rudri Patel

What do you do when you’re heartbroken, sweaty from a post-gym meltdown, and suddenly starving for something other than emotional closure? You go to The Duck & Decanter, obviously. This local gem in Phoenix has become my faithful go-to for midday soul-soothing, and not just because the name makes me feel oddly fancy for someone who cried in the Eos parking lot. I ordered The Duckling (because we love a sandwich that matches our emotional state) and an iced tea, then claimed a spot on the patio like I was the main character in an indie film titled “Healing, But Make It Tasty.” The sandwich? Glorious. The tea? Restorative. The patio? A little slice of Phoenix peace before the sun decides we’ve had too much fun and cranks things up to lava. Honestly, this place hits all the marks: cozy, iconic, unfussy, and full of the kind of comfort food that reminds you you’re gonna be okay, even if Beau, the gorgeous auburn haired Swiss boy, broke up with you after saying “I love you!” 10/10. Will absolutely be back, heartbreak optional, appetite mandatory.

Google
This was a pretty pathetic turkey sandwich for $11. They don't make their own bread and the leaf lettuce was black and inedible. One small slice of cheese and then the rice kripy treats don't have prices, but it was $8. Pickles free, but not good.

Google
First time here from a recommendation by my dentist. I was excited from looking at the reviews, photos, and menu. It was so disappointing once I came to have lunch today. I had the (full) duckling sandwich $12.99, 8oz coleslaw $2.89, fountain drink 24oz $2.99, and Kettle Chips 2oz bag $2.39… with two free pickles. The sandwich was good quality, but skimpy on the portion of meat - see photos. The coleslaw was dry; and not creamy at all. The chips and pickles were enjoyable. Everything served ‘To Go’ in a bag. You find your seating. There seems to be enough inside, and far more outside — nice to see the weather improving for outdoor dining. Mind people who are in the way unsure of where to stand while waiting for their order. Bathrooms are in a separate facility accessed out the back… turn right, turn right, and turn left. They’re clean. Keep the lights on so the fan/AC continue to run. Parking is a challenge. A lot of spaces marked Reserved for Copenhagen and DXL… so many that it’s ridiculous. I parked a good distance in the Target 🎯 parking lot. There’s a lot more to D&D — novelties, cheeses, sausages, breads & crackers, wines, etc. There’s a separate room for sampling(?) and drinks. I don’t know if I’ll return. Try them and see for yourself. I was disappointed in the serving portion of the duckling, and the coleslaw could be creamier.

Google
Been here a couple times and I am always pleased with whatever I select. Ingredients seem really good, they certainly taste great. Most sandwiches are unique but they have a couple classics. The actual building is an interesting experience in itself. Do yourself a favor and stop in here sometime.

Google
Dashing in Sunday at noon to get a sandwich and this place is packed from inside to out the live music is great, The line isn't too long but that's after you order they will get right to it. The menu is varied and you will definitely want to try some of the decanter favorites. The Staff is very peaceful and cheery to help if you need it. Keep in mind it will be a bit of a wait even with barely anyone in there but the shop is great the prices are a bit expensive (compared to Jersey Mike's offering a whole giant for similar pricing) for some of the sandwiches its great in value though and the variety is plenty to choose from would come back for a group eatout

Google
Went for the first time, easy ordering setup and friendly staff. I ordered the full size Bacon, Egg, Cheese breakfast burrito, and it was sadly a borderline rip off. The “full size” burrito was teeny tiny and had what seemed like microwaveable bacon. It had very little flavor and came with a basic store bought salsa. Definitely not worth the $10 price. Their lunch options might be a better value, but would stay away from the breakfast items if you’re looking for a decent value.

Duck and Decanter is a hidden gem! Their sandwiches are incredible, with unique flavor combinations and fresh ingredients. The service is always friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Google
So I've lived within a 5 mile radius of this place for the past 20 years and just visited it for the first time 🤯. For most of that time I thought it was some kind of fancy duck dinner place. I was way off and thanks to Google maps I learned the truth! The building kind of resembles and old time cottage. When you get inside it's dated ,takes me back to middle school or a store front from the 80's or 90's.Now I like sandwiches, I like to think I make a great sandwich at home with my boar's head meats. Apparently I was wrong because the sandwiches they make here are insanely delicious 😋. We tried a salami sandwich, a ham and egg burrito and a turkey sandwich. Now I like ham but never in my life have I ever tried or tasted ham like this. Sweet and packed with flavor,it was amazing. On to the salami,it was the daily special so I wasn't expecting much. I'm not even a real huge fan of salami lol. Took the first bite and instantly a fan, thinly sliced and great flavor. Another winner was the turkey, honestly I will eat any of these sandwiches over and over. Each sandwich comes with 2 pickles...need more pickles they're only 25¢ for an additional pickle. They also have a store front, a coffee bar and a wine and beer section. Really cool place, service is great and plenty of options. Can't wait to try all the other options .

Yelp
Duck and Decanter isn't just a restaurant--it's a Phoenix institution, a community, and a place where every meal feels like home. The Blue Turkey Salad is my absolute favorite. It's fresh, flavorful, and consistently perfect--one of those meals you crave before you've even finished the last bite. But as much as I love the food, what truly makes this place special is the people, especially Jolynn. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to this place and its guests shine through in every detail. The Mettler family has built something extraordinary here, and you feel it the moment you walk in. Whether you're stopping by for a quick lunch or settling in for a relaxed afternoon, Duck and Decanter isn't just a great spot--it's a Phoenix treasure.

Yelp
I have passed Duck and Decanter for so many years while driving up the highway wondering what it was . Fate made me come in as I was shopping for a car w my daughter up the way. We walked over while waiting for her car to get evaluated. It was worth the walk . Tucked far away in a back corner , this novel looking " house" is a little harder to find in the parking lot. It has great outdoor seating w a fireplace. But at 110 we went inside . When you get through the door you are treated w the scent of cheese and bread . There is lots of things to grab your eyes. Novelty items for gifts , wines , coffees , teas , spices and more. We grabbed a menu and looked over the Interesting combos we settled on the Ruben , the whole thing and the fiery Italian . Some potato salad , extra pickle and chips The Ruben was really tasty I loved the bread was a bit softer and lightly toasted . It could have used just a touch more of meat , because it tasted so good , but in these economics I understand likely they cut back. The whole thing was packed w flavor , I read somewhere else the person was mad it had too much filling ? SMH .. iit was great . The fiery Italian had just the right amount of bite the salami wasn't fatty at all , bread held up to the last bite. The potato salad and pickle were basic. Not bad but was expecting a bit more. There is also a caution as we had someone in our party who is allergic to eggs and it was loaded. They were disappointed after my first bite they couldn't share. We sat up in the loft which was super charming and filled with restaurant memorabilia and paper clipping telling the story of the restaurant. Overall for the price and the equality of if I lived local I would put it on my lunch rotation to try more items. Or should I say , have another " nooner"

Yelp
Great local sandwich spot in a cool old carriage house. I love the vibe inside with seating indoor, outdoor, and an open second floor. They also have other goods for sale like books, trinkets, coffee and more. Service was relatively quick and was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of sandwich options and availability to build your own. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Second time coming here. First time the sandwiches were tolerable, nothing to write home about. I don't even remember my order. This time around--oh my gosh--literally the worst sandwich I have ever eaten. The Vermont. WHY is it on the menu. I am not picky at all but when i tasted the stale bread paired with the cheese spread......trash immediately. I couldn't even eat what i already chewed. I could cry this sandwich was so disgusting haha. It is a cool little spot but the food is meh and overpriced. 50 dollars for 3 sandwiches and no drinks?

Yelp
A valley staple for a reason! Quick service, cozy atmosphere, and incredible sandwiches. A perfect trio in my book!

Brad W.

Yelp
Probably picked the wrong food, but this sandwich was terrible. The lettuce was black, the bread was stale, and it was $11 for a tiny turkey sandwich. They also charged $8 for a rice Krispies treat. Price was not on label. Boring and bad sandwich.

Francis P.

Yelp
This place is such a gem. Duck and decanter is a Phoenix classic. Cozy interior with super friendly staff that are all nice, helpful, and smiley. The sandwiches at this place never disappoint. I got a mini turkey sandwich on sourdough and it was the perfect sized lunch for me. They have free pickles with all orders, and their Diet Coke is extra crispy. I love this place, if I could give Duck above 5 stars I would. The best spot!!!

Yelp
I've been driving by the Duck and Decanter for years but never stopped in until today. I've now realized that I've been missing out this whole time. This is a great place for sandwiches for not only locals, but those visiting. It's on our list for when friends come to town. Next time I'm going to try the wine experience.

Yelp
Was in this area to watch a grandson play soccer. They won. We all went to get something to eat. My son suggested we eat here as it was close. There was a lot of people there but getting in line and ordering went quickly. The unique thing is you can buy cheese and meats to take home. Their selection was very good. I got a BTC, their take on a BLT with cheese. Orders came fast and we all enjoyed meal. This is a place of I lived closer, I would come here often. There is seating inside, upstairs and outside. I you have a pet they can be with you outside.

Yelp
I've been passing this establishment for years and have always been curious about it. I came in later on a Sunday afternoon and the service was okay, it did take quite a while. The ordering and pick up process was kind of confusing. They luckily have lots of products to distract you while you wait. Plenty of sauces, biscuits, jams, spreads, seasonings and sweet treats to choose from. I was kind of bummed out they ran out of the cranberry bread because I ordered the Duckling. There was however, plenty of cranberry spread on the sandwich. There was probably a little too much for my liking. The potato salad was very bland, I do not recommend it. They included a tiny hard candy in my bag so that was thoughtful. I enjoyed checking them out and their outdoor patio. Charming interior, okay service and food.

Yelp
Absolutely adorable and charming sandwich spot. Haven't been to many places in phoenix that have this much character! D&d is located in a small old home around Biltmore and is a great spot for a quick easy lunch. Their sandwiches are made to order-they have several speciality sandwiches, or you can build your own. You order at the counter and they make the sandwiches in front of you, took around 10 minutes for my two sandwiches. Plus, the prices are very fair for what you get. The interior has a market with local goods, and they have tons of different chip and beverage options that you can order on the side. The restaurant is lined with historic phoenix objects including their original building plans and awards from the 80s which was super cool. Tried the briesciutto and fiery italian sandwiches. Both were solid sandwiches and made of quality ingredients, no major complaints but would try another sandwich there next time. Sandwiches also came with a pickle and small piece of candy which was cute!

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and I love the cozy atmosphere. They have a lot of unique local products that you don't see anywhere else, as well as an extensive coffee and loose leaf tea selection. The food is good, nothing too unique, but good if you just want a standard sandwich with quality ingredients. It's cool that it has been around for so long, and they have a lot of memorabilia around the restaurant. I think it would be a good place to bring a book or do some work, especially in the upstairs area.
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Great concept and had high hopes after all the good reviews but my group was pretty underwhelmed. We got the curry chicken salad sandwich, egg salad, and the marinated roasted chicken sandwich. Nothing special and tasted like something you could throw together at home. Would consider maybe coming back and trying for breakfast but won't be rushing back. Also, their bathrooms were pretty gross...
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
The best sandwiches with a gourmet market. And entertainment on the patio with great atmosphere.

Yelp
HIDDEN GEM OF PHOENIX!! This place has been in business for decades and honestly, I'm disappointed I hadn't heard of it sooner. I've now been twice and each time the staff is beyond friendly, welcoming and helpful! My first visit, I spoke with one of the team members and she shared she'd be working for the owner for years and how great of a place it was to work. The interior is so fun! You'll find cute little knickknacks for purchase, a coffee area, cheese fridge, wine bar, a loft and so much more. This place has TONS of seating from the outdoor patio to the upstairs that sprawls out. As for the food, I've only gotten the build your own sandwich but each time it was exactly what I was craving - delicious, homemade food. I got the roast beef with veggies, cheese and sprouts this most recent time. Was an absolutely divine sandwich. They offer a half and full size, I'd recommend paying for the full since the size difference is big but the price difference isn't. More bang for you buck, plus, you'll want more. I also love the pickles! They have pickles as sides and as a pickle lover, I helped myself to 2. Yum!
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
This is a quaint and casual sandwich shop with local goods store and cafe in one. I was craving a sandwich and found this on Yelp. I ordered The Duckling, Full, and The Hot One, Full. From order to takeout, it took about 20 minutes. The Duckling - I enjoyed this fall flavored combo. It was a cold sandwich and wasn't too filling but it hit the spot. The Hot One - I enjoyed this one because it was simple and tasted really good. The beef was tender but slightly dry. The horseradish was potent enough to clear all sinuses! It wasn't that big for the price so that was mildly disappointing. Their pickles were so good! You get 2 per bag and honestly the star of this show. There was a ton of seating and the place was home to many local and unique goods.

Yelp
If you're in Phoenix, go visit The Duck. Healthy and delicious sandwiches in a unique building. Be patient, as everything is prepared fresh.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch and tried their chicken salad herb sandwich on cranberry walnut bread with lettuce, tomato, and cheddar cheese. It was decent, nothing extraordinary. I felt like the chicken salad itself lacked the herb flavor that I was hoping for and the bread was pretty dry; almost stale tasting. :( However, the customer service was nice, and the patio area provided a nice atmosphere to enjoy the meal before heading out for the day's adventure. I would stop by again because the price was okay for what you got but only if I was in the area and would not go out of my way for anything here.
google avatar

Nikole G.

Yelp
Decided to treat myself to a working persons lunch- usually I save money by eating at home. I got the duck sandwich. I GOT THE DUCK SANDWICH! I think all of my calories for the day was in that 1 meal! I'm pretty sure I ate half a block of cream cheese. Sure sure! Super flavorful, could stand to have a few extra slices of meat though. Super sweet people working there. Oh yeah- I'll be back!
google avatar

Allan H.

Yelp
Nice spot for outdoor dining but have not been impressed lately with the quality of their sandwiches. I dined with several friends who had never eaten there, and they rated the food as good but not great.
google avatar

Jessa K.

Yelp
Above great experience at D&D. Though I don't go frequently, this was the busiest I had ever seen it. (saturday early afternoon) Staff are always friendly and I looooooove their homemade fresh pickles that are available to take. This place brings us so many great memories and is very nostalgic. I love the remodel they've made on the outside it looks beautiful!

Luis N.

Yelp
Ordered the Fiery Italian sandwich and it was great. The deli meats and the condiments used were delicious. They also have other items to buy. For example I bought a LB of coffee called "Cafe Mexicano" this coffee blend is phenomenal.

Amber S.

Yelp
Felt like a meal made with love, the atmosphere here is special and the ability to shop is a really cool take. Will be back!
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Two of my favorite things under one roof - eating and shopping. I tried their duckling sandwich and opted for a mini one because I wasn't too hungry but I wished I ordered a full one as their mini was really small. It was yummy too. The duckling had nice smoky flavor, but probably wouldn't have known it was duck if they didn't tell me. Seasoning was spot on and was complete with pickle wedge. Also tried their ice tea; they had nice selection to try. The shopping was fun. They had wide selection of loose teas and coffee. I was little overwhelmed so opted to save it for next time when I am in the mood to try it. Lots of knick knacks to look at and buy. Decent place to buy gifts. Enjoy!
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
The inside of this place is so fun! There is a lot more seating inside than it seems from the outside because there are two levels inside. There is a store inside and the walls are covered with historical memorabilia. It's a great place to enjoy lunch. I have eaten here a couple of times and it's always been delicious. Most recently I went and had the half and half option to get a half of a bleu turkey sandwich and half of a chef's salad. They were both tasty but I did not realize the bleu turkey was basically a turkey version of chicken salad sandwich. Not my favorite because I'm not a fan of so much mayo, but I can't complain because it was still delicious. The salad though was my favorite. I should have just gone all in on the salad.
google avatar

Allison D.

Yelp
Everything here is pretty simple but it's done well. The woman who took our order was super helpful - it was our first time and she gave a lot of great recommendations and was very patient. There's plenty of seating and it has a cozy, homey vibe. For the food, again nothing surprising but just straightforward food with attention to quality. I had a turkey sandwich on sourdough and got the oolong tea. Enjoyed both!
google avatar

Laine S.

Yelp
D&D was referred to me by a local colleague. "Great Sandwiches" I needed 90 different individually wrapped sandwich/salad options within 24 hours. JoLynn was patient, informative, and helpful all around with talking me though the best options and making recommendations for the dietary restriction options. Many thanks for making the process easy for us. Lunch was huge success. PS: Also the kind team of associates helped me to my car for the pick up of 6 boxes without being asked.
google avatar

Kyle C.

Yelp
Most of the indoor seating is upstairs, you might want to keep this in mind if you don't want to eat outside in the Phx heat. Although, when it is nice out, there is plenty of outdoor (both shaded and non-shaded) seating. Sandwiches are pretty good but are slightly overpriced for their proportions in my opinion. They have lots of options for drinks including different teas.
google avatar

H S.

Yelp
Darling place. Great food. Friendly, mature/well established staff. Clearly a local staple with a dedicated following.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
I love everything about the duck!! Great sandwiches and just a lovely environment. Everything's quick and delicious.

Debbie S.

Yelp
Duck and Decanter has always been one of my favorite places for a tuna sandwich. The last two times we've gone, I was very disappointed. We went about a month ago and I ordered an albacore tuna on a pita. There was barely any tuna. I could have put it on one side. I figured it was just a fluke. Yesterday, my husband met friends there for lunch. I wasn't able to go, as I had surgery the day before. I asked him to bring home some tuna. Imagine my surprise when I opened my half pound container to see there were more water chestnuts than tuna. There was enough tuna to make one sandwich. I hope Duck and Decanter isn't changing how they prepare and serve their food.
google avatar

Thomas P.

Yelp
They are consistently good, expedient and the quality is high. I love meeting people here for lunch.
google avatar

Thomas D.

Yelp
Takes me back to having lunch with my mom and dad. It was their favorite place when visiting. My favorite is egg salad on French bread. Thanks for the fond memories.
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
If you know me you know I love a good sammy. Duck and Decanter delivers amazing sandwiches, fresh salads and more!! There's outside patio seating and plenty of shaded spots outdoors. They even have a little water bowl station for your pups!! Hubs and I both got a build your own turkey sandwich, mine on sourdough and his on French bread. We also got some macaroni pasta salad and some desserts. For the 2 sandwiches, pasta salad, brownie and fudge it was $40. The build your own come with as many toppings you would like. They are generous with the meat and veggies! I loved my sandwich and liked they had sprouts available which I love on sandwiches. The sourdough was fluffy and perfect. (They also offer to toast it if you like). Hubs loved his sandwich but the French bread was a little tough like a beef jerky. You really had to pull on it to eat it lol. The macaroni salad was a mayo base with dill. It was fabulous and the kids really enjoyed it as well. They also have cookies, fairytale brownies (which is a local business), fudge and more. Take your time shopping while you wait for your order. Overall, an awesome sandwich spot to cure all your sandwich wants! We will definitely be back in to try their soups next too!
google avatar

Natalee G.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch! Food was great. It's hard to find a good gluten free bread and it was okay I'm still adjusting to being GF so I'm picky about my breads. We also got a few goodies from their little shop. The service was great. They have ample seating inside and out, it's the perfect area for a little lunch date. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Jessie R.

Yelp
I recently met a girlfriend here for lunch. We both ordered sandwiches, they were delicious. This place has a constant flow of business. I bought one of the packages of soup, you just add broth and protein, it was pretty good. Friendly staff too.
google avatar

Kris L.

Yelp
I like that you can build your own sandwich, selecting bread, fillings and dressings and all sandwiches come with optional pickle in a zip lock bag so that your sandwich doesn't get soggy. They prepare gluten free sandwiches in a separate location to help prevent cross contamination and while you wait there are cool food and gift items to look at. The seating upstairs is nice with a variety of nooks and crannies where you can find quiet areas if desired. The only drawback was the gluten free half sandwich was very small, Likely due to the small size of the GF bread. It was also hard to eat the carrots as they were large spears, I thought they would be thin slices or shredded. I'm glad I also got a side of coleslaw which was very good, healthy and not too much dressing.

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Good evening was there ordering some food today 04/01/25 as I usually do twice a month. I have gotten to know a few employees so just wanted to make an observation. This is the second instance where Jolynn one of the managers there berate an employee. This time she was yelling at a young man named Adrian who helped me a number of times. Very polite and courteous. She was yelling at him as she's at the register ringing someone up. Very disrespectful and unprofessional I must say. If this happens again I will not frequent this establishment anymore.
google avatar

Kort K.

Yelp
WOW. I have not been here in years but I can't believe how good my sandwich tasted. I ordered the spicy Italian sub. The bread was amazing. It was so fresh. It had the perfect combo of meat and veggies. I will be ordering this again!
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
I have been going to the Duck for years now. We used to go a lot when they had a really neat outdoor setting and music. Whereas that has all changed now, the food is still good, and I like to still go and grab a albacore tuna sandwich on marble rye for lunch from time to time. I appreciate that they are still open. They have lunch specials everyday and I love their selection of teas. I do miss the old patio and music, but again, I do highly recommend stopping by and grabbing lunch.
google avatar

Atreyu D.

Yelp
Always a great spot for a sandwich. Cool space in the bar area to eat. My only caveat would be the price point compared to the size of the sandwich.
google avatar

Playa K.

Yelp
We got a charcuterie board to share and a couple glasses of wine. I picked out exactly which cheeses I wanted (also salami and prosciutto) and watched as they sliced them fresh. The serving size was much larger than I thought it would be and it also came with some seedless grapes and whole olives. I was pretty surprised when it was only $22.95 for the food! THe atmosphere was welcoming and the woman pouring the wine behind the bar was very friendly. In fact, everyone working there was very friendly. I also bought a slice of flourless chocolate cake to eat later, but must confess it never saw the inside of my fridge as I gobbled it down in the car on the way home. It was a mouthful of cocoa goodness!
google avatar

Desiree D.

Yelp
Good fresh ingredients. Bread was a little hard for both sandwiches. Soup was good with a lot of flavor. Nice outdoor area that was dog friendly. Definitely worth going back to and trying something else next time.
google avatar

Craig P.

Yelp
We have been going here for years. Gluten free sandwiches are available. Their Gluten free bread was way better a few years back, but still okay currently. The staff is very friendly and it's a great place to sit and visit! Lots of seating inside and out. Big selection of beer, wine and fresh loose leaf ice teas.
google avatar

Molly S.

Yelp
Best sandwich I've had in a while. Got the cheese spread and it added just the perfect touch. Have a glass of wine and order from the bar.
google avatar

Alyssa G.

Yelp
Wow, what a wonderful establishment! The sandwiches are superb and the staff are friendly, efficient, and truly expert sandwich artists. Plenty of seating upstairs, downstairs, on the back patio, and the front patio. Lots of cute decorations and a beautifully curated market with several locally-sourced products to peruse while waiting for your sandwich, including a book of the history and recipes of Duck and Decanter written by a family member and owner of the deli. I love that! I really enjoyed the marinated roast chicken sandwich on multigrain bread with mayo, mustard, Swiss cheese, tomato, sprouts and red onion. Absolutely delicious. Perfectly crafted, everything in the right ratio. The chicken is the special on Wednesdays and comes with your choice of chips or coleslaw and a drink. I opted for the coleslaw and it was lovely - super finely shredded cabbage with a little carrot and seasoned nicely, not too much mayo as some coleslaws tend to be prepared. They have a soda fountain as well as a selection of five house brewed iced teas. I had iced tea and it was a nice midday pick me up. Sandwiches come with up to two optional pickle spears, a classic accompaniment to a fine deli sandwich. Duck and Decanter is one of the best places in Phoenix and I will definitely be back! :)

Jacoby J.

Yelp
Food was good just wish there was a little more protein in the sandwhich, iced tea was great! The store and market area was welcoming. Nice service, the food did take a little long

Yelp
Everybody from AZ knows about the Duck. I love this place, been going here since I was a kid. Variety of options and plenty of sweets as well. I fluctuate between the turkey and roast beef. Old fashioned feel, good service

Yelp
Sad excuse for chili. I was so excited to have some decent chili, and it turns out, they don't know what chili is. Chili is supposed to be thick and grainy, not soupy and watery. Their chili is not a stew, but a lame, overpriced soup. It was okay, just a watery-based cup of beans and brisket - not chili.
