Duke's Canoe Club Barefoot Bar and Restaurant

Had a lovely lunch at Duke's on Taco Tuesday. Everything was delicious and the carbs asada nachos stood out. Generous portion of crispy chips with layers of flavor. Fish tacos tasted fresh and again, will balanced flavors. We will be back!

My wife and I stopped at Duke’s for an afternoon snack. Dionne was our waitress and she greeted us with a big smile and seated us immediately. She recommended the Hazy IPA for me and the hula pie for my wife. The hazy IPA was juicy and a soft mouth feel. Hints of citrus and local fruit. The hula pie was great. Macadamia ice cream, chocolate cookie crust with hot fudge and whipped cream.. Dionne brought us two sporks - perfect for that dessert. My wife had to limit me to 3 bites, it was so good. This was a fun place to relax in the afternoon and enjoy the beautiful view. Don’t forget to give a good tip when you get good service and great food. Tell Dionne you read my review. Convenient location by the resort for a change of scenery, but otherwise not much to mention. The on prem restaurant at resort next door was way better. Pretty good staff. Space was okay but lighting was a bit off. Almost shack like but half connected to resort side so it's nice on the outdoor later, then dark and kinda dank, then restaurant -y Drinks: okay, a bit on the sweet side and soso considering similar pricing for better taste nearby. Food: Get: wings, fish tacos (if you can enjoy not fried fish), coconut shrimp (a little oily but otherwise good), rocket salad, fish and chips (on the small side and uses a dark batter that absorbs oil a bit, but fries are decent) Avoid: Poke bowl. Fish seemed to have been marinating for too longand under salted, rice was overcooked and refrigerated, kimchi and pickles bland. If you want poke, walk 5 mins further to the musibi truck for a much better execution. Few tables could seat a few more but most of the ocean side were 2-4 person. M If you've got a bit of a group then you might end up more on the inside.

Fun atmosphere right on the beach. Very small food menu. The nachos were excellent! The pulled pork sandwich was pretty good. burger was pretty basic. The ice cream hula pie was yum.

Atmosphere down stairs is great especially for kids. Our fish tacos were great but ever seemed like small portions including kids menu sides. Great service. We only waited 20 minutes without a reservation to eat downstairs. Nice ambiance down three as well. We parked across the street by the food carts so we wouldn’t have to wait for valet. Gotta get the hula pie! I would like to mention the restrooms are very small downstairs and always had a line. My wife said they were VERY dirty in hopes that someone would clean.

We were excited to celebrate a birthday here, but left disappointed. Our table wobbled throughout the meal, the food was too salty (we mentioned it but nothing was done), and the complimentary birthday dessert came without a candle. We understand restaurants have off nights, but for these prices, we hoped for better attention to the little things that make special occasions memorable.

🍹GOOD OLE DUKES! My wife and I have enjoyed Duke's in Oahu and this Kaua'i location did not disappoint. Located by the a beach it's a really nice atmosphere. The prices are typical for a resort. There are better places for mai tais on Kauai but Duke's Mai tai isn't bad. Their drinks are good and strong. The food is good. This is a much better choice for cocktails and food versus the restaurant / bar at the Royal Sonesta or Marriott Beach Club.

Great location and variety on the menu. Had the poke tacos and calamari. So good!
