They close at 3pm here, so of course, I always remember that I want to try some duffeyrolls right around 3:01. Needless to say, I never make it in and I am angry every time. One fateful day, I was in the city early and made it a point to roll on over and finally get in on these treats.
They actually serve real meals in there, so feel free to come in for some breakfast or lunch sammies before your rolls. The cafe is large, plenty of seating available inside.
Their glass case shows off some pretty fantastic hand-rolled duffeyrolls (basically cinnamon rolls, but I don't think I can really call them that). These rolls come in many flavors, many flavors, even savory ones. Their rolls come in two sizes: large and mini. I went with a variety of six large: two savory rolls (ham, Swiss, honey mustard and bacon, cheddar, and roasted tomato) and four sweet ones (Irish cream, pecan sticky bun, mountain maple, and zesty orange).
Their buns are flaky and soft and the sweet flavors are just the right amount of sweetness - nothing that makes you feel like like you're about to overdose on sugar and/or 5,000 calories like those other famous rolls slathered with 5lbs of icing. It's all about the roll here and I'm not mad at it. Their savory ones are flavorful too and perfect for breakfast.
Great rolls that are easy to eat and perfect to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. Definitely worth a try.
