Duck Sauce

99% of the time I write only positive reviews and not negative reviews. This time I had to write about the Pad Thai. Was really in the mood and it is just mehhh. The orange chicken the same. It’s like the food is just sad. I’ve had nice meals from here. Maybe it was just tonight but won’t do it a second time.

The service was excellent! Very attentive! Nit many people inside on a Friday night but take out customers were back to back non stop so it's clearly a hot spot 👌 It was my first time so we got a few items, scallion pancakes, rangoons, pork fried rice, orange chicken and garlic steak. Appetizers were very crispy and perfectly made. Pancakes were airy and flavorful. I could have eaten 5 plates of that! 10/10 Rangoons were delicious. Crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside! 10/10 Pork fried rice ....amazing. 20/10 I would come here for Appetizers all day any day! Next time I come ill have to try the egg rolls and a few other items that caught my eye! So here is the ..odd part of the meal - IMO... I got the garlic steak. I *assumed* it would come with broccoli, baby carrots, etc. You know the typical "Chinese veggies" you would get with take out. Oh no no no. They went in a complete different direction. Red pepper Strips, sugar snap peas, carrots and large chunks of zucchini. A LOT of zucchini. I'm not mad about it. It was delicious and very spicy. But I'm just confused at why sooo much zucchini! To me it just made it look like "filler" veggies. I don't believe it was mentioned in the menu about which veggies...I probably wouldn't have ordered if I knew that. However the steak was very well seasoned and tender. I would definitely order this again, now that I know what to expect! Now, on the other hand, my date ordered the orange chicken and was very bummed about it. He did ask for it to be a little less spicy, so I don't know if that made the difference but it really shouldn't have. The chicken was HUGE chunks of white chicken breast, nicely breaded and coated, there was plenty of sauce for sure. Again with the odd choice in veggies but not as much. The sauce However just didn't have much of a flavor except sweet. There wasn't much of an orange taste or a spice at all. It was all one note. He ended up adding some of the duck sauce on the table to it and that helped it a lot! Normally people specifically ask for white meat only and I'm sure that's where their mind was at when making this dish - most people don't know how much better dark meat is- especially in sticky sauces like this. The very large pieces of chicken looked nice but once you cut them down to normal bite sizes they needed more sauce to even out the sauce to meat ratio 😬 If this was smaller cuts of chicken this wouldn't have been so bad. He said he would NOT order this again. I don't enjoy orange chicken so I have no say in that but he gave it a 6/10 for quality and presentation. One other thing that I noticed, that other tables meals had come with a bowl of white rice. Again, I assumed and don't remember what the menu said but I've always gotten a side of white rice with my meals at other places. Now I *assume* that because we ordered the pork fried rice they assumed that would be our rice. I would have enjoyed white rice more with the meals then pork friend rice which we got just to try as an app (it was a huge bowl for $15 so it was definitely taken home) That was a tad annoying on their part but thats on us for not asking. The service was fast. The staff was very friendly and attentive! 100/10 We would 100% go back...but we know to ask for more details or ask for substitutions for veggies next time! Over all 8/10!

Duck Sauce is an elevated Asian restaurant offering delicious Chinese dishes. I highly recommend the spicy pineapple fried rice with seafood.

This is our new favorite chinese restaurant. The food was fresh, properly prepared, and tasted great. The servers were friendly and efficient.

They Don't read what you order then the are don't care. I spent over 40 dollars and put no mushrooms on my order. I can't eat half of what I paid for. Their order systems is horrible. The menu needs details and the people who work there are rude and disrespectful. Never ever going back. Jim did call me back explain to me the new customer that's I used the system wrong and it my fault. I clear wrong no mushrooms. I never received any compensation for the fact I can't eat the I paid dearly for. Don't go there. There see better places

I have to say one of the best Chinese food around only thing is the restaurant needs to updated and it's not very clean either.

The awesome roll was amazing! The orange beef was so crispy and tasty! We also had hot and sour soup and sesame chicken that my kids absolutely loved. The atmosphere was cozy and loved the round corner booth and everyone that worked there were so kind always checking in on us great service! We will be frequenting this yummy gem! The food was too good, It got eaten before I could take a picture! Next time we dine in I'll add pictures.

Great food -- not greasy and the chicken was tender! Ordered sweet and sour chicken. Very pleased!

Friendly service, super accommodating to my wheat allergy, my rice noodles were delicious and even re-heated well the next day. Didn't dine-in, did take-out so no opinion on ambiance.

Our go to for amazing Chinese food ! We always start with the awesome roll and wonton soup and you can't go wrong with either of the two. The sesame chicken and general tso's are classics and done right. Service is friendly and the owner always makes a stop to the table. It's an overall great spot

This restaurant use to be really good but they have really gone down hill. The soup tasted like it was made with bullion cubes. The two dishes were not tasty at all. Very disappointing. To add to the poor foot was the ambiance. We ate outside and the porch looks like it hasn't been stained or painted in years. The area right by the front door was dirty. Looked like no one used a broom in years. To to it off the plant by out table was dead (see picture). To top it off, I asked for another bowl of rice (which was tiny), when I got the bill it was $2.95. ...really? Oh, and when I got the bill I gave the server my credit card and when he ran it I saw a service charge for using it. He never told me that there was a charge. This place is off my list.

Have been recommended this place many times and I'm so happy we finally gave a chance. It was very busy when we first arrived. Lots of picking up and takeout. We were seated at a cozy booth in the front, it was a bit hot (couldn't feel any AC) not an issue for me but my husband was uncomfortable that didn't deter us. Highly recommend the awesome roll & boneless spare ribs!! You can't go wrong with anything you order from here. Great service.

Way overpriced less than average food. Walked in and was EMPTY! Should have just walked out. Yeah, don't go here. Service was ok, though.

Ambiance is just OK but nothing special. The food is not traditional American Chinese, it maybe more traditional Chinese Chinese but I'm not sure. The service was not good. I had the impression that the people working there would rather be somewhere else.

Wow my daughter and I stopped here for a light dinner before an art show and it was sooo sooo good! The people that waited on us were so nice and then the food!!! The house salad with ginger dressing was exceptional we wanted to lick the plate lol. We had jasmine tea and honestly is was amazing. We both ordered 2 rolls and it was the best sushi we have had since Hawaii, so fresh! Ok sorry to go on and on but I can't wait to go back and nobody will be disappointed that's for sure!

Yuck Sauce: What can I say, this place used to be good, that was a long time ago. It's a shame because it's in a nice location, has a good vibe and the staff are quite friendly. I ordered the Chicken with Cashews, cubed, thick weird and flavorless chicken, very bad dish. My other half ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, the noodles were decent but again, the chicken had absolutely no flavor. It makes me wonder if one can buy chicken in a can, because that's pretty much what it tasted like. Very disappointing, it was no wonder that the place was empty on a Saturday lunchon afternoon. We used to like it a few years ago, but it's been sharply declining, to the point where it looks like they don't even care anymore. Bland, tastless and overpriced, I really hope that they get their act together, but this was the last time for us.

For us it's been over a year since we've been to Duck Sauce. As much as we are glad to see that they are open and still in business this night's dinner experience was not a great night for yelp reviews that's for sure. It all started off very good, we were recognized,as we had been regular customers. But it was clear that things werenot running as smooth as they could and should have. We start off with A bowl of the Shango wonton egg drop corn soup. The wonton skins were either not fresh or fully cooked. frankly the skins were chewy Amd in some cases we actually had to spit it out. My wife actually returned hers and asked for plain wonton soup and again same problem so something was not right in the kitchen. Next we ordered the Mushu shrimp with the pancakes to roll and the most weirdest experience, I openedthe steam basket and it was empty. How is that even possible? Doesn't a server check to make sure there's food in the basket before bringing it to the table, that's a first. For a main course we shared the wok beef dish with spinach leaves and that was ok. Very weird experience tonight for sure. here's a couple photos of the food. so just be aware and make sure you get what you ordered and make sure there's food in on the plate or in your takeout containers.

Their chicken lettuce wraps & orange chicken are very good. The chicken is real chicken meat. The menu is huge; I'm excited to try other dishes. Service is also good & it does have a good ambiance. Clean.

We did a takeout order. Portions were extremely generous and we had lunch the next day. Our order was fairly basic but dishes were tasty!

We were reluctant to make a reservation because of the mixed reviews. However, everything else in town was booked and we had an 8 o'clock reservation for a show at the Newtown Theatre, so we decided to give it a try. Overall, I would say that we were pleasantly surprised. Duck Sauce is very old-school. It reminds me of the type of Chinese restaurant I went to as a kid. The fried wontons on the table were fresh. They were served with both Duck Sauce and hot mustard... Just like It looked back in the 70's at my family's favorite Sunday night hunt growing up. The most disappointing part of dinner with soup. The wonton soup with served warm and the wontons themselves were a little doughy, like they hadn't been boiled enough. The soup did have fresh scallions and spinach floating on top which was a nice touch. The entrées came, and that put dinner right back on track. Beef with broccoli was crisp, fresh, saucy and rich. The meat was tender, and the broccoli was perfectly cooked. We ordered pineapple rice, and it was filled with an assortment of mixed vegetables and sweet pineapple with a slight burn, just as described on the menu. it was excellent. The star of the meal were the prawns with walnut sauce. They were gigantic, perfectly cooked, served with an exceptional sauce. They disappeared in moments, quite delicious. We also ordered three treasures. I must say, this is a difficult dish to do, lots of opportunity to overcook the proteins. But every single component of the dish was perfectly executed. This dish is the flavor bomb, pinenuts, cashews, shrimp, roast, pork, And chicken. There was one thing that "left a bad taste in my mouth", it was my husband's order of a glass of club soda, no ice. We were presented with an entire liter of club soda and we were charged eight dollars. It seemed a little excessive given the request, but we were in a hurry and had to catch our show, so we just paid the bill and left. Overall, I would say the meal, was a pleasant surprise. The interior is a little dark and tired, but it really does feed your long-term memories of what Chinese restaurants always look like when you were young. Don't let the mixed reviews deter you. Duck Sauce is definitely worth the trip .

The best egg rolls ever. They even have nice size shrimp in each. I have not had egg rolls this good in many many years. I ordered 10 to bring as my appetizer for a party. Made a tray with hot mustard and duck sauce for dipping. Cut them in half and it all looked very nice. Just about everyone asked where I got them from. Truly a winner.

This has been one of our favorite Chinese places to eat for about 15 - 20 years now, but things have changed for the worse over the past few years. I know the place was sold a few years ago, and the new owners just don't seem to care as much about the quality of the food or service. During our visit last week on a "non busy" weeknight, the "pot of hot tea" was barely warm, the meal was poor to average at best, and the service was terrible , with the server acting like she couldn't care less. This was enough to make us reconsider going back. The location in the Borough is excellent, but it may be worth driving to Yardley or another area to get a quality Chinese meal.

Stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner. We used to come here often BC so this is our first visit in about 4 years. Started with veggie dumpling and chow fun pork noodles. My wife loved the deep fried rice crackers. She ate the whole basket. We got another one. Service was friendly and prompt. The dumplings were delicious, clearly freshly made. We liked them a lot. The pork chow fun was unremarkable. It was a nice small meal on our adventures for the day. Nancy & Mark.

I must say, it had been about 4 years since my last visit and I regret not coming back more often. The food was absolutely dynamite! We ordered fried pork dumplings (best ones I've had in a very long time), Pad Thai (delish!!) and General's Chicken (all white meat chicken and fantastic composition of the sauce). If you're nervous about trying Duck Sauce, don't be. The mixed reviews were of slight concern but we loved it. Admittedly, the restaurant is a bit run down and tired and feels like it could use a good cleaning and update. The staff was kind and the food was fast, so that helped offset the feeling of the restaurant. Ordered/Consumed; Crispy Noodles Pad Thai Pan Seared Pork Dumplings General's Chicken w/ Brown Rice PS - The brown rice was REALLY good!!

Came in for a recent visit with family. We've been going here for about 10 years or more, but we realized the ownership has switched within the past few years. We were given an appetizer of crunchy fried noodles when we were seated, and the quality of these has definitely changed over time. They went from being fresh, crispy, and crunchy to very oily and lacking in flavor. The newer staff were still friendly, and our orders were taken promptly. I ordered, a 'Cold Sesame Noodle' with 'Steamed Vegetable Dumplings.' My family members had ordered 'Wok Seared Beef' that had been a past favorite of ours. Once all of the dishes were brought out, the portion size and quality of the beef had definitely gone down. My noodles were still the same and very enjoyable. The dumplings were decent, but they were nothing extraordinary. Overall, the experience was good, but disappointing to see the quality has gone down. Service was good. I'd still pay this place a visit when in the area for my sesame noodle dish, which is very enjoyable.

I guess it means something that it took four years for a return visit to Duck Sauce, despite the fact that it is the closest restaurant to my Newtown office, and I love Chinese food. The reasons are what you'd expect. It just isn't the exceptional Asian fusion it once was, and the competition in that niche has grown in the interim. It seems there has been a change in ownership, with the old kitchen creativity having lost its edge. While it remains better than average as a Chinese/American house, it really doesn't overtly compete in that space. Rather, it's claim to fame has always been that it is a different kind of Asian place - a fusion experience that suggests traditional dishes, but does them in a unique way to make their menu special. While the menu looks the same for the most part, the separation from standard offerings elsewhere is now less distinct; the distance between Duck Sauce and the average Chinois, smaller. The Wonton Soup is still very good, but the wonton skin a bit thicker. The Calamari appetizer had a coarse breading that detracted from the softness and flavor of the tender crustacean beneath, while the dipping sauce was fine. The Orange Beef was soft rather than crispy, and the dark amber semi sweet sauce, thick and more gloopy than remembered. Yet, there were the potato sticks sprinkled on top, still a nice touch. The Shrimp and Cashew platter was very good, but not dissimilar to what you can find almost everywhere. I finished my lunch satisfied, but not in love with the meal, as I once was. It is still a good place for quality ingredients and presentations, but I left with no urge to return within the next four years. 3.5 STARS

This used to be one of our favorites but it has really slid downhill over the last few years, likely due to the large number of restaurants that moved into the shopping center north taking all of their market. Decor is run down, service was odd, and the food was unremarkable. Highlight ... the food came out faster than any food at a sit down restaurant I have been to, it was almost concerning, like how? Sadly... typical take out is better.

My family has gone to Duck Sauce for years. We used to go on Christmas Eve and my two daughters and I would order vegetarian entrees and my husband would order a mixed seafood entree. As the years went by the food quality did not keep up, but we still had fond memories. On Mothers Day my adult daughters surprised me by coming in from Delaware and Philadelphia. We ordered take-out (almost $100) and ... were very disappointed. The Vegetable Pad Thai did not have the correct sauce on it and did not, in any way, resemble Pad Thai. Our tofu and seitan entrees were so gloppy and pasty that it was like lead in our stomach. My husband said that his seafood platter was "very bland". Such a disappointment. And we had to pay for it. : (

The food was really good. I fell in love with the sushi. I believe I ordered the "Absolute." It had shrimp and crab and almost melted in my mouth. Definitely need to stop by again...

Our initial reaction was that the dishes were very Americanized, but after a few more bites, we're thinking the dishes were just very bland. I can see these dishes appealing to a certain crowd, but if you're looking for more flavor in your food, I recommend going elsewhere. Appetizers were decent, the portions were generous, and the service was friendly (albeit a bit overpriced)

We ate in this establishment tonight with another couple.the worst dinning Experience I have ever had.my wife and I got our meal served to us 10 minutes after the couple who we were eating dinner with. We could not get a waitress for anything.we had to go to the hostess to ask for our meal to be delivered. We had to go to the hostess to pay our check because the waitress never came back to our table Never again

I went to Duck Sauce about 10 years ago and did not care for it then. We were used to the Gourmet Chinese food at another restaurant in Newtown, which of course has changed hands and is no longer Gourmet. We decided to do take-out a couple of nights ago and never again! We ordered simple recipes...Chicken Rice Soup, Chicken & Broccoli and Sesame Chicken. The soup was terrible, broth had no taste and the LARGE pieces of chicken in it were an afterthought. The Chicken & Broccoli had no taste and again the sizes of the chicken were so large, as if they couldn't take the time to cut it up. No taste. The Sesame chicken looked like Orange Chicken and you could count the sesame seed on one hand. Again, VERY large pieces of chicken....too big. Nothing had any taste. I think mall Chinese food would be better. Sorry, we won't be going back or ordering take-out. Cannot recommend.

Heard about this place from another mom who went to sesame place. It's a nice restaurant on the most popping street in Newtown. We really enjoyed our food there. The scallion pancake was banging! The waiter and owner were super nice and accommodating. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

Alright, so, let me start off by saying that I've grown up in and around Flushing, NY, almost all of my life. I've had all sorts of Asian dishes, both traditional and Americanized, so maybe I'm not the demographic that Duck Sauce had in mind when they put their menu together. With that said, let me now tell you what happened when I discovered this little Chinese food joint. I came across Duck Sauce when I was looking around at the map to check out some of the local eats (I'm semi-new to the area). I instantly saw that they have "dan dan noodle" on the menu, and I was EXCITED. To say I love dan dan mein is an understatement. I've grown up on the mouth-numbing stuff, and it's cured countless hangovers for me, over the years. I haven't found any place around here that makes it (well, at least), so I was super happy to see it again. First, let me say that I was a little confused about the description of the noodles, on the menu: "Cucumber, bean sprout, scallion, garlic soy on egg noodle" with the options of chicken, pork, veggies or tofu. "Okay, so I guess they top their noodles with a little bit of fresh veggies," I thought, "and they let people choose their own protein, too." Cool, that's fine. Options are usually good, right? I called in my order and I was told that my food would be ready in 10 minutes. Awesome! I walked over there to get some exercise, and excitedly hurried back to dig in. Finally, I took out the nice, hot container of noodles and just.. laughed. Listen. LISTEN. If you don't know what something is, why on earth is it on your menu? I'm going to post a side-by-side of what dan dan mein ACTUALLY is, and what they sent me off with. If, for some reason, you can't see the picture, let me describe the situation to you. It's like.. if someone who has never tasted, seen, or even heard of a hamburger is told to make one, and they come back to you with a ham sandwich. It's like they kind of got an understanding of what it's supposed to be, but really had no idea and also the wrong ingredients, and also didn't care AT ALL whether it was right or not. Wrong noodles, wrong sauce, wrong everything. I'll spare you every little detail, but I'll just say that I was VERY hungry and still couldn't eat more than a few bites of what I'm guessing someone's 4-year-old put together in the kitchen. I left two stars for the fact that the food was ready quickly and that it was hot (and edible, to the extent that just about any noodle + sauce + protein would really not be the worst thing on earth to eat). Other than that, I'll just stick to satisfying my cravings when we're back in NYC.

This is one of my favorite Chinese places ever! I have been coming here with my family since I was a kid in the area, and it never disappoints. It is a higher-end place with pricier dishes, but it's totally worth it. The food is well-prepared, presented nicely, and the staff is very quick and efficient. They do have some outdoor seating available during the current COVID rules, and it's a nice area if the weather is good outside. Their General Tso's chicken is the best I've had - I'd recommend the Wok-seared beef too.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Taste is amazing. However, it seems like take out portion sizes have gone down the last year, which is disappointing and the menu is on the pricier end. I do also wish that more white rice was served with the entrees, rather than the one small tub for multiple entree orders.

Geez- this pains me. I've actually never written a review before. Duck Sauce- I've been coming to your restaurant and ordering from your restaurant for more than 25 years. The last few times I've taken the order on line option, it's been awful terrible experience. Every last online order I've ever made gets activated. I have to call and square things up to make sure I'm not getting charged multiple times The whole point of on line ordering is the ease of it. Each and every order has been well over 100$. I tried again today to order online and saw that every other order I placed also got ordered. I called right away and was immediately put on hold as they were clearly busy. I ended up canceling the entire order due to them just being too busy to not pay attention ‍. Perhaps you are better dining in?

Had takeout twice now and very pleased both times. Proteins in all cases were good quality (i.e. not mystery meat) and fried entree were lightly battered. This is my go-to takeout Chinese in Newtown.

Duck Sauce used to be the best Asian restaurant in town but in the post pandemic world has taken a downward decline. For a recent dinner take out order, I arrived 45 minutes after my order was placed as instructed only to wait another 45 minutes in a crowded waiting area. The seats they provide are pictured and need to be replaced. For another lunch takeout order, I waited again over 20 minutes after arrival even though the restaurant was empty. Like most restaurants, the pandemic hit this business hard and the rise in inflation and food costs has been no friend but poor customer service, decreased portions combined with increased price and an unkept restaurant is no remedy. I'm afraid it's time to look for another place to dine.

Dinner here with friends last night. Very nice menu, lots of different dishes. Every dish was fantastic and beautifully presented! Top notch service. Cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend.

Wok Seared Beef is my go to. It was too sweet this time tho. IDK if I'll return. Been a customer for years.

Ordered online and when I went to pick up my order it was $16 more than my confirmed price. I was told it was because I put a note for pork fried rice instead of white rice on both entrees. There was no option for this when placing my order, but typically, that would be a $1-$3 up charge. Instead, they added a large order of pork fried rice to my order without telling me. $16 extra for them tonight, but we will never eat there again. Avoid this bait and switch restaurant.

first thing i hate about this place is the food was uncooked! it was raw. and no i didnt order sushi i prefers meat what was supposed to be COOKED. the rice was cold. rats were running around everywhere..! the service was fine so that gives an extra star. the place smelled musty and like roaches. and alonso there was a FLY. in my food. distgusting. never again..!!!!!!

Their food is really good, I came here many times even though it was expensive, the food portion is really big. The service was great, the ambiance is also awesome. Definitely recommended for visit.

Ohh what can I say. This place was my go to for Chinese, even to the point that I would purposely plan a route in order to pick up their Gen Tso chicken dish. Alas, tis no more the fact. Apparently, ownership changed a year or two ago and with them the secret sauce disappeared. I had lunch today and ordered my goto GenTso dish and I might as well have ordered chicken wings from Lee's Hoagies as they tasted like that through en through. Even the wonton egg drop soup was lacking and needed attention to the wonton mix. Not sure if I'll go back now, hope the original owner opens someplace close.

Got takeout tonight for the last time. To start, our order (along with 4 other people waiting) was 30 minutes later than the estimated pickup time. Ordered steamed pork dumplings, which were good until some piece of bone or tendon from the meat nearly cracked my molar. Also ordered 2 spicy raw rolls- neither of which were spicy. So disappointing. Then we ordered 2 entrees which supposedly were to come with fried rice- you guessed it- both were MIA. Not to mention the pad thai was NOT pad thai... I actually have no idea what they thought that dish was but just save yourself and go to Oishi where they actually know what they're doing and do it efficiently. Lastly the wonton egg drop soup... nothing about it tasted like it was cooked. Rubbery and slimy. I'm not sure how duck sauce is still in business..

Walk into this place and you'll find a dark desolate land, which resembles my overall experience. Food 2/5 Complete disappointment. I had high hopes because I've heard good things all around so I figured I couldn't go wrong with Duck Sauce. My mistake. We ordered two "Dan Dan Noodles" and a General Tso chicken, thinking maybe they have a better technique than your average take out place. My mistake again. The GT Chicken was dry and chewy, it almost felt like I was eating old chicken or something. But what really sucked was the Dan Dan noodle, I expected a profound sauce with chewy delicious noodle. It looked like noodles with mystery sauce, almost like a questionable meal in a Chinese highschool's cafeteria. Service 2/5 The only thing dryer than my General Tso Chicken was my server's personality. That's about all I can say on the matter. Ambience 3/5 It's dark and gloomy. It's not over the top or exceptional nor is it dirty. Maybe I'm biased because the food portion of this review is creeping in. But it scores average for me. Over all, disappointed in my experience. If you're charging high, I expect high quality. But I've had mystery meat at low key Chinese places that was better.

Since new ownership this place is unfortunately not worth your time. Quality and Recipes have gone down hill. If they return to the previous owners recipes we would give this place a shot otherwise they should change the name at the very least...its nothing like the old duck sauce...sniffle

this is the healthiest chinese food i have ever eaten....always consistantly good...service is also fast...
