I've been wanting to try their donuts for a while since they're consistently highly rated, and finally made my way here on a Friday a little after 11:00a.
This is located in the Trade Marketplace off of Michelson Drive near Von Karmen Avenue. There is an office building at the actual corner of Michelson and Von Karmen, so if coming downing Michelson from Jamboree, then drive past Von Karmen and it will be on the left side. This small center is pretty much surrounded by office buildings, so I wouldn't have known about it if I wasn't looking for Duck Donuts here. This small shopping center also includes the Trade Food Hall, other eateries (i.e., HiroNori Ramen, Ootoro Sushi) and service businesses (i.e., Thai Body Works, Unique Nails).
Parking was pretty full already, much to my surprise, especially since the eateries weren't busy yet. Luckily, I found one empty spot near the donut shop. The menus were all spread out on the counter, and I guess you choose what you want, and then they make it on the spot. The options were a bit overwhelming for me since it was my first time here, plus another customer walked in behind me so I felt pressured to hurry up. I ordered a 1/2 dozen for $17.00 - bacon in the sun, blueberry lemonade, s'mores, peanut butter & jelly, powdered sugar w/jelly, and raspberry fluff. I think a dozen was $28.50?
Since the donuts are made to order, it took a while to get mine (there was another order ahead of me), but I did receive a piping hot batch. Sadly, I didn't get to eat it right away. Even so, the donuts were surprisingly lighter than expected and cakey like many have said. Basically, the toppings make the donuts as the base are all vanilla donuts. A bit expensive, but they were pretty good (mostly yummy, a few that were nothing special). They got stuck to the box though when they were completely cooled down. Next time, I might just order online ahead of time so I can pick up right away.
They also serve ice cream, shakes, coffee drinks, and sandwiches. I tried their cold brew (medium $3.50) and although I'm no coffee connoisseur, I thought it had a nice strong aromatic coffee flavor.
