Due' Cucina Italian restaurant - Lakewood

Fist thing to known: It is a smaller place and I do not recommend it for larger parties. I was in a party of 7, and although not very busy for a Thursday evening, we had to stand around and wait about 30min for seating that would accommodate us. On to the food: The pasta is made fresh and you can build your own plate with any pasta, protein, and sauce pairing. We tried a variety of dishes and although they were not bad, they just left more to be desired. The desert was the star of the night, the tiramisu and conoli were delicious!!

My favorite restaurant! The chicken enchiladas have meat so tender that it melts in your mouth. The salsa is not too spicy and has a lovely hint of cilantro. The chips are made fresh daily but are on the thick side, but great flavor and level of saltiness is just right. It's family owned and operated. Please check it out, it's a great little place!

I absolutely do not regret coming to this place at all. I wanted fresh made pasta and they delivered! Our server Christina (sorry if I misspelled) was amazing and was very clear and thorough when helping us through our first time. I got the Cacio de Pepe and my wife got the lasagna and both were delicious! The noodles were truly al dente and I loved the portion size, not too big but definitely not too small. My one and only complaint was my cacio de Pepe was a little salty but that seems to be more of my preference because my wife tasted and loved it so take my words with a grain of salt (pun intended). I really did love my birthday experience here and we will be sure to come back in the near future to try some different options!

This place is amazing. So difficult to find the BEST quality of real Italian pasta in Dallas. We order the spaghetti bolognese and the fussilloni with mushroom & white truffle oil. Dante took care of us and was really special with us. Greatest service in the area.

Our server was Christina and she was so friendly and helpful! Their handmade pasta is honestly the best I’ve probably ever had and it’s affordable and such a cute space. Ended the night with a cannoli and it was so good too! Highly recommend!

This place is great! They make the pastas in house. You get to pick your pasta, sauce, and any extra toppings. There are also some entrees, starters, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Love the idea that you get to create your own. The pasta was quite good, and the team there does a fantastic job explaining the pastas and sauces and will provide recommendations. The focaccia was quite good. Perfect for soaking up some sauce. They have some cocktails and a nice and very reasonably priced wine list. It’s perfect for a casual and delicious Italian dinner. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

What a gem! We were on our way to dine at another nearby restaurant when we spotted this joint & decided to be nosey & pop in. So glad we did! Yes, you need to order\refill at the counter, & you need to clean up after yourself. These are not inconveniences, these small steps help to keep prices affordable. The manager, Ross, was friendly, gave us a quick menu tour. We had a glass of wine & ordered their fried rice balls while we perused the menu. Pours are generous & prices are delightful. Only 10 minutes in the place & we were already texting our friends about our new find. We are not meat eaters, so we were happy to see so many options for us. After enjoying a full glass of wine we finally settled on the pesto spaghetti & pomodoro with casarecce, & focaccia with another glass. What a treat for the taste buds! The pomodoro was not drowning in sauce, as it tends to be at other places. Tho I wish it had more spinach (personal want, not necessary). The pesto had incredible flavor. Not too many restaurants offer fresh noodles. Which was an added bonus of not catching a food coma as the dishes were cooked perfectly al dente. The focaccia needs to come in a queen bed size. So pillowy soft I could have slept on it. The taste was top shelf! The restaurant is perfectly situated on the route we run our errands makes it a perfect place to pop in to grab a bite prior to adulting. Yup, this is going to be a frequent stop.

Due' Cucina is a small Italian restaurant that makes their pasta fresh right infront of you. It's very simple to do, you pick you noodle, sauce, and toppings so the food items are very customizable. We ordered the Short Rib Pasta, mushroom and chicken meatball spaghetti, and a upscale version of Mac and Cheese for our children. All of which were amazing. I recommend this place and we will definitely come back.

Due' Concina delivers good Italian food the way it's meant to be experienced. It's simple, thoughtful, and satisfying. The focus on fresh pasta is immediately clear. The texture of the al dente pasta, the flavor, everything is handmade, and intentional. Super yummy! The pasta itself is the star. Tender yet structured, it holds sauce beautifully without being heavy. You can taste the freshness in every bite, especially in dishes where the ingredients are kept minimal. Instead of overwhelming the plate, the sauces complement the pasta. Rich where needed, light where appropriate, and surprisingly balanced. What stands out most is the respect for ingredients. Nothing feels rushed or overworked. Each dish reflects a quiet confidence, relying on quality rather than excess. It's the kind of food that doesn't try to impress loudly, but wins you over through comfort and care. By the way they will be opening a restaurant in McKinney in the near future! This place is spectacular! I stopped in after a workout because I kept hearing people rave about it and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The service was fantastic, and I even had a fun conversation with the cashier who shares my name. Christina is so sweet! She recommended the white truffle mushroom pasta and helped me choose the pasta type - the creste de grillo and wow...life-changing is not an exaggeration. The food was incredible, the prices are very reasonable (I mean, averaging $14 for a pasta dish) and I was genuinely surprised by how quickly my order came out. I'll definitely be back and see this place quickly coming a neighborhood favorite.

This place slaps. We came here after the gym after finding it on Seed Oil Scout. The decor is pretty cool. The ordering process wasn't something I'm used to. We ordered like half the menu and everything that came out was awesome. You can tell it's super clean. Would come here again for sure.

I was visiting Dallas with family in January and was staying with my brother/sister in law. I decided to get a rental car and drive around to find places on my own. I came across this create your own pasta type restaurant! I talked to a very sweet female employee there behind the bar/counter who explained how to order. Basically you choose your pasta type and sauce to create your own pasta dish! I chose the short rib ragu with bucatini pasta which was delicious! I wish I would've went back before I flew back to Atlanta for more! I would definitely recommend if you're in the area and enjoy Italian food!

Saw an add on instagram about the buy one get one free bolognese, so I decided to walk in. This location is so cute, and very welcoming. I decided to go a different route and ordered the short rib pasta. It was good, I think as a preference I would've preferred more sauce for the dish, perhaps that can be added. I also like that you can pick your own pasta for the sauce so perhaps I made the wrong selection. Nonetheless, love this place!

The food and service is great at Due's Cucina. The dining room is on the smaller side so get takeout or arrive early. Very athletic Italian food. Nice size portions at a decent price. The bread is great too. Order extra.

First timer here, and it was great! I had the lasagna Bolognese... Amazing! It was the best. You can see the cooks preparing meals as ordered. The lady at the counter was very polite and nice, she helped us order. The surroundings were comfortable, and they have a few wines to choose from. I'm a beer drinker, so I had a Peroni Italian beer. It was pretty good. All in all, we had a great time. I highly recommend eating here.

I've been on the quest for some really good Italian food in the Lakewood/East Dallas area for a long time! We have plenty of fancy options, but none that are really casual with high-quality homemade Italian pasta. We had just arrived back from a summer trip in Italy and my mother was in town visiting. She was super eager to try some ravioli and I had no idea where to take her. She's not a fancy dining type. We ended up finding the spot on yelp and it could not have worked out better. She was very complementary of the food and we had a great time. It is not a five star restaurant, but it is great. You order your food at the counter and they will walk you through the process. Once your food is ready, you grab your silverware and you get to your table. I ended up getting some meatballs for myself and I got my daughter something from the kids menu. My mom got the raviolis. She wanted as well. Everything turned out delicious and tasty. The portion sizes are spot on and not too big or too small. We will definitely be back!

A really neat concept restaurant with build your own pasta. You pick your pasta type, the sauce, and can add a number of other things including protein. Everything is made from scratch, and it was quite tasty. The chef was super friendly and answered all of our questions. They have wine, beer, Negroni, and Apperal spritz. Technically not a full bar.

It's a chain. I was pleasantly surprised... Prices are actually decent for italian. Fast casual... order at a tablet, they call your number / name and you grab it at the front. Pour your own water. Bus your table. It came out pretty fast. There's not a lot of seating but enough. Doesn't seem like a place you linger at though. I like that you can customize pasta shapes. Got the lasagna ($15) - basically the most expensive thing on the menu.. but it looked small compared to the pasta bowls (mainly $14). I still got full, but wish I had more like the pasta... I liked it. I think I would recommend to other people though.

Great location in Lakewood! Clean restaurant with plenty of seating for a quick casual meal. Sadly they were out of a few things while we were there - one of them being apple juice for the baby which felt silly, the other the popular short rib. The kids pasta was like $14 which for a 11 month old is crazy. I'd be happy to get 1/4 of the pasta for a lower price. It was the same size at the adult so I guess it's a good thing it lasted us several meals at home. I had the Bolognese and it was delicious. Side salad had a bit too much dressing for me - will ask for that on the side next time! Staff was very kind and welcoming.

It was an awkward experience. You have to order from a tablet, which can be challenging to some. The application is not very intuitive. The drink selection was pretty limited. The food tasted okay, but for the price and hassle of ordering it's not worth it in my opinion.

WHAT I ORDERED: Carbonara with bucatini pasta, Bolognese Ragu with campenelle pasta, added ghost chili oil that comes on the side, Arancini PARKING: Shared parking lot INSIDE: Fun framed pictures and quotes decorates the walls and there are two self ordering kiosks but you can also order with the staff. There's a tray of pasta next to the kiosks so you can see what the different shapes look like which is a nice touch. The staff are friendly and offered to answer any questions. The dining area is a mix of a couple booths and low/high tables in side. Patio seating outside is also available. THE FOODS/DRINKS: The carbonara was a bit bland so I preferred the bolognese ragu. The arancini comes in one piece per order and was stuffed with filling which looked good as you open it but seemed to be missing some flavor. The ghost chili oil was not spicy at all and was disappointed with that. I did appreciate the extra parmesan so you can add as much to the dish as you'd like. While the dishes were more on the bland side, the pasta was fresh and perfectly al dente. I would suggest ordering a side salad to help balance out the heaviness of the dishes.

Spaghetti bolognese with side of the pork sausage link sliced, side salad, other entree was cacia y Pepe with new corkscrew looking pasta and added the pork cheek meat--delish! 5 oz red wine and a sparkling beverage and two ate like fine dining with a fast casual feel. Where else can you get homemade pasta and meats made in house!? Yum!!

Been wanting to try this new to Dallas Italian restaurant and today was my son's 43rd birthday so we offered to treat for dinner. My husband is from Rome so we are super picky about Italian dishes and this place did not disappoint! My son ordered his pasta with bolognese sauce and a poached egg. Hubs had the cacio e pepe and my go to so that I know if it's authentic is to order the carbonara. We all tasted each others plates and they were all' magnifico! Started off with arancini and a burrata appetizer and some grilled bread. Everything we tasted was amazing and my hubs is super happy that he has found an authentic and reasonably priced Italian pasta place. We live in Arlington and we will make that drive again. Definitely worth it. Tutto era delizioso!!! Grazie, ci vediamo la prossima volta!

really cute pasta restaurant opened in Lakewood. I ordered the bolognese and thought the pasta itself was very good. It's a little hard to order on the website with uncommon pasta shapes, I had to google each of them myself, but in store they show you the shapes. I also thought the sauce could have more flavor, but it was still very good. For the price point, I think charging for the small pieces of sourdough is a little outrageous, would've appreciated getting one piece with each bowl for free or at least a simple $1. Good amount of pasta in each meal, cute patio and interior.

I love the concept here - it reminds me of the lunch spots I used to go to in Manhattan for work where you get to make your own pasta by picking the noodle, sauce, and any additional toppings. Lowkey, quick, affordable. I ordered the bolognese here, and the pasta itself was perfectly cooked and al dente, but the sauce is more oil than tomato, so it was just way too oily for my taste. If there was more meat and more tomato, it might have been really delicious! Maybe the other sauces are better - I would be willing to go back and try something else next time!

I absolutely love this concept of a build your own pasta bar. Been here twice already and it's becoming my new favorite affordable pasta spot. The food comes out quickly and is always piping hot. Their pasta has the perfect texture and each dish has been seasoned perfectly. I've dined in and ordered take-out and both times the food has been consistently delicious! I like that they even have a protein pasta option. Seemingly casual spot with high quality food!

Pasta reminded me of the pasta in Tuscany, and was delicious. Service is not so great, and ambiance is just ok. Fast casual place so you are in and out. I hope they make it since it's the only one in TX.

Had the short rib red sauce with spiral pasta; it was delicious! Pasta was super fresh; sauce was flavorful but not overwhelming. Delicious plate at a good price. The service was excellent; I felt valued as a customer. Will come again.

We were headed into Liberty Burger when we saw the cucina's sign so we popped in to peek, of course. A good two hours later, we left what is a new favorite spot. Full disclosure, my personal preference is most often for dried pasta, but that's just depending. The house-made fresh pasta is great, and I'm already wrestling with what I'll order when we return. Really great menu and really great food. Staff was super attentive. For such a casual place, stemware and glassware were a nice feature and we enjoyed dining leisurely.

This place has a delicious Mushroom & White Truffle Oil pasta. It is to die for! I ordered once on a whim and then ordered it again the same week!

I ordered delivery directly from them, and they outsourced it to door dash. The dasher didn't get my address and had to call me. If I were going to order again I'd certainly do it directly with door dash. The website and logistics were a big pain. The food was not very good. I won't order from here again. Just call piggie pies.

We ordered online for delivery and about half of our order was missing, so we called and drove to pick up the rest. Not the end of the world but not super awesome. The food is good, really liked the pasta, and I'd be willing to give it another shot, just make sure you double check your delivery order!

The fresh pasta is cooked well and all of the sauces were good! It's a very casual vibe but the wine prices make it an easy choice for dinner!

We went in early January and it was so good ! Fresh pasta in a "fast casual" atmosphere with clean spaces . We ordered several pastas to share as a family . My son's favorite was the Short Ribs Ragu because it was delicious but ALSO because he had fun eating the super long pasta!!!! My husband's and my favorite was the Mushroom & White Truffle oil pasta. We also ordered the ravioli and another pasta which I'm not sure what it was called (husband ordered at the order station). Everything was good. The prices are great for fresh pasta - but, you buss your own tables which is totally fine by us (but some people may not like that)... The wine we ordered was also delicious. The cherry on top was Liam who walked us through the menu, gave suggestions, gave us some background on the concept.

If your craving pasta n good tiamisu .. then this is a good place to be .. everything from scratch .. there pasta was very good quality and waitstaff is very nice .. definitely a nice place to go if your craving italian .

Hello, gentle readers. I address you this evening from my toilet, where I will be spending the foreseeable future. I don't want to write this, but feel I must, for the restaurant does not state this anywhere nor does it reliably inform customers when they order: DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE GLUTEN FREE. Hard stop. Their menu says "may have cross contamination" - my toilet bowl says the MAY part is a lie .... and so does their staff. (Anyone who is GF is well aware of any risk they take when they eat out, and this type of boiler plate language is standard at pretty much every place you eat) They cook their gluten free pasta IN THE SAME WATER they use to cook their regular gluten pasta. They make their gluten free pasta in the same pasta machines WITHOUT ANY TYPE OR DEEP CLEANING OR STERILIZATION first. Their staff told me this TO MY FACE like it was not absolutely insane. I was informed of this AFTER I had eaten 2/3 of a bowl of their "gluten free" pasta and found a gluten-containing shaped pasta at the bottom of the bowl. I went inside to inform the staff (this was actually the second time it happened - my first bowl of pasta was taken back when the clearly gluten shaped pasta was on the top of my bowl) and talk nicely about safe allergen practices. The chef I talked to was fantastic and understood my concerns. She saw that it as an issue, took down my number, and gave me a refund. The dude at the order stand? Argumentative and acted like I was an idiot for not knowing something that says GLUTEN FREE is not, indeed, even gluten-free-ish. Zero apology for not informing me when I ordered (I would have left!!! And not gotten sick!!!) or the fact that their website AND menu in the store are extremely misleading. Using Gluten - Free when you do not practice any gluten-free-safe practices is the most insane thing I've seen in 15 years of being gluten free. My bad for not asking, I guess, but when the first bowl came out the person who brought it out was like omg I'm so sorry I'll have them remake it so that, along with their literal touting of serving gluten free food gave me a clearly false sense of safety. Honestly it's 2024 and people know what gluten free means, and them using Gluten Free widely and liberally and using it as a selling feature while ignoring the reality that it isn't gluten free is probably a legal liability - any lawyers reading? Call me. I wouldn't trust a single allergen they label. They don't take literally the most basic allergen care of cooking in a separate pot for gluten free pasta and they surely aren't taking it for anything else.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new place close to home. The food pasta was very tasty but the salad could definitely use more work. I didn't reliaze it was a more fast casual place with no table side service but I honestly didn't mind it. The vibes were really chill but also cozy and it seems like a great place for a low-key date or for a family dinner. I will definitely be back with friends.

**Scroll to the bottom for my dish recommendations** I cannot express enough my love for this restaurant, the workers, and the remarkable flavor of the food. It's unbelievable that this concept (undeniably clean and fresh Italian food) has taken THIS LONG to arrive on our shores. Yes we have Eataly, and we have the $30+ per dish fine dining restaurants, but this brings REAL ITALIAN quality to the everyday person. How have we not done this sooner? As a child, I'd visit family in Napoli. Coming home, I was shocked at the difference in quality of our food. Yes, it's the food system in the United States, but it's also restaurants cutting corners because, frankly, they have to. Due' Cucina doesn't cut corners. When they first opened, I had already read about the owners' story and the restaurant concept. I was hooked. Only 3 minutes away from my house, I dined myself and told everyone I knew about this restaurant. Here's why: it's clean (almost all EVOO), it's fresh (the best quality ingredients they can find), and it's undeniably authentic Italian - for a good price! Now that I live far, I'm stuck with the usual Americanized Italian food (additive- and preservative-heavy nonsense, it pains me to even say it's Italian). I told Davide, if he opens a restaurant up north, I'll do everything I can to keep customers flowing. There's nothing like Due' Cucina in this country, I can tell you that (don't tell me Piada, it's not even in the same league). Now onto my recommendations (yes, I've tried everything): - Short Rib Ragu - my favorite, hearty and full-bodied. Delicious. - Porchetta Sandwich - I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, and the pork belly on this bad boy is unreal. Amazing option if you want to get filled up. - Mushroom White Truffle - perfect vegetarian option, just the right creaminess and very flavorful mushrooms. - Cacie e Pepe - the embodiment of the simplicity yet sophistication of Italian cuisine. The quality of their 24-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano really shines. Some notes: - The Kale Pesto is very kale-y. If you're not a huge fan of kale, maybe steer clear. Although I have a friend who LOVES it (and she's gluten intolerant). - Do NOT get any red sauce dish without the Sourdough slice on the side. You'll miss out on the Italian experience, "fare la scarpetta" - you MUST use the bread to dip and scoop every last bit of that sauce at the end. Nothing goes to waste. - If you're looking at appetizers, the Suppli and the Burrata are absolute musts - You can't go wrong with the Cannoli or Tiramisu options

We have been meaning to go here, but we just hadn't It is fantastic. Exactly as advertised, ie fresh pasta and great traditional sauces. Welcoming and attentive staff As good as any Italian in Dallas, just with a casual atmosphere. Seems great for take-out too

Great little Italian spot! The pasta was very fresh and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Kid friendly. We will definitely return to try more of their selection.

We have had the eggplant parmigiana, the short rib ragu and the bolognese. All so very flavorful. Wish we had found this restaurant sooner. We have now been twice in 4 days and we will keep going! Affordable, quick, very tasty food. Love it!

I'm so pleased to have a spot like this in Lakewood. Can you get pasta at any Italian/pizza spot? Sure. But it'll likely be boxed pasta that's been overcooked. For a similar price, Due' Cucina whips up fresh-made pasta that's cooked correctly. I love that you can get a tasty, quality bowl pretty quickly and for a reasonable price. As far as fast-causal goes, this is a great addition to the neighborhood. The restaurant was squeaky clean, the staff was nice, and I look forward to sharing the experience with friends and family.

we just spent the week in Rome and got back and couldn't get pasta off our mind-- so we tried this place! This is the most authentic Italian pasta we've had in dallas. The review saying to go to Olive Garden is very telling that they don't know authentic pasta. Al dente is how it's supposed to be! Atmosphere is very casual-- which actually is refreshing too, since that's not common for Italian food.

Excellent Ordered to go and 4 of us shared 3 pastas and 1 lasagna. Everything was accurate and everyone loved tasting the various pasta orders. A great to go option and would definitely return for more! The dessert custard cake was ok not a huge fan of that.

Was so looking forward to trying this- but sooo disappointed. Pasta was undercooked- brought it to their attention- thought I would get an offer to remake it. Instead this guy felt the need to "school me" on what fresh pasta should be- hard. As if I've never had fresh pasta before- please! Took our meals to go so that I can finish cooking it at home. Lasagne and short rib ragu was decent...at best. Will not be on our restaurant rotation for certain.

Great pasta and a fun neighborhood vibe! My family sat at the tables outside. We knew everyone on the patio by the time dinner was over. The puttanesca and Bolognese sauces were both delish. Dessert with pine nuts on top was fun.
