Due Cuochi Cucina

"One restaurants owned by a Brazilian woman who is passionate about French and Italian cuisine. Here, the home-made stuffed pasta (both fresh and dried) is the star of the show for Due Cuochi Cucina’s large and loyal clientele. Its menus are updated every three or four months, with less popular dishes replaced by others with greater appeal, yet with the same attention to quality and variety. The egg yolk ravioloni in butter and sage, and flavoured with black truffle, is unmissable." - Michelin Inspector

Google
What a fantastic Italian restaurant! We loved the octopus and the pastas were delicious and fresh. The service was impeccable. We had great red wine too. The ambience is very romantic.

Wow! I was so happy to experience what this restaurant has to offer. The food is an explosion of tastes and perfectly crafted by the chef. I can't recommend enough! Go see for yourself what a good dinner is supposed to be.

Google
Ambience, service and flavor are all top notch here. Had the grilled mozzarella with pesto and tomatoes and the fresh fussili pasta callabrese and everything was delicious.

Google
Good menu of options and excellent service. Unfortunately I've had better Italian in São Paulo and compared to them this is just good. Please let me be clear, this mark isn't one to take as bad. I'll be back, it just that it is average.

Google
It is expensive ~ R$70 or more for a dish. Some dishes have really good flavors, such as the raviolis. The restaurant is cozy and the staff is super friendly and attentive. It might be worth for a special evening. No need for reservations if you get there early on a weekday.

Google
Amazing service, great wine selection and unreal food. One of the best Italian (if not the best) restaurants in São Paulo.

Google
The food was delicious. All tho I felt very rushed. I don't know if the communication barrier was the issue but when I got there it was very slow. About an hour into me sitting down it started to get busier so I don't know if they wanted me there taking up a table as I was there by myself. Otherwise it was pretty good.

Great ambient, the food, all fantastic. The medallion is a must! Service is good and they do not rush you. Great location.

Yelp
This place is my favorite pasta restaurant in São Paulo. The overall restaurant is intimate and romantic (they have now a new room but I suggest staying in the original space and next to the window if possible). All their food is really amazing and you just can't get it wrong but here are some of my faves: Starter: ravioloni with egg yolk, sage and black truffle sauce Main dish 1: black prawn and mango ravioli with curry sauce Main dish 2: risotto with filet mignon Buono apettito!

Yelp
The food here is excellent. I would venture to say that this was the best meal I've had in São Paulo. Everything about my experience here, from start to finish, was great. I came with two friends and we ordered two rounds of caipirinhas with cachaça. I asked for my drinks to be really sweet because I don't like the taste of strong liquor. The drinks were strong but tasted fruity, and delicious (and the alcohol was imperceptible, just as I wanted). Two drinks from this place is all you need to feel tipsy/borderline drunk. As a starter, I got the caprese (which comes with mozzarella cheese, tomato, and some pesto drizzled on top). I normally don't even like tomatoes, but this appetizer was so good that I left nothing on the plate (not even a single tomato seed). Then the entrees arrived and that's when things got really out of control (in a good way). What I really mean by "out of control" is that the food was so delectable that I considered ordering the same plate and taking it to go so that I could heat it up at work the next day. The lamb chops were juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection (medium-rare). It's pretty difficult to find medium-rare/bloody meat in Brazil. Long story short, please go to this restaurant if you're in São Paulo and you're tired of overly well-done meat. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Best Italian restaurant in the area for sure. Not so popular, so you won't wait that long. Everything is good, feel free to pick whatever you want. I love Italian food and this one as good as the bests restaurants in Italy. Price is fair. Service is amazing.

Yelp
After weeks of eyeing up this place on Yelp, we finally made it in on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Four of us (in-laws, husband, and myself) arrived around 2 - 3pm and saw quite a few people waiting to be seated. We were a little nervous, but the host assured us it would not be a long wait. He got us settled at the bar, suggested a few drinks, and said he'd check in with us later. We enjoyed a round of phenomenal caipirinhas. We had the bartender make with whatever fruit he wanted. I believe mine was with kumquat and ginger, and it was unreal. Instead of switching to wine later in the meal like I usually do, I just stuck with these drinks. Before we finished our first cocktail, the host returned to inform us that our table was ready. The menu was very impressive. I was a little overwhelmed because there were so many dishes that looked like they were a must try. We ordered quite a few appetizers for the table, and for an entree, I went with a gnocchi. Nothing beats a perfectly made gnocchi, and my dish here was simply phenomenal. We had a wonderful afternoon here. Great food, great service. I only wish I had gone back again before I left Sao Paulo.

Yelp
Who knew you could find such good Italian in the southern hemisphere? I checked this place out as it had good reviews and was walking distance from the hotel and I'm not fond of exploring in São Paulo. I tried the vodka penne with pancetta, argula and grana padano and it was stellar. Some of the best pasta I've ever had! The menu is huge so quite impressive the dishes are consistently good with such a large offering. It was also really to hard to decide on just one thing. Be mindful also that this place is a little pricey - cost for my low range pasts plus a Stella was 72 BRL before service charge. The service here was a bit slow but that might be because I was a gringo there by myself. I tried to find a waiter who spoke spanish to make the language barrier easier but no dice. Menu has English translations for every item so a bit odd that no one there is able to speak it. Regardless, I'm in a foreign country so I have no expectation for someone to know my language. While it might be a bit odd if you're not speaking portuguese, the food far outweighs this. Check it out if you find yourself in Itaim Bibi. I know I'll be back next time I'm there for work!

Yelp
This was a lovely place but absurdly expensive for Sao Paolo. One plate of pasta and a glass of wine came to $36 American dollars. It seems like a nice place for a lovely work dinner but not recommended for solo travel eating.

Yelp
Sometimes the old São Paulo rule that the most crowded places are the best pans out to be true. Due Cuocchi is almost always packed, and, despite being a bit over priced, this time I have to agree with the crowd that the pasta dishes are really good. The crowd here is skewed towards older upper class Paulistas. The place has been around for more than 10 years and is a family tradition for some groups. I have to admit that I prejudged this place thinking the menu would be boring. I was way wrong. I loved my shrimp and mango filled black ravioli so much that it was hard to share bites with the table. Luckily the portion size was plenty large. I preferred the ravioli to the risotto and meat dishes that others chose though they were tasty and well cooked. A hit among all was the appetizer sampler plate which although it was listed as a dish for two was easily shared between our group of four without anyone missing out on tasting any of the elements. We had the premade bellinis at the bar while we waited and were pleasantly surprised. I definitely recommend this place for a treat out with family or visitors.

Yelp
The only reason I give it four stars is because of the snooty service. I asked for a menu before we sat because we had to wait for 50 minutes and I was starving. So when I asked I said " do you have a menu please" in Portuguese and he laughed and said "yes of course we have a menu" stating the obvious but because Portuguese is my second language I said it the way I knew how but he responded like those punk ass teachers would if you asked can I go to the restrooms as opposed to May I go to the restroom. You know what I'm talking about, super annoying , just give me the menu. So I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable because he did it in front of everyone. Other than that the food wine everything was amazing as expected. This restaurant is always highly recommended, and rightfully so.

Yelp
An American here -- this is one of the best dining experiences I had in Sao Paulo. Fantastic pasta and wine. Intimate, if a bit busy / hectic atmosphere. A great place for a third or fourth date.

Yelp
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. My first night in Sao Paulo so I can't compare it to anything else here. But the staff went out of their way to communicate with me. I only speak English and I've quickly realized that doesn't get you very far in this city. But the menu is somewhat translated so English speakers shouldn't have any problem. I really enjoyed my pasta and a burrata appetizer.

Yelp
-----//---- I would like to share my "bad" experience in this restaurant, once staff try to make efficiency the table ocuppation following feedback from manage. I can say the food is really good but customer satisfaction was not good enough, this type of place should hire staff with better education, so once you try to find some place to happy fun I would suggest to avoid this place.

Yelp
The most amazing Italian in Sao Paulo. The service is spectacular, their answer to all your questions is: YES. The air was too cold, they turned off the air, we wanted to move tables 5 times, they did it with a smile. True Italian classic service. The food was amazing: we had Filet mignon and pasta...the best steak i have eaten in Brasil. We also had the burrata ravioli : perfection! The sommelier selected a great red wine and the dessert was the icing on the cake: the best panna cotta that i have ever tasted with coconut gelato that was to die for! Thank you Carlos!

Yelp
Best Italian restaurant in São Paulo, no doubt. The one in shopping Cidade Jardim has an spectacular city view. Make sure to try the pasta!

Yelp
Penne all a vodka was grossly overcooked and bland, couvert tasteless and the service horrific.

Yelp
A must-try in Itaim. I recall it being rather pricey though, so not sure how accurate those 2 dollar signs are.

Yelp
Great Italian spot in Sao Paulo. Enjoyed the carpaccio, burrata, shrimp pasta with a light tomato sauce and the lamb ragu bolognese. Definitely worth going to when in Sao Paulo and looking for a solid Italian meal.

Yelp
This was my second visit to this lovely, quaint Italian restaurant nestled in bustling Itaim. The host was gracious, and offered me a seat at the bar and a drink while I waited for a table, as I didn't have a reservation on a busy Saturday evening. He was patient with my English speaking, too, which is always appreciated! On my last visit, I had the "Raviolini egg yolk in butter, sage and black truffle sauce" as a starter -- OMG! So good. I then had the "Pennette with vodka, pancetta (bacon), arugula and slices of parmesan" which was also delicious, but I ran out of room quickly, as it was quite rich and filling. On this second visit, I ordered the "Ravioli stuffed with veal ragout and spinach, vegetable brunoise and mashed roast sauce" at the suggestion of the waiter. This was possibly THE BEST dish I have had in my life (and I have eaten a lot of italian food, in Italy.) The pasta was light and packed with flavor, and the broth was zesty and delicious... I wanted to lick my plate (luckily, I had some bread I could use to sop up every last bit.). I will definitely be back!!!
