Duda Diner - Review - Nunhead - London - The Infatuation

"Following pop-ups, collabs, and supper clubs, Duda Diner finally has their own Nunhead restaurant. Expect solok lada mackerel, durian fermented oysters, and the Duda burger." - Sinéad Cranna

The perfect diner to have more than a taste of home. The menu is precise and yet no two dishes overlaps. The level of spices was just right. The tingles of home, the yearn of a warm hug and the desires of leaving home for a better life. The feeling of so near yet so far encapsulates in each and every plate carefully currated. Go as a group, order everything, have lots of fun. Yap (speak) loudly with friends old and new like it was just yesterday yet as if you've known each other for years. Familiarities over formalities. Heart and soul.

In love with this spot! The decor is classy but still casual and inviting, I loved the vinyls behind the bar and the wood panelling. The staff were lovely and super helpful, and the service quick. The food and drinks were delicious, cockles on toast, crispy potatoes and pandan basque cheesecake were my highlights! And the music was really cool, very well curated, fun but not obvious. All round great evening!

Authentic and comforting malay food. A diverse and interesting menu, nice level of spice. We had 5 dishes, would order all again and be back soon to try the rest of the menu

I’ve been a fan of Duda during their street food day, the day has finally arrived where they have permeant space. Well deserved and super exciting. The family style dining experience is perfect for me, I feel food tastes better when they shared. Going with a small group of friends there is perfect. The anchovies butter with the deep fried toast… out of this world. The sweetness of the pandan basque cheese cake to end the night hits incredibly.

Dopest, loveliest, freshness you could dine for . Love so whole heartedly the chef and his spicy durian oysters from galway. I wish I was living in south london just to have the prospect of eating at duda every night and coffee every morn . Anyway if your local and or looking for the good spot. Look no further . Turn no more corners . Its a bit small . But I prefer intimate small party connection . ;) so don't make a big thing though they the staff and chefs are always ready for the big groups never the less. Alright enjoy. Nom nom nom

Stumbled across this place on Friday night. I've been to about 30 of London's Malaysian restaurants and this is up there. The standout was the cockle toast - their take on prawn toast. Very fresh ingredients, delicious flavour, great wine list, lovely staff. Will be back again.

Been following Duda Diner all throughout their popup days and to see them w their own space is really amazing. Hakeem and his chefs are a great team and would always recommend Duda Diner for those who are keen on eating Malaysian food in London.
