"We’ve never had a bad time at Hardware, a Hell’s Kitchen spot that hosts some of the best drag performances and performers in the city. The bartenders are friendly and fast, and there’s also a back dance room, where they’re heavy on the fog machines. When someone on your group text suggests Hardware, everyone can get on board." - Rob Anderson

I love our local Ace (Duke's). The staff are always friendly and helpful as soon as you walk in the door. I especially wanted to take time out to thank Karen for being so attentive and kind. She took her time with us with a smile. She is great! This is our go-to place for all our home projects and needs. We appreciate all of you.

Went to the store for a igniter. I had the old part with me. I showed the part to one of the store associates and he assisted me. He went to the cabinet got the part and took it to the cashier. I paid and left, . Driving down the street stopped at the light I looked at the part and noticed it was not the right part. I turned around and went right back to return the part and was told that the part was not returnable. I was never told that from no one when I purchased it nor where there any thing posted. The young lady call the manager and explained I had just left. The manger open the part and took it out. When she took it out she was holding the element and I informed her that she was handling the igniter wrong . That's when she said she can't return it and it says it on the receipt. The only way you get the receipt is you have to pay. I call the corporate office and they called the store manager and she told them that her associates explain to me before I purchase that the part could not be returned. That was a fat lie. I feel bad for the young man that gave me the part because he keep saying he didn't know like he was going to get into some trouble.

I went to this Ace looking to buy a new Weber grill, and had a wonderful experience. Corbin showed me the grill that I was looking for. He asked if I wanted to take the one on display since it was already assembled. He even cleaned it and help me put it in my car. I will definitely be going back for any future needs for my home. Thank you again Corbin for the amazing customer service!

Google
Friendly and decently knowledgeable employees. I have been going to this location since I was a young lad and it's just as clean, fun and finely stocked as I remember. Now my son loves it too, plus it's faster and doesn't blow a hole in your wallet when you need to pop in for something.

Google
My go to place for quick things. Its nice to support small business when you can. Are they the cheapest, no, but you can always find what you want and they are very helpful when you can't find what you want. An added bonus is you don't have to check your things out, they actually do it for you!!!!

Yelp
Cool local Ace Hardware. If You need; a grill, a Yeti, or a steel sign for the basement or garage this is the place for You. Nice people & helpful.

Yelp
Love this store! Very helpful staff. You can't go wrong here! Found exactly what I needed

Yelp
Asked for help at the service desk because I was going to buy a blackstone grill. He called someone to meet me in aisle 19 for assistance. I stood there for 20 minutes like an idiot and no one showed up. Unreal

Yelp
very rude and the store is very dirty. and not the best costumer service skills. I was looking for something in the store and the guy was just following me around giving a me a dirty look like I shouldnt be ther.

Yelp
Other places may be a bit cheaper but I don't care. I never leave there without what I need. I live in an older house, so whenever I need something, I know I can go there and get it, with the help I need. If I go to Home Depot, I have to walk around forever looking for something that probably is not in stock, without any help. If I go to Duke's, it gets done, period.

Yelp
Only thing that sucks is parking but if you been coming here for a while, you just say "screw it" and drive over the curb. I've been coming here for years with my dad and just absolutely love this place. It's easy to find stuff instead of walking inside walking for about a mile in a Home Depot,Menards or Lowe's. Stuff here is well priced and they will have everything you need. I went there over the weekend to find tools needed to put up stuff for a bunch of shadow boxes I've been wanting to do. The staff there is fun and the cashier Haley is super sweet. She's very professional with customer service and made sure I was satisfied with my purchase before leaving.

Yelp
Love this place. Workers are very helpful and will give you advice on any project you are working on. They really care and take the time to make sure you're taken care of.

Yelp
I would never have guessed when I woke up this morning that I would have the worst experience I ever had in a hardware store. Today I was searching for a Craftsmans tool box set and found the Dukes showed it was in stock. So I called to verify. Was left hanging on the phone for 5 minutes so I hung up and called back. Was put on hold again. Finally got to talk to someone who seemed to know a little about what I was asking and eventually he was able to verify it was in stock. When I got to the the store I headed to the Craftsman section (which is right next to the front counter) and saw what I wanted. But I had a few questions. There was a gentleman behind the counter and I was going to approach him to ask a question. I wasn't sure he was an employee because he had no uniform or name tag. At that time he was also leaving the counter area and walked right past me never asking if I needed help.(in fact no one at the counter did even though they could see me standing there) I called out to him and asked a question. He seemed bothered by that but grudgingly went back to the counter to look up the information. At first he couldn't find it and told me that the info I wanted was only for online orders. After a few minutes I told him to forget the question and just let me know if the item I wanted was a display model or was there a new one in a box. He said they throw the boxes away sometimes. I asked him to check because they had 4 in stock. He started walking to the other side of the store when another gentlman told him (that's when I found out his name was Tom) there is an end cap display at the other end of the store. I followed him over and saw all the units on display with no boxes so my question was answered. I did ask him why he was so excited and disturbed by my questions. He had no answer and walked away. This is the most terrible experience I have ever had in any hardware/big box store. I surely will never shop at this store again as it seems like they don't want informed customers. I worked at Sears for 35 years and we always were trained to take care of the customer!

Yelp
I've been going to Dukes since I was a little kid with my dad. (I'm 58.) I went yesterday to pick up some wireless LED lights; I had picked up a pack the day before. There were none on the shelf, so I asked an employee about them. She checked to see if they had them in stock, and when they didn't, she located a Dukes that had them in stock. I wish I had gotten her name: she was very pleasant and helpful. You can't go wrong with the service you get here!

Erica D.

Yelp
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! my family has been shopping here since I was a kid.... however.... the last two times my husband went in he was followed all the way to the parking lot because a woman that works there was convinced he shoplifted. My husband shopped, stood in line paid for his items. On the way out the alarm at the door went off. keep in mind this is the second time this plays out like this. a woman proceeded to request that he empty out his pockets. My husband grabbed his purchase and walked out.....this crazy woman follows him to his car! and tells him she is calling the cops. my husband drove home after that.... needless to say sadly we will be shopping elsewhere now.

Yelp
Today my son and myself walked into the store to repair a broken axle on a scooter after several tries at Home Depot we figured why not try a good old-fashioned hardware store. 'm glad we did the service here was incredible a gentleman by the of Tom helped us until the axle was completely fixed. Sizing parts, filing down parts testing parts out until he found perfect fit . The total cost was $1.05 but the service was invaluable I highly recommend this place they really are the helpful hardware folks!

Yelp
Everybody was wearing mask, I was greated when I walked in and was promptly helped to find my item

Yelp
Did you know that they have more screws and bolts here then Home Depot?! No joke, we needed a replacement screw for a piece of furniture and our first instinct was to go to a big home improvement store. Two young guys who we asked for help at Home Depot just pointed us to the aisle where all the screws were. We showed them the screw and they just said to see what was in those aisles. A customer saw the confusion on our faces and advised us to go to Ace if we were looking for a specialty screw, big home improvement stores he said he goes to when he needs basic screws in bulk...specialty ones he goes to Ace for. Ace is pretty close to our house, but we didn't think to even try going there. Sure enough, they had the screw...and helpful staff who took one look at the screw and knew exactly what we needed! We have been coming here ever since and only going to Home Depot/Menards when Ace does not have something we need. Stores like Home Depot certainly have a larger selection, but there is something so comforting in walking to a neighborhood hardware store. The kind old men who work there have worked there for years, they know you by name and they treat each other like family. Just a great local feel to this great little hardware store. Don't let the outside of this place fool you either. Not that it looks tiny by any means, but you wouldn't think they have everything from paint to locksmiths to a bill payment center in there. The layout is very well thought out and they will have 70% of everything you need from a home improvement store.

Yelp
I've been going there since 1967 with my parents and have continued through my adulthood, always treated professionally and have every one of my questions answered. It's a win-win situation visiting this fine establishment!!!

Yelp
this is the best ace hardware i have ever been to ever always friendly people prices a lil high but ill pay for the quality of service u dont get at like menards

Karen K.

Yelp
I went to have some keys cut. A young kid was upset when I asked for more than one copy to be made. He started arguing with me that I never told him I wanted more than one. I told the manager and he was about as enthused as the worker. I used to go there often but no more. Looks like Lowes or Home Depot. They lost a customer for good.

Chris J.

Yelp
I love my local Ace store. They can't match price, but for customer service no one can come close. Even the kids that work there are possessed of a good amount of knowledge, but if you need actual directions on how to do something/anything , there's always someone around that has that knowledge, and will devote considerable time explaining it to you. And, they seem to have everything. They do all sorts of services as well, including cutting glass, mounting screens, etc, etc, etc. I've also been seeing the same manager (owner?) for ages, and he is always helpful and friendly. I've been to some other Ace's, not all are as good as this one. Local business for the win!

Diane D.

Yelp
No matter what it is we need -- homeowner repair, lawn, garden, electrical -- our local Duke's has the answers OR can/will find the source to help -- and have materials needed. Absolutely the go-to store for anything around the home, office or business. We've shopped Dukes back to the 70's and keep going back so that local businesses like this can thrive against big box stores who cannot compete with such outstanding customer service!!

Kathy K.

Yelp
Duke's Ace Hardware was having a flower sale the weekend of Mothers day. Do yourself a favor and don't attend. The area it is held is so small you are directed by a small paper arrow and don't try to get around it. The person who was at the sale was the owner of the store and sure did not take a "happy pill" that morning. He was rude and unhelpful to customers. Not enough carts, or anything to carry multiple flowers in. The place was crazy busy, should he have not seen that and at least tried to be pleasant. It is a neighborhood business for me and anyone else in the area but I will NOT go there again. I was at the Ace Hardware in Palos Hills and also Lagrange, the Burbank, owner needs to go visit them and see get some customer skills. When I went to pay, a wonderful young, probably minimum wage worker was trying to apologize for him. Told her DON'T he is not doing this business out of the kindness of his heart. Maybe its time for him to hang up his tool belt!
