"Duckhorn in St. Helena is a good middle ground between the powerhouse wineries and the smaller tasting rooms in Napa Valley. It looks like an East Coast vacation home - or a place a head of state may have traveled to with his Scottish terriers in the 1920s - and has a sunny tasting room and gardens. This place specializes in red blends, and for wine tastings they pour Duckhorn, instead of the cheaper bottles of Decoy you see everywhere.
