A family member had severe abdominal pain so my sibling took them to the closest emergency room. Ending up waiting almost 2 hours just to get a room and when they were eventually seen, they asked for a translator. The first thing he said to the nurse when he walked in was "Could you make this quick, I have to leave." Then immediately tried to rush the conversation without getting the necessary information to help my loved one in need. Soon after I finally was able to arrive and was spoken to rudely but almost everyone here. Even after 5 hours here, no doctor has shown up to explain anything. My family members have now been here over 7 hours and counting and still no doctor, no results no nothing. I was beyond disappointed and aggravated with how we were treated and neglected. I would highly recommend that anyone considering coming here, to go anywhere else. I will not be returning to this hospital ever again and I recommend to everyone who's reading this to do the same. Worst hospital experience in my life.

Worse hospital ever! I really feel like I was discriminated against, had a same day procedure done only to go back two hours later. I left the hospital crying and in pain for the surgery I had. I will never go back, they acted so nonchalant about it and sent me home. Waited 7 hours to be seen to get a room, next thing, I’m not understanding how the Dr I had was so rude to my family member that came to see me calling her names. Lastly, the discharge nurse clearly didn’t look at my chart, asked me when is my babies first Dr appointment. Unbelievable and hurtful comment. I hope they do better than what they doing. Smh, well one more thing, the IV wasn’t even in my arm good it left bruises all on My arm.

I give Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC zero stars!!! Its a horrible ghetto place. Dont go there unless you want to get robbed. My daughter in law & son went to this hospital to give birth to twins in May 2025. A staff member stole her wallet during childbirth which had a good amount of money inside it. (She didnt make it to the bank because she went into labor). The hospital security came & took a statement & said they will get back with them the next day & they did not. We heard nothing back from security. So we asked the Charge Nurse to get Patient Services & Risk Management up there so we can alert them & they can investigate because we hadnt heard anything from security. The assured my daughter n law that they will investigate & get back with her in 30-60 days. Its been 60 days & we have heard nothing from anyone at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC. We called Hospital Administration & they said they would get in touch with the depts to see where they are with the investigation but hadnt heard anything from them either. We are going to reach out to News 2 investigates & see if they can help or hire a lawyer & sue the hospital.

Avoid this hospital in a real emergency. The charge nurse, Emily, showed zero urgency for a child with a possible ruptured appendix a life threatening condition requiring immediate surgery. This kind of neglect could cost lives. That alone should tell you if you value your health, bypass this place and head straight to REX.

Had a terrible fall and needed an xray of my knee since no urgent cares were available. They took me so quickly. Brittany night RN and Dr. Barmach were professional and great! Relieved my pain, got X-rays, bandage supplies and got me out of the ED within an 1.5 hours. Thank you!

I am very disappointed to see an employees in the hospital parking their cars on the handicap designated parking at the outpatient’s parking lot. I witnessed an elderly couple walking long distance to their car in the heat of the day because the handicap parking was full. i had to help them find their car. Later, i was waiting for my wife to finish her mammogram, i saw two of the employees getting in their cars(BMW and Audi) parked on the handicap designated parking at the outpatient’s parking and leaving. Very disappointed! I hope this is not happening often. Can’t accommodate your staff better than your patients.

Google
Decent Hospital, But Food Service Needs Improvement. Overall, the hospital is clean, and the doctors and most of the staff were kind and professional. However, my postpartum experience was affected by one particularly rude nurse, which was disappointing. The biggest issue was the food—ordering was a hassle, and the food service staff often ignored my choices, giving me whatever they wanted instead. The quality was also quite poor. My childbirth experience wasn’t great, but I can’t necessarily blame the hospital for that. If they could improve their food service and ensure all staff treat patients with respect, it would be a much better experience.

Google
Worst experience ever. I was dealing with pain that wouldn't allow me to walk much, sit or stand for long. I waited in the waiting h room for 4 hours just for the Dr to tell me I'll be ok with some rest. She was trying to discharge me without anything for the pain. The next day I went to duke university and they found out that I had a herniated disk that was pushing against my spinal cord and that I was going to become paralyzed if I left it untreated. I had to be admitted for emergency surgery on my spine the next day. Duke regional did not listen and missed something that could have paralyzed me just because they was too lazy to do their job. Every since my surgery I've been able to walk and go for hikes att thanks to duke university.

Yelp
This outpatient services Radiology team provided me exceptional service. At first not exactly knowing the correct area to be- a team member wheeled me to the area. From the young lady to the Technician- 5*service- kind - caring - professional service. Very much appreciated

Yelp
I was taken to the ER at this hospital and I tell you from the checking to the attentiveness of the ER staff and the care and they updated me on what was going from the ER doctors to the Nursing staff very professional although I was ill I felt I was in good hands The staff was great throughout the hospital. They did an excellent job on my open heart surgery in March 2025 and the care that I received was outstanding. Keep doing what youre doing. You all are the best in care.

Dubravka D.

Yelp
Went to the Duke Regional ER this past weekend and ended up spending a couple days in their Clinical Discharge Unit which is an offshoot of the ER. Can't say enough about the care I received from the nurses, aides, the radiology techs and transport. They were all so very kind - great bedside manner. They were quick to respond to questions and were clear in their explanations of any questions I had. They made what was a somewhat scary experience easier and I appreciate that so much!

Yelp
Had back surgery and have nothing bad to say about this hospital. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and knowledgable.Very good beside manners and seem to care about their patients. To all of the medical professionals on the 7th floor a special thank you. Even the food was great. Thanks to all.

Yelp
Asian doctor Mitchell's. Has no compassion for a person is in a nine or a 10 pain level. With 179 blood pressure due to the pain being so severe. Call for one pain pill and a toradol shot to a person that's going to be ready to have surgery in a couple weeks bone to bone. Had no compassion for a person in pain whatsoever no compassion for a person in pain whatsoever very unprofessional very uncaring I would be scared to ever come back there again if she's working.

Yelp
We are traveling to see family in NC. My hubby started complaining of pain throbbing, light sensitivity with other discomfort in left eye that he had cataract surgery on 7/8. We went to Duke Regional Hospital Emergency Department. The front desk clerk and triage nurse( From Trinidad) all were excellent. We waited for 20-30 minutes which wasn't bad. We were called an placed in and exam room. Dr. Todd A. Allen came in what a God Send. We thought he was an ophthalmologist the way he perform all eye exam, but was a well season ED physician. He has outstanding bedside manners. A very good lister. I pray he continues to serve everyone the way he help us. Thank you Dr. Todd!

Yelp
DukeRegional @DukeHealth cleanliness is not what it should be. Pictures from ER room and cafeteria. I am appalled. Guess your reputation is getting a little dirty

Karen M.

Yelp
My mom was cared for in the ER today and I'm thoroughly impressed with the team who provided her care due to its caring bedside manner, thorough explanations and gentle, patient care for my mom. James, Rylea and Dr Boyd are super stars at Duke Regional and I'm grateful you're here. Thank you!!

Jasmine H.

Yelp
My friend came in today with her brother , mom , step dad and other relatives because her brighter seemed to be laced . They weren't very helpful and told him to just sleep it off in the hospital without checking his blood for any kind of drugs . They took his pee and it sat there for 2 hours untouched . I've asked for water 3 times because they're on lockdown just couldn't leave and get it myself , it's been 2 hours and they still haven't brought that . Terrible attitudes .

Yelp
Shitty ass place I came to the emergency room 3:00pm and never got to see a doctor I stays to 10:00am

Ken M.

Yelp
The lack of compassion at entering was astonishing, the security made it feel so unwelcoming and wrong that it has definitely diminished the reason we came which was the birth of my first grandchild. First to have all waiting rooms closed and only 2 people to support the patients without mandating masks due to elevated respiratory viruses is nonsensical. Also it just felt like a power trip because the upstairs security and labor and delivery team is amazing and supportive, and doesn't understand why the downstairs security is being that way. Just totally frustrated, would have chosen a different Healthcare system if we would have known it would be like this.

Yelp
Understaffed and poorly organized would sum up my most recent experience here. It took 5 hours in an ER holding area to find out a doctor who specializes in what we needed would not be there until 8AM. They expected us to stay the night. When I said we would prefer not to stay all night we were referred to an outpatient walk in service. When I inquired with the service (clinic) we were referred to, the person answering the phone at said service made it clear they didn't take walk-ins and then forwarded me to the Doctor's voicemail to explain the situation and leave a call back number. It's been a week since my first message to that service and still no call back. Very poor referral on top of the entire experience.

Yelp
I can't speak for any other part of the hospital except for the Cardiology/Surgical team. If this is your first time coming to this hospital, give yourself ample time to arrive because construction Eno route around Durham is a mess. The main entrance is easy to find and drop off someone. There isn't a valet or parking service, you'll have to drive back down. However, Each time I've come here, I've never had any issues finding parking. Front the main entrance, registration is directly to your right. They were prompt and courteous. They didn't look confused like some places I've been to. They spoke kindly and showed us genuine concern. Someone from surgery came shortly after pickup and escorted us with a wheelchair. Right past the registration is a gift shop and a small coffee area that sells Starbucks coffee. They also have light snacks for purchase. Once in the back, they allowed me to stay in the small room where they start IVs during the whole time until the procedure was over. Which I appreciated because I didn't want to wait in the waiting room with sick people lol. And this room allowed me to have privacy and a place to store my things should I want to leave it and get coffee. Hope this info is a helpful!

Imani L.

Yelp
This place is horrible the doctors are walking around laughing people are waiting it's not even that crazy busy in the emergency room I overheard doctors going back and forth about coming in my room matter fact it wasn't even a room jus an area with curtains ... I sat up front watched people go to the frontndesk and complain that had minor problems and skip me mind you I've been waiting for hours jus to come to the back and not have any doctor even acknowledge me or anything very unprofessional and this is a hospital .. DUKE hospital all this money invested into Duke jus for it to be ran like a circus . Ridiculous!!!' Do better get people who gives a crap and not jus fooling around !!!!

Yelp
Patient care here is topnotch. Parking is easily accessible. Cafeteria has great healthy options and salad bar.

Jasmine E.

Yelp
this business is terrible and unprofessional. they only come in for the money and to take pictures in their uniforms

M C.

Yelp
I had been putting chemicals in my pool for the end of the season and ended up getting acid splashed in my eye. Though I took all the precautions noted on the internet, everything I read still said to seek medical attention. I went to the ER and they took me in immediately to triage and did all the eye testing to ensure that I hadn't done any damage to my eye. I was in and out in under an hour even though the waiting room had a good number of people waiting. I can't express how grateful I am that they took my incident seriously and took all precautions to ensure that I had not damaged my vision. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Still a great hospital. I was born here! I had a very good experience with the entire staff during my myomectomy procedure. The nurses and doctors were extremely kind and accomodating. My only suggestion would be to renovate the hospital so that the outside reflects the awesome service you receive inside.

Bruce W.

Yelp
I was at the hospital visiting my grandmother and the nurse Bryce smelled like marijuana and seemed quite unprofessional at times. I think she was on the 2300 floor and I over heard him talking about smoking with another female employee. This made me very uncomfortable hearing this.

Yelp
Recently I've been to duke reg. three times. Once for severe nausea and vomiting - I hadn't been able to keep food, fluids, or very important medications down for over a week. I got fluids, but was released still vomiting (with no treatment for keeping down my medication or food or fluids). Another was for a mast cell reaction requiring multiple epipens. I had a reaction to the epinephrine which caused the worst pain of my life... Worse than natural childbirth or gallstones (for which I revieved 3 doses if morphine for). Even after going through a patient advocate, they maintain that patients do not have the right to have pain managed- acute or chronic (tell that to the guy who gave me morphine) Lastly, I was hospitalized for depression issues and the psych dept was pretty terrible. There was nothing to do and you didn't have access to councelrs so people just wandered around. If you aren't depressed going in, you soon will be. They'll probably flag my record for this, but they are broken and have forgotten the hypocratic oath. If I was dying I wouldn't trust them to save my life. I won't go back.

Yelp
February 22, 2021, was the first and only time I stayed overnight, at Duke Regional. I was there for a shoulder reconstruction, although I had several surgeries at the main hospital, previously. I was overwhelmed with Duke Regional professionalism and the structure of their staff, especially when an unexpected problem occurred. Although it wasn't planned for me to stay overnight, they admitted me without hesitation, because of a complication. Everything scheduled that day was either early or on time. When I arrived in my room, I remember this, cute, little nurse introducing herself as Vanessa, and reassuring me that she would take good care of me. Of course, I knew, that I was a complicated patient, so I observed her reaction when reviewed my long medication list. As she was asking me questions about them, she noticed an impediment with her monitor, she then told me that she'll be right back with some help fixing it, which she did. Minutes later, something else happened to the monitor. Again, she wasted no time getting help resolving this problem. My perception of her, at that point, was that she knew it was a time-sensitive situation, by my needing of my meds asap, and she reacted accordingly, fast. Fortunately, there weren't any more coincidences, although she kept reassuring me that everything's gonna be alright. Even though medical staff members seldom receive the recognition they are deserving of, I'm, particularly, giving Vanessa Hayes, hers because she kept her professional promise, by taking great care of me. Thank you, sincerely, Bickett Fort.

Yelp
We could not have been happier with our experience in labor and delivery. Despite a long and painful personal experience, bringing my daughter into the world, the team who helped us included nurses Carolyn, Bridget and Debbie, Dr. Bird, Dr. Heath, Dr. Jarvis (all labor/delivery), Kelsey, Danielle, Holland, Brittany, Kristy, and Clare (all postpartum recovery nurses). They took very good care of us and prioritized both the health and wellness of mom and baby along with our birth plan, really respecting our wishes and giving us time to make informed decisions in the moment. Overall, from start to finish everyone was absolutely wonderful and we're so grateful!

Yelp
Came in about to pass out, had to wait 4 hours in the ER. A few others who came in before me told me they had been waiting over 4 hours. This is ridiculous. Whats the point of calling this an EMERGENCY ROOM if theres no urgency in the slightest.

Donald L.

Yelp
Wait times are extremely long. Be prepared to spend an entire day here in pain. We've been waiting in the ER holding area for 8 hours and counting. I've seen VA emergency rooms move faster than this. Nothing private about this private hospital. Avoid if you can.

Charlene D.

Yelp
This is by far the worst hospital I ever stayed at. The cafeteria staff were very rude and not helpful at all. The nursing staff was terrible as well. I had to wait hours for my pain pills after I was out of surgery and already in extreme pain. No CNA ever checked on me or helped me with anything during my entire 2 day stay at the hospital. It was only one CNA on the entire floor. It was worse experience I ever had in a hospital.

Yelp
Hubby has been admitted to the hospital for low heart rate. I could not go to the room with him because of corona virus stipulations. He had not eaten in 12 hours. They never offered him anything. The nurse told me that lunch would be delivered within the hour. I reminded her that he had not had any food for over 12 hours. I had to ask her to have someone take him some snacks. (she should have offered) The following day hubby went down for a procedure and they removed the heart monitoring pads. They advised his nurse, Talia, that he was being returned to his room. My husband she his nurse replied, ok. I called to check on my husband and he told me that he has been in his room for four hours without the monitor being connected to his chest. I called the charge nurse Ellaine, and asked her why was he not being monitored. She said she is not "familiar" with my husband, but she is aware that he is on the floor. She apologized for the nurse not hooking him up. They sent a CNA in to add the pads back on him and hooked him back up. The blood pressure machine is still on his covers blowing up, but it was not placed back on his arm. I called the charge nurse again, "she was not available". I then asked for the nurse. The nurse, Talia, advised that she was not aware that my husband had been returned to his room. I advised her that my husband told me that the the transporter announced that he was returning my husband to his room. I asked the nurse how often are they required to check on their patients, she said every hour and the nurse assistants also check and there is a monitoring crew that looks at the heart monitors in a separate room. So I said the ball was dropped from three separate people concerning my husband. There should have been a red flag from the heart monitoring room because my husband was off line for over 4 hours. The nurse did not check for over 4 hours nor did the nurse assistant check for over 4 hours. The charge nurse then got on the phone and said she was investigating and waiting for the transporter supervisor to call her back because the transporter did not alert the nurse that my husband was back. I informed her that I worked in the hospital years ago and was not aware of any procedure that took four hours except for surgery, and the ball was not dropped by the transport. She will have the operations administrator (Stewart) call me. 3/31/20 2:31pm

Yelp
I gave birth to my daughter here and had a great experience. The facilities were great and the staff was wonderful. The doctors and nurses were all amazing and so caring. My delivery ended in a c section and so we encountered a lot of different doctors and nurses, all of whom were upstanding professionals. Inpatient care was also spectacular. Every single nurse took care of us so well and my doctors all came in at some point to just check on us and say hello. We got a warm cookie each day we were there and when we left they sent us off with a mini bundt cake as a congratulatory treat for having a new baby. The doctor who performed our c section also gifted us a little Duke onesie for the baby which was so kind of her to do!

Kasi H.

Yelp
DOUG LANE at duke regional hospital didn't listen to anything I said and tried to diagnose me with acid reflux when I have PLUERISY IN MY LUNG. The nurse had the audacity to tell me "you're in luck we have our fastest team on right now" meaning they were soooo lazy and their only goal was to get me to leave, didn't check on me at all. And the doctor gave me a stomach number which didn't help my pain AT ALL and I told them that and that should have been their FIRST clue that it wasn't my stomach. But they're not smart or good at medicine in the emergency room. The doctor that I saw that correctly diagnosed me was APALLED at their negligence

Yelp
They took 7 hours to see me from the ER. Staff was okay though. They did address my concerns though.

Yelp
Best treatment ever. Went in for an MRI and was diagnosed with a stroke. My care couldn't have been better. Thank You.

Yelp
I'm not sure if BIG Duke is any better, but if it's not go to Chapel Hill or Raleigh. Duke Regional is HORRIBLE. My elderly uncle just had a 5 day stay on the 7th floor, postop orthopedic surgery. Apparently not enough nurses on Monday & Tuesday (Friday, Saturday & Sunday weren't bad). If the call button is even answered... doesn't matter... no one actually comes to the room to assist the patient. And discharge was to be Tuesday and Case Worker did NOTHING to make that happen when it was supposed to.... Case worker has not shown her face in any way whatsoever to take care of the discharge to Hillcrest as it should have been. Shortage of everything.... no plastic sleeves for the water pitchers, no pillows, no clean linens.... not even a top sheet on his bed... just a blanket. Yeah, ANYWHERE but Duke Regional is your best bet for Healthcare. And if BIG Duke is no better, Durham needs to get rid of that "City of Medicine" BS.

Yelp
Beware of "surprise billing" by radiology groups providing scans in the ER (and perhaps other services--anesthesiology??) operating within Duke Regional but billing separately, and hence considered out of network by insurance. This happened to my wife, who was admitted in severe pain and unable to make decisions--even if offered, which they were not. I understand from the national press that this is a national problem, but Duke should be ashamed of its participation in this sort of activity. My understanding is that if we had gone to Main Duke, rather than Regional, all services would have been in network. We can afford the extra charge, but we feel very sorry for those who cannot. No notice given--and I think that one of the scans was medically unnecessary. Incidentally I am a 32 year Duke employee and have nothing but respect for the institution as a whole. But I think the university can do better than this with regard to what are essentially helpless and uninformed ER patients. I'd really like to know what Duke's long-term lease from the County has to say about insurance acceptance--we have Medicare plus a supplement.

Yelp
Jim N.'s post was back in 2009 and it could still be valid today, except, not a stretched staff. I am 58 years old and have been in hospitals from day one, so I know about them. This hospital is great! I started out with outpatient sector and then had surgery 3 weeks later... I am amazed at how good and consistent everyone was. Easy access by the roads, easy parking, minimal waiting (they were on time every time) Staff from Doctors to Dietary to house keeping.. all professional, kind and helpful and the most important part, know their jobs. This hospital is what every other hospital in the country strive for.

Michele C.

Yelp
I visited a patient in Duke's Psychiatric Williams Unit in June 2017, multiple times during the month. This ward was filthy dirty. Every window was filled with smears and fingerprints. The metal plate on the bottom of doors was smeared and dirty. Floors looked like they had not been mopped or wiped down, in weeks. Baseboards were so dirty they had not been wiped down in months. Patient bathrooms had not been cleaned and dirty clothes were piled up on the floor in their room. These patients are certainly not being provided a clean, or medically safe environment. One would think with doctors, residents and nurses walking this area each day, they would notice this filth and make sure it was taken care of. What's going on here?

Yelp
Very very slow service. Been in lobby for 4 hrs. Everyone after me has been seen. I asked how much longer i had since im in terrible pain and was ignored. Very disappointing. I couldve stayed home in pain for all this. Pain level is 9. Thought regional would be better than duke but hell i couldve went to unc.

Yelp
The way that they treat former employees who gave them 26 years service is (there is no word in the dictionary to describe how awful. Refusing to pay the retirement earned by this employee after she ran one of the departments for them for at least 5 to 7 years. She had also been grandfathered in the old retirement program from Watts Hospital. I wonder if they could find 12 working people to agree with them. Especially since this employee has been trying to get what little retirement she would get for 10 years. Maybe they are in such financial problems that they cannot afford it. If so, would you want to go there as a patient? J Howard

Yelp
Very nice facility and staff. Clean. Amazingly, the draperies, curtains and upholstery matched and there were pictures on the wall; the floors were gleaming; food pretty good; they're obviously focused on good care. Nice cafeteia with helpful staff. Terrific gift shop and coffee shop in lobby, and valet parking saves the day when weather is rough. Security was helpful with temporary parking for a discharge pickup. Only downside, the staff are pretty busy and stretched--which appears to be the case everywhere else too. This is a good place to go when you need a hospital!

Yelp
I went here for some tests and found the staff to be just awesome! I was able to park very close and the experience here was very pleasant... and I was able to get what I had to get done quick. Highly recommend this location!

Yelp
I was admitted in 2016 after I went through a devastating loss of my beloved mother. I was very depressed which led to respiratory failure. As soon as I got to the hospital, I met Dr. Branch who told me not to worry because he was gonna take care of me. During my stay at DRH, I met the most incredible nurses and doctors and my physical therapy team was the BEST!!!! The ONLY problem I had at Duke Regional was Dr. Yuri in the ICU/CCU ward!!!! That man is the WORST DOCTOR IVE EVER CAME IN CONTACT WITH!!!!! I will never have anything nice to say about him!!! Duke Regional Hospital will always be a recommendation for my family and friends but NOT DR. YURI!!!!

Yelp
This hospital is fantastic and they are continuing to remodel aggressively. But the building is great, but the attitude of the staff is what makes this place rock. Excellent care, very pleased! It doesn't matter if it is the Doctor or an administrative person, they will help you get what you need or find the right person.

Yelp
Best hospital around for Bariatric surgery...Duke technology with a community hospital feel

Yelp
Duke Regional rocks. There was a misunderstanding but Amber at patient advocacy got right back to me and she listened to my questions completely, she answered completely with compassion, she followed up. Duke has excellent doctors and nurses. The new hippa laws have lead to mis-communication and that can have severe consequences with the elderly at times. But I was heard and my concerns were addressed appropriately and I appreciate the care and compassion my family received in such a difficult time. Thank you so much Duke Regional for your skill, your compassion, your care. You are awesome and we appreciate you!!!!

Yelp
Service was perfect! Nurses were very polite...and excellent doctors. I've been here for a week now for a gall bladder surgery. The cleanliness is not the best, they don't clean the shower:-(

Yelp
Horrible experience radiology didn't check orders prior to morning of service I went there for no reason. Took time off work and they say oh well we have an opening on Monday so take more time off work. What a crock. Go somewhere else.

Yelp
Very very helpful people at Duke very professional and my experiences been great every time that I've had to go and visit somebody there. It is my first choice in case of emergency and in case of any medical needs. They saved my father's life

Yelp
I had to visit the Emergency Room after what turned out to be a 1st trimester miscarriage, and I'm glad that I was at Duke Regional for this experience. Every ER staff member I encountered was thorough, polite, and professional. They all were a great help in easing my fears and worry from something so unexpected and frightening. Their follow up is amazing, and even though I was there for twice as long as my last ER experience, it was much better. My only other ER experience was in another state 3 years ago after post-birth complications, and I avoid ER's unless absolutely necessary because of the long waits and unknown circumstances, so I'm really happy to have a positive experience.

Yelp
We were rushed here for a CT scan for my husband who has terrible kidney stone pain. It took over an hour to register him (even though he's been here before!) and they only have one person working registration. Next we were taken back to Radiology. My husband needed a wheelchair because the pain was so bad and they asked him to walk because they didn't have a chair on hand. We were escorted to a restroom so he could try to relieve himself, and there was a GIANT cockroach in there. Hubby killed it (thankfully) but the gentleman escorting us was completely un phased by the buggy intruder. The toilet was caked in old urine and smelled to high heaven. Some of the staff we worked with we're so kind and helpful and understanding of the tremendous pain my husband was in. I really appreciated it and I can only imagine how much of a relief it was to Hubby. For our time/money, we'll be sticking with Duke proper from now on.

Yelp
We delivered our son several days ago and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Our L+D nurse was clearly very passionate about her profession and provided my wife stellar nursing and emotional support throughout labor. The OB physician did an outstanding job. The mother + baby unit nurses were uniformly terrific, giving us as much time as we needed to answer questions and provide teaching for feeding and care of our new baby. We would deliver future children at Duke Regional without a second thought.

Yelp
The worst. I had a total ankle replacement and Duke scheduled it a "outpatient"! I was forcibly (against my will) "discharged" (their words) after two days. I found out then I had never been admitted (so how could I be discharged?!?). I know people who have been admitted for 5 days for a knee replacement (much less complex). Duke Regional? RUN AWAY!!!!
